Great visual aesthetic. I like having business management sim logic in the game. I love the giant grin on the faces of happy customers!

Great look. Very cohesive style.

Art is really well done. Took a while for me to understand the controls and the game-loop, but pretty fun/therapeutic clicking gameplay. Enjoyed this!

Really clever and unified aesthetic. It'd be nice if the calculator had some sort of visual feedback for the buttons. Nice job!

pretty chill game! I liked the art and felt therapeutic - would be cool to actually use the numpad on the keyboard!

The customers smiling after I entered their price was my favorite part :)

The art was really fantastic. I could almost hear the weather just from the mood. It made me sad that people stopped coming, so you really were able to capture everything very well. Lovely job.

Fun game I sold everything for $1 and all the customers loved me. One of the best tycoon games of Ludum Dare 50

This game is very well done, but I would suggest making the numpad a bit more obvious. I had trouble finding it at first. Also, (and this is not at all the game's fault, completely my fault) I dind't realize the numpad had an adder so I was adding all the numbers in my head and felt like a FOOL. :P Anyways, great job!

I am sorry, but I couldn't give a rating to your game, because I don't think it worked for me as it should have had. For example, when I entered "1.09" into the calculator, it would show up as "109,00 €", "7.50" would become "750.00" and so on. So basically, everything was multiplied by 100 and every customer was mad at me - Is this intended? If not, it might have something to do with the fact that I am on a PC with language set to German. In Germany, we use a comma "," as decimal point, while the point "." has the function of a comma. For example, it would be "1.700,50" instead of "1,700.50". I think, this might have messed something up with the numbers. Also, after finishing the first day, I was stuck in the hardware store screen... The graphics were nice though!

Like Vasher I would have loved to use the numpad. This definitely brought me back to my cashier days! The art style is great, you really nailed the GB look! Would have loved to hear some crunchy sound effects here!

cashier simulator. love the art, love the grimm of customers, some audio feedback would be apreciated, and my first go to was o use my keyboard calculator... sad it dint work. well done

loved the art style, the thumbnail caught immediatelly my attention, and the concept its very well executed, makes fun a work like that lol amazing work!

vicsparkz 2022-04-07 13:19

@tianmaru Yeah that 100% what happened, I forgot to make the numbers culture independent. Sorry about that.

This is _such_ a creative, unique concept and amazing art style. It felt like a real classic game that I loved growing up on, like the tycoon games, yukon trail, dino park tycoon, etc. Great job.

Unique take on the prompt! I like the idea of a business sim. Not too shabby. Impressive for a solo job.

Brought me back to the days of playing the old-school brick GameBoy in the back of the bus. I disagree with the requests for a number pad - that would ruin the whole aesthetic. On the other hand, I suggest a directional pad and select button, some 8-bit sounds, and a "brightness" setting be added in order to further **capture** that GameBoy feel.

winniehell 2022-04-18 21:35

nice entry! I made it until day 4 :muscle: the game would have taken advantage from some sound though.
