WOW! This game is fantastic! I love everything about it!
I really like the minimalism and sound effects. I think it's a great game, very challenging.
Love it! Reminds me of Osmos and Katamari Damacy.
Cool idea, I think it could be expanded to something really neat! Congrats!
Love the graphics. The fish are beautiful too.
The game is a little tedious, but fun at the same time. I liked the ending. The minimalist graphics are pretty charming too. Very cool. :)
I love the character! I like the graphic style, it's very cute. Gameplay is solid. Not much innovation, but you admitted as much, haha. Solid game!
Very fun, and unique. Controls are slippery, but I think that suites the game. The sounds are kind of jarring, but I think that suits it too. Overall, it was fun!
Very intense and challenging. It's kind of hard to shoot and move effectively, so I just ended up running through the enemies. Great job!
I'm not sure if I got stuck or if that is the ending? Either way I actually really like the fart power, I think it could be used for some cool gameplay.
He does get stuck pretty often, but it was a lot of fun. Reminds me of the original Spyro game. Great job!
I audibly gasped. I only got ending #2, but still, it was great! The movement is definitely too slow for me though, I almost stopped playing. :-/
Very simple, but oddly captivating. The story is a nice touch!
It's actually a really cool idea. I think if it was fleshed out more, with questions and platforming interlaced for a longer game, that would be a lot of fun.
I love the minimalism. It's fun, but it you fall there's not much motivating me to work my way back up.
Love the Portal-esque puzzle mechanics. Like the music, not crazy about the voiceover. On the 3rd stage, I fell through the floor (and kept falling), I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen or not? Great use of the theme though!
Wow, great game! Very good message.
Wow! Very unique, and very fun! It took me a bit to understand the mechanics, but once I did I loved it! I got stuck towards the end, I didn't die, but I couldn't place anymore pieces. GREAT GAME!
I LOVE the concept, but the execution is a little difficult to play. Maybe implement an underground map as well? Great idea though!
Pretty fun. I really like the controls!
I found the staircase. It was kind of tedious because I was the only one online, but I LOVE the concept. I wish other people would have been online at the same time!
Very cute pug. The "torpedos" seem to go at varying speeds and that kind of threw me off. It's easy to beat if you stand close and press space over and over.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I did plan to add sound and tweak the physics, but I ran out of time. Also, the 'getting stuck in a puddle' issue is one that I didn't quite have time to figure out.
I'm really bad with colors, haha. I'm actually color-blind and the purple looked like blue to me. :)
Great game! I love the different mechanics for each level. I think the mechanic for the first level could make a game by itself!
Awesome ending! Great graphics and physics!
Great idea. I think it might be better if the ship was shaped differently? Maybe like a ufo shape? Overall, a solid game. Congrats on your first LD!
Great narrative/message. The gameplay was also a lot of fun! Great puzzle mechanics.
I like the real-life visuals. :-p It's a little unclear when the zits will pop, and that is a little frustrating. Great job though, congrats on your first Phaser game!
Love the visuals, but I don't know what's going on, haha. Great job though!
Hilarious and fun. Like you mentioned, there are some spawning issues, but the sound and graphics are great. It also makes me want a beer, haha!
Very fun puzzle/platforming mechanics. Great music and art too!
I love the concept but it's a little slippery and hard after level 4.
Because I ran out of time to make the parents, haha.
Love the backstory! Game is simple and very easy if you corner the ship.
Very simple concept. I imagine if it was polished a little more it could become a challenging arcade-style game. You should be proud of making a game though, just keep at it and enter more jams!
Honestly, I love everything about this. The actual platforming could use some tightening/polish, but the concept is great and the game is hilarious. Great job!
If you mess with the iframe (clicking in and out of it) you should be able to get the arrow keys to work correctly. That has been a little frustrating but it does work!
Fantastic! I love the gameplay. It's simple, makes you think and gets pretty challenging! Great job! I love the art!
Cool gameplay concept. Challenging and addicting.
The controls are difficult. The character bounces around a lot. But the concept is nice. I think if you tighten the controls and balance the gameplay a little better this could be a great game!
I couldn't really figure out the controls. :(
Simple but fun! (A color blind mode would be nice though!)
Nice game, kind of repetitive though.
Pretty fun actually! I like the way the body moves up and down. And the tongue is a nice feature to get some far away bugs.
I get an error when I try to load the page. :( Chrome.
The controls are a little tricky, I lost a lot. But I think they just take some getting used to. Everything else about this is fantastic! I love the sound effects and the graphics especially.
Fantastic! Reminds me of Game&Watch games. Simple, fun, challenging. Not particularly innovate, but still great!
I liked the mechanics. It is hard to get used to and I got stumped after the level with the squares blocking your way. I think if you made the controls clearer and balanced the difficulty a bit this could be a good game.
This game is great! I love the concept and the fusion of different mechanics. Simple but challenging! One suggestions, maybe use different colors? I am colorblind and it's very difficult to tell the difference between the goal block and the others unless the are right next to eachother.
This is awesome! Very creative and fun! Only critique is the controls I found myself mixing them up pretty often as things got more complicated.
Adorable art. Fun concept. Feels really polished too!
How does this fit the game? Gameplay is basic, but graphics and music are nice! Also like all the touches on the menu screen.
Simple concept, but the graphics were clean and fun, music was nice, controls were easy, but it was challenging not to crash. Overall, fantastic job!
@Ryusui: Thanks! I fixed the instructions.
Fun game! Reminds me of Monument Valley a bit. Cool concept and I think you should flesh it out some more after the jam. How does this tie in with the theme?
Fun game, not much innovation, but it was polished well and the art and music was charming.
Very cool and unique mechanic! A lot of fun!
Cool idea! I was looking forward to playing LD games that used limited inventory for the theme! The graphics look great and I like the die rolling graphics and sound. I got to room 10. I'm not sure if there is a way to heal your HP? It seemed like I didn't have much control in the game and there was a lot of luck involved. Otherwise I think you did a great job!
A lot of fun! Very charming, great first game on PICO-8. I found myself playing for quite awhile trying to maximize my score! 5s across the board!
Very well made, I'm always impressed by the platformers you make! I got stuck on the 3 (I think) level, I'm pretty sure I got all of the orbs but it wouldn't progress to the next level. I'm not sure if I seem much of a match for the theme, but overall you did a really good job with this game! The polish is particularly impressive!
I really like this! I love falling block puzzle games. I love the background animation, sound and block designs. Admittedly I'm not sure if the mechanics completed clicked for me. It only tries to create a loop if it enters from the side? I think I figured it out like 75% but still lost a lot. Well done!
Congratulations! I can't think of anything to complain about. I would love to see a game like this fleshed out more! Really liked it!
Cool idea, I like the way the stage gets smaller, fits the theme well. I found it a little difficult to actually kill the wizard. Good job!
I really liked this, but I ran into a couple problems. I didn't see the option to restart on the pause menu at all. I think it would be nice to have some indicator on how each block of slime will grow. Otherwise I really liked it, well done!
Pretty cool! I would consider adding a color blind mode and/or add arrows to the block designs. Challenging and fun little game.
This was a lot of fun! I didn't get close to 100 but I played a dozen times or so, it was a lot of fun! I would suggest making the running a lightly tighter, it felt too slippery.
The number of zombies got really big kind of suddenly. Doesn't seem like you can actually lose? The zombies just keep swarming the flower. Graphics are very cute! Well done!
Smooth controls! I'm not sure if there is a way to win or lose, I just kept loading new levels. Did you intend to submit this for the compo? I'm not sure if you're allowed to use music unless you make it yourself FYI. Nice job though! I think some clearer instructions would be good as well as a win/lose state.
Very unique and fun. I struggled getting very far, it seems impossible to win sometimes when you have limited potions? Great art, controls, etc. Very well done!
Well done! I hope you keep making games for future jams. I think so feedback I would leave is the jumping could be better and it would be nice to restart the game automatically when you fall in the lava. The graphics were very cute!
This is confusing to figure out, but once you get it it's easy to keep the tree growing. I agree with Freya, I do think this would work as a rhythm style game. Cool idea to make a ludum dare entry that is a tweet cart. I would say more visual or audio feedback to indicate you successfully watered the tree would make it easier to understand. I also think the tree is quite beautiful when it grows large. Well done!
Hey! I beat it! I got stuck on 2, and 4 took some trial and error but it wasn't too bad! Definitely agree with the Baba Is You comparison. Well done! As a fellow "no-sound" developer, I understand the lack, but it would be nice to add sound and music! I agree the visuals could be better to tell apart the two kinds of floors. Overall I think this is a really solid entry and I enjoyed it a lot!
Thanks @nick-rafalski! I added a tiny fix to help if you get stuck because of the collision bug. If you press the X key/button, it should shake you free, but only use it if you are stuck!
@mathiouza Thanks! The way I programmed the spikes was pretty manual and I didn't have a lot of time, but wanted to have a second level so that's why there are no spikes, but my original goal was to add them there as well!
I really enjoyed this! The physics and sounds were satisfying, and it was fun to play! At first I was going to say it was too easy, but the 5th level had me stumped a bit. Very simple idea that I've seen done before, but you've done it better than most other ones I have seen. Great work!
Wow! At first I really didn't like it, It never really felt like I was in control, but eventually I was able to maintain speed and dodge asteroids by slowing down to almost nothing. The pay off at the end felt really good! Well done!
Great work! I love playing Android games for Ludum Dare! It played great on my phone! Very cool puzzle mechanics that fit the theme perfectly! I noticed a couple bugs (such as sounds playing repeatedly at one point, and the "replay" button taking me to the last level instead of the one I was on) but other than that this was a great experience. Great art too! Is this the character from Overwatch?
I'm giving this one full marks! I understand the limitations of puzzlescript as I've used it before. The puzzle design was fantastic, I think the conveyor belts were a little confusing at points, but I managed to beat all the levels and I think they had the perfect amount of challenge to them. I am colorblind (red-green) but the colors worked fine for me. The way you used the inner pixel, middle square, and outer square to identify each piece was genius. Very well done!
I was pretty confused at first, I had an attack that shot circles out from me in all directions, on my second playthrough I realized I could change the weapon with the scroll wheel. It seems a little hard with some of the weapons, especially in tight spaces. I love the graphics and the procedurally generated layouts. Sound would be nice, but I almost never add sound with my jam games. I would suggest adding better instructions because I'm still not quite sure if I was playing it right. I did beat the first boss though! Well done!
Nice game! I liked playing it on my Android phone. It was easy to control and the art was great. I think some more variety would be cool, I saw a lot of the same cards when I was playing. I had no problem making it to the end so I thought it was pretty easy.
Very solid little platformer! I like the floating, and the collisions worked great (I know how hard those can be with platformers). I think it would be nice if it wasn't so much trial and error, maybe have different paths to go on instead of dead ends? Some obstacles would be nice too. Otherwise, very solid game for LD, great work!
This was a great game! Challenging, but fun enough to keep me coming back. I didn't get very far, but only because I'm trying to make time to play as many games as possible, I may try to come back again in the future to get to the end! Sound was great, and the mechanic fit the theme perfectly. Well done!
This was fun! Very stressful, I got the bow twice and killed 3 vampires. Nice job!
I think this may be too difficult for me. The scrolling and jumping makes it hard to make the precise movements necessary to progress, I only made it to the first heart and died a lot. Other than that, I love the concept, the graphics and sound/music are great!
I played on Android and struggled at first, but then realized I had to turn my phone to landscape mode (I would suggest forcing landscape in the future). The graphics were nice, but zoomed out too far. Once I got a hang of what I was doing it was pretty fun to place tiles and see how things took over. I thought it was a little easy to keep things stable. I thought the game fit the theme well. I would suggest tweaking some code to make it a little more challenging (without being too difficult). Nice game!
Well done! Great graphics and sounds, I love the progression of the levels. Music would be nice. Great graphics and usages of PICO-8. All around great job!
Such a good entry! I don't think I ever really fully got the hang of the hovering mechanic, but I eventually got to the end! The checkpoints were a huge blessing lol. Great job!
Very well done, this is probably one of my favorites so far! The mechanics are simple but engaging. This would make a good "endless" game I think. It felt a little easy, and I won just after it seemed to speed up. So my only real criticism would be that it's too easy. The music had my head bobbing. Great game!
This was a fun little game, that I think could be a real fun mobile or web game with some tweaks. I think after a certain point it's really tedious to collect eggs/coins. It would be cool if you had a option to purchase something that would automate collecting/selling the eggs - that would allow it be be more fun and encourage the user to keep increasing output. After a certain point you're limited by how fast you can click and you stop seeing much growth. Art style was great! Really polished, reminds me of Stardew Vally. Sound would be nice, but I also understand as my game doesn't have any sound either. Well done!
This was fun, like a really tiny survival game. Good implementation of the theme (and this would have been a good idea for "Keep It Alive" from a few LD's ago). I wasn't quite sure what the icons under the fire meant, I assume they were related to how quickly the fire would burn. Great job!
Well done! I had a blast with this game, the concept was simple, but the mood and sound really made it shine. I could practically feel the heat and the audio did a great job capturing the 10 second countdown without many visual cues! I finished in 133 seconds. Great game!
This was a fun implementation of tower defense and fits the theme really well! It seems a little tricky to get all of the enemies since you only have a limited number of towers. Is it possible to destroy all the enemies each wave? Well done!
EDIT: I think I understand the towers better now - they fire every ten seconds so I have to plan ahead for where the enemies might be. Also, making the level randomly generated is a nice touch!
I really liked this one! I'm not sure if there is a way to win besides learning the pattern and doing them very quickly, but the sound and visuals were really good and it was challenging enough without feeling impossible. I think this was great!
This is a really cool idea! I'm a little confused about how it works, when you click one stopwatch, does it cause others to get set to a random position? It seemed random, but I'm not completely sure. I also seemed to beat level 8 but never proceed past it, so I'm assuming that's the last level? The sounds that play when clicking are very satisfying. I think this has some potential to be a really fun puzzle game, well done!
It was definitely funny. Not much to it beyond that, but it was a fun little thing to play.
I really enjoyed this! I think the "cooking game" part might be a bit of a stretch but it fit thematically! It would be cool to have to adhere to themed words to! Like verbs only, or animals. That would be fun! Well done!
I really liked this! It was a little hard to get around and a little clunky at times and I failed my first day at the sudoku factory, but I actually love the idea of an Animal Crossing game where you make money doing Sudoku! I would pay for a polished version of this! Loved the frog and the voices too!
This is fantastic! Very smooth, great idea, great gameplay. I can't really think of anything I don't like about it!
@Satanos Thanks for playing! I would love a translation because I don't speak French. :)
Great system! I killed 11 rats in 5 minute and still didn't get a reward so I might be doing something wrong. The battle system is slick though! Very smooth overworld, levels and battles! Well done!
Really enjoyed playing this! Smooth controls and challenging puzzles!
Cool idea! I found it hard to play the "tetris" part while still focusing on the ball. Well done!
I really enjoyed the puzzle gameplay! I think luck played too big of a factor when playing though. It wasn't really possible to strategically get the key and the door on some of the later levels. I think this would work great with some tuning of the board building though! A lot of fun!
A pretty good "clicker" game! It wasn't very clear how to tell if my stats were "maxed out". Also I didn't see anything post apocalyptic? I can see this as a dating sim x cookie clicker type game. Did I miss something? I didn't see anything turn-based strategy like. I liked the phone interface and clicker gameplay!
Great mesh of genres! I had a hard time getting the ore, but I enjoyed the game!
