I think you have personified what it feels like to remember your 9th birthday very well. The colors, drawings, etc. are combined in a way that definitely makes me feel like I'm playing a birthday party for a young child.
With that being said, I didn't really....get it. The game isn't much of a game really, and it was extremely difficult for me to even understand what was going on if I'm being honest.
The gameplay department definitely leaves a lot to be desired, in the nicest way possible. I think something that would help out a lot with this is to have some kind of direction, some sort of que, just something to guide the player on what is happening.
On the flipside, you have built an interesting story!
I do also think the take on the theme and the overall style is well executed considering what you were going for! Its a very unique art style, I cant say I have seen someone use this type of hand-drawn aesthetic like this.
I agree with William that the game would benefit from a guide of how to play inside of the game. Also opening the game was a bit shocking as the colors were very bright. Very interesting design and cool interpretation of the theme!

I really liked the design! The whole aesthetic suits the theme and it's always nice to see not-pixelart-or-paint-style in a gamejam. Althought I'm not sure about constant jumping. Perhaps, you could make kid smaller and give her really high jump, to keep dinamic while avoiding complete razzmatazz. As it was said, the game would benefit from a little tutorial, but both gameplay and objective was clear after the first day. Overall, good job!

A simple and pretty interesting little game. I like the story, and the gameplay is okay. The music and visuals fits the game very well. Overall a pretty good jam game. Well done.

I felt quite disoriented throughout the game which I think is part of the point. The music makes me feel uneasy and I think that's also the point. I really didn't understand what the objective of the game was, it was very unclear. Like everyone else said, some tutorial is needed.
I like the concept a lot. The music is haunting and does a good job at making everything feel like it's slipping away.

For me the gameplay was easy to understand after the first day, but it became too easy pretty early so I just stopped playing to see the ending. Also the music was a bit annoying after a while.
But! The simple gameplay and the aesthetics fit the theme of the game perfectly in my opinion and it really made me sad. This emotional impact is rare and I appriciate it very much. Great job!
Ah, I was sad but then the very end made me smile. Thanks for the upload

The idea is great! Still, the gameplay is strange - sometimes I can hold a memory just buy mooving the mouse and sometimes I have to click - it's disorientating, and I can't even reach some items. Music is too nosy to my ears. But if you work more on the game you can make a wonderful pace, I'm sure!
Ah, the nostalgia. It's interesting, really worth playing and a great interpretation for 48 hours.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this... I would give a constructive feedback, but I'm not sure what can be improved. Fantastic entry, I'm very happy I came across it!
PS: I'm tweeting about the games I play from this jam. Here is this one: https://twitter.com/TheAntonSem/status/1511761412804255753
Haunting game! I especially liked the music.
Such a chaotic game that I wasn't ready for!

I enjoyed this. It told a bittersweet story, which can be hard to pull off in a jam. I'll admit the gameplay felt very repetitive, and after a few days I "got it". Then I got myself in a situation where I didn't really have to do much and made it to day 18. The blink is the thing that gets you in the end. One thing that was really well signaled was the heart. I noticed it was sticking around, and was happy to see it in the end.
I would have liked there to be a kind of closing screen to this. It's a bit unintuitive to just hit escape at the end, especially since it doesn't close the game before that. Also, while it fit the game, the loop on the music was just a little too short to be listening to it for several minutes. That can be a tough task, so keep practicing with it and you'll get faster at it!
A really unique idea, with a short but effective game loop! I also love the hand drawn graphics, as well as the effect of things fading out from memory on the title screen between each day. Great job :)
Interesting aesthetics of the game, and I've liked it. I encountered a little game-breaking bug. If you go too far left/right, you can get stuck and won't be able to get out.
Cool game
Theme-wise a nice interpretetation. Some kind of explanation or tutorial would be great to start off with. I think I kind of got what to do after a couple of days but after that i just kept spinning the mouse around and that kind of boke the main mechanic. Maybe scale everything down and add some distance between the memories? Add some obstacles? Could make for a nice little whack-a-mole-platformer with a nice story. Good job!

Got an interesting story!
The ending make it worth it. You had some nice ideas in there: the fact that the menu between levels was diasappearing for example. I'm not convinced by the fact the character was constantly jumping: it's quite annoying, and I don't really see what it brings to the game. Another little thing is that I find fading to white quite exhausting for my eyes.
Overall, it's a super original interpretation of the theme, and you managed to create an interesting story with few informations, that's really nice.
(I did'nt rate your game in humor, because I did'nt see anything humoristc in it)

I relay like the naive graphic style. I'm a bit unsure about the ending, but I am impresst how good the feeling of loosing the memory is transported. I relay tried to save the memory of the other children on the party but lost them day by day.

Probably one of the most innovative takes on the theme I've seen yet! I really dig everything from the cutesy artstyle to the well thought sound design. The gameplay was also quite interesting without getting too repetitive, and I think it makes for a really fun and polished game overall (especially since it's a compo submission!)
Good job :D

Made it to Day 10. The artstyle and music fits great and creates a sweet mood. The gameplay isn't engaging at all though. I understood it after 2 days and nothing changed since then. I'm hoping for more variety in your next gamejam. Feel free to send it to me via @ or DM :)
