LD23 — Tiny World

Greed Wars by IgnatusZuk 2012-04-24T05:04:00

Oh man, this game is brilliant! Had to play through all 4 factions.
Just love the simple mechanics. I found building lots of Mine's early, and then just holding out for factories was a good strategy.

This game is *begging* for multiplayer!

Michael is Myopic by Several 2012-04-27T02:22:00

Very cool game - it was a little frustrating at first, but I couldn't help but try and get past that 2nd stage. Quit after making it to stage 3 and then failing again.

Suggestions:
* checkpoints at each stage - why make player go back to the very beginning?
* Maybe ditch the time limit - give people time to strategize!
* The style of the blocks is kinda cool, but the character is pretty arbitrary. would be cool if he made some kinda sense.

Would love to play this on an iPad and slide the little guy around the screen, perhaps with smooth movement/transitions between the stages.

Millinaut by Throbbery 2012-04-24T04:01:00

This is really cool! Took me a few minutes to get the mechanic but it was worth it.

Ant Command by Aaron San Filippo 2012-04-24T01:10:00

Thanks for playing! Yes we agree. The plan was to have the ants drag the food back, and to have multiple sizes of food with varying rewards, for a bit of strategy/interesting choice.

Tiny Worlds by Lidfrid 2012-04-24T04:41:00

I like the style! Was a little disappointed to get all the way to the end and then find out I needed more of the little ball things.
Overall, neat little game!

Cracked by TimBeaudet 2012-04-24T03:23:00

Fun! Seems I couldn't walk on the grass at all.

The Elves end the Shoemaker by Nora Shishi 2012-04-24T03:55:00

Cute!

Biodome by 7Soul 2012-04-24T03:33:00

Pretty cool! Good job with the artwork and the gameplay.
Moving the blocks back and forth get a little tedious, but it's steal a neat experience.

My Little Planetoid by matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-24T04:24:00

Nice work! Agree with most of the comments - but I'd love to see this game developed more!

Faelanx by arkeus 2012-04-25T03:38:00

Excellent work! Has that compulsive addicting quality to it ;)

Pale Blue Dot by KevinWorkman 2012-05-03T04:49:00

Kinda like Osmos, but with cheesy graphics and a cool soundtrack.
Good job, I had fun!

Little Locations by Nolan C 2012-04-25T03:43:00

I like the cyclical nature of it, and the genuinely tiny world!

caveman defending his cave from aliens while monoliths drop down from the sky by bms 2012-04-24T03:51:00

Cute! I like the variety of weapons.

Planet 161 by saint11 2012-04-25T03:31:00

Nice work!

LD24 — Evolution

Papillon by ChevyRay 2012-08-29T18:57:00

Wow, this is an incredible game for such a short time. Love the bosses!

Adapt or Die! by Datw 2012-08-27T17:06:00

Couldn't get it to work in Chrome on macOS. Downloaded some Java library then just froze on a white screen.

Evolution Defense by franklyn 2012-08-28T01:48:00

Made it to wave 9. Nice combination of action and tower defense.
The upgrade ui was a bit odd - I kept finding things "maxed" when I hadn't actually bought an upgrade (maybe it's queuing up my upgrade request until I have enough money?)

Like the headshot idea, although it does make the aiming a bit tedious..

Hexarden by Aaron San Filippo 2012-08-28T13:45:00

I knew I should've made more levels, darnit!

Hexarden by Aaron San Filippo 2012-08-29T15:16:00

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I realized after the fact (and a couple people saying it) that the tutorial didn't cover moving the water.

I'm totally going to write a search algorithm to find the best solution for each puzzle - I'm trying to resist putting more time into instead of finishing other projects :)

Super Robocade by VoEC 2012-08-28T01:52:00

It's like Mario Bros, but with monocrome graphics and clunky controls :)

Seriously though - nice job! I like the enemy upgrades.

Cubevo by NostraDamon 2012-08-27T20:56:00

Interesting concept. The collection aspect is kind of addictive in that compulsive sort of way :)

Running out of gems and having to restart was a little too frustrating for me. Saved up for the 10-point cube expecting something rewarding inside, then ran out of gems :)

LimiT by Sakuyan 2012-08-27T21:03:00

Pretty interesting game! Nice art. Got a little repetetive in the beginning. End game is pretty weird ;)

Cellception by DiG 2012-08-28T01:40:00

Tip: change the unity link to http:// instead of https:// (otherwise it continually asks to install the web player)

Tried the unity link and the Kongregate unity link. Seems like an interesting concept, however the framerate makes it pretty rough to play.

Badass by Sos 2012-08-27T16:56:00

Nicely done! Love the humor and the theme.

Dusty Balls by ThatSamu 2012-08-28T02:06:00

Very interesting!

The life of Cat by Amoaeba Junior 2012-08-28T02:12:00

Cute :) I like the past-tense nature of the tutorial. The level design is a little tedious, but overall it's a pretty neat little game.

On the Origin of Block by savethejets1 2012-08-28T02:01:00

Interesting concept. Controls/mechanics seem a bit overwhelming at first.

Would be interesting to see where this goes!

Kitty Breeder 2012 by turnip 2012-08-27T16:15:00

Brilliant! Wasn't sure if there was an endgame, worked my way up to the pink, then through another 4 rounds or so. Very cool mechanics!

Stellar Nursery by seemo 2012-08-28T02:46:00

Very cool mood, love the visuals and the music is perfect.

Have to admit, I didn't really get the core mechanic or what the goals were, if there were any ;)

The World of What? by Kaytus 2012-08-28T02:50:00

Tip: Remove the https:// from your url, and replace it with http://. That should make the "you need to upgrade unity player" message go away.

Seems like a very cool, deep game. Love the visuals!
Suggestion: walk the player through some actions at the beginning, rather than presenting them with a wall of text. It's a bit overwhelming, not sure what I'm supposed to do first!

Red Ball: The Game by lectvs 2012-08-27T02:34:00

Pretty cool concept. Got to the stage with legs on the third try - love the animation!

The control scheme is pretty cool once you get used to it, a little cumbersome at first.

Wasn't sure how to use the spiky ball.

Go Darwin by StabAlarash 2012-08-28T01:56:00

MegaDodo!
This game is awesome. I like how even after they evolve, the previous species is still mixed in.

Microbe Madness! by Matt Rix 2012-08-27T02:44:00

This game shows a lot of promise! I love that you can only control all of your guys at once, and that it's symmetrical 3-team as a rule. The animation and overall look is pretty charming too.

It took me a round to figure out the upgrade mechanic - there's no "hover" state on the upgrade buttons so I missed it at first. I beat it on the second round.

My strategy was to spam attack upgrades up to around level 5, then health. No need for speed or defense if you can obliterate everything in your path!

I think it'll be very interesting as a multiplayer game, especially if you can see some kind of visual representation of the enemy's upgrades.

Only other minor critique is that your guys get stuck on their home base sometimes. Or maybe this is part of the design?

Evolve Larry by gregdevice 2012-08-27T21:08:00

Seems pretty cool, but gets pretty dull with how slowly the slider moves along. Frustrating to see your needed item fall into the screen and then just kinda tumble away.

LD26 — Minimalism

No Color Allowed by Aaron San Filippo 2013-05-04T02:01:00

Thanks guys :)

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Arrow Rain by Maxium 2014-08-30T18:44:00

Very ambitious :)
I like that you can shoot the birds and they react, and the general physics of shooting. The actual hit feedback is a little weak - would be cool if there were a hit effect, and maybe a slight flash or something on contact with an enemy. I was disappointed that I couldn't really see arrows sticking out of the targets!

Altrein's Portal by MacronCPP 2014-08-28T19:25:00

Interesting UI for the trap selection. The controls and purchase mechanics took me awhile to figure out.

Connector World by Tom 7 2014-08-30T17:58:00

Nice little puzzle game! Surprisingly well put together and addictive. The rules for success were a little confusing; it wasn't clear why it worked in some cases but not in others.

Would be great to have a "reset" option, and the option to put cables back in the box.

Colorshift by Andrew Adams 2014-08-30T18:18:00

One of my favorites so far. Pure simple mechanics, but very mind-bending and nerve-wracking.

Connected Caves by Birke 2014-08-30T18:07:00

Cool visual, I like the feel of being lost! I've got a terrible sense of direction, so some landmarks beyond the spikes on the walls would've been cool.

The Great Space Ambassador by Beardo Games 2014-08-28T19:30:00

Love it :)

The choices felt a little arbitrary, but it was good silly fun.

Matters of Perspective by nesis 2014-08-30T17:35:00

A bit rough around the edges, but I love the concept! The lava pit felt a bit arbitrary when I died in 2D as I couldn't see it (it kind of felt like it shouldn't apply in the same way or something - or maybe it should be visible in 2D as well.) But I think it's a great idea that's worth exploring further!

Life (and your choices) by anserran 2014-08-28T19:02:00

Very interesting take on the theme. I couldn't quite make out how the demon mechanic worked; after I used it once it seems like I couldn't use it again..

Connected Words by Sophie Houlden 2014-08-30T17:39:00

A neat little toy. I like the "explore what you can spell" nature of it with the nebulous letter-bubbles floating around. It'd be cool to see some game mechanics explored with this type of input.

A Hat's Trick by Soup With Bits 2014-08-30T18:34:00

Excellent! It took me a bit to figure out the core mechanic. Maybe some slight effects/camera shake might help? Very cool visual and mood too.

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-08-28T19:49:00

Love the ship design with the twisting and lurching! Gameplay got old pretty fast, but the presentation is really fantastic overall.

Coexisting Worlds by PurpleApes 2014-08-28T19:05:00

It sounded interesting; but I had a really hard time understanding how the game worked with the confusing UI and directions :(

Super Alien Bro by nerd burglars 2014-08-28T19:40:00

The powerups add a great twist. Very impressive level design and presentation!

Alice Anxiety by jukimv1986 2014-08-28T19:17:00

Wow, really nicely done. Some of the transitions were a little abrupt (When I clicked 'I don't know' to the abomination and it took me back to my bedroom instantly, etc.) But I like the direction you're going with this.

DINO BOLT by GeorgeBroussard 2014-08-28T19:51:00

Very nicely done. I like how the dinos return to center. The connection to the theme is clever :)

Really great presentation overall.

Having trouble getting past the main menu. Mouse is hidden, keyboard doesn't seem to work...
