LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

The Path of Least Resentment by Martin Vilcans 2015-04-26T21:13:00

Damn, that is difficult. I'm not bad on first minutes, but at the end terrorists always wins :( I liked the graphics, it looks a lot like a tabletop game. Very interesting gameplay, good use of theme. Congrats!

Empty Promises by elitegoliath 2015-04-26T17:10:00

I surely liked humour and use of theme is ok. I generally agree with other commenters, expecially the fact that is too easy to get stuck on trees / lakes / borders / etc. Only I found strange nobody said that "It Really Whips the Llama's Ass!" yet! XD

Bubble Trubble by Jon Reid 2015-04-23T20:08:00

Great graphics! The music and sounds were also really fun and good... great job!

Daygore Bunko by SonnyBone 2015-04-27T20:49:00

One of the best games I tried. Hard and unforgiving, but you get better every re-play. Neat and cool graphics, I liked audio effects too, so "sdeng!". First time I managed to transform it was amazing, really! I only hopes it lasted longer. Also, enemies should drop more health :)

Eye Contact by Dark Arts and Sciences 2015-04-22T12:54:00

Creeeeeeepy!!! :) I really appreciate the idea. I'm so sorry you you could not develop it entirely.

slappy the frog goes to town by rubna 2015-04-21T20:49:00

A bit difficult to grab the key (it keeps pointing at eyes), and a bit difficult to throw it onto the gate. Anyway really really fun. Sounds are good, I enjoyed especially the one used when people (?) talks. I liked graphics too. the ending is quick, hilarious and unexpected XD

Avian Days by esayitch 2015-04-21T18:43:00

I really liked the idea, it's a bit difficult and it feels weird whend you get back to the checkpoint.. but really great game!

Ultra Hat Dimension by Crowbeak 2015-04-21T21:17:00

Music is great, sounds are funny, gameplay is strong and addictive. I stopped at 2-4 because I wanted to play other games, but it's on my desktop and I will surely continue it. Really great!

Small Popcorn Adventure by cinnamonmelonpig 2015-04-21T21:41:00

Surely the strangest weapon so far. Controls are not tricky for me, but gameplay is very difficult and requires very fast reflexes. The music is popcorny, yes, ahahahah, it fits really good.

Leaf Blower by phi 2015-04-22T19:18:00

This was really better and darker than i expected, i loved it!

Perdam et Creem by Hackingroelz 2015-04-22T23:54:00

Nice work, and level design, cute graphics and game mechanics.
PS: on the third level there's a shortcut into a wall and maybe an in-game note on controls would be helpful.

Freddy The Frenchman by PyroSneak 2015-04-26T09:46:00

Nice game, really simple art, music but thats a good thing! The gameplay is also pretty smooth :)

Specter Snap by Snicklodocus 2015-04-26T09:41:00

Solid Game!

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-21T19:27:00

Awesome! I love it! It gets a bit weird on the poles but its really a great game!

This was a little confusing but the throwing buildin stuff was cool!

Scramble by BasmanovDaniil 2015-04-26T10:05:00

My best score is 74 and 1:30 survival! Fun game!

Katsaridaphobia by CluelessGames 2015-04-23T20:04:00

I guess i have Katsaridaphobia now ahahah so i guess it works! ahaha great concept!

The Can of WhoopAss by MrRoboman 2015-04-21T20:47:00

Hi, I saw that the score does not reset at the GAME OVER. But, relly fun to play.

Daunting Disorientation by Ronin748 2015-04-21T21:18:00

Great concept! I hope you get the chance to add more to this in the future. One of the best games i've played in this LD

Blanket Girl by Chippington 2015-04-21T21:39:00

I really loved the 2D character in the 3D world! This has a lot of potential, keep on developing it!

B • Scott by Tridecimal 2015-04-21T20:54:00

Great idea! The dungeon reminded me of Zelda, nice!

Sinner Party by Zemmi 2015-04-21T19:14:00

I liked it! It's really original :)

Gravity Diamond by crewderek 2015-04-27T21:07:00

Did you recorded all audio effects using your voice? Ahahah, great! We also thought about it, but then we went for some 8bit sounds instead :)

Concept and gameplay is interested, I really appreciated the tutorial too. Maybe it's a little too easy to get stuck on walls or because you make a sphere fall down when it is not intended (see level 1).

QTST by DeltaF1 2015-04-26T21:30:00

I liked the graphic style, I love 3D pixels, really! Those flames, bats, ooohh those cubic blood drops! XD It reminds me of Eldritch or Delver.

Unfortunately it is too hard for me, or I didn't get something, because I can't go past the room with the ladder :( Maybe you could make enemies bounce back a little when hit? ...Also, I played fullscreen, but mouse cursor is really disturbing: I would have hidden it and placed a fixed cross in center of screen, what do you think?

Overall a good entry, nice use of theme with the impromptu, gradually improved weapon, congrats!

A Knife Made Of Whispers by managore 2015-04-26T21:36:00

Another art-style masterpiece from Daniel Linssen. You can't get how much I love that RGB-shifted black and white, wow!!!

The only flaw, this time there is one, are controls. Jumps are too "strong", the player gain speed too easily.

One of potential winners for me! Congrats!

Saving Bacon by hrd_games 2015-04-28T18:22:00

It does look good, AI is great, but for some reason wolf get stuck every time at the entrance of house, losing HP...

Saving Bacon by hrd_games 2015-04-28T18:23:00

Oh, ok, sorry, I misunderstood HP. Now it does make sense XD

The War Dog by Xinelu 2015-04-23T12:05:00

Sooo sad. But really fits the theme. and I liked the music. Thanks.

The Gallery by Kavehes 2015-04-26T17:00:00

Liked the original gameplay and graphic style a lot. I'm not sure about the theme. I played a lot, but I'm a disaster! XD

Stoned Scarecrow by gillenew 2015-04-21T11:39:00

it doesnt always shoot when i press P but its really fun and the sprites are great!

Neon Mirror by qwitwa 2015-04-23T19:57:00

I tried it but after like 10 or 20 seconds i get a crash... something about the position of a new "pinkwhirl"...

Deadly rain by Sublustris 2015-04-21T19:17:00

I loved the art, great job! It's a bit sad bad its cool!

Fish Slap by LordKawaii 2015-04-21T21:47:00

Very Cool. Pressing A does not restart the game.

Good Grandpa Simulator by eddynardo 2015-04-21T19:49:00

Great Job! The heart thing is really nice!

I don't feel like shooting right now! by fragileannihilator 2015-04-28T19:47:00

I think i'm slightly dumber now ahhahaha i loved its super fun!

Unconventional Weapon by grimer30 2015-04-27T19:36:00

I loved the music used with a beautiful location, it's indeed a relaxing experience. Unfortunately there's no mention of the theme and no game mechanics.
PS: nice easter egg ;)

Celebrity Fart by lucien 2015-04-21T19:46:00

Very Weird!

Spitball Shooter by ocarinasurge 2015-04-21T19:30:00

It's fun :) it sure need a bit of polishing but its fun anyways!

ROBOTO by gabrielbasea 2015-04-21T19:23:00

Woah! This is cool! but you should write a list of commands in this page... it took me a while to figure them out!

Hennery Defense by Dagatts 2015-04-21T21:19:00

Hi, you can play this game with only one finger. The idea is good but you could develop il better, for e.g. without infinite eggs.

Stafe by SnowHydra 2015-04-27T20:33:00

Amazing game!
Love graphic, clean and pretty.
Really great idea and cool puzzles.
Great work!

Great Game, really fun and innovative!

LD33 — You are the Monster

The Alchemist by sydan 2015-08-24T02:24:00

Really love the graphic, really nice entry!
I suggest you to find a way to stop wall-walking (run towards a wall while alternating directions) because it can make the game too easy.

The Wolf Comes Out at 18:00 by Stephen Patrick 2015-08-24T02:37:00

Great work, nice concept and good realization (games playable from the browser are always great).
I don't know if it's intended but you can feed indefinitely from a dead body of a villager or from his tombstone. Also sometimes the map don't move around when you walk around the corners.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Don't Mess With Totems by winesays 2015-12-15T13:01:00

The Graphic is gorgeous and I really love it!
The idea is really nice.
The controls feels not so reactive to me.
There are lose conditions where the player feels that the game is unfair (thorns on both side...)

UPSQUID by 01010111 2015-12-29T18:46:00

Loved the (super) reduced palette pixel art. It is fun, I enjoyed it. Maybe you can release a mobile version, looks perfect for casual gaming. Nice usage of theme.

There's Always a Bigger... by Jerre 2015-12-17T21:14:00

Absolutely, the screenshot does not do justice to the game! :) Not a new concept, but fun and well executed. Sounds & music could add a lot in this case.

Growing Wings by Fadobo 2015-12-15T13:00:00

The music is very relaxing. I enjoyed it. The backbround was really good but I'd like the bird more detailled.

S(p)eed by Dayko 2015-12-19T16:45:00

I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT.

Add a score and this will be perfect!

One of the best entry I have seen so far

Snowman's Land by fishtrek 2015-12-30T18:56:00

+++ Clever idea, great use of theme!
+ I enjoyed it and retried multiple times.
+ Minimal but effective graphic style.
+ Nice UI, liked the font :)
- Music is not bad, but sounds they are :)
--- Installer!!!

Carrot Stories by JaviCepa 2015-12-15T20:46:00

Gorgeous game!

Ministry of Growth and Information by ashdnazg 2015-12-17T21:52:00

Good idea, it's always nice to find something different. Congrats for the effort you made on voice acting and writing! English is not my language, but I had fun listening to all the stations. Howsoever, I get it but I'm not sure about the theme.

Crooked Town by TeamEagle 2015-12-16T22:08:00

Loved the art (I love low poly, hope it'll became as popular as pixel-art), and the music, wow! Really fun. "Hey little pregnant lady, what are you doing in the woods?!?", ahahah.

Jokes aside, the most difficult part is picking up women: they do not "snap" it when they should, and I found one on a roof, maybe you need to check where they spawn. I get the theme, but it's a little weak.

Void by bakudas 2015-12-17T22:42:00

I loved graphics and music, among the best I've seen. Unfortunately (as other have pointed out), controls ruin the experience for me. IMHO they're not intuitive, and feels a little laggy.

Disassemble by Tommislav 2015-12-30T19:06:00

+++ Solid gameplay, nice!
++ Great idea, fantastic use of theme.
+ Well balanced.
- Controls (1), can't get confortable with them. I'd used up for thrust and spacebar for fire, something like that.
- Controls (2), I involuntary disassemble the ship too often. I'd used long-press of keys to do it, so you will not accidentally do it while tapping furiously :)

Rebel Dancer by Y.T. 2015-12-19T16:36:00

I think a funky or disco music would work better. But, I liked the graphics and the idea.

Longbeard by Joe Williamson 2015-12-29T18:48:00

I'm growing my beard too. But it's not blue. It doesn't have super power then, does it?

01 by suppi 2015-12-16T21:15:00

Not sure if the game keeps freezing when Running or running tests, or it's me not getting something. The list of instructions, which is crucial to play, is at very the bottom of the page and I noticed only after a while. If it freezes because HALT instruction is not included, maybe you can think about some warning or "restart" button. Anyway, like many said, it's not accessible to the most of people :(

Grow the herd by Jan Peter (jpdev) 2015-12-17T21:27:00

Art & animation are good. Sounds are very fun.

The viewport is far too zoomed in my opinion; in fact you made the minimap a key element, and I played all the time looking at the it. That's sad because you can play (looking the map) OOOORRR you can look at the cute graphics :) Zoom out the camera, and make the minimap less important, IMHO it should be just a tool to see where are remaining sheeps when you are near the end, not the main thing you look at while playing.

Radical Revolver Recoil Rampage by AndreasL 2015-12-16T21:33:00

Mobile success in 3.. 2.. 1.. :) Really fun, can't get past 24, but I tried countless times! Great concept, perfect gameplay. I found that I can jump only after a while (and by accident), maybe you can write that down. Music is nice and fits well. I need one more star for the "theme" vote.

Reap by managore 2015-12-16T20:44:00

Excellent as always. I'm a long time fan of your work, and you always remember me why. Art and colors are beautiful, really takes you to that little world. Wind/sea noise is very effective, but a little boring given the time you need to play it: maybe I liked some random mixed drones more. You took the two-buttons theme a little less strictly than the average (given the d-pad), but that's ok.

Lorenzo.

bat story by maunovaha 2015-12-15T12:35:00

I love it! I love the colors and the music, the bat is tooo cute! The gameplay is very creative!

Battle Rose by goodbadokay 2015-12-16T18:56:00

very enjoyable game! I liked it.

Rollin Lemmin by PixelStuff 2015-12-30T18:27:00

+++ Graphics.
+ Nice use of theme.
- WebGL build doesn't run on Firefox and Chrome, I ended up downloading the Windows build.
- You can remove the *.pdb from the zip to make it quicker to download, they are not necessary.
- Can't get past the first hill O.o.
-- You could add the fox in-game, not only on the top bar.

Garbage Run by Dege 2015-12-17T00:15:00

Thank you all for comments and suggestions. We are really happy for all this nice feedback! Yeah, you are absolutely right about the "dumping" sound, unfortunately we didn't notice it before submitting, we were in such a hurry! Next time we will listen carefully to all sounds *after* the first time while creating them.

@Ayaya33 @puddelipip @jackyjjc @Drury: Great suggestions, guys. In fact a tweak on the random garbage generator algorithm that avoids vertical aligned trash couldn't be so difficult. We didn't thought about it.

@munchor: Thanks! We removed the "(untested)" label.

@WebFreak001: I had graphic libs issues on Ubuntu 64 bit, solved installing a couple of i386 packages. Don't know if it's the same for you. We'll try to export both for 32 and 64 to see if it solve the problem. And, still today we think that we made the right thing focusing a little bit more in graphics, instead of putting more gameplay: we're quite sure we wouldn't had time to add "decent" upgrades/enemies, probably we would come out with a uglier game with no upgrade nor enemies anyway :) However, we'll sure add that stuff if we'll develop the idea post-jam.

Yggshroom by Ghen 2015-12-17T22:31:00

Great entry! Congrat! Really fun, I played two or three times (actually, more, see bug below) until I managed to win it, and this is not obvious. Use of both themes is simple but effective. Liked the graphics, you can improve but the pixel art is nice. Audio is 100% guessed.

I experienced an annoying but a couple of time. If you push toward the mushroom (ops! yggshroom, sorry), you can be pushed to the left of it, and then you are stucked there untile death :( Hope you can fix it!

Yggshroom by Ghen 2015-12-17T22:33:00

Uh, one more note: the font. You shouldn't have used it, or better, if you like that font you should have "copied" it in pixel art. I like the title screen a lot, but that font really ruins the pixel art atmosphere.

2Door by Polith Games 2015-12-16T23:43:00

Stylish! Loved the glitch-like shaders. Looks easy but it's not. Symbols are different but difficult to memorize/distinguish at the same time, as they should ;)

Flip Flop Adventures by Nibbles Team 2015-12-16T18:51:00

I really like it! I love the music and the mechanic is very good!

liniums by 2pae 2015-12-30T18:44:00

+ Overall it's a solid entry, I liked it.
++ I enjoyed playing it, I kept retrying until I beat it :)
+ Simple but effective use of the theme.
++ Nice minimal graphics.
- The final screen is spoiled in screenshots XD
-- The music is not bad, but you could easy make it loop seamlessly.
- There's no final screen in the final screen :) I mean, when the last dialog ends, you could print something like "YOU WIN" and take me back to the start menu.

TreePlanting Simulator by Cursed Embassy 2015-12-15T12:32:00

The game uses to much memory.
I loved the music but I do not understand what to do.. I only planted one tree..
And I cannot exit, I had to kill the process :)

Jeff is having issues controlling his appetite by Ittai Manero 2015-12-17T23:37:00

Ahahahah, we also had the idea, initially, to develop something about a button-eyed kind of monster ;)
Congrats for your drawings. I liked music too, and texts are funny. I'm sad you couldn't finish it, I bet I enjoyed the ending :)

SpaceHex by Sheepolution 2015-12-16T22:23:00

Really really hard, maybe a little easier and I have tried more times. I loved graphics, simple, cute, functional, and... hexagon (which is a big plus! ahaha).

I completely agree with @Jstank for suggestion.

Hope you will develop more. This can be a mobile, casual, cuter version of FTL.

Klangwelt by retraffic 2015-12-17T23:45:00

Art & music are stunning, interesting concept. I liked the idea of different sound mixing together, and also the fact that you listen to always different stuffs mixed differently by moving around. Too bad only a few people have placed an object into the world, or at least it looks so. I wanted to place a tree, but I didn't understand why it is without leaves... Seasons? Anyway... Not sure about the theme, I'm I missing something?

KRMENI by Zulgot 2015-12-15T20:54:00

The hand drawn graphics are cool, its fun on 1v1!

Help!!! IM A CACTUS!!! by RadianINC 2015-12-29T19:34:00

The idea is there, theme usage is 100%, but it could be developed better. Three quick notes: 1) audio is not looping, I expected to loop, but there's a pause between end and restart 2) the installer, why? 3) I shouldn't be able to, but if I move out of screen I can't come back O.o

Aukan and the Sacred Sprout by matiasbontempo 2015-12-17T22:12:00

Nice drawings and animations! Controls feels a little unresponsive. Catchy music. But... Why I have to beat up such cute little ginger kids?!? :D

it grows! by skripteriant 2015-12-16T22:58:00

I liked the 3d pixel graphics, it reminds me Delver (check it out, it's your style, I bet you'll like it!). The monster drawings and lab are not bad. I found some desks in the rooms which are missing a collider, you can pass through them, check carefully next time :)

We know music is hard, but as @MrJoshuaMcLean said, you could add sound easily. Try bfxr, for example.

Two notes on the download. You should remove the two big *.pdf files (which are useless, only needed for debugging) to speed up downloads, and then pack it all in one single zip file.

Illogical Lives by marod 2015-12-17T23:23:00

Make texts last longer, I had difficulties to read them all! Loved the humour. IMHO you can improve it by adding lots of interactions with objects in rooms (which should trigger additional humour, obviously XD).

Decay Dynamics by NotoriousFlex 2015-12-29T19:23:00

Nice, perfect use of theme. Solid entry.

It's a pity you have absolute no time to look at the great animations, maybe you could somehow move the area you need to look at closer to the base.

At night by Pikas96 2016-12-14T17:38:00

Extremly simple (in a really good way) and smart game.
Simple but really nice graphic, smart usage of a really limited set of sprites, really lovely fog, nice level designwith a nice narration, I really enjoyed the alterations to FOV and speed of the character.
I'm only sad that there's only one level ;)
Great work!!

ROOM ZERO by dv49 2016-12-13T12:09:00

Really good entry! Ii liked the use of the theme and the dynamic! I could see it very good on phones too! Good job!

1 Room and 48 Hours by meg 2016-12-18T01:27:00

Super top! Very simple, but simply fun. I played 5 or 6 rounds, it's really quick and that's good, because you can try to be better in different "ratings" and read the fun comments without getting bored. Art is nice, IMHO the less the pixels, the better it is XD

One Room to Freedom by mianagames 2016-12-15T22:11:00

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn, I made it!I enjoyed it, but that was exhausting. I read that was your intention to make it hard, hard like for a 40yo to escape prison, ahahah, sure you reached your goal. Don't know how possibly you can get to 100 for the hearth attack. Anyway, I'll go buy a new keyboard.

One Step Back by Holofire 2016-12-18T01:06:00

Very nice entry. The graphics are amazing, character animations are perfect. You should really build upon the idea, I'd love to play many many more levels.

The Recursive Dollhouse by Omiya Games 2016-12-14T17:28:00

The best game I've played since now.
The game mechanics are really simple, and are introduced gradually, the puzzle design is really smart, not too linear and not too difficult. The graphic style isn't distracting.
Almost perfect game!!

The Classroom by palsina 2016-12-14T16:46:00

The creepy athmosphere of your game is really nice.
You could have made the axe more evident from the start.
An health meter for yourself would be nice.
Also some kind of demon health to know when the game sould end would help replayability.
It's possible to win or this game is a top score one?
I really enjoied the voxel style.
The camera is really sensible, but i think that helps with the scary settings of the game.
Nice entry overall!

Room 007 by Lancelot Gao 2016-12-15T21:57:00

Ahahahah, that's one of the best (if not the best!) I've played so far. The whistle at the beginning made me LMAO :) I like that graphic style, it's a 5-star for me, also colours are somewhat nicer than what you can expect. It's surely a 5-star for fun and humor too (I mean, a 007 room, really?!?). And it perfectly fits the theme. I hope you get to the top 10, at least of one of these categories!

The 5th Room by ahmedmohi 2016-12-18T01:47:00

Impressive graphics, story looks cool but it's just a beginning. For me, the mouse smoothing quite ruins all the experience, it is very frustrating, I suggest you to get rid of it.

I Clean Toilet by Flaterectomy 2016-12-18T00:10:00

Sooo gross, ahahah! Really great graphics, never though I'd ever see sh*t and p*ss in pixel art, and so well executed! Great entry, bravo!

Together by blaster391 2016-12-15T22:27:00

Cool idea, I like puzzle games and I didn't seen this mechanic yet. Nice sound effects: I'm a bass player, at first I didn't even noticed it, but it gets very very nice when you start moving more people more quicker. Just one thing: make people movement much faster, lot of times I guessed the solution just looking at the rooms (and that's ok), so it's not great to spend time spend just by looking at stuff moving.

Sleeper's Curse by scorched 2016-12-18T01:35:00

Unfortunately I didn't enjoyed it much because I couldn't figure out what to do. Anyway I appreciated the map and the fact that object are placed randomly each run. I had problems with collision boxes (I read others have too), at one moment I got stuck at the bottom of the first room, I couldn't move up any more.

SANTA'S ONE ROOM by cjke.7777 2016-12-18T01:15:00

Lol, poor elves! Graphics and sounds are nice, good job. I particularly liked the gift fountain that comes from the room when the elves are working.

GhostGun by pyokoanarogue 2016-12-17T23:40:00

I'm not very good at it, lol :) I barely heard the music and the sounds: when I read comment here, I had to up the volume really a lot, maybe you need some audio levelling, it is very very low.

One Room Hotel by TerraCottaFrog 2016-12-13T13:25:00

Absolutely love it!
The first thing that I thought was that we got the same idea, fortunatly your take is quite different.
I really did enjoy the progression of the difficulty in the levels.
I liked the graphical style of the game, is really simple, undistracting and the graphics are really easy to understand.
Nice entry!

The Last Evidence by Xerxes1138 2016-12-13T21:14:00

Suuuuupa creepy! Nice entry, I enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere is what I loved the most. The 3D pixel art is very nice, and the VHS shader is perfect. Why can't I vote you on the "Theme" category?

In One Fell Swoop by Patomkin 2016-12-14T17:01:00

Excellent entry, really unique, quite polished, simple and fun mechanich. Easy to understand and hard to master.
I'll suggest only a next dialog button or a skip button.
I also really liked the aestetic.
Nice Job!

What happened to Michael? by BubsyPoochies 2016-12-17T23:32:00

The story is very nice, and I liked the idea on getting more pieces of the story be re-playing it, really. Like already sad, the inability to fast-forward dialogues already read took off lot of fun from the game experience. Nice art.

Rotate the room! by DOXM 2016-12-17T23:51:00

Cool idea and very nice graphics!! I really wanted to enjoy it more, but a couple of issue brake the experience for me.

Like others said, controls are a bit hard: for me, the problem was that the same key moves the room always the same way, independently of the current room rotation. So, if you turn the room around, controls soon starts to be the exact contrary of what my brain expect. Can't explain it better, I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

Another issue is with the "transparency": I get the idea, and it is nice, but why making it all grayscale when seen behind walls? This way you can't tell red cubes from blue ones!

Last, I wasn't expecting that the ball can completely fell of the room.

AHSS - The Evil Room by Khaktos 2016-12-15T23:21:00

I managed to go out! Damn smart-home-stuff. The idea of the computer for tips is good. The timezone part was a bit tedious because you have to pause the game and check online. One suggestion: if the interaction (E) is the only action you can do, why not use the left mouse button? It'll be more convenient.

The One Room Experiment by Siegfried Croes 2016-12-15T22:57:00

Woooooow for the level transitions, ingenious idea to fit the theme! Art style is my personal favourite, I loved it, bravo! 5-star theme and 5-star graphics for me, I wish you the top 10 for these categories.

Professional music and audio, great art. As many said, very polished, doesn't look incomplete in any aspect.

cubica woo by image/31 2016-12-18T00:16:00

Graphics are nice. Like others said, rules are not clear at the beginning. After a while I think I got it and I started making more points. But if the goal is to fill the score bar, damn, that'll be hard!

LD38 — A Small World

Asteroid Architect by Erik Larsson 2017-05-02T21:10:49Z

I really enjoyed the game, the graphics and the music are really good. In a game like this probably some achievements or a top scoreboard would have helped the longevity, but overall I liked it a lot in it's simplicity. PS: my highscore is 258 years!

Shroom Island by jan5366x 2017-05-11T13:23:38Z

I agree with the previous feedbacks, give a lot visual feedback(attack, damage, enemies's healthbars, healer's radiuses, etc.) to the user. I still don't know what's the healer's radius, or how the attack works(radius, speed, damages). I really enjoyed the musics (the main theme reminds me a lot of Kung Fury!) Overall the game is simple, it's balanced in it's difficulty, and the graphics are not bad. For a first game created in 72 hours the result is actually good. Keep going in the next jams and remember to give more visual feedbacks to the player ;)

The Evolution Game by EvoGenGames 2017-05-02T20:39:20Z

I really love the idea, the experience is really innovative, it's like watching ants in a terrarium! Unfortunately like @la-mecanique-du-plastique I also found difficult to understand what's was going on, for example thers is no feedback of energy level or age of the creatures on the global map. Overall i appreciated your entry, it's definitevly really different from the others.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Cryozia by Flipsy 2017-08-08T11:49:07Z

Nice little game, it was really enjoyable. The graphic is simple but clear, but it could use some polish as suggested by @tyranosaw (by the way that is one of my favourite videos about game dev!). The game mechanic is really funny, I particularly enjoyed the level progression (something a lot of LD partecipants whon't consider at all). Another thing that was particularly enjoyable was that the game have a definite ending and is definitively the right length for a compo game. Overall really nice work (especially considering the compo limits!) congratulations!

Legendary Space Space Space by Rahtainka 2017-08-08T12:36:31Z

Really nice game! The first thing that comes to mind is that is really huge, it's incredible what your team made in 72 hours! The AI of the enemies is really hard enough to make the game fun to play and replay, at the beginning i expected a game where the main object is going from point a to point b not colliding with any asteroid, but is really much better that that! The game is quite polished, but could use some more feedbacks to the user (make the hits more noticeable, from or to the player). The graphics are really good and perfect for the genre! The controls were quite difficult to adapt to for me. For example, I expected that with A my ship sould always go to the left (but probably is a personal preference). The game could be "broken" by always shooting the bases from the distance and using the enemy projectiles to help the aiming. Overall is a really good game, for me is way above the average of this LD, it have some things that could use some work, but that's totally normal for a jam, and is actually a lot of fun to play, great Job!

Wall Charger Addict by Dege 2017-08-01T14:35:29Z

@zarkonnen at the beginning the roofs used the same exact skin of the road so I made another rooftop, probably I should have also changed it's color.

Trials of the Vapor Lattice by oxysoft 2017-08-01T10:25:51Z

This game is overall totally awesome! Here are some of my thoughts that I got while playing

Pros:

* The graphic is amazing: the textures, the modeling, the animations and all of the shaders give it a distinct and a really cool look * The music is really perfect and work well with the theme of the game and with the sounds * The story is nice, and have a really nice camera movement to watch wile reading * The final dialogue is really funny * The level of polishness of the game is really nice * (Loved the Easter egg)

Cons:

* The spirit often get stuck in small obstacles (that I was expecting to hover on) * Combat is just pressing x constantly and walking back (or walking around the lasers for the big heads) * At the starting puddle you can walk over the edges and skip half of the game or fall off the map * ~~The starting text is not skippable, while replaying for the Easter egg it could be not so much fun~~ edit: I noticed now that is indeed skippable with X, doh! * Controller support would have been cool

I must stress that I liked a lot the game, great work, please keep creating awesome experiences like this!

PS: how have you made the effect on the floor where the lines animate?

Glowsticks by ratly 2017-08-02T19:17:19Z

Nice effects and nice sounds/music they feels very well suited to the game's theme. I didn't get the connection to the game jam theme. The game mechanic is nice, but gets tiring really fast, especially without different levels or change in difficulty. The game was overall nicely polished and have an interesting mechanic, but lacks an ending (losing/winning), nice work for a game made in solo!

PLASMAGUN! by yuigoto 2017-08-09T19:08:34Z

Great work here, the controller support unfortunately don't work so good, when you leave the analog stick the aim will go back to the mouse cursor. Also the colliders for the plasma cans probably must be bigger. A bit of feedback to the user when he shoots int wall would be awesome. Another thing that was strange to me was that the enemies dealt so little damages that was easier to walk in the level to end it. The game is really fun to play, maybe the incredible amount of levels is not so good when playtesting for a jam, but it's an impressive feat . The level of polish is really good, with all kind of nice effects, really awesome work here! The theme of the jam is also followed in a really good way, nice work and keep going!

Dryad by Zarkonnen 2017-08-01T21:17:33Z

The game is really good, I particularly appreciated the graphic, really nice work on that. I also loved your take on the theme, it's quite unique, 75% percent of the games (including mine) have batteries discharging as the main mechanic! I don't like so much the controls, I prefer the super meat boy style in a plattformer, but the player can adapt quite fast. I really liked the loss of mental powers in a philosophical way. The game overall could use some polish, like healtbars for the enemies, more feedback, a time to practising with the control before the first enemies (at the start I attacked everyone because the symbols over the head of the people made no sense to me). Overall your entry is really nice, congratulations!

Power Knight by thomz12 2017-08-01T13:23:52Z

Whoah, the game have a really wonderful art style, It also have an almost extreme level of polish, really nice work here. It also have the best tutorial that I've ever found in an LD game. The mechanic is really nice, simple but addictive. One little negative note is the huge increase of the difficulty level in the second-last world (it took me some time to figure out why I was suddenly losing). Overall is a really awesome work, congratulations!

PS: add http:// in front of the game's url to get a clickable link!

Runner Out Of Power by Mathiouza 2017-08-09T11:55:03Z

Really good game, the graphic/music reminds me somehow of McPixel (I don't really know why!) and is quite good. For me two big pain points were the time i takes to restart the level, and that there is no graphical way to know when to press the buttons (one must memorize the levels while playing, like a blind rhythm game). The levels difficult increase is really big, but for me tat's not an issue at all. The game is funny to play and probably of the right length for a Compo game, overall I liked it a lot, congratulation on your work!

Decarathon by TurbotFish 2017-08-08T17:25:20Z

This game is really incredible! The level of polish on this entry is totally top notch, this game can be used to actually teach how to present a game graphically. The pixel art work quite good and have a great style, except maybe for the the people in the background tat assists to the races, they feel a bit too static or too low details for me. The music and the sounds also work quite well with the game and are quite good to listen too. The gameplay is quite fun, and the progression system (with sponsors and cups to collect) was quite enjoyable too. The game unfortunately felt a bit too easy, especially after some upgrades to stamina. Another thing that was strange for me was that the marathons were runnable again in the same year, but that's probably linked to the random generation of sponsors. At the end I discovered that the game was easily finished by pressing constantly s d and space together (but the sponsor will always reject the results?!!!!)

Overall the game is awesomly presented, it's fun to play, is not too short and not too long (it ends when the gameplay start to feel repetitive) and the theme of the jam was followed quite literally! Congratulations on this awesome entry!

Blocks of Power by mortus 2017-08-02T20:20:37Z

Awesome entry, it's incredible the amount of work that you've done un 48 hours totally alone. The graphic is really great and vast, you also applied a nice level of polishment. I enjoyed the little details, like the nice grid with the shadow effect when building or all the nice particles. I also liked the music and the relative sound effects, they are really appropriate to the game's theme. I also enjoyed a lot the fact that this game is really different from most of the others in the LD, nice idea on the gameplay, I find it really neat. I appreciated a lot the tutorial with all the nice images in the game page, great work also on that! The game is really difficult, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, the fact that also your weapons consume energy is a nice idea. The energy bar unfortunately is not so noticeable, it took me some lives to notice it's existence, so that could use some work. Overall impressive entry, congratulations!

Robot Kernel PaniK by Le Slo 2017-08-01T13:09:42Z

I'm really sorry, but it isn't clear how to play. I understood how to activate robots and how to make them gather food, but I still haven't managed to produce energy, so I get the gameover screen (nice touch here!) almost immediately after enabling a robot. Please write some lines here in the comments or in the description of the game on how to play (so people can rate the game).

Robot Kernel PaniK by Le Slo 2017-08-08T19:50:50Z

I came back to try your game, after the explanation the original version was still quite difficult, but now playable! The main game mechanic is interesting, you keep moving from a screen to another to micromanage the robots (the panels that break themselves are pure evil!) and to bring food back to the pipe (the robots consume a dramatic amount of energy to bring back crops!). The interface always gets in the way. Also a way to switch between screens with some hotkeys would have been awesome. I loved the aesthetic of the screen with the dirt on it, great idea! It took some time to get used to the way to control the robots, but after a while I got used to it.

Overall is a really good game, the amount of work that you put on it is really visible and it pays itself, great work!

Escape by Tamas Turi 2017-08-02T21:06:12Z

Great work here, the graphic style is really good and create a really good mood for the game. I appreciated a lot the in-game tutorial, it's simple and clear. The game mechanic is nice, and the energy depletion add a layer of urgency to the game. I appreciated a lot the color fading shaders when death is coming closer, is a really great touch! One thing I didn't appreciated is the fact that the levels don't resets themselves after death (only the player gets repositioned). It felt expecially wrong when I got stuck in the wrecking ball part, I gave up on the third restart of the game from the beginnig! The game overall is really enjoyable, has a grat graphic and have a lot of nice details, nice work!

Temple of Illumination by Johngun 2017-08-08T18:16:13Z

This game is huge!! It's great that you made it in the 72 hours of the jam! The level design is really good and have a really nice increase in difficulty level, you did a really great job here! The graphic is also really nice, the level of polish is quite good. Maybe the player animations could use some work, but they don't feel too bad. Unfortunately the wall jumps didn't fell good to me at all, it took some time to get used to it and in the last 2 levels the game feels unfair because of it, and because the spikes (or the player) have a huge collider. Except this the game is extremly good, I also liked a lot the last level with "the end"!

Overall the game is really good, congratulation on your work, and keep making games!

PS: @johngun did you used some assets for the tilemaps?

Plugzzz by mamoniem 2017-08-02T19:55:00Z

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of Puzzle game in LD, and this one is really good, especially considering the timelimit. The arms of the robots are really, nice, I even love when they glitch awfully in the last level!! The game have an excellent level of polish, with good feedbacks, a really good intro screen and really nice effects. Unfortunately on my pc the game is awfully slow, but I've seen in the video that on your pc it runs smoothly, so probably is a problem with my machine. Overall I enjoyed a lot the experience, good work for so little time, congratulations!

Blackout Defense by Jacky2611 2017-08-01T20:02:03Z

The game is nice, it's actually great considering the time of creation. The first time I booted the game I was a bit lost, but then returned to the game page I read your instructions and got immediately how it worked (except for the red generator that took me a lot to understand that was actually placeable, because I was waiting for it to turn white). I do agree with @steing, a little bit of feedback wold be awesome. Also some fast polish (screen shaking, particle emitters) would be make the game awesome. I also really appreciated the fact that someone using unity actually used the HTML5 export, thank you!

PS: if you used assets not made by you, you should opt out the votes in that category. It seems to me that you're using the same awesome tileset that I used too as the base for my game: http://kenney.nl/assets/topdown-shooter

Titan LD39 Compo by NamInUz 2017-08-02T19:30:59Z

Awesome, finally a game with controller support! Thank you a lot!!! I love the "minimap" with your current position, is really neat. The graphics are really good, I like your style a lot. The gameplay idea is really good and play nicely with the jam's theme, unfortunately the level of difficulty is really high! I also enjoyed a lot your Jam version with a lot of enhancements, especially on balancing and polishing, really good work here. Overall really great game for a 48 hours compo, nicely congratulations!

In Battery We Trust by PGDevPatryk 2017-08-01T12:44:27Z

Nice entry, the game mechanic is really neat and also make the game quite scary. The game lacks some polish, like make the pickables items different, and make the player understand when he picks up something, it took some time to me to understand that some pickables are infinite (and some others aren't). I also appreciated that the game is developed closely to the theme. Nice work! PS: the quit button in the main menù won't work

The Floor Isn't Lava by InappropriateName 2017-08-01T20:49:01Z

I really LOVE it, this is one of that really nice games that get ignored for the lacking in the graphic part, thank you for voting and commenting my game, so that I found yours!

The graphics are not great but works very nicely (maybe the electricity could have been clearer in yellow. At the start I was thinking that there were sprinklers on the roofs!). The take on the theme is pure genius, I really enjoyed it! The jumps were calibrated really nicely, and the checkpoints were in the right places (not too spaced, but not too close either). The game could use a bit of polishment too, for example at the end when you "win" you can fall off the map in the "unity default camera blue", there's no way to exit the game (except for ALT + F4), you can also fall off the screen at the very beginning by going left, and some way to distinguish checkpoints could be awesome. But overall your game shines anyway, congratulation for the great job and thanks.

Power Cores by Ray 2017-08-01T20:19:53Z

The game is simple but works quite well, as a suggestion, next time, try to use navmeshes for enemies AIs. The graphic is really simple but works. The game is surprisingly polished for being your first one, but misses something, like pause menu or a way to exit the game after the end (except for ALT + F4). I also appreciated a lot the fact that you kept the game simple, you used basic shapes as all your elements and you managed to finish it in time, nice work!

LD46 — Keep it alive

ALIEN RESCUE by Imphenzia 2020-04-25T16:53:38Z

The graphic is excellent, especially the title screen, the fog is awesome. As others have said sometimes the alien get stuck in a car and force a gameover and it feels a bit unfair. The link with the theme is really fun, and the music is great (but on my browser does not loop perfectly). The difficulty curve is great because if you keep playing it you can manage to really get better. Really polished entry overall, great work!

FlameOver by fancy89 2020-04-23T10:21:09Z

@jbdev It would be awesome to know what was confusing to you in the learning on how to play or in the tutorial, so that in the future we can be clearer. Also if you have some idea on how to teach the game better it would be also greatly welcomed.

VillageQuake by Kontroman 2020-04-25T17:39:51Z

Can't stop laughing, the voiced soundtrack is pure genius. Probably a score would be nice to have in a game like this. Also the most effective way to play it was to keep clicking to try repairing the most number of damaged buildings, and the always present repair sound was a bit annoying. Also the damaged building were not clear enough for me.

LD46_Charger by Talia 2020-04-25T17:29:06Z

This is really a lovely game, the idea of powering the phone and defending it with other sources of energy is great. A tutorial or some explanations on how it worked could have helped a little bit. In the first level I used only the batteries to kill the enemies, and just from the second or third level I started to use them. Talking about levels I really liked the ones with fewer batteries that worked almost like small puzzles. The controls didn't feel right and the platform part of the game was quite weak, but that's not really a problem. There are 2 huge bugs: if you get to game over you can keep playing and simply carry on with your game ignoring the game over screen, and you can make the phone reach to 0% during the preparation phase of the level with no penalty at all. Overall a really good game, nice work!

Try To Not Die by DrKfir 2020-04-21T12:57:44Z

As others said, it was quite diffcoult to understand how the controls worked. Also it took me a while to understand that you got multiple lives that kept the precedent score. Getting to 50 points in easy mode was really hard, but writing that the target was 50 helped me to keep the focus, nice work on that! Also i really liked the feel of the level.
