i think there is a lot of potential in this game. i really love how you can actually feel the effect of global warming gameplay-wise from the rising sea levels, and also creates a really hectic sense of urgency and panic lol. also i think that the balance of all of the buildings are surprisingly well rounded. all the stats feel like a classic real time strategy game, but all are linked together quite intuitively from each of the buildings. i just wished that there was a bit more strategy in terms of how to strategize building placement, since it was mostly me spamming everything everywhere :p. maybe if there was also more time i think it could honestly be a really fun concept for a real time strategy game :> good job
Opening the game for the first time is quite the information overload lol.
But after I destroyed my thermal plants, my nation thrived! They only died out because I destroyed everything except my forges in the mountains. Reactors are fun xD
Great concept though, really fits the theme too.

I only managed to survive around 60yrs! it's a pretty fun game, I had a lot of information overload at first, but once I started to get into it I enjoyed it a lot. I think it would've been nice if destroying a building gave you back some materials, I ran out of one material after a while, and had no way to get more.
Really liked your game, pleasing sprites and core gameplay. I just wish I could deselect a building with right click, additionally to selecting it again. Nice one, good job :)

Liked the concept even though at first it was incredibly hard to follow. Graphics and sounds were fitting too.

I really enjoyed the interplay of all the resources and that everything required multiple resources to maintain. The sound effects were nice and a good way to depict the loss of buildings to rising sea levels. Good job :)
Really suitable game genre for the theme and there are lots of interesting additions that could be made. I hope you get the chance to work on it some more.
This is really well made! One of the better ones I've played that's gone for a rising sea levels / environmental angle on the theme. There's clearly a lot of depth to all the interconnected systems that keeps it nice and challenging!
Cool interplay between all the different buildings and resources, even if it was a lot to take in at first. A more fantastical sim would have been impossible to absorb at the start, but since everything mostly extended from familiar concepts, it was within reason. I thought I could be clever and just delete everything from the start, but that didn't seem to work so well. :)
I really like this game! I played it for around 30 minutes. I managed to survive to Year 65 and I had a good time doing it! I even managed to get the CO2 going negative (but by then the sea level was already rising) and it felt really good. It is difficult to balance what to put down and how many. Thanks for the game!
P.S. I think it is ridiculous that people are criticizing for the unrealistic global warming! :laughing:
Interesting game that fits well with the theme. A bit too much information initially.
Okay, first off, nice idea and good execution. There really is a lot of game here.
But the amount of information to process right from the start is pretty overwhelming. One way to make it easier for someone learning the mechanics (of which there are a lot!) could be the option to pause the game. Or maybe introduce some systems at certain stages of the game.
But as I said, I like it. The graphics are consistent and definitely serve their purpose!
The start of the game is a lot to take, but besides that cool concept and nice execution! I like how many interactions there are to take care of. Good job with the game :)
The Concept is very nice and the sense of urgency is managed pretty well. But sadly it was at first very overwhelming. Furthermore the selection and placement sound was slightly too high pitched. But I would love to see an more polished game in the future because after I understood the mechanic it was addicting.
Nice game. There is a lot of resources/building to keep track of but I like that most have their own pros and cons.
That is a charming game. Weirdly enough I got to 73 years on my first try by just messing around and then on my second run when I thought I had the mechanics figured out, I wasn't able to exceed that score. I built some factories to afford some air scrubbers, but it's probably realistic that this is a stupid idea because I guess the factories pollute a lot and counteract the scrubbers' effects.

I wish there was some music, or at least some ambient sound effects. Gusts of wind fit nicely to an island theme, so that could have added even more to the atmosphere that you set up nicely with the graphics.
Building a strategy game in 48 hours is no small feat, and I would probably have died trying to figure out a proper balance to all the mechanics.
That being said, I think a complex game deserves a good introduction. You tried to fit everything into a single screen, which felt very crowded in the beginning and I didn't want to go through all the buildings to get what all the resources do. I understand that a tutorial is probably out of the question in a game jam, but for complex games I always recommend an infographic using the assets your game already has, with some arrows to indicate dependencies and *as little text as barely possible* to keep things accessible. In this case, multiple infographics would probably have been necessary because there are just sooo many building types and interdependencies.
All in all a commendable effort and a fun game, nice job!
