Great game!
Great animations, and I like that there's backstory in this one. The graphics are also really neat, with the 3D obstacles and all
At first I was: on an ok endless runner, just got confused and jumped almost all the generators thinking they were obstacles then... wow...
Nicely done!
Nice! I would say maybe the prof's voice is a little too low.
Ok, so I got "An unexpected WebGL error occurred" after the static falling (spoilers)... but I am still not sure if that is part of the game or not. So, I think you nailed the mood there.
@jacobingalis It *definitely* wasn't a part of the game.
If you could, could you try loading up the page again?
WHAT IN THE WORLD THIS GAME IS BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT. 5/5 FOR STORY. To those who don't know... don't quit when there's an error. Just don't. Refresh the page.
Anyways, this is the longest I've spent playing a game jam game yet! Really reminds me of "This is Not a Game". I really wish you could speed up the text, because it's a bit slow. Still playing it. I'll rate it when I finish it. Well... assuming this game isn't infinite. Maybe you've just invented a self-aware AI. In that case...
Anyways, very cool game. High score 11134.
Nice game! I'm always fond of the [spoilers] meta style games. I liked this one. Some critiques: the slide delay is odd to get used to. The pipes are harder to see than they need to be. For a game with a lot of text, it would definitely be nice to be able to left click while it's displaying to jump to the end. Made going through the whole game much, much slower. You did a very good job with the effects, and I appreciate the refresh as a mechanic. Overall nice work!
In general, not bad, but the dialogues are too slow, and sometimes the game does not respond to the buttons
A complete game and I enjoy playing it. BitBoy and Prof's sound are so interesting, just like uhuhuhuhuhuhu, I can't help laughing for so many humourous elements! I think "slide" is delayed, perhaps you did it on purpose.
Incredible usage of mechanics outside of the game itself.
To avoid spoilers and really leave anything here of note would be impossible, but I do want to say, particularly to other commenters, that these kinds of games are awesome and it'd be nice to see more of em
Overall pretty good game! It was a little bit heavy on the text in the beginning and could use a few more variety for obstacles but i had a good time. Managed to get 9k~ highscore, not sure if more is possible :P
Nice game. I liked the "cutscene"-dialouge. Nice and simple game.
Great twist. At this point i dont even know what is intended and what is not. Game ended for me when i met a black screen that lasted way too long otherwise nice cutscenes and simple but effective story that fits the theme of the jam very well.
Very intriguing to say the least. I was ready to come and give a mediocre score until I read the comments. Glad I did reload it.
This twist make the game experience much better! Cool
An interesting story design and implementation. I like the cinematics and animations. In the dialogue parts, the sound bothered me a little in long sentences. Other than that it was fun.
Hah this was great :) Gave me Eversion vibes. Agree with the other comments that the dialogue scenes could've been slicker but otherwise, great job!
I laughed so hard when he jumped out the window. Classic!
My Temple Run days really came into play here as I dominated the jump/slide tactics. One suggestion would to be add a little contrast on the vents, a lot of grey on grey hurt my old man eyes.
Also this scared me when I first launched, I hadn't had my coffee yet and was like ooooooooh no, what did I do.

Great game!
Brilliant! Played to the end(reset and played again just in case lol). Creating a game of this level of polish with such a well-written story is no easy task for 72 hours. Also, despite what others have said, I think having to repeatedly hear the same dialogue adds to the impact of the narrative, but the slide is a bit too short. Really good job, congrats!
spooooky game. my only input would be to map skip dialog button on to keyboard. very interesting gameplay the loop might be shorter . like not 4 levels but 3 levels deep.
This was great! Excellent use of the theme and I can see what you mean about not explaining the mechanics for some people. I think this had enough of a draw, but I could see some people not realizing there is more pretty early on, a very tough balance. I think it was well balanced here though, very enjoyable story and getting back to the state before the deletion was a very satisfying way to end it.
The dialogue went on a little long, and the vents? blended in a little too well IMO. Other than that I think everything played well and looked good :)
@3bt @fromage @lisichka @silkmeloni @blue-pin-studio @str8griz @devvex
Judging by your comments, you may have missed something important. Try playing a bit longer and see what happens.
[Spoilers] Really great game! I like how it seems like a typical underdeveloped LD game for a good while, making the turn genuinely unexpected. Although, this means some people will write it off too soon and miss out on the twist. At first, I'll admit I felt that the meta stuff felt a bit unearned, especially with how it goes for this Undertale Genocide ending right off the bat. But, by the end, it genuinely got really effective, especially when the creator gets involved. And, yes, I did make it to the true ending and saw the credits. Overall, excellent game. Amazing work!
That delete all dialog jumpscared me :D There are just two things I would include; Mouse click to skip text (click to show full text immediately, then click again to go forward) and I think foreground objects that you need to jump over need to pop out more, when compared to the background. Contrasting colors or brightness would help. Otherwise, nice work!
Very funny game! At first it shocked me the initial dialog, however after playing i started feeling good haha, the art is on point and too, great work :v:
@superpokeunicorn Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I really like the parallax on the pipes you slide under.
I haven't had that strong of an intrigued response to a game since I fell down a hole and talked to a flower. Wow. That scratched an itch I didn't know I had. I was invested. I was just enjoying the game thinking that I didn't understand how you made squares look so cute, and then we went on a journey together.
My only gripe is that making me switch from c and space, to mouse clicking, was kinda frustrating as it is an unholy hour where I am and I wanted to be able to slouch and I had to keep alternating what hand was supporting ma face.
That's, pretty minor though. Well done overall, and thank you.
@otterfaelure Firstly, thanks for the kind words! Secondly, you actually pointed out something I didn't realize-the game is actually programmed to be able to use 'Left Control' for the slide as well, but I forgot to put it in the page descriptions since this game was submitted in the final hour. I've updated the descriptions now, so hopefully others don't run into the same issue as well.
I was like wow, this game actually has a really fun yet simple gameplay and a really humorous setting. *Spoilers after this*
I didn't give much meaning to those "delete" buttons at first but when I saw the first glitch, I was like ◎_◎
Then saw the "An unexpected WebGL error occurred" screen and I thought that it was the ending screen until I checked the comments, dude I was wrong. I thought that refreshing the page would just reset the game so that's why it is inevitable but nope, there was more.
The 4th wall/meta part is made really good with the atmosphere. Music and the glitches gave me goosebumps. It is the only game I played which nailed both the mood and humour at the same time, great job!
Nearly perfect all around good vibes and cute and fun! If I wanted to recommend anything maybe less of a delay on button presses to slide or jump? I enjoy endless runners a lot but assuming there were delays in place to prevent mashing that is absolutely fine! It was still very much enjoyable. Wonderful job I hope to see more from you!
this is a great game i found the ending great.
It's a cool game, I liked the graphics and dialogues with the professor. But I have a question: was there an idea in deducing an error when starting the game or not?
@alexsolonnikovp4 To keep things vague, let's just say the game is hiding something that becomes very apparent after about 2 minutes of accumulative platforming. If your curious, it'd be best to return to the game and see how things go down.
I thought it was another runner, but what happened next blew my brain.
Without giving any spoilers, I really enjoyed the twist. Thanks!
fun, subversive (without spoiling anything) with an interesting graphical style!
thought this was just a simple runner game, glad i stuck around until the twist [: enjoyed it a lot!
Solid implementation. The endless runner is a great idea for the theme.
After this game I feel like I'm not writing this comment myself...
[Spoilers] [Spoilers] [Spoilers] [Spoilers]
I think I played the game three times right now, all loops and I really want to know what's the name of the thing talking to me. And I just realized I am stupid xD The last thing talking to me was the creator and "We'll meet again" means that he will attend in further Ludum Dare Game Jams. Ok, that explains the last voice.
So Characters: Bit, Prof, I (Player), Voice of unnamed thing, Voice of Creator.
Is the thing ... "Proxy"? Or .. system control? Or .. hmmmm.
Also very nice attention to detail that [even more Spoilers] the voice responds when you F5 mid-dialogue.
Hey, thanks for submitting your game to stream! I particularly love the effects you made, good job with the visuals! Here's the vod if you'd like to rewatch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1449607637
Hi! Awesome narrative style! Cool amazing pixel art faces Love this kind of arcade games Mix with narrative was something new, cool stuff Thanks
I really liked your game! The beginning of the story reminded me of Undertale! Then it is a Runner with a lot of action. Perhaps I would have liked the music to be more in line with the action of the game, but I insist, great game.
Great game! I really appreciated that "Retry" didn't make the player go through the whole intro again. I don't play a lot of infinite runners, but it felt like the controls were a little floaty. Other than that, I had a lot of fun. Awesome job!
Liked it, nice polish and good job on writing a full story especially in a jam! , also you made me close my browser, I had to restart x) Really liked the dialog SFX, so funny haha :)
Hello! The game is cool. Maybe too long the dialogue at the start.
This meta games always get me. I was genuinely surprised by the plot twist, I just wished it lasted longer because I was enjoying it so much!
this is so cool! i love when games break the 4th wall like this, especially when it's in a setting like this. (you wouldn't expect this to happen in a casual runner game.) perfect ending too, that leaves a big impression!
I was not expecting such a narrative experience from a jam game. Awesome work, this was an incredible entry.
Simple and fun runner, the art seemed a bit confusing to me since it looked like pixel art but after the game starts you can't see it, until a water tank appears ¿? in 3d, which stands out with the general aesthetics of the character and the objects in the level, I think that could be polished more. The music is very good and I think the vibe of the game is going, maybe the introduction seemed a bit long for how simple the gameplay is then, the classic window screen is a very funny detail xD I think the game should follow this line to make it more fluid and dynamic. Overall good job, congratulations!!
Very well developed simple narrative that injects a sense of urgency to a pretty straight forward design. Great job! Only suggestion is one that can go on almost all GameJams: Could use a few more variety for obstacles and settings.
Surprising game ! I was expecting jumping through windows, but not like that ! Second phase's graphisms are really good ! Good job !
my favorite game so far. audio is awesome, i love the text system, this game actually has a storyline, and the characters are elegantly simple. for songs that were made in a couple of days, that's really good. nice difficulty curve, and overall, really solid. only thing holding you back is the art, as the buildings seem to be lacking. again, amazing job, and i hope you get a good score :D
I found the story quite interesting, including the little touches like changing the camera angle and opacity of the characters. Well done. The audio is also very good, and it makes perfect sense with the proposal. With a few more obstacles it would be perfect, and a ranking system to complement it. Congratulations!
I really love the cutscene animations, they're really smooth and polished! And the way you get tossed out the window had me giggling xD The actual game experience is also super polished and actually really fun! I love how cute the character looks when sliding :3
The extra little details, like the light turning on as you jump over and the 3D effect on the thingy we slide under are REALLY cute, nice job on things like that!
The whole thing is really cute and super fun actually, so well done!
I wanted to jump through more windows :(
Same as others: The initial message about deleting scared me ... Not cool.
I love your character facial expressions, animation, effects in the dialogue! Really well done. I like overall the graphics, except the 3D barrel, as it does not fit into the rest of the graphics. Music is good, mood is different from what I would expect (apocalypse, hurry, ...). Game mechanics is generic, but very fitting to theme. Controls are solid. Still a bit in-air control, further jump would feel more natural. Your current is good, just stating what in my opinion could improve it. Overall, a very complete/ polished/ clean/ funny game! Congratulations!
That was epic!! I did NOT expect this. Thanks for this! :) As others have said before, I also wish the text was faster. The game being 80% reading amplifies that problem. I realize it's a Gamejam game, but when the story is more meta than actual story about the characters.. it gets old sooner than this game is long. If there was longer and more fledged out gameplay, it would have made for a better contrast to all the reading.
I think the visuals are very charming and I do love the writing. I think the Soundtrack is hilarious and sounds very unique for being relatively simple.
Very interesting game, subverting expectations in fun way! Great work :D
I don't know what to say, this is outright genius.
This is really interesting! I love the visuals and audio (although the voices were kinda terrifying haha)
I'm not much of an infinite runner player so I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it feels like the slide is not very forgiving in terms of timing. If the animation hasn't completely finished, I can't start another slide or jump which is what usually ended runs for me.
Also agree with others - it would be good if I could at least click to skip the typing out of each piece of dialogue.
I had a fun time playing overall. Nice work!
This is a really solid entry! Loved the 3D object effect and the UI is incredible (for real, I've never been mesmerized by menus and death screens before). My only suggestions are: - Settings Menu - Explain the base mechanics in-game, not with dialogue (something as simple as having the spacebar above the first gap and C above the first slide area etc.) - Work on the player animations, it felt odd having the slow framerate pixel art animation transition to a smooth slide animation. Both work on their own, but if instead of slowly moving the players head down when sliding you just switched to a 1 frame sliding pose it would feel much better to slide.
Apart from these very minor and nitpicky issues, I really liked this game. Like I said, easily the best UI I've seen yet. Great Job
I kept your game open for like 5 minutes after beating the game. I'm still not convinced the game is over. I really liked how you broke the mold. I never know what to expect
Nice runner! Really like how 3D combined with 2D graphics. However, the spawn of generators feels so random that the game skill means nothing to the progression.
Hoo boy! How should I start this review?
The gameplay is a simple, typical endless runner game. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Mechanics, like I said earlier, are simple. I do like the humor inserted into this game, especially the different dialogue that plays if one skips the long intro. The music sounded a bit out of place for an upcoming apocalypse, but it sounds so serene when listening to it alone. Personality-wise, Bit's a pretty well-rounded character.
A few critiques I have is that the speaking sounds need to be a bit louder for Bit and the Professor, and that the dialogue speed needs to be a bit faster. But, other than that, simple, nice gameplay, and good music! Great job!
I love these games that switch things up from first impressions xD My feedback was mostly about being able to skip ahead in dialogue, make text faster, and allow progressing dialogue with keyboard as well since the rest of the game is keyboard but dialogue is mouse only

Okay, nice effects. But I just didn't liked how it feels and plays so watched ending on recording. Not a fun of endless games. Especially runners. Liked metamodern take reminding Katana ZERO and Thomas was alone. Great submission!
Overall the game is fun and enjoyable! The gameplay is easy to understand and playthrough. The art is simple and nice. My only gripe are the controls. I feel like they could be a bit more responsive and fast. Other than that, this is a very nice game :D
Well done! Nice graphics and audio. And the professor has perfect hair...An option to skip/fast-forward dialog would have been good.
Great entry, I love these multi-depth games. As others have said, a way to speed up text would have been great. Love the use of dialogue system, and I had something similar to this in mind for my entry but went a different direction. I'm glad I got to play something like this! Great entry and good luck!
The whole "breaking of the 4th wall" experience was a really nice surprise after few runs of clasic run and jump game. I also liked the dialoques, although I would prefer the dialogue to be played all at once, without having to click after every single sentence.
Well done, Thanks!
Very impressive entry! I had skimmed over the flavour text on this page after "infinite runner" and so fell for everything at first. The dialogue gave me suspicions but it didn't click until it all kicked off. Definitely enjoyed the experience, the meta-interaction was fun and I was always intrigued to see what would occur when I reloaded. I wish there was a touch more that changed between resets, however, the three times are basically each the same sequence with minimal changes in dialogue, where I think one or two would have sufficed. Perhaps that would indeed have been less repetitious with - echoing the statements of others - there was a button to speed up the dialogue and it was keyboard driven. There was a lot of time spent waiting for it to continue. But! This was an excellent implementation of the theme, and it disguises itself incredibly well. I also really liked the music and sound design. Well done!
It was most unusual experience among all of games I played this jam) I was pretty sure that I got some error (although WebGL error looked fake) but further screen glitches which made me believe that it is an error for real. Only a lot of comments made me doubt that this is just an ordinary game and I tried a couple of times more and it was worth it!) Great idea, implementation and sense of humor!
I was so unprepared for what this was. I thought, "Oh, kind of like the dinosaur browser game. Sure, it's fun." Then things started happening, and it became a meta experience. Such a smart implementation. I wonder if I found "the ending" or if there was more :)
Great entry. It has got to be one of the "must plays" of LD50!
Loved it! Refresh as a mechanic is genius and very creative. If the dialogues could be quick-clicked instead of every letter typed out, it'd be great. (Since there is a lot of dialogue)
omg loved it, go get a 5 stars on everything (except graphics lol) <3
[Spoilers] I really liked the transition and the 4th wall breaking browser feature was really cool and innovative! The graphics also looked great and the narrative and mood was amazingly done! Some dialogue skip-to-the-end button would be nice like click during the dialogue to display it all and then click again to continue. The dialogue button could also be tied to the keyboard, but that is such a small nit pick, because overall this is an incredibly polished experience, with a great sense of mood and I really enjoyed playing! This is an amazing entry!
Great game. I like it. I thought it would be a simple endless runner, then got confused on why I keep losing for no reason. Anyways I like the storytelling. Great job.
Truly amazed with the amount of content, the game surprised me with more a few times when I thought it's over. I like your animated splash screen at the beginning too, it's very cool. The little details like tilting the characters during their dialogues makes the game extra polished too!
great game, lacks some polish but nice backstory
This game confused me a lot. It is polished to hell, and all the little actions feel really satisfying to do, especially the dialogue, and intro, and yet the gameplay and graphics to me felt very below that quality. It seems to have all the makings of a high-quality, polished entry, and yet I cannot rate it that high, because of the mediocre animations and pixel art. It's like you put all your efforts into making it feel really nice to play, and forgot to give it actual graphics. That's why it confused me: its one of the highest quality games in the jam in some places, and yet not even close in some others.
In regards to the gameplay, it seems very simple, and straightforward, with minimal obstacles. The whole theme with the generators seems mostly irrelevant, as you end up running past them anyway, so you don't need to go out of your way.
And yet, it is so polished and satisfying! I really am in two minds here. I think, with some graphic and design improvements, you could make really really exceptional games, but it unfortunately brought it down here.
I know I'm being very critical, and I did enjoy playing it a lot despite my complaints. It is not a bad game by any means, but it is such a mixed bag of quality that I don't know what to think about it.
The story and execution are really really cool! The controls and gameplay are nice and simple, and I like the subtle mix of 2D and 3D, but what really carries it through is the story and it's delivery. I also like the cool intro and some of the filters/shaders. The sound design is pretty great too. Quite the creative entry, keep up the good work!
Like for theme and humor =) Good job!
The intro at the start was a cool idea, but there should be a "skip button" as some players would just want to get straight into the game and those replaying it would likely want to skip it as well.
I liked the visuals and it kind of resembled Fez feat. Canabalt to me, and the gameplay was responsive.
I played the game twice. On the first time I got to ~4700 and the game just ended. I'm guessing the meteor hit? The next time around, I got to ~8300 and there simply wasn't a next platform. I don't know if it was by design or a bug, but I think these things should be accompanied with some more clues to let the player know what the cause was.
As for the theme, I do agree that this fits the theme, but I would have liked the "delaying the inevitable" to be dependent on how I'm playing. For instance, the game could get faster and faster until I am no longer able to keep up, but if for some reason I could, then I'd like the game to keep playing.
WTH, I didn't expect the story to go like this. Incredible game! Really intriguing.
That was 100% unexpected, but I absolutely loved it! The theme was also used in multiple ways which was really cool. Such a good idea. I love meta things like this. Great job!
You know, I've played entries that are very simple, they play it safe. I was expecting this to be the same thing, but you sure seemed to be aware of that and subverted said expectations.
I'm surprised at how well you nailed the animation of closing a window prompt! It's a minor thing, but I have a thing for minor things. I certainly wonder HOW you manage to conserve the game state after refreshing the page! I don't think I've ever seen that firsthand before, though I know there are other games that preserve states like this.
I do feel the sequence after the "deletion" was completed did overstay it's welcome. I think I spent more time going through that text than everything I did previously. Some of the text sounds in this game are a bit low-pitched as well.
But I certainly dig the MIDI-esque sound of the music here! That's ALSO a thing I have a thing for.
I have a pet peeve for people namedropping the Ludum Dare theme into their entries, and there is *kind of* one here, but the wording's changed enough so that I don't mind. It's likely just a me thing, but I approve of not so *overtly* inserting the theme into your entry, **ESPECIALLY** not the page description itself!
Also, those 3D barrels look *nice.*
Absolutely wonderful work you did here. Thanks for subverting expectations!
@his-games Thank you for the very in-depth review! I'm sorry *Bitboy* wasn't a fun experience. There *are* reasons for the games unimpressive gameplay and graphics, which are set up that way to subvert expectations with a twist that occurs after about 2-3 minutes of platforming. Regardless of intention, though, it is still a failure of design on my part if I don't make the experience entertaining enough to get people to the part that subverts those expectations, especially when the twist requires refreshing the browser page.
If you're still curious and confused about what this game is meant to be, you can check out this stream of someone playing it (https://www.twitch.tv/nardandas20/v/1446823757?sr=a&t=4297s @ 1:11:35). About 3 minutes or so of it should help clear up what this game was going for, and where the focus on development laid.
10/10 excellent game. More than it seems, make sure to refresh the page whenever you think you have gotten to the end
Loved the intro scene :) "Why did you place them around the city?" Also WOW, best content I've seen so far in the jam. Absolutely amazing, loved the humour and story. I would have completely missed most of the content of the game if not for a friend :) maybe some cues need to be more obvious haha
oh my fuck dude gg what an experience <3 <3 <3
Love it, chef's kiss. Never would have thought of making PlayerPrefs part of the game plot! Great work!
nice artwork and humor, the intro was very amusing. when you press F5 then you REALLY know this game goes deep.
love the glitchiness unexpected factor in this game
cool experience, and the gameplay lasted just short enough I could make it to the interesting parts :P
I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Usually not a fan of this genre but the music really got me into it.
Amazing job! I really enjoyed all of this. I hope to completely finish the game eventually. It gave me, this is not a game, vibes. Good job! My only critique is it is a little long winded.
Great game, I like how it slowly escalated into madness you did that very well with the visuals and sound effects, I also really enjoyed the dialogue, It sort of reminded me of Undertale because of how you used PlayerPrefs for the dialogue. Although it wasn't totally gameplay centered it was still a great experience overall. Good job!
Wow! I was legit blown away by this game! It's so simple overall, and yet the story was really really cool! I got to what I presume is the actual end (It is done, see you soon.) I'm glad I did, great game, great effort! Loved it!
Good game. Genuinely unnerving. I'm glad there wasn't a jumpscare. Great atmosphere. A way to speed up the text would be nice.
I believe I made it to the true end... I think.
The dialogue felt a bit slow, otherwise really cool! The setting and the mood reminded me of Majora's Mask, one of my favorite games. I also used this mechanic recently in a game, the hardest part for me was to explain to the player what he is expected to do - often, players would just assume it was a bug and stop playing. I don't want to come over as self-advertising, but if you're interested in playing it, just notify me.
Good story, I liked the humour! I played till the end... I think... :D Gameplay was not very good though. Could have been a little bit better to not discourage players progressing the story. The visual glitches did not bother me so much but the actual dying unfairly almost made me stop playing before the next story part.
Interesting concept. A bit confusing, but it is unique. I do wish there was an option to load the text quicker. The mood was set very well though. Overall a nice experimental game.
If the aim of the game is to confuse me then that has been achieved
