Awesome to see images from your process!

I made it to the end! It was really fun! I really liked the art for both the cutscenes and simple modelling. The sound effects with the voice lines were great and the background music is so good, I'm even listening to it now as I type this comment. The gameplay is unique, I don't think I've played anything similar but it works really well. And of course the humour brings it together nicely too.

One thing though is that the controls felt awkward to use. I don't think right shift works for running but please correct me if I'm wrong! The camera was also really fast but that might just be my mouse settings.

Amazing work!

What a crazy idea ! I love it !

nablaz 2020-04-21 12:18

Nice little game! Overall, the gameplay becomes a bit repetitive after a while (probably has to be expected in such a short time), but the cutscenes are really funny and more than make up for that. Also, loved the art style and sounds!

csomega 2020-04-21 12:21

I really like that you guys have cinematics, it's a good game, and a nice ide ;)

scott-steffes 2020-04-21 13:00

The mix of 2D and 3D was cool. Having little story parts between the gameplay made me want to keep playing to get the rest of the story. The core gameplay was a bit monotonous. Lots of time spent just walking through the city. The physics on granny were neat.

wetbox 2020-04-21 13:03

Good art in between gameplay.

caladrius 2020-04-21 13:07

Genuinely love this! Me and my flatmate were laughing throughout

yoan-allibert 2020-04-21 13:42

Well that was funny! Genuinely enjoyed pulling poor Granny around. Controls were broken for me though on an english keyboard, everything seemed on the wrong key. Good job on the art, impressive overall : )

madebychaz 2020-04-21 14:05

The first thing that caught my eye was the colours and artwork; really pleasing to look at! I also enjoyed the music loop. The whole thing gave me some slice-of-life animé vibes.

The controls definitely could've been mapped better; ZQSD honestly makes no sense to me and doesn't emulate the alternative (arrow keys). So when electing to use the arrow keys, as a right handed person, this meant I had to cross my arm across the computer to control the camera with the mouse. So that is definitely the main gripe with the package.

I did find a small bug; if you open up the controls panel from the menu and press esc, the game unpauses and the control screen remains visible.

I was impressed with the world that you managed to build given the deadline - I couldn't quite bare to follow the navigational arrow with the not-ideal control scheme (is it because you're a dog?) and it appeared to be point upwards to my objective. I wasn't sure how to go up, though.

All in all I think you done really well to build the world and give it atmosphere with minimal cues; colour, music and general feel is light hearted (apart from the aggression showed by WanWan to blind granny!) and whilst my feedback edges on the critical side, there is without a doubt the core of something very charming here. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your entry!

framboisedodue 2020-04-21 14:31

@madebychaz Thanks a lot for your complete feedback! About controls, we're a french/belgian team so our keyboards are azerty ones, it made more sense to us and we didn't think about it for other keyboards, sorry ! Thanks for reporting the bug too !

Great setting and nice concept. The menu was well made and the art is really good. I had trouble getting to the temple because of the terrain. The dog could not go over small lumps. Maybe if the dog got the ability to jump after the park that would spice some things up a bit. Great entry!

bongooo 2020-04-22 07:05

Just played! very nice! Probably I will tweet about this in the next day on this page https://twitter.com/Free_IndieGames !

haibo 2020-04-22 08:26

@bongooo Ty for playing our game! It's really very nice of you. It would really make us happy if we see our games on this twitter :)

adriankrawczyk 2020-04-22 09:12

funny concept

mirsakka 2020-04-22 09:23

Hahaha I caused terrible accident there with cars and leash...! Great drawings and other visuals!

neontropics 2020-04-22 09:35

This looks really cool! I'm sadly getting "The application “BuildGBWMac” can’t be opened." on MacOS Catalina (10.15.4) even after Allowing apps from Anywhere to play - could be my personal setup though.

feverdream-tim 2020-04-22 09:57

I had a lot of fun playing this game and killing grandma. The 2d art is great, and the music is very nice. I don't know if it was intentional but grandma shaking around was a lot of fun too.

haibo 2020-04-22 10:41

@neontropics we are really sorry for the mac version. We put it without trying it because we are all on windows ... and for those who are on Linux the game should work with 2 or 3 commands lines but you should know it better than me

dedjo0 2020-04-22 12:07

What a crazzy idea haha ! I really like the 2D art ! The camera is really fast, but good work :)

romarogov 2020-04-22 14:47

Haha, game is huper fun! Physics is a bit weird, but I like it! Great work :)

rkhadder 2020-04-22 20:09

Super rich world Cute graphics Input was a little weird Loved the story Awesome game!

robowarrior1982 2020-04-23 09:52

Beautifull graphics, a lot of fun and humour, amazing idea.I appreciate the introduction cartoon ! There a few graphics bugs and camera is strange but this is hilarious ! Good job !

charles-fernandez 2020-04-25 15:18

This game was hilarious! If anyone playing this game hasn't had granny get hit by a car, I highly recommend doing this once. You will not be disappointed.

As for the rest of the game, I agree with a lot of the above comments. I think the biggest issues were in the physics and walking gameplay. It was difficult getting into the temple. It was fun getting granny across the street in one piece, but the rest of the walk wasn't as fun. Nonetheless, the story being told between gameplay sequences was funny and kept me interested in making it through to the end.

What you guys have created is amazing for work over one weekend. I tip my hat to you guys. Very well done! :D

ggrusha 2020-04-27 13:25

ggyttyt.png fff.pngScreenshot_1.pngScreenshot_2.png This one is incredible!

I have screwed up several times. My characters were hit by a car) Then several times we were unable to walk past a tree in the park. Grandma gets stuck between the trees and the dog runs between them)

The beginning of the game, the scenes between levels and the 2D art bomb!

in love with this dog.

Thank you for your hard work!

p/s/ You can add a timer to the game to see how long each level goes)))

sugarsores 2020-04-30 23:06

Wanwan!!! Very cute, I loved the art and the jank ass rope tied to wan wan lmao <3 I'd love to drag our sweet old grandma through some physics objects like trash cans, fruit stands, etc. lol. Great work!

absoluteds 2020-05-02 13:02

I love the 2D arts. Original idea !

ale 2020-05-09 15:09

I almost died laughing when poor old granny got hit by a car at full speed. This is an awesome submission in every category, great job!!

The granny physics could use some improvements. I managed to get pretty far, dodging traffic and climbing over curbs with no problem, but down a long stretch of flat ground she just randomly decided to flip over and die. That was kind of disappointing, and I lost my motivation to try again. Maybe checkpoints could make those situations less of an issue?
