Cool concept and pretry funt to play however the controls were a bit confusing because a/s did not do anything (for me) and i kept trying to use them to turn instead of the q/e keys

Thanks for the feedback. ASD control side and forward thrusters (of which there are none in the starting ship) and do almost nothing in the beginning. If you'd like to steer with A/D you can reconfigure the controls in Unity launcher when you first start the game. Just set Rotation*/- axes to D and A.
Nice game, the controls are weird but I like it, it feels like controlling a heavy ship. The build system is original but a bit annoying because you can't add the parts where you want and have to precisely place them.
This is a fantastic game! You did this in 48 hours?
Pros: Playability, Music, Overall entertainment level.
Cons: Its kinda hard to identify the pieces that go together and/or not to destroy them from other ships.

This is great! I love that you can pick apart the enemies and bolt on new parts to your spaceship from their wrecks. Kept me interested for a good while, good job!
I really love this game... Very confusing at first - but once I got into it I couldn't stop.
I liked this game very much, but the fact that we can not move the pieces is frustrating because I would really wanted to make my ship as I wanted.
First off, this is jaw-droppingly impressive for a compo game. Everything looks extremely polished and you have a cool mechanic that seems really fleshed out, not to mention the enemy AIs and god knows what else is in here.
I played this about 8 times and couldn't get past the third room. I might try again later, because this does seem very interesting and potentially a lot of fun, but right now I feel like there's less of a difficulty curve and more of a difficulty skydive. It's like, first you have a room with another ship that can't even shoot you, and then you have a room with 3 ships, some of which shoot really quickly, and if you lose either your turret or your thrusters, you're dead (funnily enough, I don't think I ever lost due to losing or running out of battery).
Also, the instructions screen has way too much information to take in at once. I understand that this is Ludum Dare and there's limited time, but I would have found this much easier to get into if you had, say, 1/3 to 1/2 as many parts, and used the time saved to make a small tutorial on how to use build mode (a win-win in terms of accessibility). I only realized that I could rotate the building parts on my 5th playthrough or so, because the only indication of that is in small text at the very bottom of the instructions! It's also confusing which parts are allowed to go where (like you aren't allowed to place anything behind the thrusters, I think?), something a tutorial could also have helped with.
Some other notes: - Sometimes when I went into the second room, I found myself unable to rotate until some parts of my ship got destroyed. I'm not sure why this happened. - I also died twice on room 2 because I didn't realize I was in build mode and couldn't figure out why my ship wasn't moving. I think right now, normal mode and build mode look very similar, which is a little confusing. And given how difficult this game seems to be, I might suggest having a complete pause in build mode to give the player time to plan. And maybe just not even have the option to manually enter build mode, and instead enter build mode automatically as soon as you finish off an enemy core. - WASD to control thrusters is very confusing, given that your ship can be in any orientation so that W isn't always up. If you're going to use that control scheme, you should really specify which direction is which key at all times (though I'm not even sure that would help).
Reading back, my comment sounds more negative than I intended it to be, so I just want to say again that this is extremely, extremely impressive for 48 hours of work. The visuals and sound effects are incredibly polished, and the gameplay has so much to it; I just wish that there was a smoother introduction because of how complicated it is. Awesome job!
And now I want to go play some Galaxy Trucker. :P

Very very cool. I dig this sorta FTL meets Asteroid vibe. I wish the building was either smarter or more automatic, having to rotate everyone component gets frustrating real fast. Other than that this is really great, the physics and damage felt real nice and I could see playing this for a very long time.
@roycocup Yeah, I should have at least mentioned somewhere that not all sides are attachable on all blocks, it's kinda obvious on engines and spikes I think, but on structural blocks it could be hard to realize. Maybe that's because in my placeholder graphics structures were a lot thinner and farther from the side they can't be attached to.
@themonax I'm not even sure why did I disallow that to be honest. It would probably take 1.5 minutes to let you do that, all the mechanics are already in place (taking blocks from yourself would be no different from taking them from the wreck) but I guess it is what it is now, not gonna change it afterwards. It makes the game different though, not strictly worse, and not entirely in a bad way.
@qzqxq Thank you for such a thorough feedback! Difficulty is definitely over the top, I didn't have time to tweak it. Honestly, I should have taken another day and enter the jam probably. I think I've reached the 5th level? Or is it 6th? There's a room with mostly turrets and then with mostly kamikaze ships and I've completed both, but not the level after that one. And even if I'll get to the last level (which I'll try to do but it's hard) I probably won't be able to complete it. It's kind of a boss fight.
I have no idea why you've had the bug you've described, never happened to me.
And your comment doesn't look negative at all for me, thanks for the kind words. Actually, I think most of the comments on LD are too kind in many cases. Either people are afraid of rating revenge or just don't want to hurt someone's feelings or something. I personally always try to point out bad things in my comments because it's the way to perfection in my opinion. Blind praise is never good for a creator.
Also, believe it or not, I've remembered about Galaxy Trucker's existence about halfway through development or even later. I think after I've started drawing art and it's style, which is accidentally (subconsciously?) similar reminded me about it. And now I want to play it too.

This is awesome! The part assembly aspect is super cool and reminds me of Mind Rover. I really like how WASD operates the thrusters based on their orientation, at first I was a bit confused as to why I could only move forward but I figured it all out pretty quick.
I was going to complain about Q&E for rotation, but if you look at it from the aspect of being a penalty for not having a full set of thrusters then it makes sense to me. :thumbsup: :heart:
Wow really fun game, in the first level didn't really know what to do, I didn't realize that the floating object was an enemy. But when i did it just became super interesting, crafting you ship mid battle, shooting, flying. Had a blast playing it.

I liked how you can build and add on to your space ship and I like the music for this game. But Q and E was hard to turn the ship while using WASD.
I didn't really catch on at first, but after that I had a blast. I never really figured out about the assembly part, I'm afraid.

Ambitious, ambitious - a fully-fledged build system, AI, and audiovisual polish in compo time. I have a soft spot for games where building is a part of gameplay, and this is all around very solid.
9 levels is almost too much, because it gets quite difficult all of a sudden. But the game manages to make a first impression, and that's more important in a game jam.
Very cool idea and well executed. I was going to do something like this if the theme had turned out to be "moving fortress".
Awesome entry, it's incredible the amount of work that you've done un 48 hours totally alone. The graphic is really great and vast, you also applied a nice level of polishment. I enjoyed the little details, like the nice grid with the shadow effect when building or all the nice particles. I also liked the music and the relative sound effects, they are really appropriate to the game's theme. I also enjoyed a lot the fact that this game is really different from most of the others in the LD, nice idea on the gameplay, I find it really neat. I appreciated a lot the tutorial with all the nice images in the game page, great work also on that! The game is really difficult, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, the fact that also your weapons consume energy is a nice idea. The energy bar unfortunately is not so noticeable, it took me some lives to notice it's existence, so that could use some work. Overall impressive entry, congratulations!
Nice! Reminds me alot of Amalgamation http://www.indiedb.com/games/amalgamation Took me several restarts before I noticed there's a "warp to next area" button, and the power meter was hard to notice too. Other than that, great job on graphics audio and fun gameplay!
Neat! Great job with the music and sound too, which often get overlooked in the 48-hour compo submissions. It's impressive you were able to put together the audio and the graphics/gameplay over the course of the compo!
Amazing and I loved it. Impressed that this was done in 48 hours. Buildable and flyable spaceships are one of my favorite styles of games ever. Only thing I would have liked would be a control scheme where the ship always tries to turn to face the mouse, instead of Q and E to do that.
This reminds me of the board game Galaxy Trucker (which I really like). I've always liked the idea of piecing together "garbage" ships from scraps found around. This really scratches that itch. Amazing what you've accomplished in such a short amount of time. Excellent work!
Really nice entry. Reminded me of Captain Forever, which isn't a bad thing as that is a great game. Graphics are really well done as was the sound effects, a really good entry for the time we had.
Awesome ship building + asteroids style game. Feels kind of like a 2D robo craft/gratuitous space battle. I wish the pieces snapped to my ship easier, or gave feedback that it was going to connect properly.
