LD24 — Evolution

Dawn of Dimension by jplur 2012-08-31T09:58:00

Nice pixel sized penis you got there!

Ikaruga Devolved by ChronoDK 2012-08-28T09:14:00

Oh, I liked how you used the theme! There's so much potential in the mechanics...

Curse of Hardai by Incredible Ape 2012-08-28T07:15:00

Oh man, those controls... I can't reach the smoothness of controls in this game in months for my own platformers. :)
Well done!

UN-Natural Selection by Haddy22 2012-08-28T07:03:00

Cool graphics! Reminded me Binding of Isaac somehow. Game itself seems to have promising puzzle mechanics. Good job.

Bit-Craft Evolution by eyehawk 2012-08-28T10:05:00

Hah, not played so many games yet but my first 5 stars for fun goes to you :)

Didn't like the alpha-noise on the front of everything, would be nice to find a better solution for post-compo version if you plan to do.

RE-evolution: The Legend of Hopper by andreyin 2012-08-28T15:42:00

I really, really liked the fast paced combat mechanics in this game, well done! Art style spoke perfect with me as well.

42 Stories by Priapus 2012-08-28T07:06:00

I wanted to write a comment, then saw @omaha wrote exactly what I thought.

"Seriously though, this was cool." Good job!

What's All The Rush For by batiali 2012-08-29T11:38:00

Thanks for all the great comments! Button stuck issue was actually a design decision (it gets faster for it to register) The idea was to give a feeling of rhythm to the players but I think it was a bad idea :)

Removed it for the post-compo version, we also made a performance deal sponsorship with kongregate, so... Yay!

Place of Origin by evilseanbot 2012-08-28T07:20:00

First 5 stars on mood!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Fun with magnets! by Ithildin 2015-12-15T08:36:00

very nice implementation of the theme. I liked figuring out how the controls work. it was fun.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Sunk Cost by bradur 2021-04-30T15:51:04Z

wow, couldn't stop until i got all the upgrades, it definitely has its charm. I love meaningful upgrades and not just 0.2% damage on sth I don't care. you nailed it in that aspect. kudos

The Deepest Threat by Goutye 2021-04-27T07:47:58Z

really fun, got the sense of loop hero a lot, which is not a bad thing at all. kinda similar to what I tried to achieve in this jam (design wise). given the time constraint, the balance is not that off imo. gg wp

SPACE WARS: EPISODE 1 - BREAKING THE STICK by xk_the_name 2021-04-27T21:31:16Z

good job, one of the best entries. /comfort

Downward Frog by GogglesKitty 2021-04-30T21:22:52Z

really well made, it shows how much soul went into this. congrats. loved the fish designs, especially the weird ones u see when u get deeper.

self reflection by torcado 2021-04-28T21:23:52Z

oh, I'm in love with this one. really clever use of the theme. smart puzzles. difficulty was great for my taste. I struggled in the last one for a few minutes but felt really nice after solving it. great work mate!

Deep Sleep by Jakegames2 2021-04-28T20:55:53Z

Screenshot 2021-04-28 225239.png

hey, I'm glad I found this game. it was a short nice experience. fully complete. I feel good now, and kinda peaceful after getting a quite good score. cheers. gonna go sleep now. <3

Werm - an existential adventure by m11 2021-04-28T20:49:04Z

I didn't get the point. still liked the silent scream. <3

Don't Drown by eusekerci 2021-04-30T15:39:03Z

even though I always make really complicated games with lots of rules and mechanics, I really enjoy games made of simple rules and elegant designs. having to turn back is such a brilliant idea that makes the game so much more than what it is and links it to theme perfectly in my opinion. for me, it's significantly harder to make simple games really fun, and it turns out you achieved it, in just 3 days. so, big kudos to you.

Dome Romantik by Rongo Matane 2021-04-28T21:53:44Z

just started my fourth run and before I continue playing, gotta say. wow... this is so elegant in design. so many little pieces that are executed really well. kudos

Tripus's Very Deep Adventure by Kornel 2021-04-27T07:39:06Z

I really enjoy the games that focus on the fun aspect, and this one nailed it for me. a great effort, team. feels really polished and kept me playing for the last half hour.

Yerlik by gord10ahmet 2021-04-27T08:06:47Z

love how consistent the game is with its art and music. I like the different mechanics in each level. def. one of the best I played in this jam so far.

This Goes Deeper... by The Enigma 2021-04-27T21:20:38Z

to be honest, couldn't manage to use some of the interactions in the game (like taking a file, the button didn't work) and there wasn't any message why I couldn't as well. so I played around, tried interacting with the env. and couldn't figure out what to do in the end. that's a bummer because I really enjoyed the atmosphere and general feeling of the game. congrats! great vo :P

dark mind by batiali 2021-04-30T15:33:01Z

thanks a lot everyone, we're thrilled you enjoyed the game!

@goutye that's not a bad score at all, my personal high score is 32!

@a333 I totally get that it's not everyone's cup of tea. I feel like if the shooting itself is not very interesting, it gets old after a while. I feel that this game requires more player agency even if it's not shooting though.

@grimsbaldruk totally agree that the game needs an onboarding before it becomes automatic. thanks for the feedback!

@landosystems this is great feedback since all I wanted with this design was to make players do that cost-benefit analysis several times during a session. it's good to know I failed on that, but I have some ideas how to improve it both by changing some mechanics and adding more visual feedback about what's going on. thanks!

dark mind by batiali 2021-05-06T17:05:31Z

Hey everyone, thanks a ton for the encouraging comments!

@virimine sadly there are some completely hidden mechanics in the game right now that could be much better presented. one of them is that every time you dive, enemies yield 5÷ more xp towards leveling up. so for a high score, it makes sense to dive as much as possible instead of farming xp in the beginning levels. (but also being careful not to overdive)

the numbers represent how much damage those skills did (in total) and percentage-wise (dividen by total damage u dealt) it was a last hour feature we added in the game so ui really doesnt explain itself.

very glad u enjoyed the game, thanks once again.

Agent In Depth by Yigit Doruk 2021-04-27T07:52:05Z

I'm always surprised to see so polished games in such a short amount of time. kudos! hope to see this game evolve after the jam. it can totally be a short little steam game.

Deep In the Dark by Julian Aguirre 2021-04-27T22:34:40Z

you know, I was planning to go to sleep early tonight.. thanks for not letting that happen

Of Void by Finn_Tr 2021-04-28T21:05:53Z

just when u think you have enough puzzles with gravity mechanics, u stumble upon an art piece like this which is made only in 2 days. kudos to you, love this. <3

ROOTS by TheGreenWorm 2021-04-28T21:56:15Z

I'm just happy that this exists. Gives hope. Not gonna mention how jealous i am. But really, mostly happy playing it and enjoying how elegant it is.

The Way to Survive by HerryFabien 2021-04-30T19:19:52Z

had fun until it crashed for unknown reasons, I wasn't doing anything strange. I think we are too spoiled with modern rts's that when it doesn't have some important features (which takes a long time to develop!), it becomes a bit tiring to control lots of units at the same time. regardless, I'm a sucker for these type of games and I enjoyed it while it lasted. so many room to improve though, hope you continue developing it. cheers.

Deepward by TIM4 2021-04-27T21:25:11Z

i was really focused with the cute art and easy puzzle when suddenly.. ehem. nice little game u got there. i liked the puzzle ideas with the use of light and how you managed to fit it with theme. and ended the game wanting to play more. cheers!

Deeper into the dungeon by Paprikcho 2021-04-27T21:13:12Z

those turtle looking spiders man... (gg wp)

TamanDua by Funambulist Cat 2021-04-28T21:00:21Z

did u smoke anything while doing the art? heh, I love it. the randomness for the level seems to play a huge factor in doing high score. played for a while, enjoyed it while it lasted. really nice effort for your first jam. congrats!

Deep Mine by MM gamedev 2021-04-30T19:26:18Z

yay, getting more power and mining very quickly feels very good. hard to do anything about some blocks exploding and taking half of your power especially when there's the orange flashy thing following you all the time. I enjoyed it, but feels lots of parts are incompleted (well, that's how the jams go). curious to play if you decide to develop it further. kudos!

WHITE RABBIT by pedsm 2021-04-27T22:01:54Z

hey nice use of theme! controls are almost perfect. (a bit difficult with the keyboard as most of the times it requires going tiny bit of left or right.) love the atmosphere, i don't know why but i really enjoy games where the main character is tiny. overall I really enjoyed, great job! *just a question, does the music progress with the distance in the game? if so, great! if not, maybe the beginning part was a bit too long. I was about to complain about the music but then it got interesting. really fits the mood.

Deeper than Darkness by leodantas 2021-04-27T21:08:32Z

nice effects and aesthetics you have there going! the game itself feels uncompleted, but that's the way jams go, right? good job to whole team. (one time I fell, i fell right behind a gate door, which protected me from all the enemies. it was a nice coincidence i guess :D)

Kinda Deep by sagylel 2021-04-27T17:17:48Z

wow, what a nice looking gem this is. has really smooth controls and feels extremely well polished. I just wanted to keep digging.

my question is, when can I throw my money on steam to buy this?
