LD28 — You Only Get One

Ursa Miner by Will Edwards 2013-12-16T03:21:00

The controls took some getting used to, otherwise it was pretty entertaining. I was confused as to what I was doing, but that's my fault because I didn't read the instructions.

Extreme Curling by Enneract 2013-12-19T00:58:00

I also saw the flickering triangle bug on my Galaxy S II. Fun game otherwise!

Berathen Jam by Venks 2013-12-18T15:19:00

I didn't understand a couple of the games, but rest were quite fun. I enjoyed the variety.

What The Sock by Spierek 2013-12-18T20:22:00

Very comical take on the theme. Was extremely difficult, but I really enjoyed the graphical style and the music.

Stop the Clock by sknoslo 2013-12-16T16:19:00

Thank you all for the feedback. I figured I would get some feedback about it taking to long to run around the "obstacle course"... and it feeling a bit redundant. I had grand plans for the different areas but 48 hours is such a short time! After the ratings are done I plan to expand on this game for maybe a month or so, to see if I can make it more fun. Thanks for checking it out!

Showdown by madlee 2013-12-16T04:33:00

Took me a while to get a grasp of it. Fun game though!

YOGO PATH by cesisco 2013-12-19T15:03:00

Have to control both characters, while they move at different speeds, was a really great idea, and made this game very challenging. The level generation could use some tweaks, as there were a couple times when it would have been impossible to beat it.

Console Wars 3D by wezrule 2013-12-18T20:15:00

I couldn't get past the first level, and wasn't really sure why I kept losing. Do the bookshelves kill you? Anyway, nice effort, with a little extra work, this could turn into a pretty fun game I think.

OneChance by Makdaam 2013-12-18T19:45:00

I didn't read your whole description first, so I didn't take a screenshot, sorry. I killed a couple people and then died. Wasn't really sure what I was supposed to do besides that. Now that I have actually read your description, this is a really interesting idea.

Round toe by Thecoolestnerdguys 2013-12-18T15:56:00

The AI could obviously use some improvement, but overall, a nice take on tic tac toe.

BUTTERSLIDE by Mnemusyne 2013-12-16T16:55:00

Ahhhh those damn knives. Really good entry.

Only One World by Calahagus 2013-12-16T03:45:00

What version of LOVE is this targeting? I extracted the .love file from the source package and couldn't get it to run on Linux. From line 346 of main.lua, I get "bad argument #5 to printf1 (string expected, got nil)"

Shadow Night by ParaPup 2013-12-16T20:55:00

I turned my mouse dpi all the way down and the sensitivity was way to high, and I was getting dizzy. From what I played, the atmosphere was great, but not sure what I was supposed to do.

One Orb by patricklorio 2013-12-16T04:21:00

Ha, I really enjoyed this game. Reminds me of the scene in the original MiB when Will Smith makes that little orb bounce around on accident.

You Only Get One Gift (for christmas) by Bw2801 2013-12-16T14:53:00

Fun game. I was really confused after the first round, because it said "To be continued" so I thought the game was over and then it said "Esc to reset" but Esc didn't do anything. Then I realized it was just a tip screen lol.

Only one Cookie by Linus Lindberg 2013-12-16T19:35:00

Ha, this game is awesome. I'm going to go eat cookies now, and nobody can stop me!

Escape Of The Red Gem by 97PercentAwesome 2013-12-18T18:58:00

I really liked the art style. Interesting platforming mechanics, that really made me concentrate on my timing. Good work.

My Old Kentucky Home by emmelineprufrock 2013-12-16T15:38:00

Great story, very well written. The music was a really nice touch.

Nameko Bounce by Shivers 2013-12-16T04:16:00

You should consider adding some instructions. It took be a bit to figure out what I was doing, and I still think I was missing something.

Loot of the Forest by moop 2013-12-16T16:06:00

The mazes were fairly easy, but they made me think/plan a little so I enjoyed it. Good work.

Agent One by DanielSnd 2013-12-19T14:43:00

Fun game with a really neat art style. My only complaint is the one minute constraint. Seems like a bit of a cop out on the theme, when one life (no health regeneration) would work with the content of the game much better, IMO. Mainly, I would have just liked to have seen how long I could have lived because I was having fun!

One shot, One opportunity. by Sr. Nice 2013-12-16T15:12:00

Works fine on Linux too just so you know. Though there didn't seem to be any way to exit the game? Had to close it through my taskbar.

SPELLBREAKER by jdpalmer 2013-12-18T15:40:00

Had I not seen your demonstration in class (I'm one of your students) I wouldn't have any idea how to play. Very well made game.

Our Story by CarlsonAndPeeters 2013-12-16T22:47:00

Fun game. Nice take on the theme!

Clueless by m12y 2013-12-16T04:42:00

Is there a visual cue for who the killer is? I tried several times but ended up just guessing several times. Interesting concept!

Unibrow by ViliX64 2013-12-31T18:35:00

I didn't make it in time by a long shot! ha. Fun game. I really enjoyed the mini-game at the end. nice work.

Earth by george_prosser 2013-12-16T03:59:00

The difficulty increases exponentially lol. Fun little game. Good work. Runs well on Linux.

Love, Bullet, Minute by the 2013-12-16T15:02:00

I don't have any idea what I was doing, but the music made it feel important and I enjoyed it. Good work.

Tank Shooter by MrJavaFrank 2013-12-18T15:42:00

Fun little game. With a bit of polish it could be really good.

The Adventures of Yogo by Lazdo 2013-12-16T03:52:00

The JAR works fine on Linux too, just so you know. One of my biggest pet peeves in platformers is when the character stops moving horizontally while in the air if the keys are let go, but once I got over that, I enjoyed it! The controls, specifically pressing space to jump and e to glide, was kind of weird ergonomically. Good work though!

Only one life by oojava 2013-12-18T20:07:00

Pretty good work considering none of you had ever made a game before. There were a couple gaps that I literally couldn't jump over but other than that, a pretty solid attempt at procedural generation of levels.

Dinosaur Ranger Interview: Burrito Challenge SUPREME by Udell Games 2013-12-16T22:38:00

I suck at typing apparently. Funny game. Good work.

Collector's Quest by Crigs 2013-12-16T04:01:00

Us Linux users don't have the Unity Web Player, maybe you could export a native version for Linux if you get the chance!

Gino by AmmoreChicks 2013-12-18T19:56:00

The collision detection needs some refinement, otherwise pretty entertaining.

One Fall by lantto 2013-12-16T15:41:00

Nice take on the theme. I didn't make it very far lol.

The Depths of Kargron by Kruithne 2013-12-16T04:06:00

Fun game. Collision detection could be polished up a bit, the first thing I did was knock the box a pixel or two downward on accident and had to start over. Once I got a feel for the size of the character I enjoyed it.

Dodge'n'Run by BillyTheCodingKid 2013-12-16T04:25:00

Consider uploading a standalone .love file for us Linux users! I was going to just extract it from the Windows package but the download was on track to take 12 minutes or so.

OneWords by mckoss 2013-12-18T16:01:00

Actually quite challenging, with the short amount of time given. Really unique take on the theme.

Javel-ein by managore 2013-12-19T14:56:00

Really great game, and nice execution of the theme. My only complaint is that the sounds don't really fit the overall aesthetics of the game. Other than that, definitely in the top 5 entries I've played so far.

Two Options... by GFM 2013-12-31T18:42:00

Nicely done! Fun platforming, with difficult but doable levels. Ran into a few graphical glitches where after I died it would draw a ladder where my dead body was supposed to be. Otherwise a very polished entry!

Batteries Not Included by Photon 2013-12-18T15:30:00

Nicely designed puzzles. I really enjoyed this.

Concert Crashers by atombrot 2013-12-18T20:01:00

I really liked the audio and the art. Good work.

Time Detective by mruno 2013-12-16T16:00:00

Fun little text game. I messed up and got caught.

Wifes by celsyum 2013-12-16T23:04:00

They kept stealing my wives! Good thing it was so easy to get a new one lol. Good work!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Please Come Back by PapyPilgrim 2014-04-28T15:37:00

It's hard to scroll and click at the same time, which is awesome because it would probably be hard to stay above the waves and yell for help in real life. I failed miserably lol. Nice work.

Seafloor Defense by Zathalos 2014-04-28T03:11:00

Really polished game. I liked the art. Only made it to wave 6 before totally getting destroyed :)

24100 by lekochen 2014-04-28T04:46:00

Cool story. I feel like it could be a really great intro to a larger game of some sort.

Kolony by sknoslo 2014-04-28T04:21:00

Thanks for letting me know!

Kolony by sknoslo 2014-04-30T00:40:00

@Linus Lindberg I had plans for "natural disasters" such as rain and magnifying glasses, but I had some other plans on the weekend to work around so I didn't get around to it. Thanks for the feedback!

Kolony by sknoslo 2014-04-30T21:45:00

@CheeseyBob, what is your screen resolution? The ants are drawn as a single pixel... and I only got around to testing it on a 1080p monitor, so I'm guessing it could be hard to see if you had a really high pixel density display. I'd like to see a screenshot though if you have the time.

Kolony by sknoslo 2014-05-04T19:25:00

@CheeseyBob, that is very strange. Thanks for the screenshot. I also tried it on 64 bit Win8 and it worked fine. Not really sure what could be happening...

Depth by Calahagus 2014-04-28T03:40:00

Interesting concept and I really liked the art. Really hard though, and I couldn't seem to try again, without restarting the game.

FedIt! by zedutchgandalf 2014-04-28T15:41:00

Collision detection was kinda lacking, making it hard to push the food around. Fun game though, and it got hard really fast.

Klein Bottle Asteroids by bucketh3ad 2014-04-28T04:58:00

Really hard with only a single bullet at a time. Great concept though.

PET RUN/STOP by Ludonaut 2014-04-28T15:29:00

Love the use of ASCII for the graphics. A lot of fun too. Really great work.

I Remember Alice by Linus Lindberg 2014-04-30T00:55:00

Love the art and the subtle application of the theme.

I had a feeling it was going to go on forever to prove to me that, like the character, I need to do something with my life lol. I'm glad I stuck with it for the happy ending! Nicely done.

Ninja VS Worms by ninjacharlie 2014-04-30T01:05:00

2900 points was my best! Fun game. Could definitely use some balancing. Probably just by adding a half second delay before the player can fire the next arrow, you could make it a lot harder.

AHH LAVA! by Dreii 2014-04-28T14:34:00

I really liked it but the level generation could use some work. I played a few times and always ran into dead ends, 16 bubbles was my best!

Mine Explorer by Joe Williamson 2014-04-28T04:40:00

Amazing art. If you fleshed this out a bit more this could be really good!

GameJammed by ShivanHunter 2014-04-28T04:52:00

Has some issues on Linux. The Linux filesystem is case sensitive, and your file names are often off because of the case. Probably the issues you are having with web too. If you get that sorted out I'd love to try it.

The Crack by r0x0r 2014-04-28T14:29:00

I love the art and the story. Kinda wish there was some more game play though! Good work.

TRESHUR by Zupoman 2014-04-30T01:12:00

Played so many times and never even got close! Fun game!

deep down by Jan Peter (jpdev) 2014-04-28T04:12:00

Love that you drew the art on paper. Quite fun.

Gophers and Choppers by abrie 2014-04-28T04:27:00

TIL my memory is terrible. Really awesome game. This would make a really good mobile game.

Swashbuckler Patrol by Lolninjacatz 2014-04-28T04:07:00

Great use of Box2D, the physics felt really nice. I really wish you had gotten some of your obstacles implemented so I could really give this a shot! Keep working at it.

Frozen Solid by TMKCodes 2014-04-28T04:20:00

Wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing. The idea sounded good though, so it could be fun once you get a little further on the implementation.

Lights by Seyroth 2014-04-28T14:18:00

Nice concept. If you extended this with some more levels it could be really challenging and fun.

Beneath the Surface by Milktoast 2014-05-14T00:26:00

Awesome game! Nothing revolutionary but I love the graphic style and had a lot of fun playing it. Nice work.

Lumberjack of souls by TheMorfeus 2014-04-28T14:48:00

I liked the minimalist pixel art of the character. Collision detection could use some work. I got caught on the corner of a block a couple of times. Jumping got me unstuck so it wasn't a big deal. More content and this could be a pretty interesting game. Not bad for being 18 hours late to the competition.

Deep Maze by hexabeast 2014-04-28T15:48:00

My memory is so bad! Nice game.

Miner Fish by CheeseyBob 2014-05-04T19:36:00

This game was a lot of fun! Could definitely use some balancing. The mining was a really funny/fun addition to the game play. Nice work!

FishCopter by minism 2014-04-28T04:35:00

384 pounds was my best in 5 attempts. Great mix of simplicity and difficulty. My only wish is that there were some more realistic physics with the rope. Nice work!

Sub Human by AdamSwaggoner 2014-04-28T03:28:00

Really nice game. I had a lot of difficulty with the last level but overall I really enjoyed it. Nicely done.
