LD46 — Keep it alive

Back Four Seconds by madalaski 2020-04-25T23:52:36Z

Really unique game here! I found it really entertaining and laughed at all of the things that would get Martin killed throughout the game. I hope that doesn't make me a bad person lol. Martin's past self had weird movement bugs, like where he would cut through walls. Other than that, the game was awesome! :)

Recursion by Finn Truman 2020-04-27T00:54:55Z

I really enjoyed this game! The art was pretty consistent throughout, the controllers were pretty smooth, the ending was complete, and the level layout was on-point. My only critique was the sound of the robot. Not B4, but the other one. It was hard to understand what he was saying.

But other than that, the game was really fun! :) Thanks for sharing your game!

Feeding Rush! by Codey 2020-04-27T02:06:30Z

This game made absolutely no sense, but I loved it because of that! :D Gameplay was addicting and the art was cute. I killed my dog, by shooting a black bird and headbutting the spiky egg towards my dog.

10/10 would kill my dog with a spiky egg again.

Pretty fun game! The game was pretty difficult, so the real heroes of this story were the checkpoints haha. It was an interesting decision to make a game mechanic regarding you legitimately taking shots for your ally. I feel like it was pretty reflective of a mother "taking a bullet" for her child. Overall, I enjoyed the game! Thanks for sharing! :)

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-23T15:27:51Z

I played this game an unhealthy amount of times to finally beat haha. I think the game is a little too much RNG, as I found myself dying a lot while making, what I believe, to be the best possible decisions you could make in the moment. But this definitely holds A LOT of potential! I enjoyed the story and a couple of weird concepts like spamming to keep searching through the mist or zoning out at the guard giving you a lesson on paying the toll. I never really liked games like these before, but I really enjoyed this one!

I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but this is how I finally won the game: James, the Historian. I got 1 relic and James left me with 1000g. With that, I rushed on over to the Grand Wizard to rent the rest of the materials for 800g.

Don't fall behind by Dinorex 2020-04-27T01:58:19Z

Pretty fun game :) My only critique is not having any idea, whatsoever, where I could find the objective. I felt sort of lost, but assumed the objective would be on the other side of the map, which helped. Other than this though, game was fun! Great graphics, as well!

You are on the wrong path! by KptnHolz 2020-04-25T16:16:34Z

I really liked the concept of the game, but struggled to understand how to play it. The layout of the level is amazing though! And although I didn't really come to understand the way the game is played, I think I'll be coming back to it later to try my hands on it again. Unique idea! :)

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-27T01:33:07Z

I've played quite a fair amount of game entries for Ludum Dare 46, but this is the first game I rated an overall score of a perfect 5... a game about saving a fish in a completely nonsensical way... Lord help me.

Nonetheless, the game was funny, it was challenging for someone with terrible memory like mine, it was simple to understand, and I loved the incredibly odd animations. My only critique is that clicking the fish on his "upper body" would still be considered his head, which made me a sad fish, sometimes D: But other than that, the game was awesome!

Save Bob by Boaz 2020-04-27T00:25:20Z

Good job on your first game jam! The only critiques I have with the game are that the instructions on how to use the upgraded items weren't clear and shooting the birds were sometimes glitchy as some of them wouldn't die, no matter how many bullets flew into their faces.

Other than that, I had fun playing it! I'm sorry to say that Bob died though, so I very much disappointed you :(

Tumbleweed by Brenan 2020-04-27T01:16:40Z

When I found out that the theme of his game jam would be "Keep It Alive" I would have never thought one of the games I'd play would require keeping a tumbleweed alive. With that being said, this game was GORGEOUS! Amazing visuals and innovative gameplay! My only critique had to do with the messages written in the bottom-left corner throughout the game. I found it difficult to always read when the tumbleweed was always moving and I didn't want to try to stop the tumbleweed's advancement to read the message. It seemed a bit ironic to me.

The ending was hilarious, btw! Overall, amazing game, guys! :)

Good Boy Wanwan by PecheDodue 2020-04-25T15:18:09Z

This game was hilarious! If anyone playing this game hasn't had granny get hit by a car, I highly recommend doing this once. You will not be disappointed.

As for the rest of the game, I agree with a lot of the above comments. I think the biggest issues were in the physics and walking gameplay. It was difficult getting into the temple. It was fun getting granny across the street in one piece, but the rest of the walk wasn't as fun. Nonetheless, the story being told between gameplay sequences was funny and kept me interested in making it through to the end.

What you guys have created is amazing for work over one weekend. I tip my hat to you guys. Very well done! :D

Keep Them Alive by Prototype Jon 2020-04-26T01:00:35Z

@jishin I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, but thank you for opening up about it with us. It's weird that this has happened as we haven't heard this problem occur with anyone else. Were you playing with a mouse or using a trackpad? I ask because I've had issues playing games requiring a mouse, while using a trackpad and wonder if the same thing may be occurring over on your side.

A Walrus Dreams by Eric R 2020-04-27T02:16:06Z

So you're a walrus. And in your dream you are catching cats as they rain down from the heavens, along with rocks and fireballs. And if you manage to pass the first level, you need to catch them in space.

This is, easily, the weirdest game I've ever played in my life. I cannot make sense of a single thing in this game and I love it. I'll be telling my team about this game cuz I found it hilarious :D Really fun game! I loved the 4th wall break at the end.

Save That Baby by JordyForNow 2020-04-25T23:12:21Z

Short, simple, and hilarious game! Good job on your first LD! :)
