LD39 — Running out of Power

P3tr by zulubo 2017-08-01T00:22:08Z

I loved the concept and the graphics were very polished. I just found some of the areas a bit annoying because some of the new objects' purposes were not evident. For intance, the trampoline was difficult to grasp at first.

Overall, it was a great game with a great idea.

PandaBot3000 by pandaman3d 2017-08-02T02:30:00Z

Managed to beat the game, just found the bananas a bit easy to get.

Be The President by MrSerp 2017-07-31T23:57:06Z

Great use of satire and humor. The amount of documents to fill makes the game very replayable and entertaining as well!

Night Driver by nbitsstudio 2017-08-03T20:31:55Z

Difficult for me to play, but extremely fun either way! Fantastic graphics and effects, great music, great concept, and perfect use of the theme.

Rocket Barrel by Johnnyc1423 2017-08-01T00:50:47Z

Cool game, but I'm still uncertain how the theme fits.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Virus Detected by NotSpaghettiGames 2017-12-06T02:56:13Z

Cool game with a neat concept. I just found it confusing at first with little explanation on how the game worked.

LD42 — Running out of space

Better Than Thanos by Vekstr 2018-08-15T21:43:14Z

Simple, and I feel like there could've been a bit more difficulty to it. It's not that hard with the power of the infinity stones at your fingertips, I guess. The music made it seem a bit more intense than it actually was, too.

Body Hiding Simulator 1995 by incinious 2018-08-15T22:12:33Z

The voice acting was definitely worth your 90%. Yet, with all of this effort in voice acting, you pulled off a really good game with the last 10%. Hiding bodies is harder than it seems, and hopefully this simulator can properly train in the art for generations to come.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Super Sellout by Moski 2018-12-05T04:30:45Z

Looks amazing, first of all. Fitting art style and ya'll absolutely nailed it. The idea itself is novel; never would've thought this deeply about a theme like this while also having such unique context that is both comprehensible and fitting for the theme. The game is extremely well polished for ludum dare, and yet there's still quite some diversity to the sponsorships you can sign into. The idea of capitalizing on the publicity of vigilante life reaches very high in the Humor category, and it's clear I'm not alone in saying this. Across the board, this game is generally astounding for the time frame given: the art, the concept, the sounds, and the execution. Solid 5 stars.

Bloodless by Wojciech Bruski 2018-12-07T23:11:04Z

Fairly good game, and the voice acting was pretty good. I feel that it could've been longer, but the core concept was solid. Also nice to see a game with backstory.

Impatient Patients by Ryfi 2018-12-05T03:42:19Z

*seats patient and opens their chest cavity* "one moment..." *tunes radio to the most stress-inducing music possible* "so... where does it hurt?"

Sacrificio Inc. by Reality Blind 2018-12-05T03:20:26Z

Very simple and very complete. Love the visual style of the game, and some puzzles had me retrying to solve them more quickly. The music and sounds fit well. Solid 4.5, especially seeing how well polished this game is over a weekend. Also, much better deserved seeing that the game has a multitude of clever puzzles and has support for both android and windows.

Jumpman Skill Builder by rexpeppers 2018-12-05T03:00:15Z

Neat to see a Roblox submission for ludum dare. It's out of the ordinary, but I feel like Roblox is horribly underestimated as an engine (although it definitely isn't the most effective). I'd say the game itself could've been a bit longer, but seeing as this was your attempt to familiarize yourself with the engine, I'd give it a good half rating for ambition.

Wicked Kinders by Humpert764 2018-12-07T23:36:40Z

Okay... okay, I can live with this.

Maybe.

Pick Your Poison by Vimlark 2018-12-07T23:51:20Z

Pretty entertaining overall. The graphic design was well polished and the game itself was very functional. Not the most unique take on the theme, but definitely one of the better I've played. The way of choosing the way to increase difficulty makes you think a bit.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Daybreak Inn by Joror 2019-05-13T23:48:45Z

Absolutely fantastic. I beat the game, even though it absorbed a great deal of my time. The depth of this game's content surprises me for a ludum dare. I actually paid off the lich because I was making so much from the seated groups and I wasn't too certain of just how much magic power would be needed from my only good group. Until the 6-person group arrived, I was actually pretty hard pressed to deal with him. I love this game visually and mechanically, and I think it's a great entry overall. I just wish that the money had more of a use beyond dealing with the lich, but in that regard his presence makes the game quite fitting to the theme. Just wish there were more threats you had to pay off or kill to protect the inn.

Busy Hell Tycoon by svats7 2019-05-11T04:08:31Z

I think the game is interesting, but I clearly didn't seem to figure out how to play it correctly. Still a pretty good game, though, considering the graphics and music were fitting.

Crossroads by jka 2019-05-11T02:19:41Z

Fun game with a simple concept, but not the most original take overall. The game as a whole seems to get challenging quickly and I find it quite captivating. I do find the contrast between the pathway and the grass a bit eye-catching, though.

Your Life is Currency by nanocube75 2019-05-13T22:04:50Z

Amazing time playing the game. I just barely got to what I assume to be a boss, but I just died when I saw it with 104 kills. Pretty simple but fun game. Only wish the title was a bit less explicit...

"Did you know my voice is being recorded at 400 Hz? Good thing about about to BRING the Hz." -Corny Narcissistic Doom Guy

Lifeless space by PabloTitan 2019-05-13T22:37:05Z

amazing idea, but I kept getting confused as to what I was doing either way. I still managed to beat it, though, as you can easily beat most levels by being fairly conservative with elements.

Take them with you by Dinorex 2019-05-13T22:20:52Z

Pretty good concept, but I did take off a few on theme because it wasn't so much "currency" as it was sacrifice. I found it fairly easy to beat, but not particularly boring either. I like the music and setting, but as I know others mentioned earlier, you can hear the looping in the sound for movement fairly distinctly; it sorta' catches my attention every time it plays, but it's long enough to not be too distracting.

Delivery Vamp by AVSC 2019-05-13T23:01:26Z

graphics looked fantastic and fitting, except that I wish some were given for UI elements to make them stick out a bit less. The game was pretty fun, but it takes a few tries to find out where everyone is. I never did find the fisher. Not knowing where everything is makes it a bit tedious to figure out how to play for the first 5 or so minutes, but after you know the locations it gets pretty easy.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Coalesce by James Dunlap 2020-04-21T17:32:19Z

We did keep the escape to reset feature, despite not having the time to work on a complete menu or the like, mostly because the project was really on a time crunch towards the end. There's still quite a few bugs and the reset button helps to keep the game playable, despite compromising on actually having a menu. It's unfortunate that for how interesting our idea turned out to be we ended up having so little time to polish and add some of the more important aspects that we expected to become problematic for players, including the menu and reversing controls/perspective. As for the story, I don't think we even know what it is even after we've finished the game, boss and all.

Tumbleweed by Brenan 2020-04-21T04:07:30Z

great graphics and amazing world, solid 4 for me overall from those aspects alone. There's clearly a lot of time that was put into making this game into art, but overall it also feels like by being art it lacks some game. There's a clear journey, it just feels like it deserves more that can only be provided outside of an LD project.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Goblin Alchemist by James Dunlap 2020-10-06T02:43:35Z

@Wolfier I see your problem. We had noticed that the ghoul tends to hide itself from the player towards the start and it's pretty easy to get far without knowing its out there. Better than the problem we had before, where its first position was always the center and you had no choice but to deal with it from the start, but a problem nonetheless. A smaller map size may have lent itself better to the threat at play and probably made the gameplay changes at night a bit more noticeable as a result.

Hoop Knight by lectvs 2020-10-06T05:16:30Z

Most interesting take on the theme I've seen so far, and very well executed as well. Not a concept I could enjoy for too long, personally (given how slow it can be to get it up to speed), but the innovation earns it all the credit it deserves. Definitely top tier LD47 content.

Loopy Orbits by Ziamor 2020-10-06T02:37:55Z

Very big fan of the concept, and the introduction of multiple planets adds a bit of complexity and urgency to the game. Asteroids feel less invasive, but I think that's good for the current balance of the game. Graphics are the best part of this game, it LOOKS like fun and the concept and execution does the look justice. Simple and great, you did well with this one.

Chronos Time Warp by Zliebowitz 2020-10-06T05:48:02Z

Not too interesting take on the theme, but you did make a nice zelda-like dungeon crawler. It's a bit short, but there's a lot of great ideas at play here and I wish there was more of a combination of traps in some of the later rooms.

Roll A Loop by Tristan10Cats 2020-10-06T05:26:10Z

Strange happenings with the carts falling off the loop and the track going below the parallax graphics over time, but the concept is there and it works pretty well. Simple and kinda' addicting concept, nice work.

Shrinking Space by Siddharth 2020-10-06T05:59:10Z

Really fun concept, although it got pretty easy pretty fast, especially since the rings got shorter over time and so you had a whole lot of time and space to move around the core to the next platform on borrowed time. Looked great, felt great, just wish there was a bit more to keep the game interesting when you got going.

LD49 — Unstable

Serene Stability by jharler 2021-10-06T00:42:28Z

I loved the concept and overall execution. Personally, had a bit of trouble with tuning the attractor, since it seemed to very sharply drop off the closer the particle got. Seems to defy the expectation that they behave like charged particles or something of that sort, and the further they are from those objects especially the more powerful the effect. Aside from that, I think this game is definitely an impressive feat for 48 hours. Although I don't imagine it was *too* hard designing levels for this sort of concept, I do admire that there are plenty of levels to explore the concepts with.

O'Ryan by James Dunlap 2021-10-06T20:30:28Z

@pvp yeaaah, that's why we kept the F1 reset button. Lots of platforming elements that took more time to hammer out than we had. Thank you for playing!

O'Ryan by James Dunlap 2021-10-14T23:20:38Z

@malcolm Wall Jump is the first upgrade, the first accessible area was to the left of the hub and you could find it there. The hub was admittedly a tad bit large and I can definitely see you getting lost before finding it-- especially since it was higher up so apologies for that. Thank you for playing! Not entirely clear on whether we plan on continuing this, but it's definitely been one of my favorite LD projects thus far.

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-07T19:36:04Z

Very simple concept, executed masterfully.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Game Launch Delay Announcement Generator by miltage 2022-04-04T16:56:08Z

You forgot the part where they give you a small teaser to ease the tension

Sorcery's End by James Dunlap 2022-04-04T17:03:04Z

@conradoclark Thank you for the feedback! The way the pathfinding was handled made it a bit of a challenge to allow placing towers during a wave. There was also the issue of balance; while it would definitely have improved engagement during the waves, the running strategy would quickly become placing mines along paths each wave.

LD55 — Summoning

VOC by cogcomp 2024-04-18T03:59:48Z

Really amazing concept, executed very well for 20 hours as well. Making a puzzle game concept is one thing, but making effective puzzles to complement it is a bit of an ontaking and I think the selection here does the game justice.

Conjured by James Dunlap 2024-04-18T22:16:54Z

@zablas Multiplayer was actually the original concept here, specifically online lobbies to complement the "battle royale" setup; you'd fight up to 3 other players mixed in amongst the NPC sorcerers, and singleplayer would've just been the endless mode. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it working in time and much more had to be done on the front of implementing unique behavior for each of the units as well as general playtesting. That's also a big part of what restricted how much balancing we could do.

Call of Aether by Coda Highland 2024-04-18T04:41:43Z

Really fascinating game, and an impressive work for jam game at that. Took me a long while to finish the game as well, I am impressed by the depth here. Really enjoyed exploring the combinations, although my one critique is that you have to take an excessive amount of time flipping through the book to explore them all.

Shoot The Furniture! featuring S.K. Eleton by Skleembof 2024-04-18T03:47:34Z

Impressed by how much you managed to do with the graphics, didn't read the full description until I had played the game and I was under the impression that they had to be from a library given how solid they were.

As for the gameplay itself, I found that the game definitely could've used something more. Once you defeat the potted plants, then it's just a scavenger hunt... doing that isn't all too difficult either, given the number of pickups around.

Isekai Summoner by PatateNouille 2024-04-18T22:28:34Z

Fantastic presentation, the work on that front really shows. Loved the overall aesthetic, full voice acting, and the character portraits. I unfortunately didn't figure out how to approach combat in my first time through (the shrimps died ); ) and didn't have the patience for sitting through the full cutscene a second time, though. Overall great work!

Sigillum Daemon by Saltysa 2024-04-18T22:38:03Z

Loved the art and music. It was a fantastic touch making the music change with the forms you take, always like dynamic music and it's neat to see it pulled off in a game jam. Unfortunately, the game felt quite unstable; found rooms unloading at times until I retraced back and then returned. I was also getting caught on collision frequently, and found my run ended with me attached to a wall.

Apprentice Binder by andriybyelikov 2024-04-18T04:10:52Z

Really good concept, with some decent levels to show it off. Wish it could've been a bit longer. Also think the ufo may have been more suitable if it were a different summon that somehow interacted with the previous two.

Larrys ducked-up adventures by Fatz 2024-04-18T22:43:52Z

Fairly solid roguelike, never expected ducks.

LD58 — Collector

Salvage Dogs by James Dunlap 2025-10-07T00:47:09Z

@winter2277 Yeah, you enter a test zone after the 5 minute round (or all other cabins are destroyed). Press X while in the test zone to build. You will have some of the components you've destroyed directly, and all components which have detached from the cabin by extension.

Salvage Dogs by James Dunlap 2025-10-07T23:14:05Z

@cisco Unfortunately, a lot of time was spent on getting fundamental systems like building and car controls to work-- a lot of which made it implausible to nail down the AI, given the state of flux. Half of us were unavailable to do testing and development on Monday, so unfortunately how things are now are how they will be. There's definitely a lot of tweaks that could have been made, and likely would have if more of us were available to work through balance tweaks.

Thank you for trying our game! I thought yours was pretty neat as well (and it also has amazing graphics).

Deck Collector by optimatica 2025-10-06T23:42:13Z

I quite enjoy the concept, although I think an upfront explanation of the game's mechanics would have done a lot of favors.

From what I can glean in my numerous attempts: There is time, health, and mana. The timer cycles and activates each card based on its conditions (4 hourglasses means 4 cycles of the timer, 3 crystals means 3 mana, etc.) which increases your damage dealt, shield hitpoints, maximum hp, etc. Base damage dealt increases over time based on the cycles.

While I think this would be very intuitive, I think one change would have made the game feel a lot less luck based. If you could see the hand of artifacts the next opponent has, you'd be better able to put together a functional set of equipment to counter their approach.

Overall, I love the concept and I think it really fits the theme. I wish I could have sustained myself long enough to see how much the juggling of equipment, cost of rerolling for new cards, and the continued cost to engage in a battle and risk halving your holdings played a part.

Chill Gems by Cisco 2025-10-07T02:23:23Z

Fun collection game. Was frustrated at first by how often the gems would get lost, but then I realized that I could just dig for more and watch them fly everywhere.

Short, simple, and very aesthetic. I quite enjoyed it.

The Soul Collector by Pcho 2025-10-06T23:59:46Z

Pretty neat!

I managed to clear it first time through, although the quick time inputs definitely get hectic in the last minute.

Here's my feedback:

-Mouse look feels very slow, I think an option for sensitivity would've made the experience more comfortable for me.

-The quick time prompts can sometimes appear over the lantern, which is a fairly noisy part of the screen-- it makes it much easier to miss them when they start appearing over there.

-(This one seems to be a proper bug) The memorization minigame can sometimes drop the audio feedback when the player does the inputs too quickly. The keys still register, but it will not play a sound for one or more of the inputs.

-Could've used at least one more minigame, although I'm sure time was of the essence.

Overall, I loved the atmosphere and theme.

Crazy Trashy by bearcage 2025-10-07T23:33:56Z

Got lost and confused trying to figure out how the arms work, Ran over some guys out of curiosity. Found out how arms work immediately after...

It was all uphill from there, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Unfortunately, game crashed spontaneously when I ate a guy (he was already dead) while trying to appease the blood god. Guess that one was poisoned. Might try again after this comment.

Anyway, more tangible critiques:

-Car is just a bit harder to control. Although, if this jam has taught me one thing it's that cars are hard.

-Arms are a bit tricky to figure out, given their selective range.

-It's really easy to get lost with the lack of notable landmarks. I think a marker to lead you back to the depot after you've filled up on human viscera would've been quite helpful.

-Music was a bit repetitive

+Loved the spritework

+Loved the... alternative playstyles?

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Reverse by MrJake7X 2018-04-24T00:32:31Z

It took me 5 minutes to figure out that the "->/<-" key was Tab. But other than that, the only real issue is that, although it merges opposing forces, it doesn't merge incompatible themes.

World of WarPETS - LD41 by neuronezero 2018-04-24T00:49:22Z

I think the game looks great, but the lack of a title screen or tutorial of any kind feels like it throws me in head first into a battle with a fort crab that knows more about what to do than I. I cannot seem to distinguish the function of any attack except for "All in !". I wanted to see what "Give Up" did, but that sent me off the screen, from which "All In !" could pull me back into battle with the crab, except that this time neither of us could damage the other. I was just overall confused by the encounter.

00Boyfriend - A Spy's Dating Sim by SamStallion 2018-04-24T01:17:55Z

This is perhaps the best LD game I've ever played. The game is cohesive, and fits the theme very well. I think the graphics and the audio are perfect, and it gave me a few laughs. The game could definitely become something greater if work was continued past LD41.
