Pretty neat.I like they story to it, and I really looked forward to getting to each additional level. The backgrounds remind me of earthbound. Something that bothered me was how the enemies hurt you. At first I thought moving back and forth got rid of them, but it was very inconsistent, so I have no idea if it actually works. That is my biggest gripe though, and I think you have a nice little game.
I cannot run your entry, because I don't know what program to run it with.
I think the art style, and your control scheme was well done. I saw what you tried to do in the first level with the bin. Maybe if it had been a little bit closer to the door. I must of hammered the space key a dozen times before I figured it out. That being said, I never to to find out what the bats did. Really cool story though. It's not seen often.
Very well done. Everything came together very nicely.
really need concept. I think your map is really cool. It's different and reminds me of some sort of virtual web. The enemies became repetitive though, and destroying them was tedious. Cool concept though. A sound for when I hit stuff would have been great too.
nice game! I like the humor, and the twist of being the board. The soundtrack was great. A little back story on the board would have been nice, because while it was in your comment, I read it as " you are a surfboardER". I spent a minute looking for the ace, haha.
Nice way to play with the theme. Everything seemed to work well together. The controls took a little bit to get used too. Over all good job, but more sound effects would be great. Having audio feed back, and a clear GUI is important. I had no idea the antibodies could run out.
Man that was a really neat idea. Everything is in place for a really interesting game. I liked the sense of discovery when I hopped out of the thought bubble. Even though the game was so short, there was this brief " I can go anywhere! " sensation. I would have been content slaying slimes all over the desk.
Very neat. Clever level design, good puzzles, neat mechanic. Very good. No real complaints, other than an odd control scheme. left and right arrows with the shift works much better.
Pretty cool. I think the idea of mining your way out of some situations is pretty cool. However, for some reason my drill doesn't want to work after a use or two. is it on a recharge timer? I would also not start the player with the drill, but the machine gun. The death animation was really neat to watch actually. Cool concept!
Very cool. It's neat how such a simple style gives it so much character. I think there was an issue collecting lives; I con't grab them. Otherwise a very fun endless runner, and the achievement system is a really nice touch.
PETA would like to have a word with you...haha. Cool game. Like the idea, and to be honest I thought the dog food trap was clever. That being said, getting a text message and being frozen while arrows fly at me is not. If reading a message had paused the game in some way, the experience would have been better. It was still pretty fun though!
Very cool. I really like how the narrative it told. The only thing I would suggest is to put text in where combat isn't heavy. at one point I flew past dozens of lines because I was pursued by enemies.
Wow. very cool. Great concept and great implementation. The theme is definitely subtle, but in there, which works really well with the message I got from the game. The audio was pleasant. Though I was being hurt, the sound was too soothing, haha. It would work better for when you spelled things right. Because there was no feedback, when I rushed to spell another word, I wouldn't see that I misspelled the one I just typed. Other than that, very well done!
Great sound track, great idea, good implementation. A level select would be neat too, because some levels I found fun.
I echo having missions. You have all the pieces for a nice little game!
I really liked your intro, and the mechanics that you put in. Very metroidvania. I also liked how you had to use the abilities to progress. Two things though: first your music needs to be longer. It really can get repetitive. Other sound effects would help that out also. Second, your check point system, while cool, is a tad frustrating. I am talking about a specific point where after falling on top of an old checkpoint, it became my new re-spawn location. I couldn't beat the game because I grew tired of repeating the same loop. It is a really great concept though. Good job.
I thought the graphics worked really well for this game. I think you could have also capitalized on the controls with some sort of obstacle course, but you can save that for another jam. Once I figured out how to move, going through the tunnel was neat. That would have been a great spot to add some narrative.
BOOM TISS BOOM TISS BOOM TISS BOOM. Seriously cool soundtrack. It works well with the game. I found the tone to be a bit humorous. Great concept, good execution, but when the screen rumbled I expected something to change.
the soundtrack was nice, but the sound effects could use a little work. Other than the mouse leaving my screen, it was a nice game.
I couldn't get the game to work. It crashes the second I click the .exe.
Hey Nesis, thanks for the feedback. Part of a good game is communicating to the player, and it could use some more polishing. To use the extinguisher, press X to pick it up. While you are holding it, hold space to use it. Press X again to drop it.
Sergraz, I definitely see that issue. Dominator_101, after the jam I'll keep tweaking the difficulty.
I really like the concept of the game. looking around for treasure: cool. Doing Missions: awesome. Buying stuff: great. That being said, the complete absence of sound really made it hard to feel apart of the world. there is no feed-back when I hit stuff, or when I pick up items. Also I had no idea how to bring back the mission log so I could remember what I was doing. Otherwise, need idea, and you got the mechanics done.
Just to be clear, actions are very limited, yes? Otherwise I thought it was pretty good joke. The environment looks awesome! It's a shame there aren't more mechanics.
