LD22 — Alone

ALONE with K.I.T.T.I. by pbdiode 2011-12-20T00:04:00

@wbobeirne: The web version is now actually web playable, thanks for pointing that out! I'm currently trying to figure out why chrome isn't working...

@johnl: thank you! I'm thinking about working much more on it after the compo is all over, and putting an absolute ton of content in it!

Faster, Goetterdaemmerung! Zombie! Zombie! by andrebeton 2011-12-22T01:20:00

I didn't get past the mines... but I did enjoy the dialog! And I thought the lead up music was excellent!

LD23 — Tiny World

Tiny Droplet by Digitalduck 2012-04-23T12:43:00

Great job! fun to play, controls a little sensitive, background music would have been nice.

Redbeard the Borrower by jrasmussen24 2012-04-24T03:30:00

Sound effects were awesome! Only thing I had a little bit of problem with was with how the camera changed orientation.

The Tiny World by pbdiode 2012-04-23T12:48:00

@MadGnomeGamer: hmm -- what browser did you use? Can you try typing in just a question mark? how about just 'h' (no quotation marks)?

LD24 — Evolution

Gravallax by Entity2D 2012-08-29T20:44:00

Very difficult, but enjoyable! Good Job.

The Singularity is Here! by josefnpat 2012-08-29T20:57:00

Great Job! Loved the dialog, and great job on the whole menu.

I found that in LOVE 0.8.0 if you explicitly set short sound clips to "static" when creating a new source, you don't get the lag slow down. Or maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed that way on my game...

LimiT by Sakuyan 2012-08-29T21:23:00

Great graphics, wish there was sound!

SURVIVE by Ragzouken 2012-08-29T21:18:00

Using a track pad with this sucks! BUT a fun and interesting game :)

Yellow Dog by Barry Abrams 2012-08-29T21:13:00

Good Job! Great animation for the poop. See my dog do that every day.

Cellvolution by thewiseguy99 2012-08-29T21:29:00

Good concept, wish it would have played a little faster though -- kinda felt slow all the time without the little lighting upgrade.

Overall, great job!

The Sky in the Room by Porpentine 2012-08-29T20:23:00

Just not sure what to make of this. I think I like it, good job!

Augment to advance by littleball 2012-08-28T15:22:00

Overall fun game! I think the player didn't have enough of a curve when jumping, but then I didn't really mind too much. Great job!

Boby by Tim_Wilson 2012-08-29T15:18:00

Didn't really run into any DNA stuff, and wasn't sure what the keys were at first!

Enjoyed the little squeak of a jump sound :)

Devolution by x3zinja12 2012-08-29T15:12:00

Good effort, interesting landscape.

Had some trouble with hitting 'R' -- didn't seem to do anything.

Also had some trouble while moving up (with the 'w' key) -- it seems that it would hit a certain point, then I wouldn't move anymore. Had to press and hold 'a' or 'd' then press 'w' in order to move up on the screen.

And, it seems that all monsters on the screen were getting hit when I pressed the space bar.

B M S by darkstarmatryx 2012-08-29T20:40:00

Good job!

Wasn't able to start the game (webstart was broken as you said) and I got the following error by running "java -jar mutants_run.jar":

I did try installing a virtualenv w/ pyglet, but was getting errors saying I had the wrong architecture.

IO VUOLE ZEN by Capro 2012-08-29T15:58:00

Definitely ragequite. Interesting though.

Bubble Breeders by blay09 2012-08-29T15:48:00

Played a few times, seems like this game has much potential! Good Job!

Unfortunately, I was running into a few things I couldn't figure out:

- After a bit I started getting only 1 worker, another would generate but it always disappeared quick
- I built gold storage, but apparently I couldn't store gold or don't know how to...
- Wish there was a little feedback so I know my guys are doing damage to the other guys!

Evolve and Build to be Able to Code by cardboard 2012-08-28T15:14:00

- Transitions were great
- Music was fun
- I liked the constant presence of the info bar
- Wish there was more action-based sounds -- IE if i hit enter on something that didn't do anything, it would give me a sound to represent that
- I kinda got lost on what I was supposed to do between the 2nd and 3rd levels and ended up just kinda exploring and hitting enter on a bunch of stuff until I found things that gave me stuff.
- Not sure if just getting to the last level was the end or not, couldn't figure it out if it wasn't.

Overall, great effort!

Worm by Imosa 2012-08-29T19:51:00

Interesting concept, but I have to say I was a little lost playing it, even after reading your descriptions.

The Darwin Wars Mud by pbjorklund 2012-08-29T19:46:00

That was fun! Could only play with myself, but I think this would be fun. Advantage definitely would go to users with longer names!

Good job!

The Chamber by yajtheman 2012-08-29T20:04:00

I think with a bit more work this could be a fun premise for a game. I enjoyed the atmosphere you started to create with the dialog, but wished it was pushed a little further.

The movement could have been, maybe, a little faster -- I felt like I was moving for most of the game.

Overall, good job. Nice animation on the particles, and I think the combination of growing/shrinking + buttons/doors could go a long way.

Don't Stop Me (from Evolving), Bro! by SgtBlu3 2012-08-28T15:30:00

Started lagging really bad for me after about 30 seconds. (OS/X Lion, LOVE version 0.8.0).

I had a similar problem in my game -- it had to do with sound. I ended up having to set the sounds to "static" manually and set music to "stream" manually, despite what the defaults are supposed to be.

Otherwise, from what I was able to play of it, I thought it was fun! Perhaps could have used some music or something, but it was smooth and enjoyable. Wish I could have gotten to some later stages.

Barnacles by UltimateWalrus 2012-08-28T15:36:00

It did get slow pretty quick with the flash version, couldn't do much by the 3rd round.

Seemed like the barnacles got to evolve, but I couldn't! no way for me to eat the ones that puffed up.

Overall, great effort for what I was able to play!

2052 by Mach60KAS 2012-08-30T14:36:00

Ran into a couple of 'Undefined' paths, and wished there were some more choices a long the way.

But very pleasant to read, I do enjoy IF. Good Job!

And Thus She Spake by pbdiode 2012-08-29T16:00:00

A hint for those that are having trouble figuring the mechanics out: The intro text (and death text) explains it all!

LD25 — You are the Villain

Evil Engineering by ChronoDK 2012-12-18T04:08:00

I loved the idea, and I thought the art was well executed for the time constraints, but I did miss at least a little audio and some instruction on how to play would be nice! But, not super hard to figure out.

Deenergize by nka 2012-12-20T05:12:00

Little confused about exactly what conditions caused a reset at first, I and I might still be, but it was a fun game, one of the best I've seen thus far, good job!

Ekil-Eguor by Zabot 2012-12-19T05:55:00

This could totally get improved and be absolutely awesome.

I did experience a bug though, one of the blue guys I got in an infinite move loop with the hero character witha wall/door between them

Dastardly Fiend by PixelMonkey 2012-12-18T03:59:00

Very fun game! Good job!

Harold is an Executioner by PaulSB 2012-12-18T04:30:00

Corruption! Get out of my town! by maiev 2012-12-17T17:22:00

Fun idea! It got really hard, really quickly thought.

Tripe Traps by Lyonsbanner 2012-12-18T04:38:00

Great job!

Event Horizon by SelectricSimian 2012-12-17T17:49:00

Are you the villain? by tove 2012-12-18T03:43:00

Would definitely have liked more!

Burglar by Manuel777 2012-12-18T03:56:00

I really liked the art in this: good job! BUT it was a little hard to see -- there could have been a little more contrast between the fore and back grounds.

Evil kitten-kidnapping pirates - from SPACE by Tommislav 2012-12-18T04:13:00

Nice intro screen, and fun premise! I think some audio would have done it a lot of justice, and the controls were a little "squishy" -- I kept on wanting to turn my ship while not accelerating to fire at the opposing ships (similar to a asteroids control scheme).

Evil Goat by amidos2006 2012-12-19T05:49:00

Very polished for 48 hours indeed! Excellent job! Only thing I was missing was, maybe, some toggle-able background music, but only maybe.

Robot Revolution Dance by dwrensha 2012-12-17T17:36:00

Interesting concept, but I kinda felt like I didn't really have any goals (IE, "get a score of 1000" or "maintain a score of between 200 and 300"). Didn't see any bullets (did I have to get a certain score or play for a certain amount of time?), and I tried clicking around on the screen, but didn't get the mouse to do anything.

Good sounds though, and I think there is potential with this concept!

Cata Chulhu by Gornova 2012-12-17T17:28:00

Loved the squishy sound. Really easy to beat since you just re-spawn, but I still found it an enjoyable game!

Bad Business Croc, Nobody Likes You by intmain 2012-12-19T05:40:00

Good job! I feel like there needed to be more variation for the level that I played, but overall, great job, especially on the music and graphics.

Evil Monkey by laaph 2012-12-19T05:44:00

Great start! Interesting to see an osx only app!

Wrong Love by Corné Dorrestijn 2012-12-20T05:03:00

This is a really great concept! It could use more contrast, and the levels seemed a little large, but overall a good experience!

Interns From Mars! by Gjarble 2012-12-18T04:33:00

Nice job!

Bank Robbers by CaptainIcy 2012-12-18T03:47:00

Loved the graphic of the cop car getting destroyed! Whish there would have been more background elements (trees, trash cans, pedestrians, etc), but excellent concept! I could see this being developed out a little.

Evil Lair Construction Kit by sanojian 2012-12-18T04:24:00

Very cool idea, a little slow to start as I wasn't sure exactly what to do. Good idea on the hints though, that helped a lot! Wish I could have multi-selected squares to dig out, or at least dug them out faster. That was perhaps a little slow/unresponsive when I played it.

Troll ball by DomNomNom 2012-12-18T04:40:00

LOL.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

A medieval story... in 10 seconds. by Markavian 2013-08-26T16:12:00

Very interesting concept!

It was very hard for me to parse the action I wanted to take quickly, though.

Great graphics! Only wish there was a little audio to go with it, even if it were just sounds on button clicks and the timer ending!

Overall, really good job!

T-X by MarekkPie 2013-08-27T16:20:00

Awesome start! I really think you could flesh out this game more and have something pretty cool.

Audio and some sort of score board would have added a lot I think.

1.863 million miles by netmute 2013-08-27T15:17:00

This is the start of something that could be really fun! Great job on the graphics!

Was a Rougelike by Galan 2013-08-27T16:10:00

The OS/X version did not seem to start up at all.

Convey by Zanzlanz 2013-08-27T15:34:00

Great job!

diGuide by Mysterarts 2013-08-26T17:02:00

Great concept, great looking game!

I'd have liked to hear more sfx, but the music was really soothing, good job on that!

I'd love to see this game polished up even more!

10 Second Run by MattySVN 2013-08-27T15:11:00

All of the links seem to point to the same zip file, which just seems to contain the source and a windows executable... are there actual builds for OS/X or Linux?

Hijack by KEFIR 2013-08-27T15:38:00

Really enjoyable game -- a little short, but high on the fun!

10 seconds by Mathias Olsson 2013-08-26T16:38:00

Good idea, and nice to see a language like clojurescript being use!

10SecTD by joekinglake 2013-08-26T16:53:00

Awesome -- had a little issue with some of the towers not aiming at some of the enemies I thought they should be, but otherwise it was a pretty slick game!

I really liked that the enemies basically regenerated, and that their health was indicated by their relative size.

Great job! I'd love to see this game fleshed out!

10s drawing by Webravenz 2013-08-26T16:41:00

Good idea, and well executed. Great job!

Con 10 Sedi by Capro 2013-08-27T15:27:00

Nice! good mechanic!

I think some animation or some thing on the menu screens to make them a little less static looking would have been great, but that's just a minor thing, especially for this competition, and they certainly served the purpose!

Barrage Trigger by PaulSB 2013-08-26T16:18:00

I liked using the obstacles as a cover system, and I liked the timed aspect of more obstacles.

Good job overall!

Tsuri by jcvsmc 2013-08-26T17:33:00

Great job!

The only think I was a little confused on was what the different colored characters actually did.

But over all, very enjoyable to see the tree grow in the end!

10s Castaway by meszka 2013-08-27T15:22:00

That was REALLY hard for me. Maybe I didn't figure something out to make it easier, but dang, that could be really fun! You should definitely keep at this game, it has potential!

Some background music (even just a small looping audio bit) I think might have added a little bit, but overall, excellent entry!

Under Water by Orava 2013-08-27T16:16:00

Very good looking! Some sort of goal stated up front, and some audio would have made this spectacular! As it stands, it is quite the pleasant experience though, very good job on the visuals.

Fight The Urge by Keith Evans 2013-08-26T16:04:00

404ing on the link to the game

The Lost Fleet (Every Second Counts) by alangamebot 2013-08-26T16:34:00

Dropbox link to web version didn't like to the html file, it just linked to the folder .

Frictionless Fury by elementz123 2013-08-27T15:47:00

Good idea, and fairly smooth ball control -- but a couple of suggestions, which are pretty much the same as other people have said: keyboard shortcuts for playing and restarting, and restart to the level you died at, not to the beginning of the game!

Mr Box Project by yosualb 2013-08-26T17:15:00

Good job on setting up the scenes! Simple graphic elements were used to great effect to make the levels not very visually dry.

It was a tough game, and I had some issues with jumping on to platforms (I would clip through them sometimes, and sometimes the timing of my jumps seemed like it should be okay, but it failed to jump).

Overall, good effort!

YorkTime by Steve | tacospice 2013-08-27T16:07:00

Overall, great game! Not sure how much I really like the time limit though... but, doesn't really get in the way!

Good job!

The 10 (other) Seconds Journey by PaperBlurt 2013-08-26T17:27:00

Interesting! Great use of twine!

Drone Ring by mychairhasalooin 2013-08-26T16:27:00

Awesome song.

Somewhat difficult (at first, anyhow), but over all very enjoyable.

I would love to see how this game would play with more involvement with the map -- IE the map changes, and has features that affect incoming enemies or your defense.

Guild of Brothers by kantieno 2013-08-26T17:06:00

The biggest thing lacking in this entry is audio -- otherwise, very interesting concept, I'd love to see it fleshed out and polished up!

Popping Bubbles by Fififox 2013-08-27T15:57:00

Good concept -- would have been nice to have a big visible count-down timer maybe. It might also be good to explain the mechanic a little clearer, with some experimentation, I think I figured it out pretty good, but it would be nice to have a confirmation!

Fun game play though, definitely some potential there!

Noumenon by 23 2013-08-26T17:19:00

The two criticisms I have (hopefully they're constructive): even a little bit of audio would be awesome, and the ship was flying really really fast -- I kept adjusting the direction to get off an obstacle, but then would get stuck on another because I couldn't change direction fast enough.

Otherwise, really good promise in this game -- I'd love to see it fleshed out!

10 Second Battle by adventureloop 2013-08-27T15:04:00

I really like the idea of a hunter battling it out w/ deer and bears -- I think there's some fun (and funny) stuff that could come from that!

Just a few thoughts:
- it would be nice to have the love file as a separate link in your submission, it would let people play your game just a smidge faster, and be more immediately identifiable as a LOVE game
- took me a moment to figure out what I should do to get past the first screen -- and by that I mean that, unless I missed it, there didn't seem to be any indication on what I should do next (hitting space bar seemed to work)
- some sounds would have been awesome!
- I hit the 'r' key during a game and it threw up an error -- had to restart the game

Reassessment by tacograveyard 2013-08-26T16:01:00

Perhaps a bit difficult -- it was hard to understand how I should be using the door blocks and director blocks effectively.

But, for a 48-hour competition, I thought the audio and graphics were top notch.

Overall, great job!

No Time: 10 Lost Seconds by JAH2488 2013-08-27T15:54:00

Nice job of thinking about what '10 seconds' could be! The ... entities ... in the world were certainly creepy.

Contaminated by uwap 2013-08-27T15:31:00

Well, the character seemed to be stuck behind the wall to the left of the screen, and no amount of using WSAD keys seemed to un-stick it from that position. Also, when the timer ran out, nothing really seemed to happen.

Hopefully these things are just bugs and can be fixed! It'd be great to give your game a real go!
