Nice job! I love the graphics! Good job on the mood of the game!

entropy 2019-04-30 13:53

Really good job on the graphics and the music, love it. I found it a bit easy thought !

jin47 2019-04-30 13:55

I really enjoyed the overall aspect of the game. nice modelisation with a simple but efficient design. It is a bit tricky to aim but I think that is the goal. I enjoyed the music too. Really nice job!

petitpois 2019-04-30 13:56

great fun, i liked the music

hildebrandt 2019-04-30 13:57

I really loved this game. Very fun to play, a little bit easy and I had some trouble with the mouse on the web version, but overall it was awesome. Thx for sharing

kurt-roembke 2019-04-30 13:57

Cool game! Polished feel and the audio/music is really nice!

ditam 2019-04-30 13:58

This is one of the most fun games of the jam I've tried so far, congrats! The collision mechanics are a bit buggy, but it can make for some fun daredevil moves of ships-jumping-over-islands, GTA(Grand Theft Armada?)-style.

greenboxgames 2019-04-30 13:58

Great game! Awesome graphics I really like the low poly athletics. The game play is really solid and its pretty fun to just run round and blow up other ships. However that gets boring after a while, maybe it could've been engaging for longer if there was some kind of ship or weapon diversity? I also think it would have been cool if you had had the time to add a system where you take or deal damage if you ram into another ship/island. Other then those things though your game is spectacular! Good job!

rodnasca 2019-04-30 13:59

Love the graphics, and the ideal is wonderful. But the control of the camera moves a little too fast, I was kind of lost XD

madbarron 2019-04-30 14:00

Impressive! You made a fun world to sail around in. Took a little bit to get used to the fact that cannon balls don't inherit from the ship's velocity. But great work, it looks amazing!

mharring 2019-04-30 14:03

Well done! Quite fun, although a little too easy for me. Great implementation of the theme and visually impressive for such a short time. I like how your cannons fire differently than the enemy ships - makes it so you can out-maneuver them and feel clever about it.

3mpty 2019-04-30 14:04

Gameplay was a little monotonous, wish the was a bit more variety to combat, controlling the ship was also pretty clunky...

Gorgeous level design, I'd recommend looking into shaders to do some vertex wobble for the ocean next time ;)

I absolutely love the art style, the ships, the planet, the islands, everything works wonderfully together and it's super colorful and fun to look at!

The sphere system worked great, really impressive work there

josehzz 2019-04-30 14:13

I like it, if I may suggest a mechanic where you spend your reward for upgrades would be nice.

Aarrggh! I really liked the idea of the game, but that camera made me so sick, bleh. I'm a big fan of ship games like Windward, so this was a good find, and I wish I could have played it longer before I got to the I'm-gonna-throw-up-any-minute-now point.

Like @mharring, I enjoyed how the enemy ships' cannons fired directly from the front, while the player's fired out of the side. It was a pretty good move for designing the AI, and it made fighting more interesting.

avsc 2019-05-05 03:53

Very fun survival game. Are you using fixed spawn points for the enemy ships? It seems the ships can be summoned over each other. Untitled.png Also, your game has a Web build. It would be good to have it running on the itch.io page.

philipprapp95 2019-05-06 10:42

@avsc Yes, we used fixed Spam points. Unfortunately we noticed the bug with the ships climbing on each other too late. Thanks for mentioning the problem with the web build, we fixed it :)

mrbrooms 2019-05-06 11:00

What can I do whith my money ?

philipprapp95 2019-05-06 11:26

@mrbrooms unfortunately currently nothing :( We wanted to implement a shop where you can spent money you got for their heads for upgrades like new cannons, faster ship or eventually building a harbor :D would've been a better use of the theme, but this is how LD works.

someanotherguy 2019-05-06 11:28

Great work, my head spins a bit after playing for a long time :)

mrbrooms 2019-05-06 12:21

@philipprapp95 ok nice maybe you will do it ?

lubaka 2019-05-06 13:49

An incredibly fun game! I liked literally everything about it! I think with a bigger world, some options to buy ships and upgrades this could be an amazing browser online game (or a normal online game in general)! Fantastic work!

cubicode 2019-05-06 13:54

Really cool game. I could play it for hours.

I especially like the graphics - amazing. You can even see the clouds move when you are standing still.

Also the music is very nice.

philipprapp95 2019-05-06 14:40

@mrbrooms We both decided to definitely continue working on this project and add a few features :D We will post a Post-LD version if we are satisfied with the outcome :) if you want, I can tag you here in the comment section.

xsoodx 2019-05-06 14:54

I love this game. Combat is really fun. Graphics are really good. Music is awesome. I love how you can out maneuver the enemies. Really great job!

seizethedia 2019-05-06 16:01

Graphics are very good and the music is super fun. I feel like it needs a center camera button but otherwise had a ton of funny moments running the Ai in circles. The pathfinding has issues at times, they kept spawning on rocks or navigating over coastlines. Perhaps not intentional but nonetheless pretty funny to watch. This was made in Unity, correct? What tools were used for art and music? Thanks!

paul59 2019-05-06 16:04

Fun little game, good music and graphics with just enough frustration factor when you're trying to get the enemy in your sights. Well done!

mrbrooms 2019-05-06 16:33

@philipprapp95 yes I want

mediyaz 2019-05-06 17:59

I really enjoyed this - I liked running rings around the other ships and waiting to give them a broadside was very satisfying!

philipprapp95 2019-05-06 19:37

@seizethedia Thank you very much for your feedback :) To get a proper pathfinding system on the sphere was pretty challenging, we changed the complete system just hours before the deadline. But yeah, we also found it pretty funny to watch :D Right, we used Unity as engine. For the 3D graphics we used Blender, the 2D graphics were made with GIMP, for a few other things I used Affinity-Designer, but GIMP has pretty much all you need. For the music we used garage band :)

antztakeover 2019-05-06 20:48

Really cool game! The graphics were super nice and the small sphere world worked really well. The difficulty could be increased a little though! The camera mechanic was a little clunky but other than that it was great!

scottyseus 2019-05-08 13:56

this game is dope! the graphics are absurdly good for a weekend game, and the camera controls were top-notch!

ivan-garcia-filho 2019-05-17 12:20

Awesome entry with amazing graphics!

The music is engaging, but you nocite it looping abruptly.

The Ambience loop is repetitive but seamless, you should try to oscilate the pitch and volume of the clips whenever they loop to achieve almost no repetition and i think there's missing some random wood squeaking and creaking from the hull, seaguls, and enhance the cannon balls with some water sfx if you miss the opponent ship and add some wood being shatttered to the ship being impacted by the cannon ball.

The horizon is too clear an i think you could add some fog to blend it with the skybox.

I got to a reward of 1328. The art is really nice. Aiming is a bit awkward, particularly because I can't turn while stationary. I like that because I shoot to the side while enemies shoot forwards, I can flank them.
