Wow, it's really hard to survive once you've upgraded everything since the enemies also get tougher.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD21 → Coin Runner

Wow, it's really hard to survive once you've upgraded everything since the enemies also get tougher.
Good! I made it a lot harder right before the deadline since I was afraid it was too easy.
Danik, you did a great job! I think it would be even better with some other audio and other graphics!
After playing it more, maybe they get a little too tough. :3
I like the upgrading mechanism, it was fun to replay the same levels when feeling more powerful. I don't think it's too tough - although it seems a little random whether jumping on an enemy will kill you or them. I got a high score of 702! Pity the leaderboards aren't working.
Upgrade mechanic = genius. So much fun getting more and more powerful, even if you're just a pink square. xD Great job.
This is my favorite game on LD21 so far. The upgrade thing makes this really addicting!
They come from behind in front and above, you really feel like it's personal sometimes
Thanks for the comments guys! I'm continuing to work on the game, if you have any criticism it's appreciated!
Pekuja: I see what you meant now, that is a bug! The enemies difficulty is not reset when you die.
This was a lot of fun, very Diamond Hollow-esque. I'm always impressed by how well the die-then-level-up mechanics works in games like this. Overall great job!
That would make a very good postcompo game. Add some nice sprites and check the jump controls. They somehow seemed quite unprecise. But the basic idea is fun even now.
Just great. I actually played this for long enough that everything I look at is now moving sideways.
At first I found it a little odd that the only way to access the upgrade shop was by dying, but it grew on me.
The enemies became a lot tougher to avoid the more I played (often, enemies would spawn on the right hand side of the screen whilst I was trapped in a sort of tunnel) -- some way to avoid these, or to replenish lost health would have kept me playing this for much much longer.
Fun game, I didn't realize why the game got so hard after I died over and over again. There seemed to be some glitches/inconsistencies with how fast the screen moved. That said, collecting the coins and killing the enemy squares was definitely fun, and the controls were pretty smooth.
Wow... At first I was like... WTF ANOTHER STUPID PLATFORMER...
Then I died...
Then I played and played and played :)
Congratulation, excellent idea, excellent work. I'm starting to hate platformers, but I really loved yours.
Now for some criticism: edge climbing is more trouble then it's worth (but maybe I just need to play with it more).
I'm pretty sure that more then once I've run into a fully vertical wall and there was (seemingly) no way through it.
And it could really use some art for the blocks (but this is mostly nitpicking, you've concentrated on the game, even added quite good audio).
I wish I could get to the fun that everyone else seems to be having :(
I didn't understand why sometimes the pursuers stopped after beating me, and sometimes (like, 5 games in a row) a single dude just kept bum-rushing me to the point where I wouldn't even have enough coins for the first upgrade.
I can see the concept here, though, just punished me way too much.
Dark Acre Jack: Yea, it's a bug... the difficulty is not reset properly when you die. Just refresh the page to reset it. (I should have learned to be careful with static variables by now :P) I should add a note about that.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I was sitting here thinking that this would make a really great game with some more graphics. But you know what? It's already awesome...
Nice work. Music is quite fitting.
I was playing this for quite awhile... ;]
