Great game, Travis. I got pretty far on my 3rd try, all the way to the top somewhere. But then it's hard! I would love to get some more reward then just not dying, but overall this looks very very cool.

Hm that means I can't play it. A shame, since I made a Usain Bolt game as well! http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-27/?action=preview&uid=26481
Ha ha, nice one. I still died in the end! :D
I like this concept, and it works! I would have expected a much longer game after all those introductions rooms, but it's a nice accomplishment.
It's cool! I finished it. Good effort with the sound effects, and it's challenging. I would have made this even more abstract, without magic/fairies, just shapes and colors.
Now with a Windows version, courtesy of Aran Koning! :)
Thanks! Yeah, I'd mostly like to add some more items. More levels after that. And some level geometry sprites. But 48 hours fly by.... :)
@TobiasW Thanks for the praise, dude. The whole game actually only has one background sound, ripped from a YouTube video. But it worked so well, I decided not to put any time into fumbling around with it :)
I guess you're right about the 3 button approach, it could have been two (not one, I do like the fast restart option). I will change this in the next version.
:) yes, there are 2 secret passages... and they can boost your time bonus! I hid them because them were confusing my test player about where to go. She failed to get to the finish. But this works for now, I guess.
Thanks Jaj! Means a lot, really.
Some very nice stylish graphics and funny sound effects. Is that you guys making the sounds? :D Hard to understand what's going on sometimes because the beacons stop reacting, and why the weapons are changing. The weapons themselves are great though! It's a fun world to walk around in, and I love that it's round.
Looks cool! Paper styleee
Mooi werk, Joep! Nice story and great graphics.
Ha ha, that maniac prince! Great game, a little tough to control, but very innovative!
This is my very favorite game jam game, maybe in my top 3 jam games ever. The mood is perfect, the theme is well incorporated, the pacing is great, and the length of play is superb. The voice over is fantastic, and very appropriate. Thank you for this! (P.S. I would have paid money for this experience. Not kidding.)
OS X version needs Mono, which is big download. That's a bummer, don't want to download and install a 500M program right now. But it looks really great!
Wow, that advanced loadout... managed to clear 12 of 20, but it's tough. What a downer. Super graphics, brilliant mechanics.
Nice, it's Cookie Clicker meets Candy Box for 3D-artists. Just what we needed :)
What a great looking and playing game, awesome! The animations are great, and the touches like the sand storm coming in. It's not very hard to kill the worm, but it's a great game!
This is a great story to turn into a Twine adventure, and I don't think it's that bad that you used it. That's creativity! The way you implemented the words as if he's losing his mind really do the trick. I feel weird now. Really weird.
I'm on OS/X and the DSV does not move for me either. I think the controls are not configured properly. Changing them in the setup screen does nothing to help. Fix this guys, so we can play your game!
Massive terror!! Got to 113, munching in the air.
Nice game, looks good! But it's very hard to find all the treasure. It's hard to see where you've already searched. And how do you know if you've won, is it just score? I do like the fact that you explain through a voice track, that helps! The animations are nice too.
Waow, this reminds me of Corrypt, in a good way. The atmosphere is fantastic, and weird and creepy. I really got stuck, but I like this game a lot. Great entry.
Art very very good, game also nice game. Yes, it's a bit buggy as you described, but the main idea comes across very well! I agree with the pacing being very slow, I would make your game more difficult faster. Good work!
This is great, a sort of dungeon keeper, but with an incentive to keep the heroes alive! It can become a bit stale for certain parts, but I like it a lot!
Got stuck in the part with the cubes, but great effort! Looks and plays well. Don't know if it needs the voice-over, because your puzzle mechanic is really something to work with on it's own. And the charge bar is a little frustrating.
Great game, lovely experiment to see how these two games meet. The 3rd and 4th level werd hard as f, but I finished them. Felt compelled to do so, so that's a good sign.
The fact that you can quickly move through the air when falling feels a bit like cheating, but maybe that's part of the game. I brings some fast paced action to it. However, I would like to see a version where the snake does not fall if half or more of it's body is supported. He has muscles, after all. He a strong snake.
Windows version live!
@robert_steiner : thanks - will look into that.
I tried downloading and opening it from the link, and it seems to work fine. If anyone else has issues, please let me know.
Thanks! And thanks for the... thing.. I guess. :)
Thx all. The ghost was indeed inspired by Spelunky. More types of enemies is a good idea. I also wanted a burrowing type of enemy, that moves down to you, and excavates dirt. Alas, no more time :) As to more levels: I'd rather make this one level more dynamic procedurally.
It took me a while to get the hang of it, but then it really works. And after that, I started devising strategies to get higher scores. At first I didn't understand what the totems were good for. Looks great too!
Dat music!
A fun game because it's so damn weird. Protect the surface from penguins using ice cubes? Looks good, and it took me a while to get a good score. (7 is my highest by the way.) Good job for only 5 hours!!
The mechanics work great! It's a little weird controlling two guys at once, but strangely enough you get used to it. Good work on the puzzle pieces!
Great game! Too bad I still can't finish Venus, even after trying for a long time at Talk & Play. It looks and feels great - awesome work!
Great graphics, very nice concept! The game is hard though, and it's not quite clear what I did wrong when first starting out. And then I remembered I could sell things... still, I did not find anything other than these dogtags. Great work for such a short time!
The bouncy mechanic is fun, could work in many ways. Too bad there's no way to lose right now, it takes the challenge out. Good work in 2 days!
Graphics are great! The game itself is at times a little buggy, but works to show off the mechanics. I think there should be blocks you are NOT supposed to click to make things more interesting.
Nice puzzle, but I couldn't finish the game. Had a lot of empty space at the end which led to a sort of Flappy Bird scenario.
Did you also repack the OS/X version? I'm getting errors with that as well, and can't play right now.
Why is there a hole in the ground so often just before the exit? Otherwise, very very nice.
The atmosphere and graphics are amazing. Great choice of gameplay also. It of course reminds us a little of Papers, Please, but in a good way. The added mechanic of satisfying two groups is really interesting.
Does not work on Mac for me either.
Web link doesn't work. Could you change it to a link to the proper html file? More people will play it!
Too bad there's actually only one guy on the subway, but the game looks and works nice.
I am a monster!
Really hard, I can't figure out how to win this. But it looks great, and the idea is nice.
Nice work in such a short time. A pity it's unfinished, because the story you tell could really make the game work.
None of the graphics are showing for me except the main mole and energy bars. Don't know what's up with that. Otherwise, I like how you let players decide controls in game!
Sure there's a theme: you go below the surface if you fall down, and fight in a new arena! I love that. The art is great, and it could become an awesome and funny fighting game. The wolf controls are rough, but sheep seems to control fine. The power-ups are a great addition, with some inspiration from Worms. Good work!
Wow, what a gruesome tale. And even more horrible because it takes my movements!! But why? Why did I do this???
Feels and plays very nice. Tough to get more than 8 pages!
