Wish I had a trackball, because I feel that would fit so perfectly with the mechanic. I didn't read all of the text as the font is a bit hard to parse.

"No need for keyboard ! You play with your mouse only" "Press Space to begin your journey" :)
Beautiful graphics and nice control scheme!
Really interesting gameplay. Control and mechanics is well balance and tuned(only die once)! Action and mini puzzler combine! Ending was unexpected O-O
This amount of world creation in 72 hours is crazy. I don’t know how much Unreal engine does for you, but the atmosphere is incredible regardless. I’m not so happy with the fact that my machine apperantly can’t quite handle this though, as I’ve experienced some significant frame drops in the beginning section (running on a Radeon RX 560, if that matters).
Beyond that, the white on white cursor in the beginning of the game left me pretty disoriented (I took a minute to find that I HAD a cursor), and “No need for keyboard!” is a funny lie when the first thing the game tells you to do is to “Press Space” to begin the journey.
All that said, the overall quality of the game left me craving for more. The controls were smooth (or, as smooth as the lag I experienced would allow), the graphics were absolutely stunning, and I truly felt like I was going to be on a long journey that (understandably) ended way too early. Thank you for this experience!
PS: Master of the internet as I am, I posted this on your feed post first because the website wasn't working properly and I was disoriented (again).
Real good
Thanks for the feedback so far !
Looks and plays amazing!! This is just perfect!
Unbelievable quality for 72 hours. I'm jealous.
Great game play loved the look and feel of it. Mind is blown for this being created in less then 72 hours but definitely a quality entry I feel will take at least top in a few of the sections. The only issue I had was that I could not escape the game or pause it. I got stuck behind a piece of metal and had to close out the game and start it back up. But besides that quality all around.
When I started playing the game, I expected to have a simple experience, but, this is a amazing experience, the level design, graphics and sound runs really well! It's a great job for your team! Thanks for share your game!
GREAT JOB!! One of the best entry!
Amazing experience, i can really feel the game! Omg... perfect!
great graphics and amazing world, solid 4 for me overall from those aspects alone. There's clearly a lot of time that was put into making this game into art, but overall it also feels like by being art it lacks some game. There's a clear journey, it just feels like it deserves more that can only be provided outside of an LD project.
It's amazing how in just a couple of day something can look like that! The mechanic of the game is really original and well carried out. Good Job!
Graphics and Mood 5/5. It looks S T U N N I N G Content apart. you could take the video footage and screenshots you have and actually sell this as a indie/AA game. Many would click. Wow.
The game is visually amazing! The music is on the spot for mood, Controlling the wind is challenging and the scenarios and the interactions are very well built! Awesome job!
The game is beautifull, the idea really original. It's a bit hard to control ! Overall very great work !
Very impressive work !
This is just amazing. Cant believe this is made in 3 days. Very nice job.
Visually this game is incredibly impress, kudos to you at the team for being able to pull this off in 72 hours. It really set up a moody atmosphere and world.
It felt like a neat journey overall, but the controls were a bit more finicky than I would have liked. Maybe a feature when you click, drag, and release and the wind speed is based on how long you dragged before released would help a bit, rather than having to click and drag over and over.
Thanks for the visual treat, it's not often you get something that looks this high quality during a game jam!
Very impressive visual style. You are really genius if you can create this game in only 3 days
I'm amazed that you managed to do so much in 72 hours. Congrats ! Everything feels polished and smooth. Controls were a bit repetitive in the long run though, hopefully the level was still short enough so it didn't bother me that much. Anyway, good job !
Thanks a lot everyone for your feedbacks ! We are very happy to see so good reviews of the game
@ryannielson It depends on the length of your drag, but maybe the coefficient of difference between a short and a long line should be increased. Anyway, thanks for your complete comment !
Really awesome game, especially for graphics
The game freezes on a white screen after the opening text from the main menu, the cursor draws repeatedly to it but I am unable to proceed otherwise.
Edit: switching to Windows 7 compatibility mode seemed to fix it?
This game is truly fantastic, you guys should be proud of your work and for having completed in the 72h time limit, also.
The only real suggestion I can think of right now is having the wind direction influenced by the surface the cursor's location, eg when going up a ramp, moving the mouse along the ramp the wind would follow it but instead it simply follows the cursor's ray vs a ground plane.
It's a minor gripe and once you understand how it works you can adjust, but for such a minimal input scheme I think polishing it in ways like this really make it play that much better.
Once again fantastic work.
Holy s****t, what a qulity for a 72h jam game, impressive guys, great job, the game is calm and relaxing the mechanics are smooth and clear, such a great experience, well done!
Wow those assets are amazing. Good job, no wonder if you are going to win for best graphics. And you even had the time to make a awesome cutscene at the end. Gameplay is a little bit boring, but it also seems like its more about storytelling. Very original, well done
@nimphious Thanks for your feedback ! Actually the mechanic was first implemented this way, but we thought that it would be hard to understood it, so we simplified it. It is enough like this for the needs of the game.
You should consider making animated shorts. Graphics, mood(+writing) and sound design are off the scale–I honestly can't believe all the assets were made during the event–but there was not much challenge, and the wind sometimes felt too unresponsive. I hope to see more from you, but polish that game design department. Thank you for making this piece of art.
Amazing game! one of the bests of this Ludum Dare! Congrats!
Amazing game guys ! Not really much more to say besides I'm impressed by your work and, I suppose, the TeamWork that it needed =)
Oh my god. Wow. These graphics are literally AAA. How are you guys so talented? The game is peaceful too. It has more gameplay than a lot of LD games, and yet the gameplay is not the focus, nor does the game feel stressful or intense in that way. I wish I could create graphics like this. The only issue I found was that the poems faded out a bit fast, though I was reading them out loud for the stream. Amazing.
Top notch! One of the best if not the best game of this jam.
Amazing game! I played without a mouse, graphic tablet is the best input device for this game!
Wow this game looks amazing for some reason it gives me that halo feel
Amazing, just amazing, in just 72h... I can't put 7 out of 5 for graphics... I can't play on my mac, but I watched the whole video, it's incredible work, bravos !
This game is incredible! When I saw the screen shots I was really in disbelief that this was made in such a short amount of time! I think the thing I loved the most about it was how accurate the physics were for the tumble weed, I really wish I could have played more but sadly it was just a little to intensive for my computer to handle. I look forward to giving it another shot when I get back to my main PC!
One of the most gorgeous games of this Ludun Dare. Great experience overall. Good job!
This game does quite a lot right (and it's obvious you guys know it) so I'll just highlight my highs and lows of playing it.
The mood of the game was really excellent, mostly due to the solid graphics work. The post processing was largely on point (even if the depth of field was a bit overpowering at times, guessing you wanted to avoid detailing the background quite as much  ) and it complemented the sci-fi aesthetic quite nicely. I was surprised at the number of unique models you managed to cram in (though I guess you did have 6 people working on the game). Clearly it let you do a good amount of world building despite the constraints. Even though I don't know what exactly was "going on", I could feel what was going on.
I would have to say that the hard surfaces were superior to the organic ones, mainly due to the fact that dirt textures seemed a bit on the unnaturally-clean side and the rocks seemed a bit too... smooth? Perhaps too perfect. Obviously they're much harder to get right, but if there was one thing that would really take this to the next level from a quality standpoint, I'd say nailing the organic models/textures would be the main thing to focus on. That being said, they're not bad by a long shot, especially for a jam game.
One of the biggest weak points, however, was the font choice. The number of flourishes, especially on letters like "n" made reading quickly very difficult, which is unfortunate as the text didn't stay very long and I was mostly focused on the action and didn't have time to parse the text. Regardless, the text I did manage to read was pleasant and helped contribute the atmosphere in a meaningful way.
Another point I was debating about was the controls. In the end, I think they were probably a detractor, even though they were unique and thematically made sense. The amount of platforming and dodging required combined with the fact that it's not obvious that your cursor has to _touch_ the tumbleweed while dragging made the experience a bit more frustrating than it should have been. Missing what should have been a simple ramp jump and having to slowly roll back to try again was rather distracting. Of course, a "normal" control scheme such as using the arrow keys would probably have been less unique and interesting, but if this was a full title, I would probably give up if you stuck with the current input method. Given the length here, I think it manages to not lose it's novelty too quickly and thus I'll remain content with it, even if I think it was less than ideal.
_Whew._ All that being said, definitely one of the better submissions I've seen here. Hope you find luck with whatever your next project is.
This was the most visually impressive game I've played thus far! The only thing I had gripe with was that the wind seemed to be unresponsive at times, and I wasn't sure if there was some meter that kept me from using the wind successively.
Just visually stunning. Music, sound effects, and the tidbits of text were a big part of the mood-setter. You did a wonderful job of gradually breaking us in to the intricacies of the gameplay and just when I was wondering what else you could put in, a new and often surprising thing comes to greet us. I think the controls added a lot of "Will I make it?" cross-fingered moments and that's really a lot considering we're investing our time on watching a tumbleweed roll around. There were instances I think that some lasers would penetrate hard surfaces. And also it does get quite difficult to see my tumbleweed when the camera is inside a structure. It can also get quite laggy. All in all, a wonderful job! Gameplay, check. Level design, check. Audio, check. Visuals, triple check. Thanks for the experience!
Visally and mechanially, this game is spectacular! It was peaceful and enjoyable giving an amazing mood. Incredibly well crafted and extremely impressive in a game jam (even with the team size). I'm trying to think of a final sentence, but the only word is: WOW! So there you go!
Wow this game is just really impressive. I had so much fun, and the mood is so relaxing! Also the graphics are amazing.
I think we have a winner here
Just played! very nice! Probably I will tweet about this in the next day on this page https://twitter.com/Free_IndieGames !
Thanks everyone !
@guitarbro Thanks for your very detailed feedback. We hear the critic and agree with you on most points, there is a lot of things we would have done better with more time haha.
@bongooo Thanks ! We will be looking for that !
The production level of this entry is insane. The design is pretty good too! One of the few entries to get 5 stars from me :)
Beautiful and very atmospheric :)
What in the world you Have made This is some AAA Quality. Love Every Thing about it. but thing there is a bug on the first ramp i was not able to une the mouse on the start of the ramp so i have to run up for that. Love the Enviroment. Keep it Up Guys Goodluck. :v:
This has to be the best looking game I've seen at this Jam so far! The enviroments look incredibly well detailed, and the futuristic set pieces really blend well with the desert.
Biggest gripe however is the controls, for some reason the mouse dragging isn't always responsive, so there were multiple occassions where I died because I was unable to get the wind to blow in the direction I wanted to despite clicking and dragging the mouse multiple times in the direction I wanted to.
I think either clicking from the centre, or for gamepad the analog stick combined with a button press, would have been a much better way to play the game with.
Oh My God, this probably is the most atmospheric and beautiful game i have seen so far in the jam! I cannot imagine how were you guys able to make in in 72 hours, but his is absolutely HILARIOUS!
Really incredible quality game. Congratulations to all the team for such a stunning game!
Impressive in so little time
Solid entry with very good graphics and level design ! The only thing that felt a bit disappointing were the controls for me. Otherwise it is close to perfect, congrats !
Nice game, I will just complain about the drag and drop that is not always destected and can be a bit frustrating
Amazing graphics! Really sets a great atmosphere and mood :D! Like people before me I think the controls could be tweaked a bit, but it is definitely worth trying this game :sunglasses:!
Did you guys even sleep in that game jam ? :D really really impressive work on that game, one of the best of the LD i've seen so far !
A little complain from a tiny weak laptop, though, it's quite laggy due to the graphics quality :/
Just amazing for a game jam ! I think there is a way to go further in the idea ! One of the only little problems for me is the text that you don't have time to read at certain times. A voice over may help us to put in the mood.
Hey, just a heads up: if you launch the game with a VR headset connected, it will not run properly. The game kept trying to launch my oculus software instead of starting the first level.
I cannot believe that you did this game in less than 3 days (~~je ne dis pas que tu es menteur, simplement~~ la qualité est telle qu'il me semble voir là un projet de fin d'année). However you did something really interesting with a solid gameplay and some gorgeous aesthetic. Controls are a litle bit too weird for me, but overall it's a neat entry. Well done ++
@gal-afik oh we are sorry for this convenient, we didn't know haha, thanks for the report !
Visually stunning, gave me a real post-apocalyptic vibe. The music fitted nicely into the setting. The ending made me laugh out loud, great job!
The graphics and audio are **impressive**. A stunningly beautiful game for 72 hours, no question about that. Maybe the font choice wasn't the best for in-game text, but it wasn't too bad. Level design was also on point!
However, I didn't really like the "click 'n drag" gameplay, personally it felt somewhat unresponsive and kept distracting me. I think having it so that you just click towards the direction for a push would already alleviate that a lot, or even getting a constant wind push by dragging towards a direction.
Regardless, fantastic work!
Unbelievable! I hope to one day make a game as beautiful as this one. You nailed it!
The game looks beautiful and the whole atmosphere is on point for relaxing after the jam :D I guess that's how you can make your game look with five artists and one poor programmer.
Mechanic wise, it is still just a roll the ball game but it looks pretty :D
Wow... this is astonishingly good. Probably the most impressive entry I've seen, and not just in _this_ jam either! The graphics as has already been mentioned, are just _beautiful_. You really set a nice tone with the audio and the space, the quiet serenity that's juxtaposed with sci-fi obstacles and peril. Frankly, I loved it. Obviously it's a simple mechanic and the controls aren't easy to work with, but that's on point with the setup. I think you could flesh this out into a longer game with multiple environments and an arching storyline, but the challenge would be to stop the single mechanic getting dull over time. In any case, absolutely top notch work. Very well done!
Oh yes, and just to mention as someone else did earlier - impossible to get the game running properly with a VR headset plugged in. I had to disable the service... In fact, I _did_ at one point manage to view the world _through_ the headset and that was jawdroppingly good - you could probably give this a VR mode without much difficulty, it's really just the view angle that causes a problem. If you could control the wind with a touch controller, you're done!
Brilliant idea, amazing graphics. Sadly I could not enjoy the game fully, I had quite low FPS, I have no GPU :(. My computer almost exploded from the heat :D
I am not into poetry but I really liked how the words sounded and rhymed, the visuals were just beautiful, in-fact it was too beautiful that the game ran in 20 fps on my PC, but overall I REALLY liked it and how beautiful everything looked, the desert, the ships, everything just felt good. Incredible work, good job.
Wow, I see you invested a lot of time in level design because it's amazing. Not too difficult, but fun, professional game!
Absolutely stunning!
That's nearly perfect for me. I'm just going to talk about what I didn't like as much since everything else is just 5/5.
The gameplay is good enough for a jam, it's nice but it's not breathtaking. I think that it could be smoother if the wind kept pushing forever or something. Again, it did not deserve the game at all.
Now, the only real thing that I found is that the tumbleweed is just a static mesh rolling, and it shows. Since it's the main character, I think it would have been a good idea to allocate time to improve it and make it have some physic instead of something like the end cutscene (which is really cool, but no one would have complained if it didn't exist).
Gorgeous, totally enamoured by those visuals and the cogency of your world
Tumbleweed? Goosebumps! (That is to say, absolutely phenomenal, I felt things I was not ready to feel for this experience)
Outstanding visuals! This game looks incredible :) The lonely soundtrack really sets a perfect mood for this whole experience as well. Kudos to all of you that worked on this game! Truly this is something to be proud of!
Wow! There is not much to say that other comments have not already said, but I'll give it my best try. I played through the game twice. Once as intended and once to purposely break the game. I didn't find to much wrong with the game other then some collision problems which is even more impressive from a programming point of view. I got to say it was fun both time. The game is a shining testament to knowing how to use your tools. A+ Great job!
Wow! What an amazing game! The end was funny. I loved it!
So I finished it and all I could say when the credits rolled was 'Wow' One of the most impressive Ludum Dare games Ive seen, very inspriring work. Love the cinematic visuals, the music, the dear esther vibes with the poetry. 10/10 (or should I say 5 stars) for everything!
omg that was so cuttttttttttttte
Very impressive. Good use of environmental materials, lights, emissive textures, and post processing.
If I had a critique, it would be that reading a poem while getting shot by lasers was a little incongruent. I would have liked to have seen a melancholy exploration of the remains of a crashed alien ship. Also, I feel that just keeping your avatar alive is a little besides the theme.
That being said, the poem was great, visuals were spot on. I'd play this if it were a full game. I'd play anything you make if this game is any indication. Amazingly well made.
The graphics are simply AAA quality or even better than that! Amazing material work, VFX, post-processing as well as audio work with the music and the SFX. This was perfect both in visual and audio quality. I kinda felt bad that this amazing work didn't have an equally amazing gameplay to go side-by-side. Don't get me wrong - the gameplay was alright and the controls while unconventional, they worked really well! I'd just love running around in this whole level shooting demons (kinda been playing DOOM Eternal lately) or something! Amazing work though, congratulations to the whole team!!
Incredible. Definitely one of the best entry I played. Mood and graphics are amazing. Keep up the good work guys.
Awesome game with extremely good graphics. I found myself stuck at one point where I was supposed to build a bridge and I had two metal pieces on each other, one of which didn't allow me to move upwards and there was no way to move them away. The controls are truly intuitive, however! :)
Amazing mood and graphics, I am jalous (using UE4 and substance too). Poetic. One little camera problem in the town (and you can't control it)
Mechanics / Art / music / FXs are top!
Level design feels a bit lacking (still good enough to play, but compared to the rest it's the weakest part), the hardest part for me was going straight on a beam (like died 15+ times). The rest of the aventure felt like no real challenge. The towers are not dangerous enough, always going forward is enough to avoid being shot.
I died so many times trying to cross the beam, I don't see the point of the press R to respawn screen, just rollback to respawn position (took me longer to get to the "press R" screen after death, than to respawn and die again on that beam ^^).
The dialogues in the lower corner, I can't read them while I drive my tumbleweed, maybe put them closer to the center of attention.
Still a very impressive achievement for a 72h game. Good Job !
This is fantastic. The art, the atmosphere, the sound, the story, everything. You guys really nailed it!
Gorgeous. Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I was playing on Surface Book 2 and had problems with the trackpad- (a windows problem) used the touch screen instead- problems solved. What a fantastic little world you have built here. Thank you for the game!
tumble.jpg
Graphics and Audio need a lot of work. haha not.. amazing.. not my type of game mechanically speaking but incredible journey nevertheless.. The atmosphere really brought me in
I really enjoyed playing this game and I wouldn't mind to have this game in my library to relax after long day of work.
Music is great and tranquil, visuals are amazing. I think fonts and logo are just beautiful. I love those bits of poems along the journey. Very innovative game play I think it's brilliant that you actually don't control tumbleweed but you control wind with a lot of inertia and interaction with environment.
All in all it is very good production with few comments: - I couldn't manage to read full text at the beginning, and when I was restarting game I didn't want to wait for it to disappear anymore. Some keypress to skip further would be great I think. - You guys killed my lenovo yoga laptop :) I had to go down to 800x600 to have decent fps
Rafal from 4Boa Team
Just amazing, hard to believe you did this in just 3 days! Sadly it was quite laggy on my computer, but that's not your fault. Really liked the artstyle!
Dude your game is amazing on so many levels, I love it. That's it. That's the tweet.
Hello! Your game was played during my stream!
If you want to know the timestamp of when your game was played you can see it in this spreadsheet: https://tinyurl.com/yau8hjzn
And then look in my latest videos and find your game being play (after the current stream ends) https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos
@ursagames thank you for the stream, we're glad you enjoyed it ! Watching your video was a pleasure Good luck with all those games you have to test haha
Okay, it's beautiful. The environments were detailed enough to be believable, the lights and efect were perfectly mastered. Gameplay was simple enough and with a bit of challenge (even if dodging the turrets was really easy), so even with 10fps I managed to finish the game in one run :D !
Great job to everyone !
Wow, no reason to reiterate the obvious, but damn the polish on this is incredible! I'll never understand why you didn't bind the "start game" and "restart" to the mouse, but that's honestly the only nitpick, I can come up with. Great graphics, great gameplay, great sound, great everything.
Ok, that was a very interesting first game to play for the LD46. I'm quite biased already because there is not really much negative to say about your game. It looks, sounds and plays really awesome. The controls with the mouse are ok, but I think it will work even better on a mobile device with swipe actions. I guess you had something like this in mind. If not, go for it, because it will be a really cool mobile game.
I was not really testing the boundaries of your game, but the first time I went off-track I directly found a structure without collisions. I think it was after the first laser enemy. But that did not lower my score for your game.
@hjalte It's a big regret from the team, but without any user experience it was hard to see the problem. Now the game is out and we can't change it. Thanks for your feedback !
Such a gorgeous game, probably my favourite one so far, wow! the lighting!! the global illumination and/or lighting of the scifi stuff together with the nature assets and light had such a beautiful contrast! sheer poetry. also I LOVE tumbleweed, always thought those were cute no idea why, so there is literally no way I can not like this, lol. can you explain to me how to beat the second puzzle though? where this scifi stuff falls down, I can't figure out how to go up there and I wanna see the beautiful rest :( (that might be the only critique for you - add more hints if dummies like me get stuck haha)
I feel like if you continue to work on this you can put it on steam no problem! has an awesome beautifully eerie but peaceful vibe, sort of like journey! Very very good job, you assembled a great team there! :) I also loved that you put work into the cursor and that before you begin you dont know what/where thr player is, only after you put a little wind there, that was a really nice touch! the story put into the image as text while playing also looked beautiful! the whole thing is simply breathtaking.
Really impressive game for a jam and probably a serious contender for the win in Graphics. Surprising that you could build that much assets over 72h and put them together in a coherent and beautiful level. Audio and the 'poetry' lines work well together to set up the mood. Also, dunno why you opted out in the Humor category, the irony of the end definitely made me laugh.
Some nitpicking would be that it should be possible to skip the intro or the death screen early and that clicking should work to start the game or retry. Another thing would be the music that can get a bit repetitive over time. But let's be honest, the game is already solid as it is.
Also, found the game to be best played with my graphic tablet rather than mouse, felt way more natural 'drawing' lines with a pen than dragging around with the mouse (which is the best option there is for pc without specific peripherals anyway)
Very pretty game. If you guys want to keep developing it, not sure if this was said before, but I think having someone narrating the text would add to the game. It was kinda hard paying attention to the tumbleweed and text at the same time. Also, there is a couple of times where I think having a different way to blow the wind to make the tumbleweed jump or push it hard to gain momentum when going on the higher platforms would of help. I think the game is really good for a jam game, and I really like the fact that you guys had some kind of story it really fits with the overall game. Well done guys!
It's not a game it's an experience. Amazing. I wished on the parts with the laser there was more to it than just going straight as fast as possible. 5 star mood, audio, and graphics in my opinion.
We streamed your game with Danae: [link to Twitch VOD](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/598538752?t=02h39m11s) (approximate timestamp)
Very polished! The poetry was perhaps a bit lost on us during the stream. It is not often that I see a gamejam game made in Unreal actually make use of the engine graphically (rather than just dropping simple assets into the pretty, default shaders). In terms of gameplay, there are some places you can almost get stuck, and I think sometimes I wanted the camera to move a bit differently than it did, especially when I happened to go behind a building. The overall product feels quite complete though!
Did you really create the graphics on your own?
@remus-rain hi ! Yes every assets were made during the game jam thanks to our 2 great artists. I let you see the Team section in our description, and the Behind the scenes video we made.
I really like the game and the graphics looks like a AAA game. I just don't like the fact that the fps is locked at 60 FPS while my PC can do better. But for 72 hours thats a lot of stuff. Nice job :D
Just WOW. I expected this to be good, but not THAT good. Everything fits together so nicely. Art, story, gameplay, music, and sounds. So emotional. What an experience. Please continue developing this game, it has so much potential. One of the best that I played in this jam. 5 stars in everything.
Best graphics ever! Great mood also. Little laggy on my old computer (: Great job!
Awesome game! It was a bit short with only one level, but it was a very highly polished level.
The movement felt a little off at first. It looks like the direction of the wind is determined by the mouse position on the ground when it's pressed to where it is when it's released. Before I noticed this, it felt like the wind often wasn't moving in the direction that I intuitively felt I was dragging the mouse. It would also not do anything at all if I released the mouse when the cursor was pointing at the sky, which I was doing a lot when I was frantically dragging and releasing the mouse as fast as it would let me. But once I understood how the mechanic worked it was really satisfying to play.
Really nice game and great rendering. This looks beautiful, especially for a game jam. And it plays nice too. Good job =]
Echoing what others have said about the visuals, they're amazing and you really knocked it out of the park in that department. The only part I had issue with the gameplay was the first ramp, travelling up it I wasn't able to summon the wind and it took a few tries to get over. The visual cues for the wind, and having other things that it interacted with beyond the tumbleweed was excellent, it really sold the idea that you were the wind, and not just controlling the tumbleweed with an unconventional controls. Amazing job.
Puuuuuurty! Amazing work, especially given the time limits. Well done!
Holy cow this game is awesome, you guys did such a good job, I honestly hope you win!! best of luck
Very impressive art, and the quotes displayed during the game were great! very fun
Impressive, the graphic is briliant, everything are just so nice, the control part is a little bit of hard, you need to test it for several time.music is really west-style combined with cyber vibe.amazing job!
It's very impresssive !
The 3d is beautiful, the music create a perfect atmosphere. It's poetic but also hypnotic, you can't stop playing at this game until the end. The gameplay is simple but genious, it can be a commercial game. There just missing a button or menu to get back to last checkpoint, useful if you get stuck.
**Spoiler alert !** The end is too sad
Amazing !
The art is really impressive. Atmosphere is awesome, its really a well polished game. I really enjoyed playing this game, and discovering the amazing graphics. Great job!
That looks like a masterpiece cool tecnhical demo to test modern GPUs and computers but at the same time is complete visual story! Game has cool logical challenges (physics based but still!). Really great CG art and post effects. 2222.jpg
I want this game on my mobile Android phone. Do you guys have plans to evolve this idea, get some good publisher and make mobile game best seller? Wish you all the luck if you do! :four_leaf_clover: :four_leaf_clover: :four_leaf_clover:
@microchasm @albuquerque @cameron-dunlap @room606 @lairinlair @yxmx-rsx @fatpenguin and every person who asked for this game to come out.
We deeply agree with you, making Tumbleweed a really polished game would be awesome but it would require a huge work to make a true enjoyable experience of 2h from this little roll a ball game. The idea is quite interesting but the whole team is already working on developing other games. I'll surely ping you again if we decide too haha. I guess that if the game wins the jam it would bring the idea up, but it seems complicated due to all of the excellent productions that were made during this quarantine game jam.
Wow, very gorgeous.
At some points where I had to go over narrow beams, I was worried the floaty wind controls (pun intended) would make it difficult but I seemed to get by without too many issues, so you did a really good job with the feeling of wind while still keeping the tumble weed easy to control. Overall a fun entry, well dome.
really atmospheric, kinda reminded me of Journey. the end made me chuckle :) loved it! close to the top this jam for me so far!
Kind relaxing atmosphere. I laughed at the end. Gorgeous graphics and level design for only a team of 6, well done guys !
Amazing worldbuilding, the graphics and sound are beautiful, a huge accomplishment, and it wouldn't surprise me if you were number 1 for graphics. The gameplay is a bit frustrating during the challenge where you have to travel across the first narrow metal beam. Once I passed that puzzle the rest was pretty easy. I loved that the wind interacted with various elements in the map, like the rock pillars and such. This could work as an introduction to a larger game where you play as the wind / nature intervening in a futuristic city ala the early 2000s game "Messiah" or something.
I'm not sure it's worth stating it at this point, but the visuals were top notch. I'm surprised you managed to produce these assets during the jam, and obviously you used the Unreal Engine to great effect with depth of field, light effects etc. The mix of western nature and sci-fi elements is a great idea, I love the turrets that are reminiscent of Zelda BotW's guardians. However, the controls were a bit frustrating: I felt like every other time I tried to blow wind it didn't work. I eventually assumed there was a cooldown but the game doesn't tell you there is. I think having a way to blow continuously would be great, though I understand it would make the game easier too... Still, great work!
Absolutely amazing entry. Sadly it lagged a lot on my PC and sometimes the gush of wind just wouldn't work. Graphics are really great and both the music and poetic lines helped to build the mood. It was also so unexpected and innovative.
A very relaxing game, and everything helped set that mood, the visuals, the gameplay, the audio and the poetic texts. Amazing entry and a lot of admiration for the fact that you managed to produce a game of this quality in 72 hours. Visually easily the best one I've seen so far!
Insane ! Just all we need in a game ! :) GG
I tried to play it but the screen just stays white and it locks up. :( after I hit play, the intro text pops up, fades out, and then nothing happens.
@irefit Oh I'm very sorry for you, are the first one to report this. Have you tried updating windows, your GPU driver, directX and VCRedist ? It might fix it. Anyway you can find some gameplay videos here * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pefqUPhBl8Q * https://youtu.be/kMauGC2rViE
When I found out that the theme of his game jam would be "Keep It Alive" I would have never thought one of the games I'd play would require keeping a tumbleweed alive. With that being said, this game was GORGEOUS! Amazing visuals and innovative gameplay! My only critique had to do with the messages written in the bottom-left corner throughout the game. I found it difficult to always read when the tumbleweed was always moving and I didn't want to try to stop the tumbleweed's advancement to read the message. It seemed a bit ironic to me.
The ending was hilarious, btw! Overall, amazing game, guys! :)
Ok, wow! Excelent game!
amazing just amazing! ^^
Wow, just wow indeed... Great atmosphere, amazing art, it is poetry, visual and literal. Almost hard to believe something like this can be done is such short time, specially the cutscene at the end. By the way, why would any driver honk to a tumbleweed? ;) 5/5 stars for me, even though and it made me feel an complete inate amateur after watching a AAA indie game like this made in 72h... :P
Amazing mood. The musics, the sounds, everything was just right! Had a lot of fun playing through it. And funny ending! While the experience is short, the amount of world building is insane. Really well done!
Impossible graphics, just wow. Thanks for the game :)
So so, so beautiful. Sound design is gorgeous too. And so simple to onboard. I gave you 5 stars for everything, this is simply amazing !
A pretty lovely game. The controls were a bit difficult because you cannot control the wind power but anyway I love it. 5/5 !
Good game! Graphics is very awesome, it looks very nice! Controls is a little hard for me but overall game is super!
This is incredible! The game looks absolutely breathtaking, it sounds great, has good writing and even the gameplay is pretty awesome. I very much enjoyed sinking into this world for the games duration and I want to see more :)
This looks amazing, but unfortunately, my PC is too old to play it ( it's asking me to install Direct X )
Is a web port something you're planning to do? This looks amazing, so am guessing you'd have to cut back some of the fx?
very impressive entry. gorgeous visual and stunning audio. The level of polish is absolutly amazing. I had a very small issue : one of the turret did not have a laser pointer before it shoot(I believe it is the 3rd one)
This was absolutely excellent. The graphics are stunning, I mean come on, how is it even possible to achieve such realism in 72h? :) Gameplay is super cool, too; controlling wind is a great idea. The idea could definitely be expanded (the gameplay could work great on mobile--although these heavy graphics might not be easy to take to mobile). Great audio as well. Really impressive, you deserve to win! :D
No Mac or web port sadly :( but really really SHINY and pretty. Did I mention it really looks very very nice?
The visual fidelity of this game is definitely amazing. The environment, props, textures, shaders and lighting are brilliant! I still played through it even though my mobile gpu was screaming under the load. It was a bit hard to control, but every obstacle made sense. I enjoyed the ending.
Good job! Definitely AAA game studio quality!
The gameplay is very simple, yet effective. I wish there were more different _puzzles_, but knowing how much time that takes, it's reasonable. You still managed to put quite a lot there, even for a team of 4.
Very well done. keep up the good work.
Nice. This is going to blow some people's minds :)
I think one of the things that I feel could maybe be improved (?) is the integration of the "narrative" poetry into the game. I think what you've got written there serves as a nice accompaniment to the game, and the poetry is pleasant to read without being too dense. However, I found that it was difficult to pay attention to the words while also looking about the 3D world and watching out for interesting sights and obstacles. In other words, it felt like these two elements were fighting each other for attention -- if I truly gave focus to the poetry, I was sure to miss all of the work you put into the environments, and vice-versa. The only way to enjoy both would be to stop moving altogether whenever a new line appears on the screen, which obviously throws off the whole rhythm and flow of the game.
This may be a controversial opinion, but I'm wondering if it would work better if you did a voiceover of the narrative (in addition to, or maybe instead of, providing the text on-screen). I feel like having a voiceover would allow you to evoke the same sort of imagery and mental feel that the current narrative does, but without forcing the player to be distracted from the visual sights of the rest of the game. It also feels like it might fit will with the nonobtrusive music style.
Just my two cents!
this is a very moody game. I enjoyed the feel and the environment. you did great with camera effects and sounds.
but to be honest I didn't find a lot of "game" here. most of the time I was just blowing wind in one direction and watching the tumbleweed go through that great environment.
maybe its meant to be just calm game to enjoy the visuals. but I didn't find the shooting part is applicable if so. it didn't make a lot of sense to me anyway.
to conclude I think this would be an epic game if had better level design or more challenge maybe puzzles, something to keep the player other than visuals.
really fantastic game. the graphics, the gameplay, the atmosphere is excellent. the graphics is almost better than in our game.
The atmosphere Is excellent, very very very Nice Job!!!
The atmosphere is very good! Keep up the good work!
Really impressive work there! Well done guys!
Beautiful music, sounds, visuals - environment, objects, materials, lighting, effects..., well-written poetic narrative, satisfying gameplay, clever wind-based puzzle/challenge mechanics - everything is polished and works well together to create a breathtaking experience.
Lagged pretty badly on my weak old GPU, but was so hooked I went and watched a full gameplay video on youtube.
Very aesthetic! would love to see to some updates with more depth
Pre-emptive congratz to the winners of this jam :P
And even if, by any chance, you don't win... still, be proud that you made this masterpiece :)
