Its a pretty good game. I didnt quite get the rules of it but in the end I managed to get around ok. Theres a pretty good music loop and the audio is also pretty on point. Well done.
There seems to be quite a few things to buy to get you anywhere but I dont seem to be able to survive for long. A few more instructions would help the game substantially. I also did my game in java but I didnt use the framework you had, so maybe the next time I'll try that.
It looks like a good game but its hard to play when theres noone there. Also, its a bit far from the theme. But overall a good thing to do a network game.
Exellent game. I love this kind of strategy and the idea that meets "homeworld" makes it really good. Well done!
Hi Everyone! Thank you very much for your input. Let me just address some of the things here: - There IS a reset/restart button in the "r" key. - I guess the 0 minutes is bad logic somewhere. Thanks for that. I'll look into it. I tested it a lot, but I guess I never spent too long making the testing so... 0 minutes... - Inertia in space - I guess I started using a dampening effect to help the idea of "Running out of Power". Having said that, maybe the game would benefit from no inertia. - No sound loop - The sound should work on all platforms, but I was not able to test it, so I dont know how to fix that. The music loop is definitely a problem. I fiddled with the audio classes a bit but in the end I left it to play only once.
Thanks again everyone for the input! Really appreciated!
Hi Guys,
Thank you so much for your feedback. Its been really appreciated and I may consider really taking this game forward a bit more.
Just a quick explanation on a few things:
- I wanted to make more levels and harder but I think I ran out of time. There is code in there for things that never worked, namely a flight trail and some planet orbiting eachother which would be really great for the next levels. - The colour of the planets is relative to the amount of gravitational force they have. The closer to white they are, the stronger their gravity is. The darker/fader green are less powerful. Maybe I should have put this in the instructions... Sorry.
Thanks again everyone for the feedback. I learned just as much from your input as by doing the game! Royco.
Hi Kevin, I didn't use processing as much as the actual processing.jar library and eclipse, so I was unable to compile it to anything else but a jar file :( I'm now looking at other solutions for that sort of thing.
Thanks :)
Mortus, You are right. The Physics should really be adjusted. This was my first attempt and the puzzled needed a challenge but going forward it needed more balance in physics :)
Thanks for the feedback!
Kinda complicated at first to understand that you need to place the hub right next to the power supply and THEN make the next one in range... But its a fun concept. However, game crashes on the 2nd level (mac os) for me... maybe that was just me. edit: I just played the html version and its a bit different. I'm still playing in fact. I think its a combination of tower defense with "Perimeter" and thats an idea I always wanted to explore. So thank you for this.
It looks good. The fact that you made it for Android in itself is an innovation. Also, the idea seems to be pretty new to me so kudos for that...
Theres a slight problem with the cards as they dont display fully on my machine (html version) which has resolution 1900x1200 ... Good idea though.
This is a fantastic game! You did this in 48 hours?
Pros: Playability, Music, Overall entertainment level.
Cons: Its kinda hard to identify the pieces that go together and/or not to destroy them from other ships.
I gave it the highest scores so far! Congrats!
Standard Tower Defense with a twist... Not bad! :)
Pretty good game. The Stamina / Power analogy was good too. Good sound and good music. Overall fun.
No mac version :( Would you consider making a mac version later on?
This is got pretty good feeling to it. Well done!
Congrats on doing your first game for LD. Pros: You have good graphics and sound. Cons: Its really hard to navigate "wasd" when the player does not go wherever its pointing. I guess that may just be me.
Its funny and innovative. I gotta say the sound was good at first but the loop really needed to be a bit bigger as I started getting tired of it. Good game overall.
Pretty complicated to figure out what to do in the game without reading the instructions on here.
Is there a way that you could make a mac and html5 versions? That would be really helpful. It looks like my kind of game from the screenshots, but can't really compile it from source at the moment.
I know you say this is java for windows and I tried it on a mac, but it ultimately should be agnostic to platform shouldn't it? Anyway, I was unable to try the game... which is sad because I did mine in Java as well and I'm looking for a new framework to work with rather than Processing.
I loved this game. I found it confusing to operate but I think the idea is definitely the result of thinking story first and technique second. So well done and especially congrats for doing it in Pico :)
This is very good indeed! The screen size is actually too big for my screen but everything else is really good fun :)
I'm afraid your link is dead....
How did you make this? The source code is not there. Can you please upload the code?
Dude.... I dont think that link is going to work.
