LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Cramzon Ad Creator by recursor 2022-04-11T21:34:18Z

Surprisingly fun concept! The alliteration bonus made a "word management" interesting, altohugh I don't think I found any of the other bonuses. The UI was working perfectly. It's nice that you were able to add a scoreboard as well and using the currency of the player was a nice little touch though it was funny for me since my country's currency is really bad so all my ads were basically worhtless.:)

Loop by Geckoo1337 2022-04-11T22:12:05Z

Addictive! The shape made it interesting. The music and sound effects were great too.

Ride the Sauze by Meta-link 2022-04-11T22:01:32Z

I really liked the art style and the generated level was cool. I enjoyed being able to make big jumps, those felt great. Some collisions with the brown ground felt strange. I missed some music and audio, the game felt a bit empty without them especially with the cool graphics and the speed.

Dr. Tantalus Quest for World Domination by sparked99 2022-04-06T20:18:01Z

A funny interpretation of the theme with the plot armor of the hero. Placing traps was fun but controlling Dr. Tantulus felt unnecessary and also broke the game when I was shooting the "hero".

Hyper Keepy Ups Turbo by nanolotl 2022-04-07T21:11:52Z

Fun twist on bullet hell games and I liked the challenge of balancing my actions between keeping the ball up, getting bombs and shooting. The audio effects were nice too but because of the lack of music most of the time it was just silence which was kind of awkward for this intense game.

The controls were weird because the speed helped me when I had to collect powerups and catch up with the ball, it was hard to actually _hit_ the ball. It seemed that the hitbox was forgiving though.

Sweet Bitterness by Bomb-X 2022-04-12T22:18:26Z

Nice little mini game collection with intuitive and simple controls. The asesthetics is great, the graphics are nice, the animations are smooth and the music is catchy and didn't get repeptitive. Great work!

Block or Bust by 100th_Coin 2022-04-06T20:49:59Z

This game is full of surprises, the gameplay was fun, the music is awesome. Great work!

Park Lane by DrunkardWolf 2022-04-04T22:36:44Z

I loved the mood, the graphcs and the audio. Being stuck while waiting for the train was an interesting concept.

I'm not sure about the pacing though. I don't know what triggers the events so maybe I was just unlucky, but since there is not much to do, sometimes I felt a bit bored as I was just waiting for the next scary thing to happen.

Eleventh Hour by Jeremy Ryan 2022-04-06T21:37:14Z

Great graphics, effects and audio. Controls were responsive. Even though you have to get your ammo back, I still felt the gamplay may be a little too simple.

Last Minute On Earth by Wheffle 2022-04-11T21:54:56Z

Nice and simple, maybe lacks a bit of variaton after the first few levels. Sound effects were nice. I was confused why the police wants to kill me in the last minute of the world.:(

Captaining the Demise by GettingRekt 2022-04-04T23:07:14Z

I liked the concept about saving as many people and cargo as we can before the ship inevitably dies but I didn't feel I can do really much about it. I wasn't a fan of the burst fire mode and I wish the front shield was more visible since the engine particles didn't really help to find the front of the ship.

Despite these things it was an enjoyable experience. The controls were smooth too.

Devil's Revenge by Zachary Shah 2022-04-07T21:03:33Z

I really liked the art style and the animations. I missed more cues and feedback since I never had any idea that an enemy is behind me and I couldn't be sure whether I hit them with my weapon or not.

Isn't-Land by Villfuk02 2022-04-07T21:44:42Z

Liked the concept even though at first it was incredibly hard to follow. Graphics and sounds were fitting too.

Neon City by Sozey 2022-04-15T09:23:18Z

Nice controls and cool art style. Highlighting the enemies behind the buildings were a nice touch. The music fits the mood but the sound effects were annoying after a minute. Physics behaved strange a few times, once I fell through the ground into infinite deepness.

Hold it! by island-jam-2-group-3 2022-04-15T09:05:54Z

Fun idea, quite enjoyable. My only complain is that the carrot generation makes really hard to hold the streak, a lot of times the only other carrot visible on the screen is directly above the current one and I couldn't jump there most of the times.

SUNSTAMEN by Jasper Hansen 2022-04-04T22:50:18Z

I liked the athmosphere with the hand drawn art, the colors and the inevitable darkness. I was sad about the lack of audio which could have strenghten the mood even more.

The concept of the game was fine too as you figure it out how to manage your seeds to "survive" longer. But I missed a timer or something similiar to see how good I am doing compared to previous runs.

Icebreak by tylerstraub 2022-04-07T21:26:54Z

Definitely a creative entry. A chess-like game with breakeble tiles is an interesting idea and has potential. The graphics were cute and the whole art style was engaging and fit the gameplay perfectly.

But, I was having a hard time actually _enjoy_ the game because of its difficulty and minor problems. Maybe I was doing something wrong but after I pushed a Grunt once, I was not able to push it again ever because of our relative position and its movements. It also felt strange that when I was next to an enemy I was able to turn to it with WASD and then push it, but when I wanted to turn to a hole in the ice to fix it, I just walked into my death.

I still liked it overall and I think this gameplay has potential.

ThatsLife by maxi1324 2022-04-11T21:44:10Z

I liked the drifting, nice compensation for not being able to set the speed. Altough I don't know if it's intentional but if I changed directions during a drift, then I was just going straight. Maybe it's itnetnitonal but it felt strange to me. The boom sound effect made me smile.

A Halting Problem by Honey Pony 2022-04-12T21:54:23Z

Fun idea, nice difficulty curve and perfectly working UI. My only complaint is the same one others have mentioned about the code reset. Nice work!

Dire Darkness by jsmitq 2022-04-05T22:41:07Z

My biggest issue with this game is that I didn't hear when the zombies were eating my back. This feedback would help to survive longer. The cenetered healthbar was also confusing since I just check the left side of it to see how much healt I'm missing only to realize later that I have much less than I thougth.

Etiquette by MikoziQ 2022-04-04T22:12:49Z

Nice and simple typing game. A had a few issues though: - Since the words disappear as soon as I start writing, this becomes a memory game which I didn't really like. - The long wait at the start was confusing. - The description said to press enter but I didn'T have to that to score points:)

IRS'isnt by TheDevAtlas 2022-04-06T21:00:02Z

The enemy shaders are indeed nice! I didn't like the tutorial text on the walls and there was no feedback on the amount of money I have

Hopes by VainCil 2022-04-05T22:54:12Z

My biggest issue is that the camera can not follow me fast enough, I was able to leave the screen. It's really hard to see the death lines this way and dying to them this was not great.

Ludum Dare by She Wrote 2022-04-05T22:29:36Z

For me the gameplay was easy to understand after the first day, but it became too easy pretty early so I just stopped playing to see the ending. Also the music was a bit annoying after a while.

But! The simple gameplay and the aesthetics fit the theme of the game perfectly in my opinion and it really made me sad. This emotional impact is rare and I appriciate it very much. Great job!

Cold and Alone by David York 2022-04-06T21:23:55Z

The graphics are fantastic but the lack of audio/music was kind of boring after a while. Exploring and upgrading were interesting for a while and the dairy entries are engaging and really funny.

Tomorrow's Problem by Dorren 2022-04-12T22:11:16Z

Nice and simple gameplay with a nice story. The art style is fitting and the music helps to set the mood really well. I agree with the others saying that the tutorial works well. I had some physics glitches that looked weird but I was lucky enough to avoid any game.breaking ones. Great job, I really enjoyed it!

Live Long And Prosper by i_am_lloric 2022-04-07T21:34:32Z

First I had a boring life until 63 with bald head and no achievemnts. On my second try I died at 9. Depressing.

It is fun for what it is. Maybe the long waits between events were a bit too much sometimes.

Car of Theseus by ReeceyBoi 2022-04-06T22:16:21Z

Loving the mood with the handdrawn sprites and the colors and nice sounds too. I wish I could skip the intro after dying.

Gary by Mohammad Aldehayat 2022-04-15T09:18:02Z

Nice and fitting idea. My best time was 20.00 (yep). The boxes and bananas were confusing at first since they don't seem to do much. Even though the game was fun, your success really depends on the items you get. I liked the hand-drawn graphics.

Lights Out by Dan Livings 2022-04-04T23:20:00Z

Is there any audio in the game? I didn't hear anything and only hearing my mouse clicks kind of ruined the otherwise great atmosphere of the minimalist but nice graphics. Creating different shapes and patterns was engaging and my guess is that fitting audio would strengthen that even more. In the current state it became repetitve relatively quickly but otherwise it was a nice experience. Nice job!

Death, Taxes, and Bananas by markymark 2022-04-06T20:28:50Z

I think the graphics and the music were fine and fitting. I liked the mood when everyone leaves the the scene gets dark. The controls sometimes felt unresponsive or stuck, I died two times because I just couldn't shoot.
