Congrats, you should be proud of your first godot game :) great work.
First of all, congratulations on making your Godot debut! Second, let me say it straight away: this can be a very interesting base for the game if you ever decide to expand it. What I would fix first is camera, it's a bit nauseating. There are a lot of good articles on 2D platformer cameras and you can really add juice just by making few formulas in your camera code. The gameplay loop while being pretty simple, can also be developed into something roguelite-ish (sic!) with all those upgrades, shopkeeper, etc. etc.
You have a very nice base, so if you ever decide to develop more into it, you might have a fun game on your hands. If not -- it was a good experience of making and releasing a game on new engine anyway. Win-win, I'd say.
You should not be ashamed of what you've done graphic-wise, it's cool! The game is a bit too hard at the moment but has potential! Congrats!
cool gaem
Can't seem to finish the first wave. The game lacks signs and feedback (would have been useful for better understanding). That being said, good work :D
The art and atmosphere (with the subtle lighting) is great, and there's a clean aesthetic to it
It was fun. I enjoyed double jumping, it is quite satisfying!
Congrats on your first Godot game! Glad to hear that failure with the first idea didn't scared you away from further participation. I liked the aesthetics and this simple programmer art, I see some beauty in such kind of artworks.
Gameplay is quite simple yet playable. I read the message about good and bad ghosts and thought at first that I don't need to kill good ghosts, but game didn't let me complete the wave :(
I wish music theme were a bit longer, it has a lot of repetition when playing for some time :(
But keep going! You did a great job!
Took a bit to get hang of the controls, didn't know a could double jump so I got stuck in a pit for a while. The game is nice, but lacks a bit of direction. Nice work regardless 👍
Congrats on your first godot game. Good on you for going through with it.
I really liked how the atmosphere of the game is created with the simple pixel art and eerie background. The collisions thou and the physics in general are just not there. But for a first game with another engine this is pretty solid.
I liked the vibe and feeling of the game. Would have liked a bit more feedback on actions. I survived 1 waves!! :D
It's so good game I like this genre.
I like the mood, the ambiance of this game, sure it can work a bit on it but overall you did a great job. I liked the way you integrate tutorial directly in the game. We are also on godot and a thing I like about it is that it automatically take the keyboard letters to map the control. So as a fr guy I can play with my fr keyboard!
I was really addicted to your game and tried so hard to beat waves, but could beat only 2( Sometimes these good guys distracted me, and, instead of attack, I clicked on these - and the bad ones were just here to kill me( I wish I can jump with Space instead of W. Otherwise, great job) I enjoyed the double-jump animation btw Screenshot_1.png
Pretty fun, I could only get to wave 3 or 4. The thing that kept tripping me up was not being able to attack when the good spirits prompt you, resulted in some unnecessary damage. I also think the attack's hitbox should linger just a little bit longer. Nice work!
Good job on your first game. The subtle 2D lighting was a nice touch. The combat lacked a little feedback, and the timing felt off, however, I did enjoy the double attack! Music loop could have been a little longer or maybe more ambient. The tutorial houses were a good idea but might have been more helpful for players to spawn next to them instead of being on the edge of the map. Congrats again to a fellow Godot user!
Neat concept! I think it was a little difficult at first. Also I experienced a bug the first time I played where there were no enemies on the map but I couldn't summon a wave.
Overall though a solid entry, well done!
The double-jump is neat but attacking is really janky. Given how long the cooldown is, and how few hits I can take before dying, a long-range attack (or a much shorter cooldown, or both) would've made this a lot more playable. As it is, I tried the first wave a couple times, but didn't survive long; the difficulty is like a cliff right out the gate.
Nice game'__' I think we need to pause in the upgrade purchase window.
