I'm just gonna kill myself now.
Couldn't play due to massive lag. Unfortunate. :(
My review of hollow.
In hollow, you play Gary Oak in what appears to be a 2-D mixture of Mr. Resetti and Minecraft. Like in Half-life, your goal is to get to the surface. Also like in Half-life, every other turn you take is a DEAD END. The randomly generated level is out to get you and your children every second of the entire time you're playing this game. And oh no, this game isn't one that you play and are done with, no sir-ee. This is a game that you play for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. This game is a masterfully designed and created game. When you consider the 72 hour limitations, this game used every single minute of it for the creation of epicness.
All in all, this game gets an 8.5/10
You can only hope that he goes further with this game past the jam.
9/10. Excellent game. Can't believe you made this in 48 hours.
It would get a higher score, but a couple of minor things detracted.
1. Gun doesn't always shoot where you put mouse.
2. Levels get repetitive.
3. Double arrow key for dash is almost unusable. If you need to dash, you're usually better off not. (Implimenting another hotkey would solve this issue)
4. Music gets a little repetitive as well.
5. Enemy shots are often hard to distinguish from jewels once things start moving faster.
6. Mouse going outside of screen and pausing drives me insane. (I believe that's a flash limitation though)
Holy lag and broken physics Batman! Haha. Good idea, but the implimentation is quite buggy/broken.
The puzzles were a little tedious, but ingeniously designed. Gameplay was pretty good as well. The only problem is that the game's resolution may be too large for some people's monitors. That can be fixed by changing SCREEN_ZOOM in settings.conf
It works in multiples of 200x150
Just for anyone that has this issue.
Pretty awesome game. 658
The graphics and gameplay are simple, yet addictive. More games need to be like this. Building solid core gameplay, instead of frivolous things that get in the way.
I get a crash on startup. Looks like a segfault of some sort. Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.
Definitely one of the best games this LD. I'm going to disagree with Andrew, as the forced use of horizontal fire is what made this game challenging. The upgrade system was a nice addition.
Amazing entry. The only problem is the resolution. On monitors with smaller screens, you can only view a portion of the game.
Ah, actually, the songs were made outside those 2 hours. It took about an hour to make them. Yes. FL Studio. :)
Good concept, pretty fun, but frustrating due to the controls. It's very hard to move around and place blocks like I want to.
The game was neat, but the control scheme could've definitely used some more thought.
Good game, but as seems to be a recurring theme this LudumDare, controls were frustrating.
Pretty hilarious. Was it inspired by this? -> http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/495903
