Very good and solid platformer! The controls are perfect! Very nice balance of controlling your health and the lava. Oh, and I like that the level changed always a bit through my plays. Had a lot of fun beating my own highscore. Good job and Kudos to using Godot!

Fun platformer, solid mechanics. I like the arrows because it means you can't stay too close to the top of the screen

I agree with what the others have said. The game's art looks good. The design of the tower before it falls into the lava is a nice touch. The gameplay is also fun. My only critique is that some of the jumps seem impossible without taking damage and I found it easier to just ignore the lava power ups and keep on running. Good job.
Simple but solid game. I like how you added some risk vs reward mechanics with the powerups scattered throughout the level. The arrows also helped to add some variance. I will say that it got a bit repetitive after a while, so it might have been nice to find a way to change things up as the game progresses. But, overall, a solid entry. Nice work!

Fun game! Great controls and easy to play. I think it would be even better with a little more variation over time. Really like the concept, well-executed.

Neat little platformer that unfortunately I am terrible at. The levels generated in ways that made it feel fresh each time which helped. I would have loved to play with a double jump personally.

Cool game, I like the idea of an endless climber and I like that there were pickups to get so you had extra stuff to do besides just surviving. I felt some of the configurations made it really hard to get by without taking damage, but the auto-generation felt pretty smooth other than that. Good job!

How is it possible that this game does not have more than 20 reviews? Seriously, it's a hidden gem. Some things are missing (didn't you have time to create a player sprite?) but the rest is great. The tempo, the rhythm, the difficulty and another very important thing: the music. It's amazing how it changes and improves over time. Great game!
Good game, but its bit difficult though.

Very quick and easy game with fitting classic graphics, music, and sound. The random level generation keeps the game interesting and varied.
Like some other comments, it definitely appeared that some of the generated traps just couldn't be navigated without taking a hit. Maybe this is intentional in order to force taking some risk to reach health. If that's the case, maybe setup a script so that this impossible traps are a bit later.
Overall, good job!
My score is 54  Solid platformer and cool music! The controls feel good and the pacing is just right (slow enough for the player to get the hang of it, but fast enough to feel the inevitable lava death). One point of feedback is that some of the items seem impossible to reach without getting hit with the lava. Maybe adding a half jump would allow the more adventurous to go for those hard to reach items, otherwise I think the gameplay becomes a bit too repetitive.

Fairly simple but fun anyways. After a few tries I got into a pretty good groove and thought I might be able to go endlessly but I got a tricky section that slowed me down and the lava caught up to me before I could find another circle powerup.
My main complaint would be that it always does a full-height jump, but this often results in me bumping my head on the ceiling and falling early. It would be nice if there was a way to do a short hop by releasing the jump button sooner for finer control of jumping over small pits or small obstacles.

This game is a straightforward take on the theme, but ever slightly too difficult in my opinion. Starting the lava a bit lower, having it climb a bit slower at first, and making the generation just a bit easier would go a long way. It would also help if I could jump further up than the screen, or if the controls were less floaty with pressure-sensitive jumps.
Great game, really nice job! It's awesome that you even have random generation. Here are a few tips to take your game to the next level (keep in mind that these are just suggestions):
- When the player presses jump, start a timer that goes on for roughly a tenth of a second (you should experiment with different values though) during which time the player is checking if they can jump. Basically, this means that the player will still jump even if they hit the jump button a frame or two too early, kind of similar to cayote time (which I noticed this game has, props to you!) - When the player releases jump, if they're still going up, cut their vertical velocity in half. This'll let the player control jump height by holding jump for a shorter or longer time. - A bit of acceleration and damping can make the controls feel better, however if you want to keep things simple, a simple lerp to the horizontal velocity works just fine! - Try experimenting with different player speeds. I felt that the player character could be a bit faster, but this is just a matter of personal preference.
Hope to see you continue this!
Level generation working well and platforming feels good. Nice game!

Very clean execution and pretty nice level design, I think it showed great balance between risk and reward. The visual design is simple but does the job, as does the music, overall a very nice entry. I actually didn't find it too difficult and I thought the speed increase could have been just a tad quicker. To make the controls better I think @kaya-games 's feedback is absolutely on point.

Great job !
Your game is my game, except with 10 times as much gameplay!
Guess I better rate it pretty high.
I like the traps. Especially how the arrow changes the risk calculus from weighing towards "stay at the top" to "stay in the middle."
Fun game, I liked it. I think an option to add is to "slide" and drop near an edge, because I found myself trying to slow walk on an edge to fall right beneath it, and not a bit further into a spike. But regardless it was fun and challenging. Good job!

That's a fairly simple game, but the physics is really on point, which makes it quite fun to play ! The procedural generation is really neat, even if sometimes it produces obstacles that don't seem to be possible to cross without taking damage. And the arrows that fall from the top of the screen might need some indication before appearing, because currently you have no time between the moment it is visible and the moment it hits you. Apart from those two points, this game is quite fun ! It is overall a pretty good entry, well done !

The controls are very smooth and I enjoy the rush of going to the top, also the music and sfx goes well with the overall mood of the game. My recomendations are: add stretch and squash to the cube, a very soft shake if you get hurt and a bigger sound, and change the color of the hearts and levels in the HUD, maybe a dark transparent background to make it easier to see. Still very fun, add some collectibles for extra points or power ups and refresh the procedural code to have more than one path. What about different tiles, ones that you slip others melt.
Hi Aldebaran! Congratulations for the game! Very cool proposal, I enjoyed playing! If you have a little time, visit our game too and let us know what you think!
