This was a very fun game over all. I was playing for a good 10 mins just punching things over and over. Good humor and always good to have a simple beat em up. Only thing I would think would be better would be to add some kind of heal system where you would eventually die. I was beaten by zombies over and over that didn't die or anything.
This was such a funny and creative interpretation of the theme!
I'm suprised this game doesn't have more reviews! the game plays well and more importantly. ITS FUN! The concept with zombies and people spray on your fire is weird but enjoyable. The difficult spike is BIG, but that's just more of a challenge for me ;D. Thanks for making such a fun game!
Really fun game, Loved it!
I had fun with that. Thanks for making it! Cute pixel art. When the fireman came on and started spraying water, I was like 'WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT, CANT YOU SEE THERE ARE ZOMBIES!?'. I had trouble throwing things into the fire from the sides and eventually would only throw up or down. Could probably make it a bit easier for things to land in the fire. I'm also assuming you can't attack up or down and can only attack left or right. Took me a bit to get used to it. Would love to see some more hit effects on the punches so you can really feel when you're smacking something around. I like that you can't stop the zombies except by throwing them in the fire. All in all, nice job!
this game is amazing: great vizual and feel, I would love if we could trow a zombie on a guy to kneked him down :) the issue I had is that the hit box for the fire is a bit small from the side and I often trow the log way pass the bonfire
It is hard to get the zombies into the flames, while seems they do not wan't that thing too... :mrs_claus:
I love it! Thought it was going to be a pretty basic game until it started getting weird lol. I would like to get a full lore background on why everyone wants his fire to go out. Some suggestions I have:
-Make hit boxes a bit more lenient
-Speed everything up so it doesn't feel as sluggish
-Maybe add a score system of some kind
-Make it a bit more clear that you can throw the enemies into the fire. Took me awhile to realize that. (Probably just because I'm slow though lol)
Hit boxes are a little small on the fire, but other then that I loved it!
Dang, that was really hard! haha I had fun trying though. We also made a fire feeding game, though a very different style. :)
This game was really fun! The sound design was super cool, and I loved the camera shakes. Keep up the great work!
I love! Really enjoy the final michael hahaha, great work!
This is a cool game ! I’m still not sure if the man with a gun is shooting you or zombies though ;)
Love the theme and art
Definitely a highly polished game -- good job. The audio, visuals, and gameplay were all pretty solid. Good job!
Well crafted. Loved that you could pick up and throw the zombies.
I liked art and music . good job. I remembered don't starve game xD. Good job.
Wow! great game  Loved throwing the zombies into the fire XD _buuuurn_
Loved the art style and audio. It really did remind me of the 90s! It was hilarious to me that you can throw the humans into the fire and I was pleasantly surprised by all the enemy variety. I'm not sure how you could balance this, but I found the ending part to be really difficult since they crowd around you and get in the way of your throws.
Loving the pixel art! Throwing the zombies in the fire felt extremely satisfying! Greato Jobu!
Is that a young Randy Savage? The fireman and the devil had me cracking up. Nice animations and environment art. Would love to play this as a multiplayer game of some kind. Good job!
Liking the River City Ransom sprites
Neat game idea for the theme! I loved the time pressure of keeping the fire going. The art is very cute and overall the game is quite polished. I played the web build, and there was no audio on it that I could hear. So I've not rated the game for the audio. Possibly either an issue with the game sounds or something up on the browser at my end (in which case I apologise for the non-rating for audio).
The only finicky part for me was that picking up the logs required me to be in some precise position. Too many times I was frustrated by the log being not picked up even when I was right next to it and button mashing to pick it up. Some leeway there would be nice to alleviate the difficulty. A couple of times I threw the log and it got hidden behind a tree! Can I suggest making the tree semi-transparent when the player goes behind one?
Overall, I quite enjoyed the game even if I never managed to beat the game.
Finding out just how far away you could chuck things into the fire was fantastic... I thought I had to be at least kinda close but nope!
Love the audio, the retro visuals, the gameplay was fun. It's a little too easy for enemies to get in the way of the throws, but this game is still a gem.
Great game, the only trouble had was aiming for the fire when chucking logs. So I was ok until I had to punch a couple zombies and my fire would go out. I tried punching trees early and stocking some firewood up early.
Hey this is really fun. Dig how the lighting changes as the fire starts to go out or gets more fuel. Much better than a boring ol' meter. Nicely done on the art too!
Aiming for the fire was a bit harder then it probably should have been. Other then that great! I've seen a few fire themed games but this one's style stands out.
Neat idea, I like that you can also throw objects to deal damage. The hitbox feels a little unnatural for up/down, and personally I kinda struggle when a beaten down enemy rise up again too quickly if not thrown into the fire. (maybe I just suck :/) I still enjoy the game though, the art and animation looks really good. :D
I would have been impressed if zombies were the only enemy type. I loved this, kept getting beat up by the devil, but that's OK.
Cool game - bit hard to aim though.
Fun game with cool art style and animation!
A fellow haxe user!
Despite the simplicity, I love everything about this. The difficulty curve, the introduction of increasingly absurd "enemies", and the incredibly straightforward mechanics.
Really solid entry!
@fireslash This was my team's first dive into Haxe (haxeflixel is what we used for this). Not going to lie... it's so refreshing to use something that gives you true programming freedom. I was getting so burnt out using Unity. HaxeFlixel is surprisingly friendly to getting things working quickly, and the Haxe language is pretty friendly, as well. I'm very excited to use it more in the future.
Thanks for playing!
