well done bro!!

mikejzx 2019-04-29 12:24

Good work! I seem to suck at this game . The music fits really well, and the general gameplay is nice!

eyedromeda 2019-04-29 13:13

Took me a while to figure out what I had to do, but other than that the game was really fun and I especially liked the retro art style and the ambient music.

mantaraytv-games 2019-04-29 14:00

It's amazing! I love it! You should add a bit more gameplay to it and I think it can be released as a full game!

daria-toni 2019-04-29 14:36

@dreamer thanks! :)

@mikejzx hey, thank you :) these game might be hard at first try, but you only need to know the location ;)

daria-toni 2019-04-29 14:40

@eyedromeda thank you for your comment! We thought that the name of the game speaks for itself :) I slightly changed the description, maybe it'll help future players.

@mantaraytv-games your comment is very nice, thank you :) I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

r3l0ad1 2019-04-29 16:21

Amazing music and well thought out gameplay, well done!

daria-toni 2019-04-29 18:25

@game-coder28 thank you for your nice comment :)

mimusangel 2019-04-29 19:11

The music is good, the innovative gameplay, mechanically the problem is that the enemy is slow to kill without being killed ...

lukein 2019-04-29 19:15

Is the pentakill the optimal strategy ?

daria-toni 2019-04-29 20:02

@mimusangel thank you! I didn't quite understand the problem. Are you saying that the machine is too slowly destroying bad robots and you don't have time to escape?

@lukein Maybe the fastest or more humane to the robots, but I don't think that the most optimal one. More dangerous, definitely :) "A good ending" is when at least one good robot remains.

rancoud 2019-04-29 20:27

Good work! I want another level like that :)

slotha 2019-04-29 21:27

Clearer instructions on what to do is the only thing it needs! The controls were smooth and the music really added to the mood. Well Done!

daria-toni 2019-04-29 21:37

@rancoud thank you for your comment :) We could've made more levels, but the main goal was working mechanics.

@slotha thank you for your nice comment and opinion :) We thought that the name of the game speaks for itself.

badram 2019-04-29 22:53

Really slick! The only unpolished thing I noticed was that diagonal movement seems to be faster than straight, remember to normalize your movement vector!

hexiez123 2019-04-30 00:48

Really nice graphics and audio. I would pay for this if it had some exta gameplay / content.

daria-toni 2019-04-30 05:38

@badram hey, thank you :) We know about the situation with diagonal movement, but left it like that. But thanks for the comment!

@hexiez123 oh, thanks, appreciate your comment :)

caranha 2019-04-30 09:00

Hey! Congratulations on finishing your first Jam! This is quite an interesting idea for the game: Trying to "kite" the robots into the trap.

One thing that I learned during Ludum Dare is that it is impossible to explain your game too much :-) It took me quite a while to understand what I was supposed to do: Are the black bots friends or enemies? What do I do to them? What is my goal? Consider adding some explanation text next time!

Also, if your game can be played full screen, consider adding a key to quit the game (such as ESC).

Finally, unity allows you to export your game to a web application! You can host the web version of your game on itch.io, give it a try!

Thanks for the cool game, the robots were super cute!

viralsun 2019-04-30 09:08

Great concept, great art style, great use of theme. Too easy. Would have liked a level progression, even if it was the same level repeated with a shorter and shorter time limit promotoing you into optimising pathing etc.

wolderado 2019-04-30 11:07

Nice graphics but didn't understand what to do. There should be tutorial or goal somewhere (Ingame or site description). (Minor Bug: Moving diagonally is faster)

nakami 2019-04-30 11:13

I have only two thing to say: The sounds are a bit to repetitive especially the sound of the player while moving. The level is could be a bit smaller and with more room variation (e.g. corridors).

pcmaster 2019-04-30 16:01

I, on the other hand, liked the repetitive sounds. A robot's life is repetitive :D I love the graphics. I like the controls. I like having to figure out what needs to be done. Very solid guys!

dinorex 2019-04-30 18:41

@caranha We hope that player would enjoy learning how the game works. Thanks for the tips on how to improve the mechanics)

@viralsun thank you for your comment) We share your opinion about the complexity, but it turned out that for some players it’s also a bit difficult)

@wolderado We thought that the name of the game speaks for itself. Thanks for your comment)

@nakami thank you for your opinions.

@pcmaster thank you for your nice comment) We're glad you like the game!

shadowhaxz0r 2019-04-30 20:32

Nice! Fun little game, I like the idea that the game gets harder if you try to do more with one life. Sounds fit well very moody, nice simple graphics

deathbysnail 2019-04-30 21:38

Good job, not bad for a first try! I like the sounds and the camera angle, the AI looked a bit stuttery and not smooth, and could do with some variations in terms of difficulty.

vaizaragorn 2019-05-01 00:10

It was a good game. But I lost in the controls. It was hard to adapt. But graphics and music was tight fit. Some good tutorials and level design can make this game a lot better. Keep up your good work!

benmcnelly 2019-05-01 03:22

Graphics and feel were just right, nice job!

attala 2019-05-01 08:18

Very nice graphics and sound. Took a while to figure out what to do, but got it in the end :)

daria-toni 2019-05-01 14:49

@shadowhaxz0r such a nice comment, thank you :)

@deathbysnail I agree with you that complication would be very appropriate. Thanks for your opinion!

@vaizaragorn Thank you! Controls may not seem easy at the beginning, but then the game becomes simple.

@benmcnelly Thank you for your comment! :)

@attala I'm glad you stayed and figured out how our game works :) Thank you!

kaisean-games 2019-05-01 16:41

At first I was confused how to win... like, there's 3 of us and 5 of them... I've played a bit, confused with controls a bit. I'm more used to W/Up being forward, not absolutely up. But that's ok, just needed to adjust. So after several minutes, I rated the game.

Then I played once more to get all 5 of them. I've done it with 2 of my robots. And when it showed me the message I thought it's done. But then the yellow robot appeared. I thought: this must be a bug, the game is finished. Then I decided to kill it. It was when the message changed that I went and increase your overall rating by 0.5 stars.

Well done.

poffle 2019-05-01 16:58

Nice polished entry. Graphics and audio were very nice, created a good atmosphere. Took a little while to figure it all out but in the end it was a pretty fun game. Nice work!

mrstari 2019-05-02 15:40

Nice audio! very funny. the graphic is sweet. Good job! :hearts:

soujd 2019-05-04 03:42

The graphics look great and the mechanics are, overall, simple yet cool. It took me a while to figure out what to do, maybe adding a tutorial would be nice! Really good work, keep it up!

potatolain 2019-05-04 21:34

Not a whole lot to say that hasn't been said, but great entry! It took a minute to figure it out, but once I got there it wasn't bad at all, with just the right amount of challenge for a game jam game.

If I had to give one bit of constructive feedback, my robot's move speed felt a little slow. It was perfect in relation to the bigger robots, but the game felt a little bit sluggish to me. That's nitpicking however, as I thought this was a great entry.

Well done!

dock-frankenstein 2019-05-05 16:53

I don't even know how to kill an enemy without killing yourself.

daria-toni 2019-05-06 16:17

@kaisean-games I'm very happy that you managed to get this experience and see what we did with the endings :) Thank you for returning to the game!

@poffle thank you! I'm glad you like it :)

@mrstari thanks a lot :)

@soujd thank you! We thought that the name of the game tells you what to do. But I'm glad you stayed and figured out :)

@cppchriscpp thanks for your opinion, I'm glad you enjoyed it! The speed of movement remained questionable, but we decided to left it that way :)

@franciszek-pyrc the thing is - you can't save all the robots :) This is part of the game. They destroy themselves in order to help the creators. But the final message changes depending on how many robots you need to destroy the bad guys.

ivan-garcia-filho 2019-05-10 15:11

Awesome game, the way you have to attract the bots to kill them is a bit lame, i think you should evolve the dynamics of the cleaning bot movement and the virus robots too, like adding some inertia to the cleaning bot movement to make wide turnning arcs and maybe drift a little, allow the virus robots to charge more quicker than you could run away from them, but allow you to dodge them and maybe make each of the robots charge against each other and kill themselves ...

The steering sfx is repetitive, you could add some perlin noise to the pitch and volume added to some pitch up effect upon increasing speed and pitch down upon decreasing speed...

Try to fix the virus robots playing overlaping sfx upon entering their Line of sight.

And add some ambience to the laboratory, to add depth and bring the feeling of a lab, like sci fi computer blips.

daria-toni 2019-05-11 12:25

@ivan-garcia-filho hi there, thank you for your opinion and advices!

cameron-dunlap 2019-05-13 22:20

Pretty good concept, but I did take off a few on theme because it wasn't so much "currency" as it was sacrifice. I found it fairly easy to beat, but not particularly boring either. I like the music and setting, but as I know others mentioned earlier, you can hear the looping in the sound for movement fairly distinctly; it sorta' catches my attention every time it plays, but it's long enough to not be too distracting.

daria-toni 2019-05-15 22:04

@cameron-dunlap hey, glad you like our little game :) It seems to me that many of the games this year would rather go to last year’s theme.

joror 2019-05-16 17:08

Very clean look! Would have liked some control explanation somewhere (even if they are simple - I might be missing 'special abilities'). The sounds effect works nicely. Ideas: Some powerups / different types of robots.

Nicely done!

pequenodev 2019-05-16 19:43

Funny concept, loved that little bots and meaning u gave their death. They 're cool, remember me WALL-E :_D Grea job dudes!walle.gif

daria-toni 2019-05-16 21:13

@joror thank you! I appreciate your opinion, I agree that more different robots would be great :)

@pequenodev here's a secret - I really thought about Wall-e when i made these robots. I think it's too obvious :) Thanks a lot, we're glad you like it :)

gonutz 2019-05-19 12:51

Your game does not give me any instructions on how to play it. When I come close to those other robots I die immediately and I don't even know what my goal is.

After looking at your screen shots I realized what needed to be done so I killed my robots and the others in the process.

I noticed that while my robot moves smoothly, the others jitter quite a bit when they follow me. That might be a bug in your algorithm to follow the main character. Also the other robots glitch through walls and corners.

The game play is simple and short, once you know what to do. I found it a bit boring because we are moving so slowly, or the office is too big, this results in driving around slowly, nothing happening. The other robots are slower than me, no real tension comes up. The game does not present a real challenge. You should ramp up your difficulty for your next LD.

Still a really nice and polished entry. The graphics are very cool, the clean but not sterile look of the office and the low lighting create a nice atmosphere in this little world! :-)

Overall a solid entry, keep up the good work!

daria-toni 2019-05-24 08:57

@gonutz hello! Sorry for late answer. Thank you for your comments, they are fair. We hope to use gained experience next time :)
