LD44 — Your life is currency

shoot out your life by puppetmaster 2019-05-06T02:10:18Z

This game needs a smaller resolution, the current one doesn't let me see the bottom of the screen so I can't see how many lives I have.

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-06T02:51:12Z

Very complete and polished, and this is your first LD. Great job.

And about the questions involving weapons, were you planning on having alien attacks or something like it at some point? It seems unrelated to the possible endings you put here.

The Necromancer Saga: Endless Dungeons by frankitox16 2019-05-05T01:59:07Z

Good job with the dungeon generator, it can be improved but I get the time constraints.

I only played after Update 1 so I can't say what it was before but the enemies are very easy now. It is because of how OP the fireball is, the infinite range and ammo allow you to kill effortlessy any enemy if you get it on your line of sight. The only ones who are a threat are the ones you can't kill with this trick (when they are positioned in a place that won't be in your line of sight without getting too close to alert them), but even in this case, you can just throw a skeleton on them and it tanks the damage for you.

I took some time to get the hang of the controls, having to use the mouse for both moving and shooting was not convenient for me. Take Realm of The Mad God as an reference, your controls are already a bit similar, but the movement is on the arrow / WASD keys. That game is a permadeath bullet hell. Just take a look in what the players handle with it:

Slaves of the Carribean by chriiis88 2019-05-01T21:10:03Z

Some feedback for your game: * The slavetrader should have a set list of slaves which would only be updated at the next harbor visit. The way it is now, you can exploit it by opening and closing the slavetrader screen to reroll slaves with optimal stats. * Also the ships should have controls for shooting to either direction, rather than just left. * The Quit button in the game over screen is not working

Slaves of the Carribean by chriiis88 2019-05-01T21:42:35Z

@chriiis88 It was the web version. Though it could have a restart button there so you don't have to close and reopen the game (Desktop) or refresh the screen (Web) every time you lose.

Cards of Life by GilgusMaximus 2019-05-06T03:47:15Z

The concept of the game is interesting, but the game itself is messy.

* The projectiles sometimes are not removed from the scene when you win a fight. Because at every fight start you are moved to a different position sometimes you instantly die at the start of a fight. * The Gift of Life card only works if you play it away from the player. There is no explanation for this aside from "healing Aoe" (and the damage aoe works if you play it in the opponent). * Also some projectiles are too hard to see because their colors are too similar to the background. * And many of the enemy attacks are so random that they look more like environment hazards than actual attacks.

Definitely needs polishing, but can become a great game after that. And after you get those things fixed, build a web version. It's easier to play and review.

Evil Dungeon by Balance686 2019-05-12T22:59:54Z

Cool game, the fact you have to pay your life to pass through the gates forces you to plan your movements to avoid backtracking, avoid wasting your life on dead ends, search for alternative paths and decide between relying in your skill or just paying for an easier route. The flashlight is very useful for the first three.

Aside from the lack of music, the player character doesn't fit the rest of the game art, everything is pixel art but he seems to be vetorial.

Also the game could keep the character always in the middle of the screen. In the maps corners the flashlight turns its orientation with no mouse movement because the character is moving in the screen.

And I don't know if it's just my screen, but the resolution of the web version is too big for it.

Glampire Baby Herder by don.shinski 2019-05-13T00:56:46Z

Funny concept. Though I had no idea the axes could be thrown in the dwarfes, and it seems like the axes and babies could only be caught if you are at their sides. Also they keep their colliders when you're carrying them, resulting in you getting stuck in some places because they are blocking your way.

[Don't] Insert Coin by Danilo Freire 2019-05-01T22:17:28Z

Cool game, and it was funny too. I just missed a score count to see how well I went in the game.

A Pirate's Reward by philipprapp95 2019-05-05T03:53:04Z

Very fun survival game. Are you using fixed spawn points for the enemy ships? It seems the ships can be summoned over each other. Untitled.png Also, your game has a Web build. It would be good to have it running on the itch.io page.

Seeds Of Life by PixScope 2019-05-05T02:45:11Z

Funny game. And hard! Specially at the beginning, when your health is low and any hit of the yellow bug kills you. Unlocking harder enemies as your health increases would make the difficulty greater on later stages.

Bogdan Grul's Huntless Month by gabriel_cardoso 2019-05-13T01:47:31Z

This game has a lot of mechancis to learn at the start. A tutorial and more time at the start would help.

bird food by kyavi 2019-05-01T21:36:38Z

The guillotine idea was very clever, also the graphics and sounds match well. The game issue is, as other comments pointed out, the half-tile movement, it not only makes it harder to move through tight spaces, sometimes it also makes you miss the fruits because it only detects the collsion if you are in the same tile.

NecroBlood by Little Valhalla 2019-05-12T22:12:04Z

The font in the game over screen is too dark, I almost didn't see there was a wave count on it. And that wave count could be visible during gameplay, not just at the end.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Abstractio by loyance 2019-10-10T01:55:32Z

Took me a while to understand that mixing more than 2 elements was possible. Only got it due to the hints. Also the very start of the game. That completely blank screen almost made me think your build was broken.

Unqualified Success by Paul Nadan 2019-10-19T21:39:23Z

I think I found a bug about the stuff the company wants you be good at. People say you should have a favorite A, but when asked in the interview they ask for your favorite B.

It's hard to explain because the game changes what word means what at every playthrough, but what I want to say is that the words are different.

2 Shoes by LJFMX 2019-10-13T22:54:25Z

The clickable tiles would be better if they looked more like buttons. The first time I played, I thought they were just more platforms and tried to jump on them.

The Firebrand by selkkie 2019-10-15T03:11:49Z

The initial cutscene should be skippable, it is a bit long and just showing it the first time is enough. Also sometimes the game resets by itself.

Partz by lootgrounds 2019-10-16T15:29:03Z

When I jump on the left hole, go back to the first room, then jump on the right, I go to the room of the left hole. The same happens if I jump on the right one (both holes then go to the right one). Was that intentional?

Also, I think the pickup button should be closer to the others. It wasn't very confortable to have my fingers at Z, E and Space keys at the same time.

The Unknown Nude by romes 2019-10-14T00:43:25Z

The game could have a restart button, whenever I finish the game I have to reload the page to play again, and it takes a lot to load.

Also, I couldn't kill the merchant the first time the option appeared to me, it only worked when I got some health. If this was supposed to be a requirement, then it would be better if the character either died trying to kill him or the option didn't appear at all.

til0x by nordicebear 2019-10-19T14:57:14Z

Interesting game, you could do some proofreading on the rules, I didn't understand them well and it took me some playthroughs to get how the game worked.

Trail Jam: it go well oreGONE wrong by Hunt 2019-10-13T22:20:36Z

It would be helpful if the game informed me how much of each stuff I needed to have at the end. Also, I took diseases without having any medicine and didn't die.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Looks like I can still play the game after losing. The clock doesn't progress though.

You play by clicking the buttons to progress the cutscenes or choose what to do.

I updated the page to include the instructions.

Life of a Homeless by Marcel Grolms 2020-04-21T16:58:54Z

The floor could be less slippery. And it would be nice if the character could get from the grass to the sidewalk without having to jump.
