LD46 — Keep it alive

Hard Vacuum: Keep Out by unnamed1334 2020-05-12T15:38:54Z

More explanations need be given to help players understand what is going on. The game also lacks certain visual feedback, such as interactable objects being not so distinctive from the rest. I'm gonna assume that only doors and vents are clickable based on the text above. The idea is quite cool tho, and the game can benefit from better execution. Keep up the work :D

Division Decisions by Sn4pi 2020-04-24T18:38:05Z

I quite enjoy playing it, and the effort put into making so many events is really amazing. The lego city meme event got me unexpectedly, love the reference. XD The difficulty is just about right, while musics also sound nice. Great work!

Petulant Critters by Shugor 2020-04-24T19:08:05Z

The concept is very refreshing, and I really like the immersive intro. The duration per game is perfect too. Managed to get 3 endings

Emergency Call by rootools 2020-05-12T17:35:13Z

I really like the way to control the vehicle. The camera can use some polishing, as it's moving rather slowly, and sometimes looking down from the windscreen when I need to see the road. Btw, it's funny how the cars just bounce into the air and then drive away when they run into the ambulance. XD The code that went into the overall system seems pretty impressive as well. :O

Brawnfire by bitdecay 2020-04-27T13:30:51Z

Neat idea, I like that you can also throw objects to deal damage. The hitbox feels a little unnatural for up/down, and personally I kinda struggle when a beaten down enemy rise up again too quickly if not thrown into the fire. (maybe I just suck :/) I still enjoy the game though, the art and animation looks really good. :D

Etiolation by ankou 2020-04-27T13:48:01Z

The controls feel very right, and the level design is quite nice. The game is very polished too. It's a well done platformer XD

My BFF! Glorpol! by xel 2020-04-27T06:30:44Z

Wow Im really impressed by how satisfying the combat mechanics are. The art and animation looks really good too. Also love the amount of humor you put into the game. Im amazed that this is done in 48 hours. :O

My Fair Planet by SethPaxton 2020-04-27T06:02:41Z

Really cool game, it feels satisfying to suck up gas clouds and blast factories. Graphics and music are nice too. As others had said, it's kinda hard to control with just the mouse, I find myself having some difficulty aiming. It's a good concept nevertheless, and it feels awesome after beating level 3. :D

Turnip Turmoil by Jonas Michael 2020-04-25T20:42:25Z

Really impressed with the addition of a leaderboard, and the game has a chill music too. The hitbox and movement feels a little weird, but it's still fun to play. The effort put into making a tutorial is also remarkable :D Nice work!

Goblin Adventure by DrSkort 2020-04-21T15:55:24Z

Really liking the art style and music. The goblin expressions also help to signal the player to get ready on clicking on him. The levels are a bit long, but I enjoy most of it.

Spirit of the Tree by sat9 2020-04-24T18:00:16Z

I really like the graphics, and even having sprites and animations for diagonal movement really is a nice touch. The music sounds good and I also like that it changes when enemies are close. I got the heart stuck in a corner on the first time, so perhaps a way to pull it out would be nice. The combat is really hard at the moment, as enemies are able to spawn very close to the player and they respawn in that same area a little fast.

Defend The Crystal by Da1amus 2020-05-12T15:55:04Z

I found out that I need to click directly on the enemy(or at least in front of it?) to be able to deal damage. The attack animation sort of contradicts it by displaying the effect as a piercing range. Would be helpful if there is more visual feedback and they are accurate of they represents. The graphics is pretty cute tho, and the movement animation is quite charming.

Body Guards by Hcursino 2020-04-25T20:19:20Z

The amount of cards you made is quite impressive, and the gashapon adds a lot of replay value. I also enjoy the music quite a bit. The visual feedback for energy reduction doesn't seem to be immediate enough, I was confused at first being unable to spawn more. The "guards" also have a tendency to go out of bounds when they are high in number. Apart from these, the experience is quite enjoyable =)

DemolitionX Jam by scsc 2020-05-12T16:16:28Z

Its really fun to crash around. XD The damageable parts and losing ability to steer/drive when the wheels pop off is pretty amazing. Acceleration is a bit slow, and the ramps could be a bit wider to reduce the chance of getting stuck. But those are just minor nitpicks, the multiplayer aspect is already very impressive. :O I had tons of fun with a few other players :)

Scare Your Pants Off! by wallyfoo 2020-04-25T20:58:16Z

It sure is fun to throw objects around XD I also love the expressions and health indication of Sir. The variety of rooms with different object each makes a new play through refreshing as well. Not quite sure about this, but I start getting bugs after I won a level. Nevertheless, the art is amazing and I enjoyed the game. :D

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-05-12T05:21:05Z

I played the post jam version, and like others had said, the controls feel weird. WASD works but X being the attack button makes it hard to use WASD, and I'm gonna assume most people are more used to using the left hand for movement, which most games do these days. ;D The enemy hitbox seems to stay active and continue moving after it got hurt, making it hard to not get hurt after attacking it. It's really impressive that you made this in such a short duration, and the fire mechanic is really cool :D

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Decisive Battle by Erkberg 2022-04-14T00:51:34Z

Cool combat mechanics, reminds me of the mario & luigi games (the rpg series). I found out the strategy of just spamming attack is a lot easier to beat the game. :joy: Nonetheless, I appreciate the added layer of depth with "perfect" timed actions. I wonder if there is a different ending for a pacifist run though? Tried doing it but the dodge frames are kinda tight and there isn't enough indication for me to anticipate the dodge direction. Still, it is a very different experience among most games, love the atmosphere and animations too.

Thanks for playing our game on stream earlier too!

The Longest Commute by infinitycore 2022-04-11T00:34:03Z

The art direction is quite special, and it can be funny how ridiculous the road pattern soon gets. Spent some time figuring out what are the controls though, I was going to think the car runs on its own  Interesting take on the theme and it is quite impressive for a game jam.

Terrasite by superjai 2022-04-10T23:01:09Z

Oh wow everything feels so polished, and I only notice the radar in late game, but it sure is helpful to provide that info. The amount of aliens feels intimidating and they destroy my build platforms quite effectively lol, but I still get the terrasite title XD

The visuals are very impressive too, and the sound effects accompany the gameplay very nicely

Please Don't Date Me by Shess 2022-04-11T23:50:54Z

Really like the art style here, everything has small details and the color works really well. It's an interesting take to play against the main protagonist, and I like the occasional 4th wall breaks too. No idea how many times I've replayed this just to see which option affects which ending

22h38 by Katutt 2022-04-11T14:24:21Z

Best entry I've tried so far, absolutely enjoyed this masterpiece, especially when this is made within a small time frame. I really enjoy solving the small puzzles and am impressed by the amount of quest lines.

The Last Days of RIPLEY 9000 by Human Writes Code 2022-04-11T13:58:59Z

Wow the visuals are off the charts! The world looks beautiful and I'm impressed with all the 3D models used. The bot moves a bit slow and the game can use some balancing but overall great job on the polishing. Love the transitions too.

DIZT by Sodaro 2022-04-11T13:23:39Z

I appreciate the aesthetic choices here but I would prefer to have it more "readable". The mood is amazing, when I enter the game I can already tell I'm in a zombie situation (didn't notice the description at first). The cooldown on the weapons are kinda long though, plus the shots don't travel far enough, making it very difficult to play. I wish to try out the vehicles but I'm unable to survive through the earlier phase. Overall I think it is a pretty good entry, great job on the effort!

The Last Savior by JustusPan 2022-04-07T11:58:17Z

This was fun, I managed to make it pass the "save kingdom" and reach the survive phase. The sudden increase in enemies was quite terrifying lol, it was hard to survive that. I like how each enemy is weak to one of the 3 attacks, it added a reaction mechanic to the gameplay XD I think the pacing is a little slow though, and without a checkpoint after the first phase, it's a bit frustrating if I wish to attempt it again from the start. The cutscene and the loading screen do look sick tho

Aster Defense by emrod 2022-04-13T02:16:46Z

Nice game, I like how each ring orbits in the other direction  Like how the other comments mentioned, it needs a difficulty increase otherwise the inevitable is not coming XD Love the artwork, it is very detailed, the sound effects are satisfying too, great job!

The Runs by Bytomancer 2022-04-11T00:54:13Z

Love the easter eggs and inappropriate stuff on the blackboards. The humor is amazing and I really like the pop up texts like "oof" when you bump into someone or the comments when you pick up an item. The gameplay is a bit tedious because it feels slow to regain the momentum and it is so easy to bump into stuff. Nonetheless, I appreciate the small touches like someone burying their head in poop next to the toilet.

Farewell by Geryon Games 2022-04-10T23:23:20Z

Oh wow the graphics really sold me on this, I really enjoy the atmosphere. It has an interesting setting and exploring the town feels fun too. It's a little difficult to complete the game as I'm not sure where to go after getting all the friends or if I only have to survive till 6am. I also lose almost as soon as I get the last character because it's hard to dodge mom  I also enjoy the little story told through the dialogues, like everyone said, it's cozy XD

Encroaching Void by Phil C 2022-04-12T03:38:58Z

Cool concept, the shaders you made is impressive. I had fun chaining a series of bless attacks on a group of enemies XD

Oh No My Trophy by zimny11 2022-04-15T10:54:22Z

Haha this is a cute game, I really like the sound of them going pop. I was stunned on the instruction page for a while, I like that you used equations to explain the interactions, but perhaps not everything should be done with equations :joy: I kind of hope the sprayed traps could stay in the game longer or be allowed to draw longer trails, but I enjoyed playing this anyways, it was fun, satisfying, and challenging  Pretty good job especially for a compo!

Fight The Darkness by Specturnal 2022-04-07T12:21:49Z

@justuspan wow that's an impressive score!

Fight The Darkness by Specturnal 2022-04-07T12:27:34Z

@magus77 thanks for the rate! I will be sure to look at yours once assignments give me a break XDD (yea they do linger, u can push them if they're stuck before they despawn  )

Fight The Darkness by Specturnal 2022-04-11T23:02:46Z

@greenphox The bar above is actually how much the darkness has spread on the map, so you're not actually taking damage! I'm surprised you're the first to comment on liking the turtle tank, personally I like it too but most people seems to prefer shark

Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

Planet Saver by PashaLoban 2022-04-10T22:46:13Z

earthSaver highscore.png

Somehow I can spam E and it sometimes animation cancels and I'm able to get this score XD Cool earth-chan character too

Malpractice by ikelucas 2022-04-13T01:55:57Z

This game is fun and interesting, I really like how you got so many different things to happen from the environment. The setting with the loan shark stuff is pretty unusual too, and the characters looking like Lego people gave me a good laugh. My only issue will be the responsiveness of my clicks, is the game constantly switching between scenes when I rotate the view? Other than that this game is well thought out, the variety of minigames is amazing.

Mutating Escapist by Noirox 2022-04-12T03:26:14Z

I too am getting some Will You Snail? vibes, the level design looks pretty good aesthetically, and the idea for random mutation is interesting. The controls feel a bit clunky however, and the other mutations doesn't seem as useful as double jump. Dash should be helpful if it's easier to control. The voice lines are very cool and I appreciate the button to unlock everything so people can try things out

CigBan by Bassilij 2022-04-15T11:31:34Z

Yes son is finally winning, age 80+ with good health :joy:

I wonder if there is a different ending, cause I shot every birthday cake by instinct  love the candles spell "LD" for the 50y/o cake, cool easter egg. It was too repetitive and time-consuming for me to play another run without shooting any cakes though, but I gotta say this game is very unique and a lot of the interactions are smooth and satisfying.

Future me problem by noskro 2022-04-10T23:37:47Z

It's pretty fun and quite hilarious, it feels like tetris but trash-themed XD

I'm guessing the layout is set for mobile? If that's the case it's an interesting decision because I don't see much mobile attempts on a game jam, great job overall.

The Adventures of: π‘Ίπ’π’Šπ’‘π’‘π’š 𝑱𝒐𝒆 by SephoWepho 2022-04-11T08:47:02Z

I really like how the palette changes when the character recharges, and the recharge mechanic smoothly blends with the game. The double jump also makes it less punishing and makes the game more enjoyable. Although the music is generated, it fits the game quite well. Nice job

Banana-Man-Joe Sr. by Jerem Watts 2022-04-11T13:02:45Z

Wasn't sure what to do at first, but then I realize the controls are pretty smooth :D

Checked up on Banana Man Joe Jr and wow the voice acting is amazing! Each conversation ended with a blast of hype music and random banana enemies start to appear and it was all too funny. A bit confused when the wave ends even though I haven't shot every enemy, but I'm too excited to hear the next dialogue than to bother about the game system

Bitboy by Proxy-Games 2022-04-13T16:19:52Z

Truly amazed with the amount of content, the game surprised me with more a few times when I thought it's over. I like your animated splash screen at the beginning too, it's very cool. The little details like tilting the characters during their dialogues makes the game extra polished too!

Fountain of youth by greenphox 2022-04-11T00:02:19Z

I am glad that this game isn't punishing, and I can continue my progress bit by bit on every new life. The message is also very nice where the ending achieved is a matter of group effort. I like the dungeon layout and the platform mechanics, as well as the jump nerf as you get older. I think the tiles for the background walls could be better, because at first they look like solid walls. Overall this is a neat entry

Workplace Accidents by tendencydriven 2022-04-11T00:15:01Z

This is a hilarious take, watching the workers die by mere opening the refrigerator  The play area is really huge though, but I'm glad there's an arrow to help. The controls on the ghost is really smooth and feels nice to move around. I wonder why some workers have red/blue around their eyes?

HungryBot by Aka Black Dog 2022-04-10T21:56:54Z

I collected 10 code fragments but not sure what the password is to decode the message. It was a little confusing on what to do at first but I got it down anyways. The controls feel pretty good and the visuals look nice too. I really wish to know how to get the password though

Delay Inevitable Death by nafos_games 2022-04-15T11:06:32Z

Oh nice an infinite runner, it fits the theme well, but you seemed to have opted out of that rating

The different perspective is definitely interesting as you can see death catching up, and we are not looking at the player character's back for once :joy:

I too find the colliders a bit too punishing, and perhaps not spawning boulders until the game start (or something similar) might be a good idea, since if I don't time it well, I will run into a boulder as soon as the game starts

But anyways, congratulations on your first game jam, I enjoyed the music too :D

Ghost Chase! by Gnome4 2022-04-12T03:13:16Z

Cool concept I find the mechanic of stunning ghosts very effective. The time pickups are hardly noticeable though, and there isn't much to do other than keep running to survive. The furniture placements helps to keep it interesting, I would say this is a pretty neat entry, good job!

Fading Fate by arch.inglor 2022-04-10T22:17:08Z

I really like how the color palette swaps, the overall visual is great, but I have no idea what's happening XD. The game seems to run itself just fine, and it seems like I can "do a category" with each of the buttons? (not sure which is related to the buildings) I read the description about the buildings but I don't understand the impact of my choices, so I have been clicking buttons randomly  Really good job on the effort though, the world looks alive and the color is very appealing
