Interesting entry. I like the reflection mechanic. Seems like the hit detection is a bit off on the player, there's so much stuff passing through it but only a dead on direct hit seems to kill you.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD32 → Robowar

Wow, this is hard! I like the idea a lot, though. The shooting reminded me of a design tip from a Vlambeer talk - if you're going to give the player a button, also give them some reason to *not* press it (gun recoil, etc). There's no reason not to just hold the gun button down for the entire game here.
Maybe I haven't played a lot of shmups in my life, but I've never seen a one with a mechanic like this. I like it. Great job!
This looks so awesome. The attack patterns are really diverse and ever changing, and I can't say I've seem a game like this where you have to deflect enemy attacks. It may be because I'm normally no good at these kinds of space shooters, but I'll definitely give it a look tomorrow. I'm currently working from a Mac. :P
Good game. Really fun and cool reflection mechanic. First I found holding down the slow move button to be by far the best option but as these snakes came, I would hav really wished for some better shield control though I can of course see the reason for it to be that way.
cool game! so intense XD i wonder how the enemies will kill you though. overall i like it :D
Nice bullet hell! I like the part that player can push back the bullets!
Hey wow, we both made shmups where you reflect the shots back with a rotatable shield! Lots of differences, but built on that same core.
39,667 was my high score here but with some time I'm sure I could do better, which is a nice feeling to get from playing.
I think you did a fantastic job with the bullet patterns. You really achieved that careful feel of sneaking between gaps in the pattern, where my own game ended up someplace different. I especially enjoyed that first boss fight you have.
If I had to suggest something that could be improved, I would say the controls could be simpler. My strategy was to hold down the J key the entire game. I also held down the K key almost the entire game, only releasing it in tiny bursts when I wanted to reposition the shield. This created a problem that I am sure was at the keyboard hardware level about capturing too many keys: If I am hold BOTH j and k, then when I press W the guy will not walk up. So it was kind of complex to execute my wishes in the game. But it definitely has tight precise control required by the challenge, so once I got used to the buttons it was very nice. They were not sloppy, just complex and a bit unintuitive imo.
I appreciated the tiny hitbox in this type of game.
好棒的弹幕!红蓝变化的子弹也很有趣。看你玩的视频真爽。这个游戏完成度感觉很高!
I liked the shield mechanic allowing the player to reflect some of the enemies shots back at them. Overall the game was pretty balanced, challenging yet possible to beat. My high score was ~30,000.
This quickly gets overwhelming, but it's still pretty cool! It takes some time to get used to the shield positioning, but then the screen is so full of bullets that you can't move back to reposition x). Good execution.
Holy smokes that gets intense quick! Really hard, which means tons of fun!
Intersting mechanics, but it makes the game very difficult.
Wowzers... This game is very hard but very fun haha! Great work!
I liked the reflection mechanic. The way the mirror moves is really interesting but still intuitive. I liked the music as well. Great job.
Nice game! I liked the idea of the reflection shield but I hated the way to steer it (by moving the robot left and right) :-)
The game difficulty increases too fast IMHO or I'm just too bad at bullet hell shooter games?!
The graphics were okay and the bg music loop was well done - it did fit the game!
I had fun playing your game although I never lasted longer than a few seconds...
The game is really nice.
The only problem I found with it is that everything starts shooting at you at once. It would be a lot easier if at first, only few bullets would come at you so you can familiarize and practice the controls. Then after you become an expert in movement, more difficult enemies come at you. But that's only me.
Otherwise, a very nice idea.
