Very relaxing, surprisingly fun for just a clicker
Really good execution, love the minimalistic graphics and the chess inspired style. My only complain is the difficulty, you could solve most levels with a quick glance.
Really neat and fun to play
I think this game is amazing. The design is super elegant and there is a lot of attention to detail. The only improvement I could think of would be to add some music in order to give it more atmosphere
Love the atmosphere! Also, using the planet's temperature to your advantage was a really cool idea
I had a tough time understanding the idea initially, but I got it eventually. Still, a very well done game and the fact that it was made with the Pico 8 limitations makes it even more impressive
Great game! I feel like I felt right into your trap: just like my character, I was trying to perfect my insignificant and repetitive job when BAM you hit me with that crazy ending and ask me "Was it really worth it?".
The main mechanic is clever but isn't really explored, the flipping of the levels fits with the theme but doesn't really make for interesting levels and the game can be buggy at times. That being said, the game feels unique and fun, Good work!
I didn't really get how the game was connected to the theme and sometimes the run didn't feel responsive (the jump is pretty good though). Still a very fun game, with balanced difficulty and good audio
@coderaurus I felt like it was slower when starting out and then quickly sped up. Maybe that's exactly what you were aiming for, but it didn't quite work for me
The in game tutorials where very good, they held my hand long enough to explain the basics, but they also let me discover some mechanics myself. That being said, even though I understood the mechanics, it was hard keeping track of everything, so I very quickly started solving the levels by brute force.
I like the humor, and the art and music are well done. I don't really think the time loop is used that much and it would be nice if some of the actions where animated or had an effect on the environment (the room looks the same from beginning to end)
Definitely an interesting game. It was hard to track everything that was going on on the different screens, but luckily the game isn't very punishing if you make a mistake. Very well done!
Definitely an interesting mechanic! I wish there was a little bit of visual feedback when taking damage. Hope you fell better!
I love this game. The design is so elegant, it is the perfect example of how simple rules lead to interesting decisions. The best part is the experimentation, it never felt like the game was telling me how to play, I just moved tiles around and discovered new properties. Also the way you represent all these interactions with elements is brilliant, the first time I moved a water tile to a fire one and created stone, it felt so natural, Of course fire + water = rock!
There's no doubt that the graphics are phenomenal, I'm a sucker for pixel art and that tittle screen just looks amazing. I think the main thing that game is missing is giving more feedback to the player. Shooting and explosions aren't quite as fun without sound effects and the game doesn't really show you when you took damage
@makeavoy Thank you! The game uses a height map to see if a block should be considered a wall or floor, the rest are just 2d collisions. I actually didn't intent it to work on mobile, thanks for letting me know!
Awesome game! Hope you continue working on this, the battle system has a lot of potencial
Digging in very deep areas is kinda tedious, but besides that it was a pretty fun game.
Wow, love the atmosphere. I wish I could give it six stars in mood.
Its quite a hard game, but I love the atmosphere you created! The dialogue makes it feel like I'm only seeing a small glimpse of a bigger world.
When I first played it I actually didn't realize the twist. Good thing I came here and read the feedback!
This game sucked me in and I was painting, reviewing and exploring for at least half an hour. If the game only had the paintings it would have been pretty amazing, but you decided to go the extra mile and add lots of atmosphere, pretty funny npcs and a ton of small but pleasant little features. The attention to detail is stellar and I'd say the game is pretty much perfect!
I like the music a lot, its strangely relaxing. Kinda like aquatic ambience
It's a very good game with a creative take on the theme, I definitely wasn't expecting to be solving mazes as inefficiently as possible! The only thing that confused me a little bit was when the targets where placed in corners I wasn't really sure where exactly did I need to be. But despite that the gameplay still felt very solid!
One of the most complete experiences of the jam for me. The gameplay wasn't anything extraordinary, but it got the job done and it let the story take the spotlight. Also, throwing rocks at wolves was surprisingly satisfying
Controlling the character feels good and the shooting is quite nice. My only complain is how incredibly effective the enemies are at killing you, I feel like the game would really shine if the cops gave you more breathing room
This meta games always get me. I was genuinely surprised by the plot twist, I just wished it lasted longer because I was enjoying it so much!
I like this game a lot actually. As everyone has said, the art direction is impecable, and it definitely has the sound design to accompany it. The mood it creates is absolutely perfect for the theme!
The game loops isn't super intuitive, but you explained it quite well. I think a death animation would have been cool, but the game looks pretty good without it. Its a good game and defeat definitely feels inevitable!
I love it! The game has some very nice sound and graphics and nails the inevitable disaster feeling right on the head
