i like it. i will remember this game and will play it for long time! When i have time to play :) The one thing that seems not nice, it's only music change, it's can be really annoying when play one track, than instantly changes to another. Button "menu" works bad. i was thinking that it's like "pause" but it dont. and need only to exit? Sorry for my bad english

Wow this is such a big game. Amazing that you managed to build this in a weekend. I cannot play it too long right now, I hope I will later. It looks like the PlanetBase game on steam. Only then 2d top down. Well done!

I'm pretty bad at games so I died real fast. I'm guessing my macro game wasnt on point? Either way it's a nice concept for a resource management kinda deal. I enjoyed my time.

Overall a great little strategy with some good music and aesthetics. The game did feel a little slow at times but still held my interest for a while. Liked many of the mechanics in general. Good job!

The aesthetic of the game was really good! I wish I could have learned more of the mechanics, it looked like it was pretty deep. I never got to that point though, I always died right after finishing the five solar panels. A bit more time at the start to get used to the game would be nice. I think tooltips would help a lot too, being able to hover over tiles and see what they are, for example, would be a big help.

Good use of the theme. I really like the graphics and ui

I tried for about half an hour and couldn't figure out what makes the AI go pick up mined stuff. The mines were connected to the grid, so they were powered, but it only queued up a resource pickup one in six times, and by that time I'd run out of energy.

The help pages weren't much use either since they were half off the left hand side of the screen.

I could see this game being really compelling if there was more feedback and control of what you're doing.

Interesting constructions system that handle a builder but that's difficult to understand properly the purpose of each thing.

james-dunlap 2017-08-01 23:39

@geeitsomelaldy The resource pickup is automatic. If we had more time, we would have allowed you to queue up a job for resource pickup, but alas, 72 hours was not long enough since we did code everything, UI, pathfinding, game mechanics. etc. completely from scratch. The key is to build a silicon mine and powering it before finishing enough solar panels to reverse the energy loss. This way, the mine will create enough resources for you to be able to continue. I find that 3-4 panels, then a mine and power, then more solar panels tends to work for me by about 800-1200 power depending on the distance from the ship to the mine.

And thanks for the tip about the help pages. You must have been playing the WebGL version, but not in fullscreen. We just looked and that was a bug that crept in at the last moment when a quick change was made to that UI to fix another issue. We obviously did not test that again before publishing. If you put the web version in fullscreen, the help will work correctly.

I want to like your game but I've tried many time and only once did the rover go get stuff from a mine before I died, frustrating. other than that I rally like the idea. great work.

Pretty hard ! But I love that kind of space-colony-you-manage-everything game

nordtraveller 2017-08-05 08:12

It`s nice simple strategy game.

cole-and-jordan-studios 2017-08-09 00:10

Nicely done. It was pretty difficult, I must say. I couldn't really figure out how to create sustainable power on my first two plays. The placing UI was also a bit finicky and sometimes froze the game for like 5 seconds when I built something. But it's a solid concept and basically well put together.

knarfux 2017-08-11 14:47

I like this kind of game, and the resources management really fit the theme. The game just need more balance, the digging is really too slow, you have to wait 3 minutes before having your first resources, and at the start of the game, you can only wait without doing anything else.

rootpew 2017-08-13 17:41

Wow, that's 5 stars for me.

There's a huge amount of complexity in this little building sim - more than what's usual for stuff you'd see on LD. My only major nitpick is in how slow the gameplay is - both in movement, and building. If it were sped up by about 2-3x, then I think you'd have an excellent game on your hands.

Congrats on the entry!

garethjenkins 2017-08-18 21:34

Took a while to figure out the basics, possibly because things felt slow. Music made me think something was about to go horribly wrong all of the time.
