LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Very interesting take on JRPGs, I liked Comrade King the best. I just wished the heroes had their flaws themselves and the black knight wasn't the true source of evil. It was a bit short though and the end was somewhat anticlimacting, but I assume there was no time left. The synthesizer version of one of my favorite pieces by Chopin was fun to listen to!

The idea has potential, but to be honest, it often felt frustrating that everything blocked your path and you couldn't get to your desk. Also, you can't throw bottles in a downward direction. My guess is, that they spawn inside your own collision box and explode immediately.

Music and graphics are great and the game fits the theme very well - unfortunately, I lost motivation very quickly, because I had the impression that the ball was often passing through the legs :/

The dialogue felt a bit slow, otherwise really cool! The setting and the mood reminded me of Majora's Mask, one of my favorite games. I also used this mechanic recently in a game, the hardest part for me was to explain to the player what he is expected to do - often, players would just assume it was a bug and stop playing. I don't want to come over as self-advertising, but if you're interested in playing it, just notify me.

@oliver-richmeier @gnome4 @graphite Thanks for the warm feedback! Regarding your questions: There were actually two bugs I didn't catch before submission, but you encountered during your playthrough. The trashcan minigame didn't work in full screen mode and the game over condition didn't trigger. Both should be fixed now.

@gal-afik Yeah, I wasn't to happy with the controls either. Hopefully, they are better now. I would love to check out your game, but unfortunately, I am on Linux and you only published a build for windows :( Personally, I think web builds are the safest option for game jam entries, so everyone can enjoy your game. @gul thanks! No, currently there is no win condition - only a lose condition, if your room gets to messy :)

Take a Penny... by VicSparkz 2022-04-06T23:57:20Z

I am sorry, but I couldn't give a rating to your game, because I don't think it worked for me as it should have had. For example, when I entered "1.09" into the calculator, it would show up as "109,00 €", "7.50" would become "750.00" and so on. So basically, everything was multiplied by 100 and every customer was mad at me - Is this intended? If not, it might have something to do with the fact that I am on a PC with language set to German. In Germany, we use a comma "," as decimal point, while the point "." has the function of a comma. For example, it would be "1.700,50" instead of "1,700.50". I think, this might have messed something up with the numbers. Also, after finishing the first day, I was stuck in the hardware store screen... The graphics were nice though!
