Really satisfying loop. It's fun to be a vacuum.

arnazian 2025-10-07 07:48

Idk why but this reminds me of the vacuum mini game from wario ware

nexyisan 2025-10-07 07:54

Cool mechanics and music, but for me the stains take a long time to wash off

kykypy3o8 2025-10-07 08:58

ter.png I cleared all the rooms by 99%, but it seems impossible to clear them by 100%. A very relaxing game with great music in the style of 16-bit consoles. I even forgot I was playing it at work:D

apoly 2025-10-07 16:03

@nexyisan yes, it takes quite a time to wash off at first, but when you have max "Wide" and "Pwr" they should be way easier.

@kykypy3o8 I think it is either that there're a couple of pixels of dirt in inaccessible locations, or it's a rounding error. I'll take a look, thanks! Music and sfx are indeed written using Adlib-like VST, so it's exactly late 80s, early 90s style, when consoles and PCs were using OPL2 and OPL3 sound chips. Sound cards like Ad lib, SoundBlaster and Pro AudioSpectrum will sound like that as well as Sega MegaSystem and some arcade games.

ciphereo 2025-10-08 07:10

The music is very pleasant to listen to. However, it takes a long time to remove the stains. This is a game that requires a lot of patience, but I really like it!

tagart 2025-10-08 20:02

Judging from preview I was expecting this game to be shittier (in a good sense). Still pretty good.

jimbly 2025-10-08 23:26

Why do these kids love glitter so much?!

I was disappointed when I got to #8000 but wouldn't let me upgrade Width again :(. I later noticed the limited number of upgrade lights, but it would have been nice to just not show the cost or something if there was not an upgrade available. It's probably for the best though, as those other upgrades are helpful too . Nice audio style, I like it ;).

I add youtube videos with reddit stories voiced by random guy. Nice tiktok exprience.

Hi, what an amazing game! Really enjoyed cleaning the rooms. Thought I'd play just a little bit, but ended up cleaning all the rooms and upgrading my vacuum cleaner stats to max :)

Got me thinking - what terrible people live in this house to leave such mess behind? If I were that vacuum cleaner, I'd definitely want revenge too.

Thanks for the great experience!

apoly 2025-10-10 15:39

@ciphereo thanks! Yes, it's hard work to start with inferior robot vacuum body, but I hope during your travels to meatsacks realms you've upgraded that body well?

@tagart honestly the third level might have a bit too many layers (dirt is two-layered) so it really hides how shitty it is in the resulting noise. We have planned to have several cleaning modes to clean stuff from top and then move to a shittier layers, but didn't figured how that will work overall, so decided to drop it for the jam.

@jimbly do you think it's just kids? It might be a wild investor party or an entropy loving market manipulators, that will fit their characters. Yeah, we definitely need to hide price when you cannot upgrade any further, that's a good point!

@jscommander well, you're only borrowing a body of a vacuum cleaner, you're playing as Bootya, an intelligence a bit outside of our realm of understanding. Glad you've enjoyed the game and didn't notice how time flies!

oliver-richmeier 2025-10-10 20:50

Very creative take on the incremental game. Seems to lean into the deliberately unengaging element, but it comes together well, and I even think it benefits from feeling slow at the beginning, emphasizing a sort of surreal banality.

local-minimum 2025-10-11 09:07

That was fun cleaning. I think I see the appeal of cleaning sims now. The upgrade system was nice. It did suffer a little bit in the beginning that it wasn't too clear that I was actually cleaning anything off the floor being that low powered and having so small range. But with some upgrades it became very clear. So not really a critique. One thing though, I would have liked to have enough credits to max out everything and maybe at that stage get a new unlock to make the cleaning quite silly so I can just for a last level run around and clean everything within seconds, maybe even clean away the walls and the floor. That the game ended before I got to max out all my stats felt a bit like a dud. But I also understand, and agree, that with the current content the game shouldn't be much longer. So it is a tough balance to strike.

I thought at first glance it was going to be a vampires survivor cleaning sim somehow  but this more relaxing cleaning was very nice. And I liked the storytelling with the paw prints and such.

Very nice entry!

Darn, didn't realize how fun would it be to be a Roomba!

(also, those dirty scumbag humans...)

frib 2025-10-13 01:20

Cleaning poop smears has never been so satisfying. I like the simplistic particles and how they are cleaned up, those clean trails are neat and tidy :D I was entertained from start to finish

loiclegrosfrere 2025-10-13 15:15

Did I just *clean up* a dead cat in the first level?! :fearful: I’m totally the target audience for this kind of game, so I’m pretty satisfied  The upgrades feel really noticeable (even if I didn’t try the rotation one much, all the others give a real sense of progress)

apoly 2025-10-13 17:15

@oliver-richmeier thanks for playing! Slow progress at the start is due to the desire to have a more noticeable upgrades with limited scope mostly :)

@local-minimum thanks! I think due to the limit on the credits we kind of provoke players to try again with a different build, though with such a limited types of upgrades it's hard to pull off. We kind of thought about Vampire Survivors type of progression after we finished making the game :D It might add a bit of replayability, but it will either require a weighting for upgrades (so there'll be no useless upgrades at the start) or a significantly bigger upgrade selection, like adding cleaning devices on to your body and upgrading them individually. Thanks for the video!

@firellon thanks for playing, glad you've enjoyed it!

@frib Thanks! There're two layers to dirt, one is a pixel sized particles and another is a smeared dirt. We didn't have enough time to figure out how to make upgrades work in such a way so you will get different cleaning efficiency for different layers and still not be too confusing.

@loiclegrosfrere nah, first level is just super messy meatsacks leaving so much entropy behind them probably returning after a party to their tiny den and making a mess :)

sergs-workshop 2025-10-14 15:12

Great concept! Pretty meditative experience. Jusdt as an idea, that player can start the game without being able to "see" the location, and gradually buy sensors that improve its perception

apoly 2025-10-14 15:54

@sergs-workshop that's a great idea! As well as probably being able to see different kinds of dirt or highlight it too. Thanks for the feedback!

loco 2025-10-15 00:00

Bootya.jpg Cool idea! fit the theme and is interesting to play. I feel very satisfying being a full-upgraded vacuum robot to clean the room. Good Game.

spaint 2025-10-15 00:00

Great entry! My inner perfectionist rejoiced while I was mopping around, it feels nice. At first I was thinking "Cool game, if only it had a full house map" and you delivered. The music is nice, but gets repetitive quickly. Loved the sounds for each particle though, cool touch. The upgrade system is great and you can feel the progression, but I think it can be improved balance-wise: at the start you always go for max pwr and wide sacrificing speed in the process since there is no timer. I'd easily buy speed upgrades if they cost less than the important ones (200-500), but instead, early game feels kinda sluggish (but meditative, I guess). Also separate max speed and acceleration for rotation feels weird, if you upgrade max rotation more than acceleration rotation will feel really floaty.

Had lots of fun playing, thanks!

Nice robo-cleaner simulator! Like a real one ^_^

brainloaf-studio 2025-10-23 00:57

Love these progressive style games, but I've never played as a vacuum before! Something about the sound as you pick up the "entropy" is really satisfying, along with the feeling of upgrading your overall abilities. Nice work!
