LD20 — It's Dangerous to Go Alone! Take This!

Breathing Room by Shaun Inman 2011-05-04T18:12:00

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm really glad the music has been received so well.

I've already started building out more levels that better introduce and gradually increase the challenge; the "game" I "finished" in 48 hours was basically whatever state the debug room was in when I was finished building out the last "threat."

Hamumu, Winterblood, without the slowmo inhaler Breathing Room would be just another poorly designed, floaty indie game instead of a poorly designed floaty indie game with an interesting if underdeveloped core mechanic :) The actual level designs I'm working on make use of slowmo to better effect.

crackerblock, you can download the sound track here http://shauninman.com/breathingroom/Breathing%20Room.zip (also linked from the footer of the Web link above)

LD21 — Escape

Escape! Data Entry Sentry by Shaun Inman 2011-08-22T21:24:00

Only loosely related? The theme wasn't "run away from something!" or "get out of that place!" it was "escape!" :)

Escape! Data Entry Sentry by Shaun Inman 2011-08-23T10:35:00

Thinking about adding one more, very rare block type: Phillup, a fluffy white cloud Chunk that if left unescaped fills each buffer column to the height of the current tallest one. Could be dangerous if you're close to a buffer overflow but helpful if an unescaped Chomply has prevented a single column from progressing with the rest.

That's a drag. Which browser? I was pretty lax with browser testing (developed in Safari on an iPad). Last Dare I used Flixel and didn't have to worry about it. We can still make bug fix changes to our code right?

Escape! Data Entry Sentry by Shaun Inman 2011-08-24T20:32:00

Ah, didn't realize Firefox didn't support the CSS `zoom` property. I've patched it to use `-moz-transform: scale() translate();` too. Works now in FF6 Mac. Still, good luck keeping up without a touch screen :)

LD22 — Alone

An Empty Room by Cosr 2012-01-04T21:44:00

Couldn't play because even when screaming with input volume all the way up my volume never went above 12%. Maybe you could use the test scream as the target (or some percentage of).

Sinkhole by Shaun Inman 2011-12-21T22:24:00

Thanks guys!

@cakemonitor I've been updating the game the past couple days (add "sinkhole" to the url to see the current version, just don't judge based on that version). Collision and cornering are much better and more forgiving.

@Tristan, JavaScript and ActionScript aren't all that different, just view source on the web page, you can probably figure out the relevant bits.

@Goldendice If you ever get stuck just try pressing in an adjacent direction. There's definitely egregious sub pixel collision problems in the version I submitted.

A Blind Man in the Darkness by Thomas Pritchard 2012-01-04T14:43:00

The presentation was great but being forced to reread the beginning of the poem when you die (too many floaty, blind jumps) reduced the impact of its message.

Friendless by Homletmoo 2012-01-04T19:03:00

Made it to the end but clicked an arrow key to claim my prize and it restarted the game. Other than that final disappointment, great job!
