A random;y generated game always piques my interest! This one is good for playing while waiting for your computer to do something. I like the part about "There are an infinite amount of tiny worlds within our own world".

A nice game. The only drawback is, that once you run in a circle, the enemies all overlap on one spot. Some sort or random spawning might have been cool.
The worlds idea with the badges at the top of the screen is nice.

myfrosch 2012-04-23 16:23

Awesome Game. Only a higher resolution would be cool.

rawbits 2012-04-23 21:26

Nice idea. But I can't understand the concept fully. You save a world by torn it's heart out while robbing all the coins you can and keep smiling? o.O Well... ok!

The 'read me' is scrolls too fast I couldn't read a line. Tried to pause instinctively but there is no option like that. However the game starts when you press 1 while the 'read me' scrolls and there isn't something to let you know this. Instead you should have a back to title optin there (along with the pause of course).

These are minor things only and these flaws reflected in your code too. No big deal in a small game like this done in a hurry though...

All in all this can be a good game sometimes if you continue to develope it some more.

Cool random stuff, but not that fun. It'd be cool if the worlds were connected.

Couldn't rate because I'm using a Mac. Sorry :(

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

Pretty fun, but can get a little repetitive after a while.

nihilocrat 2012-04-25 00:27

Always good to see some procedural generation!

mrdanh 2012-04-25 18:49

Interesting idea, although it would've been nice if the different areas varied in gameplay somehow.

heugamer 2012-04-26 02:34

Really cool! Got repetitive, would like to see some more challenges.

xblinkedx 2012-04-26 03:16

Really nice, my only problem is that the enemies get stuck a lot, and they should also be able to collide with each other, because they tend to overlap. But all in all its a pretty fun game.

kharza 2012-04-26 03:17

Good fun! Occasionally you can spawn on top of the heart, and I recommend some sort of "cleared all coins" bonus. Good game!

dansludumdare 2012-04-26 03:36

Holy SHIT how did I not know about SFML? ...I'll wait for version 2 before I adopt it though. Shaders! Everything else is fine (and I've already coded it) with SDL and OpenGL. Did you move from SDL to SFML? If so, any comments?

I also love randomly generated stuff.

The music was pleasantly wonky. Love and marriage, love and marriage....

feyleafgames 2012-04-26 16:22

@dansludumdare, I had learned allegro first, then found SFML. I find it TONS easier to use than allegro. Sorry, but I have never looked into SDL.
Also, thank you for the comments, and glad you enjoyed the game and the music.

jwolf 2012-04-28 20:15

Decent idea and pretty fun.

I've got a bug though: on the Island level, the character seems to be off the top side of the screen and stuck. Resizing the window doesn't help (just stretches the view).

permanent7 2012-05-02 03:49

Very nice procedural generation! It would have made the game much better for me if I had a reason to pick up the coins, besides to beat the game. Each level was just a race to the heart for me.

pacifistgames 2012-05-06 21:26

Cute and quite fun little game. In one level I started directly on top of a heart, if you continue work on it you might want to add a check for that. I'm glad you included a mute button, the music got pretty annoying. I love the little corridors filled with coins that are added in the later parts of the games. It's tricky to get in there and back out without getting killed. Great job!

skywilly 2012-05-12 14:47

Very nice game !
