The music of the game is really very good, the art and animations are also very beautiful. Regarding gameplay, it works well, but there are some things that can be done that would further enhance the experience, such as: being able to shoot by holding the button, instead of having to squeeze all the time I want to shoot, another thing I believe would help, would increase the speed of the bullets. But overall, it's a great game, congratulations for the amazing work !

To start off with my little critique, I did not ejoy the game that much. While the concept is very interesting and fitting for the theme, the execution is not ideal. The gameplay has some core issues, first one being the enforcers. I do not know if this was just a poor design choise or if it was meant to be difficult, but the result is impossible to handle. While you do your thing outside of anyone's sights it allright, however once you get the spotted, you are done for. Now it is a little easier to shake enforcers off when you do not have your little slave around.

Which brings me to the first recommendation in case you ever return back to this project and decide to fully finish the game. The recommendation is - letting your slave go when you want, so you at least can lose your hunted or spotted status faster. Being hunted is very easy to achieve because enforcers look everywhere. Again if you decide to revise the game ever in the future, I would like to see some visual or musical representation of you being too close to bystander's/enforcfer's view.

The last cluster of issues is how the disguise system works (even though it all ties in with the enforcers). Even though the look of the alien with the disguise is hilarious. Either the hunted mechanics should be changed to the behaviour similar to the spotted. With the difference being that you cannot lose the hunted status until you change your clothes. The second connected change I propose is is slowing the police down. It is difficult to lose them when they run faster than you. Your only hope is to get them stuck on an object or to slow them down during diagonal movement (where the AI occasionally struggles). The other solution is to be able to change your appearence outside of the vessel. If not everywhere then at least in buildings. If you do it in the space ship, the enforces will get you most of the time.

The graphics could use a little imporvement as well, now the main focus of improvements should be variety. There were lots of tiles with the same texture and since the color pallete was fairly monotonous it can be eye straining at times.

Fun but a bit difficult. Congratulations for the game :)

Looks good and fun to play. The music is the best though according to me. Nice to hear about a game-making family, must be very fun! :)

The Idea sounds really interessting, but I don't think the game delivers that. It was nearly impossible to shoot while walking. There wasn't any real chance to shoot the enforcers. And they were to fast to run away. I think half a day of testing and bugfixing would helped the game a lot.

Good game, got boring after a while though.

i had a great time trying out this game, i can appreciate the music level slider on the main menu. the game got a whole bunch easier once i learned that you can let your slave behind with [f], though i never got past 3 captured. the music i found really set the tone as an upbeat comic game, wich is further pushed by the disguises at the ship. the game quickly becomes repetitive, but as a jam game it is not really that horrible. all in all, great submission, hope to see y'all next jam !

The volume controls didn't change the volume at all, which was kind of dissapointing (might have been an issue with my system, idk), and the goal of the game was sort of unclear? Maybe just make the goal very obvious to the player, via in game messages or ui indication (arrows, particle effects, glow, etc.), and that would make it a little more fun. The music was really nice, it was just loud. I'd love to see it developed further!

I loved the fact that you did this as a family ! :family: Good work :)

@jackson-makes-games I'm not sure what the issue was with the slider as it has worked for all of our tests and in every game we have ever made. @qviguier even mentioned it in his post right above yours, indicating that it works. Which platform were you on? Maybe that's the issue...
