Kinda complicated at first to understand that you need to place the hub right next to the power supply and THEN make the next one in range... But its a fun concept. However, game crashes on the 2nd level (mac os) for me... maybe that was just me. edit: I just played the html version and its a bit different. I'm still playing in fact. I think its a combination of tower defense with "Perimeter" and thats an idea I always wanted to explore. So thank you for this.

It's possible to softlock yourself in the "destroy nests" levels by building towers next to all the water, as it stops power-plants from charging power-hubs that are further away.
I didn't see any way to delete towers, and R restarted the entire game, not just that level
Also ran out of memory while playing, so there may be a memory leak somewhere, but it could also just have been a coincidence.
Great fun! Felt spreading it out over more levels will keep the player engaged. Mine also crashed after the last level. Good idea overall.

I found the memory leak and fixed it. I replaced the builds linked here. If someone thinks I should make separate links for that, then I can do that too :)
The only change between the builds is just how I clean up my particle effects. I used to do it in a way that kills one dead effect per tick (60 per second), and usually that's enough, but this game makes so much beam effects that it wasn't enough :D
Thanks for playing and sorry for the crash :)
it was a bit buggy and crashed on me twice but the interface felt good and the powerlines worked nicely, i didn't think it delivered too much with regards to theme as i never felt i was running out of power or that power was a commodity

If you run into crashes, could you let me know which build you were playing? Also, if you had built a ton of buildings or maybe something else :D Trying to track down the issue.
Overall, I liked how it played kind of like a mix of early Sim City games and tower defense games. It was a bit hard to keep track of what was within range of what, powerwise, but I think the concept is really cool
Reminds me of the WarCraft 3 custom map Power Towers. I like it! Got a crash in the web build on Win10 using FireFox 54.0.1.

Fun little tower defense game, maybe a bit too simple, some more variation would be nice. Also it was unclear that I first had to build hubs before building towers.

You can build towers right next to power plants, but the power plant range is so small that it's not really a good way to go about it :D
Quite a fun game. I wish you could see how far each tower's power reached however, because not every tower seemed to reach as far as the grid indicated. I also ran into a Runtime error while playing the third level, so that's something you may want to look into. Anyway nice game.

It is reaally heavy on my laptop for some reason. I had to stop at level 3 because it stopped the game. I do actually like the mechanics of the game, and if you would put enough time into it, it would make for a nice tower defend game! I do think that there are many of this kind of games though, so you do need something interesting to differentiate yourself from other games. But the basis of it is already here. First of all, you need some kind of money system, because now I could just spam towers and stuff. All in all I think it has good potential to become something nice! It does need some work though. Well done!
Really fun idea, but unfortunatelly lacks a lot of polishing. First of all, there a re no resources, which makes it really easy to accomplish goals. Secondly, for some reason after building some towers, game started to lose performance. Except that it could have been really nice.

@stefvanschie Yeah, that was an idea that was left on my todo-list when time ran out :D The simplest possible way I could've done that was to restrict building to powered squares. That would've been smart.. Now that I thought of it :D
@FurkanFS The missing currency-system was a painful realization at the end, but couldn't put a bad one in. Rather wanted to let the player play around and build stuff (destroying the nest isn't that easy, even with unlimited building).

Nice, I was drawn here by the art style but the idea was fun too.
Game itself was neat, however I had quite a few technical issues. Playing on OS X, initially all fonts were missing, being replaced with the [?] glyph, console had no 404s for the font failed, only missing .mp3s. I refreshed a few times, and it finally loaded. The cursor capturing was also a bit of a nuisance, I had to keep flipping to another app to make my cursor visible, and then flip back so I could change tabs.
As far as the game itself, I think the levels and objects were well designed, ignoring the obvious current/resource issue. I like the design of the buildings a lot, and it was easy to understand how everything worked. I think given the connectivity mechanics, it'd be useful to have an indicator of the other building's connection radius as well, particularly when you're linking the distributors up to generators; I kept missing them by one tile because I'm bad at remembering.
Solid entry overall, good job.
I like this game, it was fun to play. The "Destroy the 3 nests" level had some slowdowns on the HMTL5 version. I liked that each level has objectives and it wasn't just survive. Others have mentioned the missing items, so I won't reiterate them here. You should continue to work on this game. You have a diamond in the rough that just needs some polish to make it shine!
I was really frustrated by not being able to reset a level, and died quickly on level 3 before I was even able to place offensive towers. Some basic quality-of-life polish would go a long way in this game.
Great game, very original. Interesting to see that a tower defense style game with no resource limits can still be challenging. I never completed the nests level though. My front line was chronically underpowered and I couldn't figure out how to connect the hubs to deliver the power. I inched my way 2/3 of the way but at some point I gave up. Maybe instructions on how the mechanic works might help.
I didn't get any audio. I am on Linux and Firefox.

good job
I actually liked that you ended up giving us unlimited money so I could just play around. I was having trouble directing power to the right parts until I realized this, and then I could just experiment until I got it working. There aren't too many TD games where you have to worry about power and lines so this was a nice take on the genre. TBH I expected there to be more of these (we planned one ourselves) but that didn't end up being the case.

The powergrid works superbly, and the TD mechanics are superb. As other people mentioned, it seems to crash from time to time.
