Love it! Definitely one of my favorites so far. :D
Pretty simple, but cool concept! I found a simple solution to stay alive forever, but a way to work around it would be to give the player a goal to move towards. Other than that, fun little game!
Surprisingly fun for so little to do in the game! The writing's fantastic, and I actually let out a few audible laughs while playing. :) Thoroughly enjoyed!
The base concept here works really well with the theme and has a bit of potential. Unfortunately I don't have any friends in the area right now to play with, so I wasn't too interested in playing for long. I'd love to see a more polished post-jam version of this with more variety, to play at parties and such. Could be a big hit!
Congrats on the Newgrounds feature! This is more polished than games that have been worked on for a month. Really blown away by what you've got here, it's super great!
Fantastic idea, I've seen it executed before, but your take on the desktop shmup is great! I've always been interested on how to make a game "transparent" like this, but never known if it was very easily possible. I'm sure I'll be seeing this higher up in the finalists! :)
Definitely one of the more interesting uses of the theme I've seen so far! Could use some polish on the controls, but still stands as a solid game. :)
The train part was really hard! Also took me a little while to realize the pillars moving by hurt you. The crouch animation was super nice, and I enjoyed the creativity in the final battle's mechanics. :)
Mechanics are really intriguing, but unfortunately the game falls a bit short in fun. Speeding up Mr. Bushido would definitely help, as a good portion of the game is waiting for him to reach the box you put out. Really interesting and you have a good prototype of what could be made into a much larger game. :)
Love it! The zoom feature was something I considered, but didn't feel I could pull it off right. It was PERFECT in this. I quickly went from feeling like the master to an ant when the screen zoomed out, and that was pretty exciting. Great music, lovely art, and a simple but fun game!
This is another Ludum Dare entry that I would be completely down to play if it were made into a full game. Super cool concept, smooth, and quite entertaining! Only downside was it was a bit too easy to avoid the minotaur.
Took me too long to get around to playing this! Can't wait for the new levels. :) Fantastic concept.
Bit short of a game, but brilliantly smooth and polished. Can't wait to read through the source and see how you made it so fluid!
Not only did I really enjoy this game, I think it'd be really fun to make a real Banana TV that consists of 1-5 minute shorts and you'd be able to watch their reactions. Really hoping this places!
Needs quite a bit of work before it's fun, but congrats on making something for the compo! :) Finishing something is a huge accomplishment in itself.
You had me at red panda. Interesting game, don't know how well it fits the theme, but it's a solid game with a lot of atmosphere and a simple to follow story to keep you engaged from start to finish.
Challenging and intriguing! Most clever game I've seen so far this jam.
Surprised I've never heard of you, you seem to have quite a following on Twitter! I'm astonished with how full the game feels after just 48 hours, and plan on checking out your other games. Fantastic work here!
Fantastic compo entry! At first I didn't understand it, but once it clicked, I realized its brilliance. The game gets more fun the more you play it, and I'm really interested in seeing a more fleshed out version of this, with different levels and mechanics.
Music could also be cool, each color you leave behind be a different track, and the more of that color that's on the screen, the louder that track is (so it starts to fade out when it gets erased). So you could have a drum track, guitar, etc. Just my two cents. :P
Wow, this is definitely my favorite compo game of LD31. I spent somewhere around 40 minutes, and finally gave up at Beyond The End 1.
My favorite enemies were the orange ones (Tricky Little Buggers), since they not only solved my only complaint up 'til that point (that once you clear a maze of enemies, it's super easy to win by just continuing in one direction), but also were interesting in the sense that you have to use their own inertia against them.
I escaped to freedom! The game was super fun, and constantly reminded me of games I used to program years ago. You've inspired me to return to my roots and try incorporating them with what I've learned since I grew distant from them. Thanks so much for the great game, I really enjoyed it! :) Hope you score high!
Really great entry, best use of the theme yet. I ended up not knowing where to go at one point, all the areas I knew about weren't fully accessible. Would love to try again after watching a walkthrough. :) The hitbox on the player though... super annoying spikes could hit the tip of your beak and kill you.
I absolutely love games that have this hand-drawn look! I was a bit confused, the game doesn't make too much sense to me. I think I right clicked on the bed and the background color changed to green. Might want to clarify what's going on in the description!
Very nice for just under three hours! I enjoyed chasing thy booty.
The timing for the game is a bit challenging, but the base concept is brilliant and shows a lot of potential for your post-compo version! :) I hope development goes well for you.
I was pretty good at guessing the first round, then after that I started to have to look things up. Interesting game, though it's a bit to easy to unlock all the keys after just two runs around the board. And is the snowman saying "Cool shit"?
Clever twist on the concept! The art's fantastic, and the puzzles kept me challenged (only managed to make it halfway through. I'll try again some other time when I'm feeling smarter!
Neat take on the tower-defense formula! The "laser" when an enemy reaches Sol was my favorite part of it. I was assuming I was doomed, but then I was saved!
Hitting people is so satisfying! Both attacks feel great, and it's hilarious throwing people through the air and watching your creature catch them with its big tongue. I ended up liking the controls on Android more than the ones on PC. :) Fantastic entry.
Neat little idea you have here, took me a little bit to figure out the way the controls work. The ending had me laughing, and I like the overall concept. The only downside is it's kind of hard to tell what's going on at times, such as scaring someone too badly. I think I did it on accident and it seems kind of random. Other than that, this game's provides a good little laugh and a few minutes of entertainment.
I was able to get 544! Super adorable game, and would work well on mobile! Should definitely think about an Android/iOS port. :)
Great tunes and clever concept. Would be interesting to see with more difficult puzzles!
Fantastic concept, not sure if it entirely fits the theme, but original non-the-less! I obliterated the boss, with 180 health left over. Got two health scrolls, both with x2 power-ups next to them!
Super addicting! The Android version will most likely keep me entertained on long rides. :) I really like how the character shows up on both sides of the screen when you wrap around. Great attention to detail!
Woah! The game picked up pretty fast. I found it via your blog post asking if we can get to the boss, and I don't think there's any possibility of me ever making it that far. Enemies continue to spawn, and eventually there's too many on the screen to really be able to play. Really like it though, feels smooth and is an overall fantastic LD game. :)
Fantastic entry! The game's simple, takes a little bit to get used to, but ends up being a pretty interesting game. The way the town dynamically changed each was super interesting, and made it so it was required to do multiple playthroughs to see which type of people were causing the changes.
Only complaint is that when you die, it takes ages for all the new people to move in, which adds to the irritation that you've died. In the future, a skip ability would be fantastic. :)
I can't imagine the amount of work that went into making this feel intentionally laggy/glitchy, but it definitely paid off! This is hands down the coolest game I've seen thus far in this LD. Such a simple concept, but executed so well!
Tried out the Windows build, was updating my Android to 5.0.1 as I found the game, so I don't think I'll be able to try it on that. I really enjoyed it on Windows, and hope an Android 5 build comes soon so I can try it on that as well. :D
First game I had the pleasure of playing this jam, really enjoyed it! I breezed through the first 7 levels, then 8 & 9 gave me a bit of pushback, followed by failing level 10. Thankfully I had a bunch of points saved up, so I just kept pumping it into my spawn rate. :)
The game was incredibly charming and cute! The art was smooth and easy on the eyes, and music was the perfect vibe. Would be very into seeing a fuller version of this post-jam!
