Game crashes on startup for me
Good level design and decent audio. The platforming was a little buggy at times, the FOV is a bit too low, and mouse sensitivity is *waay* too high.
The level design was good, the movement responsive, and the music had depth and created an eerie atmosphere. The graphics for the character and objects were very nice but the levels themselves were a bit plain looking. Overall I enjoyed it
The mechanics are all well implemented but not really utilized by the level design. The music was interestingly bizarre and helped add to the rather humorous aesthetic. The level itself is much too short.
Nice work! I loved the gimmick of unlocking movements in each level. It wasn't particularly difficult but the levels were fun to figure out, and the length is ideal for a LD game. The graphics and sound effects were adequate, but the music was too short. The theme eventually makes itself apparent, although it doesn't really manifest in the gameplay. Overall, interesting mechanic and decent level design.
Unique and well-implemented combat system that beautifully integrates the theme, as well as creative and diverse enemy design. One of the best entries I've played
Fun platformer, great music, and good use of the theme. I noticed pressing Z teleports you to the last level
Creative concept but not enough diversity in the functions of the different characters, I pretty much always played the same way. I liked the music and the atmosphere
Fun little game, kinda repetitive but it doesn't overstay its welcome, and has a funny mood. The audio is pretty nice, although it could have used a few more sound effects
It was a bit short but I enjoyed the strange atmosphere. The guard didn't always stop me though
Really good game, the controls took a little to get used to but I quickly got addicted. Clever take on the theme as well. Simple and well-executed.
The mechanics combine to essentially make a rhythm based rail shooter, which is interesting, but gameplay becomes repetitive quickly. It could use some more interesting enemies. The aesthetic is unique, music could be better though
Fun game and impressive graphics, and nice double take on the theme
Very good core gameplay, I love games like Factorio so I had a lot of fun with this. I was able to figure out how all the structures worked by looking at the title screen, but I think there should have been a little more in-game to explain it, even just giving them names would make their uses more apparent. The theme wasn't very prominent either, but on its own, the gameplay is quite satisfying. Really enjoyed this one!
Very nice work, I love how you incorporated the theme into the visual design of the game by making the screen a vertical loop. The levels are simple but polished, music is catchy, and the ending was a nice little surprise (although I'd like it more if it looped forever and made the screen effect trippier every playthough)
Very solid puzzle game with great art, and an interesting take on the theme. I did run into a bug though: after you deconstruct an arrow or wall tile, you can't place another on the same square.
Such an innovative and challenging idea, controls beautifully and great audio and visual design. Easily one of my favorites.
I liked the UI and enemy design of @daine0's version better, but the attack from @ukra174's was more satisfying. Soundtrack fits well with the gameplay
Could be fun but due to the performance it's essentially unplayable since you only provided the web version. Also not quite how a loop ship works, the force would be pulling toward the outside wall
Interesting concept and seems to have quite a bit to build, however the game is far too fast. The day-night cycle is very short and there's never really enough time to build anything before getting destroyed by The Swarm.
Fun game but @herman-chau is right, you could go on forever just pressing up and down. Starting the player with forward momentum would force them to use the other controls. Other than that, interesting concept and aesthetic, more fun than many other flappy bird clones out there
Simple but fun and fairly challenging, got 93. Good graphics and music
A simple shooter with light story elements that uses its repetition to turn the desert into a symbol of the player's choice. Some may be turned off by the simplicity of the mechanics but I feel it helps to serve an artistic purpose. I think the ambience should be a bit louder and fullscreen would be nice, for immersion and because the text is quite small
Decent platformer, I feel the movement should be tighter though, especially in the more difficult sections. All the art was very good, albeit stylistically inconsistent
Smooth platforming, incredible voice acting, and multiple endings
Very challenging, the driving feels very loose and can be unforgiving if you mess up, but I was able to beat it. Pretty nice music too, and the graphics aren't bad they but are a bit repetitive. Didn't see the theme though
Neat little logic puzzle with nice music. The unpredictable particle movement sometimes made things tricky, but otherwise enjoyable
Wow, this is quite an interesting deckbuilder! I may have to come back later and try to get to the end
Fun game. simple graphics, but the sound design and the physics make it immersive.
The music and sound design are excellent, as well as the art and the aesthetic in general. I love moving around bits of the unstable world to get through the levels. However, I had the same problem as @jose-bonilla which made it essentially unplayable not being see most of the map. I'd definitely revisit this one if there's a bugfix
@cogcomp Here is a screenshot of the main menu, as well as the taskbar preview which shows exactly how much is being cut off. Usually the character is dead before I can actually get them onscreen apep.png thumb.png
@cogcomp no problem at all, and seriously awesome game, played until it looped. quite slippery to control but the level design is great, especially level 7. love how there's multiple ways to get to the jars
Not a ton of content, but what's there feels good and is relatively polished. Good music and sound design, cohesive art style, and a fun way of implementing the theme.
Really fun and polished! Tough to control but satisfying when you get the hang of it
Fun platformer, traps are unfair obviously but the design is clear enough that they are easy to remember
Really good implementation of the theme, and great concept for a timing puzzle platformer. Some aspects need more polish but it's all doable with enough precision
Very nice art, some of the mechanics could use a bit more polish but it's an effective integration of the theme
This is great! Super clever to combine multiple mechanics into the secondary attack. The combat is very satisfying to master
Very nicely done. beautiful visual design, and i loved the inclusion of additional video settings and filters to play around with.orbitalShot_2021-10-06_07-15-03.png
Really fun and challenging platformer. The music was pretty good too, I think it should've played through each death, I'd usually finish a level just before the interesting bit starts
Really impressive amount of content here! Surprised how big the world was and how much you could interact with, as well as the leveling system. Only problem is that the combat is a bit buggy, but still manageable.
Fun and stressful management game with some interesting mechanics. It's like playing as a crew member in FTL, except the ship just falls apart on you. I also really dig the animated menu backgrounds
While the game lacks mechanics, the glitchy visuals and excellent sound design create an oppressive atmosphere about as effectively as any AAA horror game.
Interesting mechanics and aesthetic, effectively establishes the theme. However there needs to be a cap on enemy spawning, as it quickly becomes unplayable due to the framerate
Super cool concept, also totally the sort of thing that would be setting off people's antivirus lol. My inputs did eventually get laggy, but it's otherwise well executed
Really cool idea, and the controls are tight, feels satisfying to master. i'd play a full game of this
Really interesting concept! Replaying it, I love the variety in the effects of the ailments, how some of them change aesthetic elements and others actively affect gameplay. With a procedural element to the levels and more engaging enemy design, this could actually be quite a fun little coffee break roguelike. I also liked how much music there was and all the ambiance in the background
Really neat concept, however the jump was hard to control and landing on heads requires a lot of precision. With more polish, I could see some interesting levels being designed with these mechanics
Interesting theme. Game is simple but well balanced, and the audio sets the mood quite well
Very fun trying to control the ship, and I love the inclusion of a upgrade system between levels, as well as the items that appear during gameplay. Provides a good balance of risk and reward. Art is really nice too
Good game! I think there's a very good balance between the proactive and reactive elements. It would have been fairly easy for the rubble to unfairly interfere with the precision platforming, but it actually worked out quite well. I agree with others that the last two rooms should have been switched; the jump on the elevator requires more precise control of your jump height than anything else.
Fantastic art, and the world is pretty big! I love the dissonance between the relaxed atmosphere of the exploration and the terror of everyone in the town
It was fun figuring out what the ingredients were, but a little too difficult to get the right ones. Managed to maintain a 4.9 star rating despite missing nearly all of my orders
Cool idea. Short level but I love how the it gets trickier the more you mess up, and the feel of it is just right on a controller. Eventually did a zero unstableness run
I love the idea of the path you choose effecting later levels. but after my fourth delivery a skeleton spawned on top of me
The physics and art are quite nice, but as others have pointed out, it's much easier to spam than it is to actually try to build a bridge. Not that I'm complaining :)bridge.png
Very fun game, music and art are fantastic and the progression is well paced. as many have noted, only thing missing is a water bucket upgrade. Otherwise, one of my favorite entries so far
Fun little game, although death can be quite punishing. The music and visuals combined effectively, and while some others have noted that the sudden jump is jarring, I got used to it rather quickly and thought it actually gave the game a unique feel. I found the mouse sensitivity to be a little too low, which made some parts like the tower at the end a bit tricky, although the slowdown function helps to alleviate this. All in all, pretty good game
Really good take on the theme! The gameplay is quite good as well, the visual on the fire wasn't clear at first, but once I figured out the timing I could do it consistently. Other than that the graphics and the aesthetic of it was very good, music was nice, and the level design was just punishing enough.
Also wasted a stupid amount of time filling the cup with icecube.png
Great idea, great execution. I love that everyone can take a different path and experience different rooms with different abilities. It was sometimes hard to read where the platforms ended because of the 3d effect, but the movement was very responsive and allowed enough precision to alleviate this. Also 10/10 ending
The graphics are mesmerizing and learning to control the ship is super fun. i also love the concept and the text between each of the levels
Good base for an endless shooter, decent selection of upgrades and enemies. The shooting could have a bit more oomph and adjustable camera angle would be nice. but overall pretty fun
Fun shooter. The sfx for the gates being attacked could have been clearer, and aiming up and down was a bit wonky, possibly because the trajectory from the bullet seems to be calculated from the end of the sprite rather than the center of the screen. Nonetheless, the game was satisfying to play, and the boss was pretty cool as well
Really good idea for a bullet hell, having a positioning mechanic to manage is an interesting challenge. I felt the controls could allow for a bit more precision, maybe with a twin stick setup, but overall this is executed very well
It's fun, but it needs a few more mechanics to be meaningfully engaging. I really like the art and the lore between waves
Controls are tricky but satisfying to pilot, and nice job with the procedural generation. It can definitely be punishing for small mistakes but it's manageable. I didn't realize at first that there was a way of extending your time, but it is pretty well balanced. Might have been wiser to put that information on this page, a lot of people might miss it. Overall, good job, feels very good to play.escape.png
very nice work. fun to experiment with, and the sound design really sets the mood
Nice work! A survival game is pretty ambitious and it's impressive how much is here. I appreciated being able to explore and discover how mechanics work on my own. The fishing is also neat. While I was playing, I felt as if there needed to be more balance to the energy economy, like having some actions take less, or having a reliable way to get it back while awake. In retrospect though, if there was, it probably wouldn't be inevitable that you die, and there would have to be some other mechanic that shows up later to challenge to player. So in it's current state it basically accomplishes what it's supposed to. The graphics are really nice too and the music fits although it gets repetitive after a bit. Very well done
Really nice sprite work! Decent amount of levels, all pretty unique and satisfying to solve. Switching between block types is a bit clunky to do as fast as the game sometimes requires you to. Might've made more sense to use "select" to passively switch, so that "A" can instantly place/remove a block. A way to instantly restart would be nice as well, might be weird with the life system but it can get irritating having to sit and wait over a minute before you can try again. Overall, it's pretty goodscore.png
Weird and fun take on the theme. I LOVE the combat, so satisfying and methodical. Agree with @sirjupitron, would have loved having to take on multiple enemies
Pretty good game! Decent variety of towers, and enemies are well balanced. I liked the audio, definitely has a unique mood. The incremental upgrades for your food production are also quite nice, as well as for individual units. had good fun with this! We also tried our hand at a tower defense this jam
Pretty cool concept. It's fun to manage both of the characters, and their mechanics are implemented well, with the auto-attacking fighter and having to position the explosion of the spell. The audio also set the mood well.
Cool game. I like how the plants interact with each other, would definitely play interesting on a bigger map.
Really unique tower defense! The controls aren't very intuitive but mechanically everything comes together in an interesting way. I love how you used light, and how there are secrets to find on the map.
Pretty fun shooter, although I did also manage to kill the mothership before I was even able to warp. I like the upgrade system
Fun concept. The mechanics are interesting and have potential, but I feel the game fails to utilize them. The difficulty seems to come mostly from having a lower movement speed than the enemies, and it never really tests the player's ability to position themselves and engage with the healing/hurting mechanics efficiently
Simple concept but it works quite nicely. Graphics fit the game's mood. Good job!
Pretty fun platformer with nice graphics and responsive controls, and I do like the fast pace of it. However the camera zoom in combination with the game being 3d often make it really difficult to intuit where/when you're supposed to jump, especially with the projectiles, where it seems like you have to jump before the window is even visible. Overall nice work!
Fun base for a top down shooter, but needs a little bit more to be engaging. Even just one more enemy type would make it more interesting. Also health and medicine spawn way too frequently. But yeah, it's pretty fun
Really fun platformer! There was a bit of a delay to the controls for me, but the levels require more proactive play so it was still quite satisfying to learn the levels. The first one was definitely the hardest. The mood is also conveyed well through the audio design and visuals. Good work!
A limbo-like typing game?? One of the most original concepts I've seen this jam, and the execution is superb! The aesthetic is very well done, music and sound design are also great, very good atmosphere, not to mention the storytelling. I think the mechanic of keeping your eyes open is interesting, thought it was a nice touch that the game can be played with your fingers on the home row. It could use some technical polish but that's it really. Excellent work here!!
Pretty good atmosphere and well implemented crafting system. I couldn't actually find the monster though.
Really weird and creative, I like it! While not the most engaging, it's interesting to explore
Good job
This one's really cool. The controls are unique and interesting and the design is good but I think the game is sometimes too punishing. There should be hit points for some things. I get pitfalls killing the player, but it's super frustrating to die from lightly grazing a wall or a bump in the floor. Music and art are very nice, sets the mood well, and I love the comments from the robot as you play. Overall this is one of the more interesting games and takes on the theme I've seen
Another creeper world fan here. You absolutely nailed the aesthetic, I love the audio design. and while the UI wasn't the most intuitive, once I figured it out it definitely plays uniquely. Really nice work
Simple concept, good execution, engaging gameplay.
It's quite effective. Mechanics are simple to understand but also have depth, and you get many options to choose from
Strange game, quite an interesting take on the theme. Music is pretty good. Couldn't figure out how I was supposed to interact with the bin
Funny concept, but seems oddly chance based, unless there's some mechanic I'm missing. Most attempts, the heart runs out far before there's another one to get
Fun platformer, solid mechanics. I like the arrows because it means you can't stay too close to the top of the screen
Cool concept and good execution. Wish you were forced to engage with the rover's paths a bit more, felt like it was easy enough to avoid them and only get detected after sabotaging something. Nonetheless it's pretty fun. Good work!
Fun game, I liked how the music escalated up to the boss spawn, and how you got to pick what weapons to upgrade. reminiscent of vampire survivors and games of the like, could probably remain consistently engaging with more weapons and enemy patterns. nice work!
Pretty fun, although got really easy in the late game. Would have preferred a separate tutorial screen instead of having it during the game, there wasn't time to both read the text and place defenses
Well done! An engaging twist on Snake to also have to manage environmental hazards. My strategy was to time the explosion when I was near walls or corners. Distinguishing the sprite of the bombs we pickup would have been useful. Also would have been nice to have some basic sound effects telegraphing the explosion, although the design of the timer is actually good enough that it doesn't distract from the game to pay attention to it. Overall very nice work!
Pretty fun shooter, and the procedural generation is nice. There were sometimes lag spikes when enemies fired which would cause me to take damage. but overall this is a solid base
Really interesting mechanics but I think the game failed to fully utilize them. The inability to predict the distance bullets and ships will travel limited the potential of time-based strategizing, and I ended up just killing the easier ships and letting all the others pass. This definitely has the potential to be really engaging though
Pretty fun game, although definitely needs some better difficulty scaling. It's a bit tricky in the beginning but quickly becomes unlosable
@noahshomette @ha-kuro @phantom49 @branquelo @huskitch You may have to right-click the link and "save as" to download it
The style and audio are very good, and the game feels great! I did find myself getting stuck on enemies often, and screen shake sometimes made it quite chaotic to control. but otherwise very nice work
The sound design is good and general mood is established well, however I don't think the core mechanic was used in a very engaging way, felt I was mostly just waiting around
Cool idea and plays pretty smoothly. Controlling with the mouse is very awkward though, with the move speed limit. Would be much easier on keyboard
Really nice art and music. Would like to be able to just hold down fire
Super cool game, a unique concept and really great atmosphere
Really interesting concept, there's potential for a lot of depth with more mechanics. I agree that a full-speed replay at the end would be cool
Very fun, the weapons feel good and I think the fast and slippery movement combined well with the precise item pickups, it means you have to slow down and put yourself at danger to get health back. Gets quite easy with the upgraded flamethrower XD
game.png
Funny game, the physics and sound effects are very good. With more work and a set goal this could be an engaging sort of puzzle.
Fun! Decent variety of modifiers, well thought out. As others have said, sometimes damage is unavoidable. It also would have been more interesting to fight different enemy types at once.
Feels really good and the sound effects are great, I thought the knockback was interesting too. The enemies could have been a bit faster, never really felt I was in danger. Nice work!
Cute game! I appreciated the homing on my attacks. I found it pretty much impossible to get past wave 5 though
Overall it's an interesting concept but some issues in the execution. The visuals are very nice, the music is alright too but I thought the transitions were a bit jarring and the differences in tempo weren't significant enough. It's fun to break the cubes, but could have been more satisfying with sound effects. Also the cubes frequently did not line up with the rhythm, making the tempo changes feel kinda arbitrary. All things considered though, this probably took a lot of technical work and definitely has the potential to be really fun and interesting.
Cool mechanic, satisfying to kill a group of enemies. I agree that the deadly puzzle at the top wasn't well telegraphed, and also that it could have better AI so you don't have to seek out individual enemies near the end
Funny concept! Game is pretty interesting although somewhat lacking in polish, I never found any loot boxes except the one at the start and broken walls are sometimes very difficult to move through. The graphics and sound design are good, it definitely functions as a unique horror experience.
Really interesting game and unique take on the theme. You definitely have to play it quite slowly and carefully which might annoy some people but I thought it was cool, I liked using the laser to check if there were rocks nearby when I couldn't see. Also music and art are both great, very immersive.
Pretty fun, quite tricky to get the cows where you want them. Also sound effects are funny. Nice work!
Unique and well executed idea, levels are well thought out and explore the mechanics in interesting ways. Art is nice too
It's an neat mechanic but didn't feel particularly engaging, although the enemies that do move are cool. There's definitely potential for something more interesting and strategic here with more mechanics and enemy designs. The music fit well and it was nice how it lined up with the timer. Nice work!
Simple and fun little game! Only improvement really would be to just have more content, but what's here works well for what it is.
Mood is very good but really not sure if there's something to do
Really cool mechanic! The puzzles are also nice albeit a bit linear, having more spots to place portals would make it more engaging to solve. I also really liked the atmospheric sound design
Cool crafting system and dynamic world, but it descends into madness pretty quickly. I see a lot of potential in an expanded version of this with more depth
Fun little rhythm game! That's awesome that you were inspired by Steve Reich, I'm also a fan of minimalist composers. I didn't necessarily mind having to start each round from the beginning, but I would definitely like to be able to use any key on the keyboard
Interesting puzzle mechanic. Could use some qol but nice work
Cool menu, and the platforming is pretty difficult but fun. could definitely use a bit of polish, also mouse sensitivity was SUPER low for me
my demise birdwatching.png
Really cool idea! Performance wasn't bad on either version for me. This would have also worked really well for Delay the Inevitable lol
Fun and very creative use of the theme! Appreciated having a "hit" counter instead of having to restart. Nice work
Pretty fun and good amount of progression, although it takes quite a bit of time. nice work!
Cute and funny, although sometimes quite difficult to manage, the sheep got stuck in the corners of the screen quite often. Also I think there is a bug with the lose condition, as it seemed to just happen randomly
The art is nice and the game is pretty fun. Could use more content or some kind of meta, but is nonetheless satisfying and addicting. i was also reminded of rotmg :)
Cool concept. Would have been nice to have a timer or some other telegraph for the transition.
it was fun getting flung in the air by the moving obstacles. the controls are quite slippery, it requires a lot of mid-air adjustment to do any precise platforming
Nice work, could definitely be a good base for more ideas or some form of meta, and the ray tracing looks pretty great
Interesting concept but definitely needs a few more mechanics to feel good. The house is really small and there's not a lot of room to weave around the alien if the spawns in a bad spot, so while planning can help you a little it ultimately comes down to chance. Also fun song
Very polished feeling platformer, and an impressive amount of levels! I thought the "powerup" was funny XD
Really fun game with an interesting meta to it. The minimal style was nice and I loved all the transitioning music tracks
Basic concept but the implementation is quite good, movement is responsive and it almost always feels fair taking damage despite the overwhelming number of enemies. Nice work!
It's an interesting idea, and the game is really polished. I didn't find the levels here to be particularly engaging as puzzles, since it's mostly just a matter of being able to predict the enemy patterns, but it could definitely be the framework for something more complicated. Something like introducing moves of different distances could make you have to really consider the sequencing. Nice work!
Really nice work here, feels satisfying and polished, really fun to time your attacks to take out a bunch of rabbits. although a quick restart button would have been nice, as for the last few levels I immediately got cornered and pummeled for like 45 seconds.
This game absolutely nails the aesthetic! The challenge of the game itself though, isn't very engaging and can be a bit frustrating, I could not get this one for the life of me.
Untitled.png
Overall really nice work!
It's an interesting idea but the enemies just weren't aggressive enough, I could outrun them and take them out easily without using the lenses. There is definitely room for expansion and potential for more strategic play.
Simple game but tough, can get pretty unmanageable if you slip up for a bit! It would help if the monsters stopped spawning once the respective necromancers were killed. It also keeps going once you get all of them lol, there is no escape from the demons... Untitled.png
Really fun! Love that each ability has an alternate to switch to, adds replayability and depth. It pretty quickly gets difficult to manage, I did a few runs and my best was wave 12. I also like the mechanic of healing the big crystal by picking up crystals from enemies, though I would prefer if they would get automatically collected at the end of a wave instead of having to go and get them all. Music was a bit repetitive as well. Overall nice work!
Very polished mechanics and some clever puzzle design! The boss fight is also really good, feels like a culmination of everything you've learned in the levels.
Neat. The initial buildup is fun but the game quickly spirals in your favor and the difficulty never ramps up to compensate.
Great entry all around! Really good art and music, the gameplay feels responsive and polished, very well executed.
Pretty fun, I could only get to wave 3 or 4. The thing that kept tripping me up was not being able to attack when the good spirits prompt you, resulted in some unnecessary damage. I also think the attack's hitbox should linger just a little bit longer. Nice work!
It's satisfying to watch but doesn't demand much strategy, you can place down most anything you want and win pretty easily. Still, it looks good and functions well, and also the tutorial was really well implemented
Some of the moves aren't very intuitive to control but once I got the hang of it, I found this to be a solid speedrunning game, it was fun figuring out the alternate routes. The music fits pretty well too.
The art and animations look really good, and the music fits the mood. Everything in the game works and feels quite polished actually, but it is just too easy to spam apples right in front of him and win. Overall nice work!
Chrome flagged the windows version as a virus for me, but I played the web version, it mostly ran fine. The game could definitely use some more engaging enemies but it was satisfying to control the swarm, I was also impressed by how smooth it felt, and the music was pretty good too. Nice work!
Interesting little puzzle, I've seen a number of takes on a "reverse tower defense" this jam and this one I think is the most engaging so far.
Neat little game, hindered a bit by it's structure. Feels like you have to grind a few too many times over, although it was fun to try to find the most efficient way of clearing each demon to have more time for the boss, even if it is just a trial and error puzzle. And still considerably less grindy than most incremental games lol. Good work.
Pretty fun, not super deep but decently balanced.
The game is functional but not very engaging. Music is weird but it's definitely a vibe.
I love this, basically feels like the spore cell stage as a minimalist strategy roguelike. Would definitely come back to play an expanded version.
Holy cow this slaps!! Really taken by surprise here, this is a nearly perfect entry! All the mechanics feel really good and satisfying, the enemies are fast and engaging to dodge, the healing mechanic is clever and intuitive, and the upgrade system is just the icing on the cake. I'm not sure if you did the music since you're opted out of audio, but it does match the energy of the game very well, and I love how they ended in time with the waves. The only issues I had were:
- Occasionally when getting caught in a clump of cells, I would jump around sporadically. Took a couple unnecessary hits from this but not a huge issue - B is an awkward binding for spawning helper cells, I think right mouse would have made much more sense. - During the second set of upgrades, I am still able to choose the upgrade I took previously. Both upgrades I choose will be gone in the third set, but in the second one everything is always available. This led me to mistakenly think they could stack in my first run - Playing another game in the same session, it seems to retain the upgrades and cells from the previous run, and the game starts to perform much worse
Overall great work! Definitely a hidden gem, maybe the most fun I've had so far this jam.
Really unique feeling movement, but I want it to be bigger! The combat spaces were so cramped, it was really fun but hard to keep enemies in view to dodge their attacks. The music is also really great, there's so many tracks and they're all quite different from each other, and decently mixed.
It's pretty straightforward and also very exploitable, but I could see a more developed version of this being really engaging. I echo the suggestion of cooldowns, that would incentivize more strategic play, but there is lots of potential in expanding the game with more mechanics and levels.
It's a neat idea, a more expanded version could be interesting. As it is, the "puzzle" of trying to complete with as few crystals as possible isn't very engaging, but I could see this being really cool with more strategy to the wave construction. Overall what's here is pretty good, the art and music fit and the fx are nice.
Farkle is always good fun, and this works well, although it doesn't present the best, but you seem to already have a good idea of what would make it better. I would also say it would feel more natural if it were playable with only mouse (or only keyboard). nice work!
Mixing the tracks while floating through space is brilliant! I found the controls to be engaging in close settings but felt discouraged from going super fast due to how hard it is to anticipate bumping into stuff (although there's no real punishment for death). The combat also didn't feel great. But the tracks were great and I was surprised how many different moods could be achieved. The only other issue was that once the arrow disappears, it's a chore to try to find the rest, but I spent quite a bit of time and found as many as i could. very nice work, i had a great time!jams.png
As all have said, a simple concept but very polished and satisfying to develop an intuition for moving things where you want. Very nice work!
I found it satisfying just in how fast you scale, though once it reaches a certain point it becomes repetitive. I thought time as a resource was interesting but the hurdle of resource collection is pretty quickly overcome and it becomes trivial.
Pretty good time! While the sliding does look a little silly, the art style and music definitely nail the mood. In general the mechanics are pretty polished but not the most satisfying. The upgrades, although not offering any choices, give an emergent progression that I think is a bit more engaging than a typical wave defense. You're guaranteed to get overwhelmed eventually, but it does scale quite nicely for a few minutes.
Very well done, made me remember Achievement Unlocked :)
A bit of fun. I was surprised by the number of distinct abilities, but felt the level and combat loop did not facilitate many interesting uses for them. The animations and effects made it satisfying, although I was a little annoyed at how the player isn't centered.
A decent start, however, oxygen going above 100% makes the task rather trivial
