Dark Acre Jack's "Escapology" by Dark Acre Jack 2011-08-29T00:14:00
I really liked how balanced the game was. For both illusions, I felt the pressure as the clock ticked and I tried to escape, but neither were too easy nor too difficult. Great work!

A fun little game and an excellent interpretation of the theme! Not a fan of the "low framerate" effect - it was hard to find the character after getting hit by a car.
Looks really nice and the dialogue trees were interesting. :) Guiding the player a bit more may help.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. You managed to do something with your level design that is rare and awesome: you made me feel like I was just wandering around/exploring, yet I end up finding the goal without backtracking. Great work.
Couldn't tell if I was captured due to time running out, or if it was a certain room. One thing I really liked was that the circular viewport combined with the music did create a nice suspenseful atmosphere!
One of the best 3D games I've seen. And the story was truly heart-wrenching! :p
I actually got sent back to the flower field at the end, and didn't mind playing through again because I noticed the "alternate path" and wanted to check it out. Glad I did. Very enjoyable!
Felt more like an interactive movie than a game, but the killer soundtrack, stunning graphics/animation, and tongue-in-cheek humor made up for that. I enjoyed your timelapses as well, especially the "mom made pancakes" comment. :D
I really liked the concept! Simple and well-executed. Seems to get easier as you progress, though.
Loved the Oregon Trail style text that came up when you got hit. Especially, "Your grandma fell off" and "You are about to die from corrugated ankles." LOL!
Upset that it was spoiled for me. :( I was really giving it my all, though... even had the keys that looked like 'E', 'S', and 'C' separated from the rest, trying to somehow merge them into some super-key by shoving all three into the door. Yeah, I probably wouldn't have ever figured it out . :)
I thought the difficulty was just right. I loved the look and feel of the game - just wish there was more to it. (PS: Thanks for including the light version link!)
Very nice looking levels for being procedurally generated. Sorry but I could not get a hang of the controls. :( I'd also suggest making the collision on the ESCAPE a bit more generous - I would get really close then roll right through, and reversing is near impossible.
Excellent! Difficulty was just right - I liked the parts where you had to backtrack a bit to progress. I also actually kind of liked the slow-down upon landing a jump - it made quickly jumping over multiple pits more manageable and "realistic".
It was challenging, but the 10-15 mins I spent on it flew by! Great job!
A cool concept and a nice polished game. I didn't see any bugs here. :) I would suggest that as you introduce new instructions, that you immediately follow up with a level that requires the player to use that new feature. It's also possible to beat the game without using the laser command and the step forward command, though I'd love to see puzzles that require this!
Had to upgrade my display driver to play, so I'm glad it was worth it! This is a really cool idea - turning a 3d action game into more of a strategy game. Yet, I still jumped a few times when I turned and there was a guard right there! Also, way to go using WebGL - I've worked with it a bit and it's not the easiest. (And since it's relatively new, there's not as much of a community to help you out.)
Cool idea - more levels would have been nice. :)
This game is epic! I was hooked from the very beginning, so didn't give up when it ended up being rather challenging. Play through to the end, everyone - it's worth it!
Really nice concept and execution, though I wish it was a bit longer and had some more obstacles other than just mousetraps.
So fun (and cute)! It's clear you put a lot of thought into level design - the challenge level was perfect, as well as the length of the game. Reminded me of old Windows puzzle games, Chip's Challenge, Kye, etc. :) Very nice. (Coincidentally, I was playing this at work. :P)
Upgrade mechanic = genius. So much fun getting more and more powerful, even if you're just a pink square. xD Great job.
Excellent! Difficulty was just right - died my first time, then beat it on my second run. Reminded me of Time Crisis. :) I love that you can shoot down the knives! Great job.
Nice! I also found it a bit too challenging - I would suggest keeping the spider toward the bottom of the camera, so you're not flying blind. Nice job with web physics - it had a good intuitive feel to it.
I love the art style. It looks great! I got stuck on the bushes as well, and it's possible to jump up the cliffs on the edges of the level. xD
I'm having trouble launching the game. I click the exe and nothing happens.

I'm stuck in the room right after the lava maze. Looks like there should be a button? Please help, I must finish and find out where I really am! I did find a kitty though, so all is not lost.

Beautiful, and extremely impressive for 48 hours! I really liked how you designed each level, so that you had to take a different path when you went through it backwards.

I love this concept! If I were you, I'd keep working on this after the competition to make more levels and such. There's so much potential here. :) Also, I saw on your journal that you were having trouble finding a good camera angle. My suggestion, keep it how it is, and add a simple layered mini-map in the corner.
