Very solid puzzle game with great art, and an interesting take on the theme. I did run into a bug though: after you deconstruct an arrow or wall tile, you can't place another on the same square.

teto 2020-10-06 22:51

@oliver-richmeier Thanks for playing! We didn't get time to fully play test until after submission so we're fixing that bug now we're done with work for the day. Hopefully we can release the fixed version tonight and you can play the whole game properly!

pedrohph 2020-10-07 01:48

Fun game! Deconstruct the wrong items was a great idea! But there is a lot of text! After the half of the first phase I just skipped the texts...

teto 2020-10-07 07:46

@pedrohph Thanks for the feedback! Did you manage to understand the mechanics fine without the text? I think I added too much thinking that everything needed explaining. We'll probably add a "Skip Text" button if it's not needed then.

judgezedd 2020-10-07 14:26

Very clever indeed. Really neat little mechanical playground, which took some getting used to, but once I'd mastered it, I had a great time.

jelle-vermandere 2020-10-07 14:27

nice concept! I like the puzzle mechanics. Here are something I noticed when playing: I feel like the fact that you need to submit the same object more than once is a bit redundant since once you set up your loop correctly, there is nothing that would change the fact that it will work, so completing one iteration should be enough. But of course this is just a small thing, overal, I liked the game, great job!

monninen 2020-10-07 14:31

Fun concept with great visuals! Good work!

teto 2020-10-07 14:38

@judgezedd Thanks! Glad you had a good time!

@jelle-vermandere Thanks for the feedback! The only reason you have to get quite a few robots for example, is because when we originally set it to only need to make 1 arrow plate to move on, you could go to the next level from the beginning since you start the level with that many already and we didn't get time to make the button smarter so we just had to up the requirements to move on. Glad you liked thhe game overall though and, if we do a post-jam version, this will definitely be something we look at to reduce the sitting around!

@monninen Thanks so much!

thekingbarry 2020-10-07 14:44

Nice and clever game, a witty illustration of the "stuck in the loop" idea, I like it. The humour of the robot creates the atmoshpere, the puzzles are well designed (I really have a lot of respect for people designing puzzle, it takes so long). So good job. My only recommendation : maybe make the levels shorter. In level 2 for example, doing 5 time the task doesn't bring much gratification than having figured it out once. But all in all, a good game ! congrats !

aquanim 2020-10-07 14:47

Fun puzzle game. Arthur's little eyes are cute :)

(I wonder if it's possible to cheese some of the levels by placing and picking up robots over and over rather than making a loop to take them back to the start...)

thecreator 2020-10-07 14:58

Such a fun puzzle game, I think you absolutely nailed the theme

also am I doing it right? :joy:

teto 2020-10-07 15:01

@thekingbarry Thank you for the feedback! It did take a long time to create the puzzles haha. It was difficult enough for me to figure out ways to do things even though I knew the mechanics! I agree with you about the task repition so that's definitely something we'll tweak for a post-jam version if we do one!

@aquanim I liked his eyes too! His eyes created his characted mainly because I wanted to use the angry eyes! And shhhhh... Don't tell the people that it's possible to solve without actually solving haha!

teto 2020-10-07 15:03

@thecreator Oh my god I love this :laughing: Glad you had fun playing around with it!

vivien-fargette 2020-10-07 15:15

Nice puzzle game with very solid level design.

As said above, there is too much text: it is nice to have some to explain the mechanics or introduce a new block but explaining every time the situation, the goal, what you are building... is a bit too much. I also agree on the "one item to complete level" from Jelle: making more is just waiting for your loop to repeat while doing nothing and it can be quite boring (the third level is my main example of that: you have to wait a very long time, I almost thought the game was bugged due to the time I had to wait before it completed the level). Finally, a background music and some sound effect would have been a nice touch to give the feeling of a completed game.

Overall, these critics are more on the detail side as it is a pretty solid entry: level design and mechanics are solid, graphics are cool and I liked some of the jokes of the robot

teto 2020-10-07 15:21

@vivien-fargette Thanks for the feedback and we'll definitely fix those things in a post-jam version! Glad you enjoyed it overall!

ellladee 2020-10-07 16:10

I like humor and art, so good :)

dark-prince-zen 2020-10-07 16:15

Absolutely enjoyed this. Very polished game but do agree that there is a lot of text to get through, though I did enjoy the dialogue. The fact you two put out so much content is incredible. Amazing job. Can't wait to see this out in the wild!

teto 2020-10-07 16:21

@ellladee Thank you so much!

@dark-prince-zen Glad to hear you enjoyed the dialogue although there was a lot of it! There's still so much content we made that we couldn't put in the gameplay because we ran out of time with the UI. Hopefully we will be able to put time aside to work on it more and we are thinking to release it on the play store just to have an experience of releasing something :)

dark-prince-zen 2020-10-07 16:45

@teto Haha that is the dream! Can tell a lot of passion went into this so if you do release it, best of luck! I'll be ready to grab a copy!

zelif 2020-10-07 17:19

Love these types of games, kept me busy for quite a long time!

Would love an objectives display for how much there is left to make of the required parts. Great game, even without sound I was enjoying myself. Audio would have topped this off nicely, hope to see this after you put more time post jam.

arron-fowler 2020-10-07 18:42

Great game. Sound the only thing I missed. I would say it was a bit too wordy for me, but its a great game.

teto 2020-10-07 20:44

@zelif Good to hear you enjoyed playing! That's actually something we hadn't thought of adding but would definitely be helpful so thank you for the feedback!

@arron-fowler Thank you! Unfortunately ran out of time for sound but we'll definitely add it for post-jam version!

ditam 2020-10-08 07:42

The build-up in difficulty/complexity along with the detailed (and consistently in-character!) messaging show that this has seen more polishing than what most jam games do, and it serves it well. Congrats!

It would be great if the tutorial waited for the user to follow the instructions, many times I thought I needed to do something, only to accidentally cycle through messages before having a chance to read them.

teto 2020-10-08 13:16

@ditam Thank you so much for the compliments! I had intended for that to be the case especially for the first level so you can do things as the tutorial goes but we didn't get time to sort it out. Will definitely try for the post-jam version though!

curly 2020-10-08 13:20

Many players fit and like to stick to such games, good concept, the idea is implemented perfectly!

teto 2020-10-08 13:26

@curly Thank you very much!

willypa 2020-10-08 13:58

This was an awesome game. Spent nearly 30 minutes on the final level. Followed the theme perfectly!

olafstromberg 2020-10-08 14:09

Nice game with good humour. I got stuck on the second level so don't know if there was a bug or if I am just an idiot. Great effort!

teto 2020-10-08 18:56

@willypa So great to hear you made it throught the whole thing and actually spent the time playing and enjoying it! Out of curiosity, did you manage to produce a robot in the final level because that would have been impressive! We'll probably make it so it produces 5 tiles at a time or something similar in future so you don't have to spend so long waiting to make arrow tiles!

@olafstromberg Thank you! It should be solvable with the 4 tiles and 2 bots you're given so let us know if there was another issue with that level and we can try to fix it!

willypa 2020-10-09 17:48

@teto No I actually didn't. But if you make it quicker to make arrow tiles I will try again :)

johnnyv 2020-10-10 07:01

Thanks! Fun game!

flying-dog-fish 2020-10-12 18:58

This is a really nice puzzle game with some nice graphics. Some sounds and background music would make it even better. Unfortunately it suffers from acute excess of text. The actual instructions get lost in the story and the jokes so people will skip them either intentionally or by accident.

I also got stuck on level 2 for a long time trying to figure out how to make the robots even start moving, yet alone do something useful. All that text never mentions that you have to put the robots on the arrows to make them go until somewhere on level 3.

teto 2020-10-14 13:20

@johnnyv Thank you!

@flying-dog-fish Ahh I didn't realise it doesn't mention until level 3! Will definitely fix that for the future thank you! Apologies for the excess of text... Really was just put in quite last minute so didn't get a chance to refine and make it more concise and, as I said before, we had intended to have it so you could do things at the same time and split it through the level so it wouldn't have been one huge chunk but unfortunately,didn't get time.

joey-vrij 2020-10-14 19:38

Very enjoyable game! Your artstyle kind of makes me think of my own, which is funny to see. I love the countermovement in the worker robots animations, those small details make it so much more enjoyable and fun to look at. Very well done!

demuss 2020-10-15 13:35

Visual are really enjoyable, Puzzles are nice. Main problem i had is tons of text which after few i started just skiping because i just wanted to play : P

teto 2020-10-15 23:22

@joey-vrij Thank you so much for the compliment!

@demuss Unfortunately we know it has farrrr too much text but glad you enjoyed the game enough to skip through it all to get to the gameplay haha! :P

j0ye 2020-10-16 09:27

Awesome puzzle game. Not only are the graphics and mechanics nice, the riddles are very difficult too. Really well-made in a short time.

tannimun 2020-10-16 09:30

This was a nice factorio-like puzzle game. I enjoy these types of games, well done! Also, a nice touch to add some narrative to the game. The simple animations added a lot to the feeling

balance686 2020-10-17 22:26

This game is great! Visuals are very polished including the UI. The in game tutorials are helpful and well constructed with humor tossed into the mix. Excellent level design. Besides sound, the only other thing I'd like would be for the level progress/goal to be visible on screen. Excellent submission it's very fun!

sli 2020-10-17 23:18

Great puzzle. I don't have a screenshot for you, but I fooled around pretty long at the last level. Sadly block tiles don't appear in the inventory when I create them. Do I miss something or U just didn't implement it. Any way great game, good job. I had so much fun

jenny-bourke 2020-10-17 23:34

Great puzzle, I'm not nearly smart enough for it though u.u

teto 2020-10-19 08:31

@j0ye Thank you so much for your compliments!

@tannimun Really glad to hear you enjoyed it!

@balance686 Thank you! We hadn't actually thought of that so that's definitely something we would want to add! As well as a levels menu.

@sli So great to hear you enjoyed it to play for so long! Unfortunately, with the UI for placing the various different things being so complicated and time consuming, there ended up being no function to be able to place them which I didn’t realise when u was doing the level design since Ciaran was doing the build menu at the same time. We left it because, honestly, we didn't think anyone would play that far! The initial idea was to be able to build everything including the little machines which is all there ready to be implemented, they jist can't be placed since we ran out of time which is really frustrating 😅 Anyway, thank you so much and I hope you play our post-jam version when we get some time to finish it!

@jenny-bourke Haha thank you!

zeonblue 2020-10-19 08:38

Hey, what a great puzzle game! I actually ended up playing this, then forgot it was an LD game, so just kept on playing for I don't know how long! One day I'll also make a game that does that to someone! Thanks for sharing this with me. My only complaint would be that it's too quiet, if you added some simple "factory sounds" in the background, I think it would already go a very long way. Other than that, super cute game! Well done!!

ddrkirbyisq 2020-10-19 10:33

How people manage to think up these systems and then put them into actual puzzle formats will forever be beyond me...

This was great! I really enjoyed the last level especially.

teto 2020-10-19 13:05

@zeonblue Wow that is the best compliment anyone could give! I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much that you lost track of time. Unfortunately we simply didn't get time for any sound but we'll definitely add it in for the post-jam version!

@ddrkirbyisq It started off as a much simpler idea but the different tiles just kind of came as we went along! I really struggled making the levels since I've never done anything like it before so it's great to hear they were good. Glad you had fun!

trexxak 2020-10-21 23:26

It's incredible how effective it is to simply give the robot another eyecolor to emphasize its mood :'D

Really appreciated the humour in this! The little bump the building bots do after encountering an obstacle also makes the game feel very polished for some reason!

Liked the "crafting" and building component to the puzzles especially!

teto 2020-10-22 10:57

@trexxak Thank you so much for the compliments!

midorimelody 2020-10-22 18:51

Very cool game. I love puzzles so this was just the game for me. Awesome job! I also love the robot that explains things and his eyes turning colors.

pedrocoden 2020-10-22 19:08

Nice game!

jonathanwang 2020-10-22 22:36

Really fun puzzle game! The concept is really cute and the puzzles were really fun to solve. The only gripe is that I wish the process of clicking and placing blocks were a little smoother. For some reason when I select deconstruct and try to pick up objects it can feel a bit finicky at points.

pawciu 2020-10-22 23:12

Really nice story, graphics and gameplay. Good job!

sakura-magika 2020-10-23 00:30

Very well done! The dialogue was well written, the puzzles were fun to solve, and had a good difficulty and complexity curve. I think its awesome how the robots build the very tiles that you solve the puzzle with!

Artie's eyes changing color and shape was a great touch!

teto 2020-10-23 09:49

@pedrocoden Thank you!

@jonathanwang Thanks for the feedback! We'll try and look into it and try and make it smoother!

@pawciu Thank you!

@sakura-magika Thank you so much! We did try to make it as self sustaining a loop as we could!

zaibakk 2020-10-25 15:15

Hi! The game was extremely good! The base concept is amazing! Puzzles works really well and was super cool! I also loved the humor! I played the last level for more than 1 hour, trying to figure out what is the solution. Anyway, I tried to produced the X tiles and get to the exit, but there weren't added to my pool... and without X tiles last level is nearly impossible. Also, sound would be a good addition. Anyway, very good job!

teto 2020-10-25 19:36

@zaibakk Thank you so much! It's so incredible to hear you spent that amount of time playing and enjoying our game! Unfortunately, we didn't get time to implement the X tiles as we ran out of time for th UI which was frustrating but we never imagined anyone would enjoy it enough to spend that amount of time to get to that point anyway! Thank you so much again for playing and I hope you play our post-jam version when we release it.

2020-10-30 12:00

thats really a masterpiece👌👌
