Interesting entry :). It can sometimes be frustrating to try to click on something behind an object that you already stopped.

I think you could have gamified the concept though.

marcellus 2015-04-20 14:18

This is the best landscape generator game i've ever played !

texdata 2015-04-20 14:27

interesting

edve98 2015-04-20 14:30

I couldn't agree more with what jhell said. But still - nice landscape generator!

mrvanderpants 2015-04-20 14:34

This game is so soothing. It's really cool!

designernap 2015-04-20 18:59

Doesn't fit the theme at all unless I am missing some twist in the end game? ;) Nice concept though.

ancient_pixel 2015-04-20 19:00

Warm and cosy! But i had to think a little bit to see the theme.

shrapx 2015-04-20 19:02

The combination of slow music and objects starting and stopping, this is so strange. I laughed and it put a smile on my face. I like the angle of the view. I don't get how it fits to the theme though.

simonchauvin 2015-04-20 20:42

Thank you everyone for your comments!
I'm surprised about the theme interpretation I though it was pretty straightforward! :)
When you click on the pieces of decor that pass by, you actually make them move at the same speed as you. It's the most unconventional weapon I could think of :). Was that mandatory to make a weapon that kills?

ultravisitor 2015-04-20 22:17

This is really quite innovative. Maybe a bit subtle but it communicates itself very clearly. Maybe if you could see a hand or something that suggests the user has an avatar it would help people to see your way of thinking of the theme.

tasteslikefuture 2015-04-20 22:20

Very original idea! Pretty simple, but very beautiful. Great work!

sko 2015-04-20 22:41

I agree with your tweet that it absolutely shouldn't have to be a weapon that kills, and I'm very happy to see takes on that. However, I can't seem to stretch the definition of weapon in any way to possibly cover what I am seeing here, so I'm quite confused TBH!

I hope I didn't miss something. I played for quite a while and noticed more and more things were appearing. Yellow rocks, green trees, blue buildings(?) and white clouds. Was anything else supposed to come after that?

So while I can't say I understand how this fits the theme, it was fun in a weird way! I kept laughing because I didn't understand what was going on.

The sound design is so simple, yet great. It's very pleasant how different notes are played with every click and all seem to work out together, and fitting the slow beat. It reminded me a lot of Animal Crossing's sound design.

Very interesting!

dyfer 2015-04-21 13:39

I don't really see the unconventional weapon, but the idea and the graphics are super !

leaden 2015-04-21 17:35

Very medidative game. If it can be called a game. I think you need to have some elements to keep feeling of moving train. Sound of train on rails, windows jiggle.

omaha 2015-04-21 17:59

I loved the audio, especially the shifting tones when you set a piece of landscape. That's one of my favorite effects.

masterofnan 2015-04-22 12:31

Oddly soothing and compelling, and totally different from anything else I've seen so far - thanks!

sakergames 2015-04-22 12:45

What is this all about? :D

horsed 2015-04-22 12:52

It's... I don't even. It has a nice mood. And I like the graphics.

sbarrio 2015-04-22 20:07

Not really fitting the theme but I like the mood and atmosphere. Graphics are nice as well.

Oh, and by the way, it works properly on OSX :)

larzan 2015-04-23 08:41

Very unconventional for sure. +1 for finding an alternative interpretation of the theme that doesn't include death.
Great mood (music + sound + gfx)

crowbeak 2015-04-23 13:55

This is a neat toy. I think it's an interesting concept that has potential to be a fun and relaxing thing to play with if polished.

big-cow 2015-04-23 23:25

I agree with other commentators that it doesn't fit the definition of 'weapon', but it's a lovely game all the same. simple and fun. the audio added a lot to it.
on thing i found was that, whereas at first it felt like i was on a train or something passing by objects, after i clicked on a bunch of them, it felt more like i was staying still and the objects were coming towards me. i preferred the former perspective, felt more like i was going on a journey. maybe have the ground animate so it still feels like you're travelling forward?

jplur 2015-04-24 01:09

Love it! Only crit is maybe it could of referenced a train car or passenger seat, and some types of objects could of played a different sounds sample. Very glad some people are being truly unconventional with their interpretation of weapons!

simonchauvin 2015-04-24 09:29

Thank you everyone for playing and commenting. I agree with all of you and I'm working on a new version thanks to you :)

roguenoodle 2015-04-25 14:19

Very unique idea! Not sure it completely applies to theme, but it could be interesting to develop further outside of the jam.

zerocreativity1 2015-04-26 10:30

Works On Linux. Interesting idea of conveyor-belt landscape. not much else to the game though.

pierrec 2015-04-27 14:45

The theme is the only thing missing to me. This is beautiful and I love it

taro 2015-04-29 03:18

Felt like an interactive art piece. Not sure what the message was, other than a point of perspective (i.e. you are the one that's moving, possibly inside a vehicle). Was morbidly interested in seeing how many set pieces I can make still, and cause the game to crash.

gafblizzard 2015-04-30 04:59

Maybe not closely related to the theme, but it is a very creative idea. You could potentially make a puzzle game that involves matching a landscape or something. :)

techblogogy 2015-04-30 11:24

This was quite a relaxing game, audio was good, mood was nice. Nice and different approach on the theme. Great job!

kristof 2015-04-30 20:01

This definitely is unconventional ;) I like the idea. But it gets boring relatively quickly. Still, good entry.

frogcheese 2015-05-01 07:56

Not much game in this. I did like the graphics and sound, though. I think the idea has some merit as well if you change it around a little. For example, have a landscape passing by outside and let the player pick one or two parts of the landscape to travel along and destroy the other pieces for points.

geekdrums 2015-05-02 12:18

I liked this entry, it's fun! Especially I liked randomly but musically pitched click sound.

tmpxyz 2015-05-02 13:29

I've similar feeling when sitting in a long-distance train.
It's great to see someone make it into a game.

pietdagamer 2015-05-02 13:35

The music was nice and fits the mood very well.

chaoseed 2015-05-02 16:47

Kinda cool, although more of a toy than a game. ;) It was executed well, though!

gruhn 2015-05-02 16:55

A great mechanics and good audio feedbacks.

xanjos 2015-05-02 16:55

Lack of theme aside, this is a rather nice and relaxing game. I do wish there was a feature to take screenshots of your finished landscape though :)

uvwar 2015-05-02 17:13

I like it! I wish I could speed the train up or something. It might also be funny if, like you mentioned, the objects were moving in time with the train and would thus collide and knock the incoming objects out of the way.

mantlair 2015-05-02 18:37

Well good idea. Doesnt fit into theme even a bit. But it was fun. Havent checked post compe i hope you added some more landscape material.

krunoslav 2015-05-02 21:45

Nice graphics and sound.
Maybe is not in the classic definition of game (to win?) but it is very relaxing :)

spriters2000 2015-05-03 11:48

It gets boring quite quickly, but even if it's very simple, it is very engaging.

davidb 2015-05-03 16:20

nice sound and presentation (layout)

oddballdave 2015-05-06 13:50

This was an odd entry. I like odd entries. I like this. Good stuff.

gunzil 2015-05-10 05:42

Need little toy experience. Since you're at the mercy of the random generator I felt the landscape I created was more random than something I had set out to build. Would have been nice to speed up time so I could choose to ignore pieces without needing to wait a while.

Collision detection on clicks is off, if I tried to stop a piece near another piece it would often cause the nearby piece to start moving again.

jupiter_hadley 2015-05-20 16:05

Really relaxing and fun to play! I included it in part 12 of my Ludum Dare 32 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/m_vzNeNUn1c
