This one looks cool, but the rules are not really clear. Is it possible to lose points? Should I capture 'clean' territory, or should I focus on re-capturing other players' territory? Is there any incentive to reset by hitting the wall? It feels like it could be a very good competitive game if the rules are refined.

Music is awesome, and title screen looks nice, but the game itself is a bit disappointing. What are the rules? what are my choices? what should I do and avoid, and why it could be fun? LD is about making a complete game, so I suggest you to prototype more such games and see for yourself which ones are fun, and only then you hook your (awesome) pixel art and music.

I think I don't understand what's happening on the screen, what the score means, what the goal is. I'm generally clueless.

Graphics are nice. Like others said, rules are not clear at the beginning. After a while I think I got it and I started making more points. But if the goal is to fill the score bar, damn, that'll be hard!

THIS GAME IS SO COOL!
But the commands are a bit uncomfortable

zettelkasten 2016-12-18 12:06

Looks pretty cool, well done and polished. But I do not get how to win the game, I feel like it is impossible to fill the entire progress bar above your score.
Also, the AI is pretty dumb.
Still, nice game!

Interesting concept and I like how the cubes "roll", but I feel like it needs some kind of simple goal or win condition, or did I miss smth?

kappaix 2016-12-18 12:33

An interesting game, really good looking - clean and clear graphics and I liked the audio a lot as well.

Think I got the hang of the game eventually, I think the main are for improvement would be the AI of the opponents. They seem a bit stupid and kill themselves constantly, meaning you are playing more against yourself than them.

With a bit of refinement, it could be really good - could particularly see it working as a frantic multiplayer game.

Well done, thanks for sharing!

The art and graphics were really nice, great job :) I figured it out fairly quickly after dying while crossing over my territory: it's a game of snake. I think your explanation for the type of game would make more sense to mention that instead of the idea of capturing territory.

As for the gameplay itself, I didn't really concern myself with the enemies at all because they tended to die right away, and I never used the dash because it was unnecessary.

Great job :)

Solid entry so far. Well polished (nice graphics, nice sounds). But, I think it takes too much time to end a game.

akai_0okami 2016-12-18 18:19

The graphics and audio are awesome! The game itself is kinda confusing though, not clear what the rules are.

I liked the game and the mechanics. However, I did not understand how to finish it. It is completely impossible to fill the bar because enemies keep respawning. You should have a certain score to get instead of everything (or almost, I am not sure). In the menu, it is not possible to click on option. In the pause menu, I found non intuitive the fact that the white text is not the selected one. You could also have put some effort in IA. What bots do now is just stupid :)

atomicripof 2016-12-18 18:34

Good idea, but I feel like this game needs a few little changes to make the failure less frustrating.

mementogames 2016-12-18 18:53

As others said, there isn't a clear objective, despite the filling bar. Is it supposed to end when the bar fills? That would explain the AI seeming to be walking randomly as that objective would be impossible to achieve otherwise in a multiplayer game. The art and sound are really cool, though!

sekaru 2016-12-18 19:17

Looks cool but the gameplay was a bit weird. Missing some sort of lose condition and the controls felt a bit unresponsive.

ekilibr 2016-12-18 22:35

The game is very clean in its execution, and he global idea is really interesting. Your core mechanic could have benefit from a little tutorial to let the player know better what he has to do :)
Anyway, good job!

Great game. Reminds me to tron bu it's too different. Good job!

dynamic-panic-studios 2016-12-22 19:11

Good game. I felt like it was impossible to actually win and the game seemed like it was going to go on forever. Without some sort of win condition I honestly have no real reason to continue playing after I have experienced the mechanics.

I kind of enjoyed playing this game. It did feel kind of impossible to grab the full meter-thingy but quite easy to lead. I think my actions didn't really affect the opponents which was a bit of a pity, because it would have made it more engaging. E.g. if you are not connected to your origin, you die. I also think the want to keep playing would have increased if I had been able to reach the full meter or get really close. What if when you max your meter, the game levels up and enemies move faster? And some rewarding feedback and score. Also something showing if the game actually resets your score each time or if you are progressing and making more and more total. I would opt for the latter.

To sum it up: Cute and fun arcade game.

minato4th 2016-12-22 19:53

Very cool Idea! But how to win?)

turkey2349 2016-12-22 20:08

I'm a fan of strategy games and I really love this one! I wish i knew the objective or how to "win" the game, but overall it was still a fantastic game!

onepixelmonster 2016-12-22 22:19

Nice!
