AWESOME!!!!

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

I would have tried it if it had a web or osx version.

whitetigle 2012-04-25 09:01

nice game however IMHO the controls made it a little bit difficult to play

xeeko 2012-04-25 20:39

To bad with the lack of proper sound, since the graphics are really good, classic minimalism.

7hesama 2012-04-26 02:41

Controls are pretty bad, honestly. No real reason to switch from what most people know (for instance W/S = jump). Still good bit of platforming for 48hr. Please turn the sound down next time :P.

demonpants 2012-04-27 21:52

Any chance of a Mac version?

schizofunky 2012-04-27 21:59

Very nice game! the graphics are cool, i like the disco pixels on the enemies! And i thought thye control system altho different was quite nice to have all the keys next to each other!

milo 2012-04-27 22:08

The level is designed pretty well - I do have to use most the controls. It'd be nice to see some elements that require more precise and difficult moves though (although I'm not sure the control scheme is good enough for that). Being sent to the start every time was a little annoying.

tlaine 2012-04-27 22:29

No problem with controls here. That audio though, hrr. Otherwise, nice game, nice ending!

yselftool 2012-04-29 21:35

Awesome! and hard...

jiddo 2012-05-05 10:34

The game looks exceptionally polished for a 48h game. I really like the graphics/art style. The controls are a bit awkward tho. The game also runs just fine on Linux using Wine. Great work!

tehwut 2012-05-07 22:11

funny little game, had a nice clean artistic style with smooth gameplay, good work!

cherrynukacola 2012-05-09 11:45

Good job! If you don't mind transferring your java learning to javascript, you should check out Unity for the next jam: it's free and can export to the web.

Nicely done, love the refilling energy bar (But I'm just too impatient to wait till it's full)

maxman43 2012-05-13 05:24

I would play this if there were a web version. You should consider doing a web version for future games.

jedi 2012-05-13 15:04

This entry seems very complete (although the sounds don't work on my system). It is a nice, short game but most of my time was spent waiting for my energy to refill. Having shots and shield drain your health is innovative but IMHO it is not fun.

As has been said, the controls were weird. Why not one button to shoot and one button for shield? Also, you wait until the player is in harm's way to instruct them on the shield.

The graphics are at that perfect level of Ludum-Dare-minimalism.

It's much better and more complete than anything I made at 13 - good job!

Alright, i'm super proud of my place in the standings!

Thanks everyone, this has been a kick-ass learning experience!
