A really nice game, which could have been a bit easier at the beginning but which I really enjoyed playing ! The concept is simple yet fun. It would have been great to have some animation on the finger when it clicks on a bug (nothing bloody, just the movement), it would make it more "alive". But, all in all, a nice experience !
for an 8hour game, not bad at all ! I felt that the story should have been more coherent but it already gives a sense of something freaky happening
Nice game, really puts a smile on my face ! Communism shall never die ;). I love the pixel art, congratulations !
The DA is a strong point for this game - I really felt like I was in an Acient Greece fresco, and every detail (trees, the waves from the sea) were simply perfect. Good, excellent job on that ! As for the mecanics of the game, movement could be more precise (especially when you want to jump on a small pillar between two lakes), but it does not prevent you from having a nice experience ! Thanks for that nice game !
Awesome and captivating game. Reminds me in some way to Baba is You, which is a big compliment ! Two possible improvement : 1/ I really needed five minutes to understand how to switch tiles, since I wanted to put them between each other and not on one another, maybe a shown example at the beginning could have helped 2/ the music could have been more subtle. Once again, the example of Baba is You is excellent in terms of usage of minimalist music to help you concentrate on the puzzles. But my overall feeling is : OUTSTANDING !
Animations, colors, humour... everything is so well callibrated ! The game is much fun, congratulations for that !
Very pleasant game ! I especially appreciated the tone, humour and score, which create a wonderful atmosphere for the experience. The DA and colors are perfect. Nice game in such a short time ! Congratulations !
Excellent idea, perfectly in the theme ! The physics of it is a bit difficult to grasp sometimes but it's fun and has some great ideas ! Congrats !
What a strange experience, yet fascinating with the help of the nice DA and nice cello score. The idea is very original, nice entry in the Ludum Dare !
This is the best game I played so far. The storytelling ideas are superb, the graphics are perfect, and you just want to wander more in these memories... Having done this in Compo? Congratulations !
Awesome game (with a bit of unclarity on some instructions, I agree with the previous comment), but defenetely fun... and the art is gorgeous ! Nice !
I loved the atmposhere, which reminds me of David Lynch's dark universes. The music (Twin Peaks' style, Lynch again) is perfect to match with the art style. I was sometimes troubled not to be able to move in one direction or another, for it was not clear there was a wall stopping me, maybe having bigger lines would have helped. But, all in all, a good experience ! Thanks !
COngratulations @ausstein . The precedent record was hold by @doot himself, so you've just beaten one of the game's fathers ;)
Hi everyone, Having such great reviews and notes, for our first Ludum Dare is a dream come true. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks to everyone who played, thanks also for all your comments that helped us continue our work on Flippy !
We submitted the Android verison of the game on Google Play Store, and it is now directly downloadable here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Doot.FlippyFish
If you happen to download it, we would really appreciate any note and comment on the Store, it would be really helpful for the game to get an better rank in google's research engine :).
Once again (I'm repeating myself), thank you all for your support ! We loved taking part in the competition !
So so, so beautiful. Sound design is gorgeous too. And so simple to onboard. I gave you 5 stars for everything, this is simply amazing !
the DA is awesome, the sound design as well and I love point'n click, so I loved the game. I really think that a hint system could be interesting, and it could be fun to have at least some talking interactions with the alien and creature. But, all in all, a very nice experience. Congrats !
Nice little game, which I could imagine playing on my phone. Very well coded, congrats !
Cute and fun ! Congrats !
Nice game, easy to understand and to play ! My only recommendation would we that the controls adapt to the screen and not to the car, because I always got confuest when turning right while pushing the left button, because I'm heading down. All in all, nice work !
The concept is easy to catch and you have a very good time playing it. Audio and graphics are perfect and you really get stuck in those loops, fearing that a car will pop up unexpectedly ! Great entry ! Congrats !
Wonderful game ! The art is minimalist (which is a compliment) and combined with the music (perfect balance, stressful enough to enter "the flow", yet atmospheric enough so that you stay in it), it makes you want to try again and again the game. In some way, it reminds me of some levels of Sayonara Wild Heart. Congratz !
@marcusnystrand, this is the most wonderful compliment you could make to the team, thanks so much ! We never dreamt of giving inspiration to other game developers ! \^0^/
Nice and clever game, a witty illustration of the "stuck in the loop" idea, I like it. The humour of the robot creates the atmoshpere, the puzzles are well designed (I really have a lot of respect for people designing puzzle, it takes so long). So good job. My only recommendation : maybe make the levels shorter. In level 2 for example, doing 5 time the task doesn't bring much gratification than having figured it out once. But all in all, a good game ! congrats !
I love the concept, loved playing it and appreciated the polish ! Congratulations ! My only concern (but it's a tough one to work around) is that, rapidly, I just lose interest in the first time I play the first part of the level, because I know I'm going to lose when the second part of the level unravels. Maybe having a "flash" (even just 1s) of the second part of the level before beginning would make that first set of moves more attractive. But all in all, a strong game, bravo !
I loved the atmoshpere, the music really brings you into the game. I had some troubles understanding the concept at first (you can move from one point to another if and only if there exist, in one orientation possible, a visible link between them, am I right ?), but the simplicity of playing, the absence of stress and the quality of visual/audio ambiance made me want to find out. And I did, and and had a lot fun aftewards ! Thanks for the experience !
I did not manage to launch the game unfortunately... and was very sorry for that, since I love Rimbaud :)
Hi @wouter52, thanks for the compliments, we're really glad you enjoyed the game ! As for selkö, ***spoiler alert about the story*** it refers to the myth of the selkie, coming from the Nordic mythology. Those are women than can turn to seals.***end of spoilers*** It is less known than mermaid, but as much fascinating :). I recommend the very good cartoon "The Song of the sea" if you want to learn more about them !
