What a game! Love the idea and the execution. There are few User experience problems. After it gets all crazy you cant click to collect eggs. Whenever ı try to click on an egg chicken info menu pops up and I had to click x to close it every time. That is so tedious. Love to have some kind of sound effect and music accompanying me trough this journey (It didn't play, not sure if you add them or not). This is a polished and great experience! @deniz-aras Thank you for your feedback. You're right that it's a bit hard to see now, I had to tie it up again so there weren't so many chickens and the UI was more usable. Unfortunately there is always the least time for polishing.
There are no sounds in the game, although I had them planned and some of them I had already recorded, so unfortunately there was no time for post-production.
The graphics are cute and the concept is pretty solid. I love tiny animal games but deniz-aras was right, it does get a bit unmanageable - which can be cool, but there's no benefit to the chaos, it just makes the game less pleasant.
Also, it seems like my game froze but I don't know why

@matt-green You're absolutely right. The balancing act with the number of chickens isn't great yet. I took the liberty to fix it as a bug in a bugfix and lowered the possible number of hens and rate. And few other glitches with showing status.

I couldn't figure out how to let the hens go to the water/food. I thought clicking on them would let them know .. Nice graphics and atmosphere. Well done.

@mdotedot They are autonomous. If they need drink, they will find nearest feeder and drink from it.
You need to build them and fill them.
Every important for playing the game is on the starting screen called "How to play" :)

This was a fun little game, that I think could be a real fun mobile or web game with some tweaks. I think after a certain point it's really tedious to collect eggs/coins. It would be cool if you had a option to purchase something that would automate collecting/selling the eggs - that would allow it be be more fun and encourage the user to keep increasing output. After a certain point you're limited by how fast you can click and you stop seeing much growth. Art style was great! Really polished, reminds me of Stardew Vally. Sound would be nice, but I also understand as my game doesn't have any sound either. Well done!

Adorable! Simply collecting more chickens is quite enjoyable. I also realised it was cheaper to destroy and rebuild the feeders than refill them.

Simple but effective idea on the theme! I love how chill it feels! I can play this while watching League of legends esport games :tv: Pretty well made! Good job!
Fun game! I feel like this could be fun as a desktop idle game. Graphics look great, very relaxing.

Cute little game! It gets a little tedious once you get a lot of chickens, so I feel like an auto egg-pickup machine (maybe with a radius of effect) would make this a fantastic idle/clicker game. Overall great stuff :)

This is a great looking game! I liked the 3 different adult chicken types. Culling the chicken herd was an interesting mechanic. Good work!
I think the hitboxes were a little bit too narrow. Had to click really precise. I think the dialog boxes should close whwnever you click outside of the box. Having to click on the little X was too much. Loved the graphics.
Great clicker game! Brings back memories of stardew valley.
Enjoyed growing my farm to 45 chickens. Swiping across the screen and clicking got a bit tiring after a while. It makes for some good aim lab practice though. Did not interact much with the pricing/killing mechanic, hoping the older ones would go away whenever I had my farm overpopulated.
One annoying bug is that clicking on a building menu that happens to be above another building takes me to that other building's menu, i.e. menus don't have precedence over buildings it would seem. Ended up having to destroy the building behind to get rid of this.
It also seems chicken focus on a particular food source and complain next to it instead of going to the other maxed out ballots of hay.
Really enjoyable overall and I can see how you can easily expand this into a fully fledged game that would be tons of fun - more buildings, automation, different types of animals, finished products, etc

Nice game, the art style is nice and gives a good farming vibe. It does take a bit long to complete and requires a lot of clicking!
This is great! I think it has a lot of potential as a kind of clicker game, if you wanted to take it farther. I would suggest the next upgrade should be a worker or something that will auto-cash-in eggs, cuz I had to do a loooot of clicking to get that well haha. I also loved the graphics! Great work all around.

well this consumed far more of my time than I expected. I enjoy the slow build to frenetic chaos, always something that appeals to me. There was some usability issues trying to click on what you intended to, but honestly I felt that only added to the hectic enjoyment. Alas, I tried to murder one of my poor chickens and the game died. Eve was determined to take me down with her.

Also reminded me of the computer game they played in Peppa Pig... can't find the name right now.
Some kind of automation would be nice (e.g. hire somebody to pick up eggs in exchange for some of the eggs)
Loved the graphics and the mood.

It's very cute! I love the chicken sprites. :) It gets a little tiring to keep clicking after things start getting expensive, though. Overall, great job!

Great graphics and good gameplay. I was kinda annoyed that I had to press the egg twice to get the money, and the name popup gets in the way sometimes. But incredibly fun game to play.

@brandsma No need to twice clicking, after 10 sec coin will be pickup automaticly, so you just need only open the egg.

Nice looking game! I liked how polished it was. To bad there was no sound, would really brought the experience together. But I personally don't like the audio dev part of game dev as well, so I understand :smile:.
Loved how you even can click on every chicken just to check up on them.

Egg tycoon should be the name xD If you keep on adding stuff to this Id play the sht out of it for HOURS (as I did with stardew valley)
This was a fun game! It was cool to see your farm grow, except it was a bit slow in the beginning. Then it was pure chaos! It was funny to see them eat. The animation made me smile! Great job!

Cute relaxing game! Always love an exponential growth game.
It was hard to see eggs when they were behind chickens and they weren't moving. There were some input priority problems - I would be clicking eggs when I wanted to click on chickens and clicking chickens when I wanted to click the kill chicken button.

I absolutely loved this! Made me really relaxed after a whole day. I really loved the graphics! They look gorgeously cute. And I love watching chicks going on with their day. And animations were amazing too! If I could improve this game, then I would make the coins collects themselves after some time once you reveal them. And I would add some "helper" which could be a cursor that flies on its own and clicks on eggs on its own, I think that would be cool! Would make the game slightly faster and would ease off clicking. Amazing entry anyway, really loved it!

It's truly awesome. I would say it should be polished a bit and it's ready to release. I'd like to see autoclicker because when there are more than 15 chickens it's very difficult to gather and click everything. Also there are some small bugs like chickens don't see another water feeder if nearest is empty. But i absolutely loved it and spent some time playing in it.

Your game is similar to the game I made with my daughter who did the artwork. I like the art style and selling the eggs. My game you have to sell the creatures. Nice job

Look, I can't believe you made me murder Eve, Barabara, Sara, Michelle, Brittany Jessica, Danielle, some chiken gals whose name I didn't even have time to read, and even my eldest Lisa who was 7 minutes old!!!! :( :( :( Unfair to give them such cute names when you're gona have to kill them! hahaha But really, this is such a cool idea and the absolutely cutest execution possible. The artwork here is insane, just so beautiful and well done!! And it gets so chaotic so fast LOL I LOVE IT. The little feedback I have to give is: - I could have used explanations on how the buildings work before buying them (maybe a popup). - A soundtrack would have been nice cause no sound kinda kills the mood. But it's a compo game, I get it haha - I would have liked popups to close automatically after I click outside them, otherwise it gets waay to cumbersome to keep closing everything, on top of managing the chickens.
Anyway, absolutely loved this game!!
Art is great, missed some sounds, game play is stressful (I like it) - game crashed for me when I was ~~killing~~ rehoming chickens. Great entry well done!

Great game and interesting idea! I liked how did you leave the difficulty control in the player's hand at all times. The chaos builds up really fast, which is a lot of fun and could do well with fast-paced music. I suggest making it clearer when the game is over. Overall, I loved it, congrats!

Oh god a game with chickens - I love it. It is really cute, sadly without music or soundeffects. It is getting quite tense when the amount of chickens gets out of control and I had to stop before they die faster than I could click. The first thing coming to my mind was the LD40 topic "the more you have the worse it is".

I do want to report a bug where I somehow had a "zombie" chick. I wish I could give more info on how it occurred, but there was always +1 chick which didn't seem to actually exist XD
Overall nice addictive clicker!

Definitely was fun. Only nitpick I have is that I have to double click eggs; there's no reason to not get a coin automatically when selling an egg. The eggs themselves can auto-sell once the coop is full... but maybe that's too much laziness on my part.
Also could've used some sound. But otherwise nothing to critique, personally. I really did like the game.
It's pretty neat. Graphics are well done. Felt a little slow burn at the beginning though for me. I also agree about the pop up disappearing when you click off it rather than having to X it every time. I also do think as well if there was sound it would've popped it up several notches. I'm not sure about collision boxes, but some times the chicks would walk right through the water/food troughs. Good job overall!

Very polished looking game. I'd second @twowolf's comment about having to double click eggs. It got a bit frantic towards the end - it would be good to be able to buy something to help collect eggs. Nice work getting this together in 48 hours!

Pretty fun! I loved the art and I liked the overall experience. It was a lot like the game that we made as well so it was fun to see another make a game similar to ours and see your take on it! It took me a minute to figure out the mechanics but I enjoyed it for a while.

Cute graphics and a fun idea. I really wish there was more to it, and the game desperately needs some audio! That said I spent quite a while just chilling with my chickens, so nice job!
After a 10-20 mins, my chickens got out of control, and I really enjoyed it :D The graphics were cute, and as many said before, the game is really meditating :) though it'd be even better with some chill music and/or the sounds of cute chickens. Very well done!

After progressing to a point I had clicked my mouse **literally hundreds of times** and my wrist started to hurt, I really started hoping I could buy a rectangle select-tool or an automated drone to help me with the eggs.
I've seen similiar thoughts thrown around in the comments, so I gather to the crowd! @ry-for @mbrezu @nullval @lonewookie @dzejpi
I think you could implement such features as expensive upgrades, or tools that would have a usage-limit. That way you wouldn't have to give up on the clicker-element entirely, but could cut the players some slack.
Since it's something so many players request, you should definitely consider it if you plan to develop the game further.
Have to admit that I myself would have played longer if such a thing had been possible. But I was determined to build three hen-houses and a well!
Gotta also love the fact that each chicken has their own randomized name. A cool addition would be a chance to name them yourself. Then you would feel all the more horrible when slaughtering them. :cry: :chicken:

loved the game experience where you just make fun from it by yourself. chill music would be a nice addition to the game! btw, me and my friend became so attached to the black chicken named debra – she lived the longest! we really decided to kill all chickens, so she would be the one remain as the boss chicken, but game crashed, oops. i guess, no violence for the one soul!
Game looks super interesting but I can't find a way to buy more chicks or hens. I always get stuck with one hen. I really want to enjoy this game. How do you buy more?

Really cute, really had fun with it! I was wondering if there's any kind of end game - I pretty much was staying at a stable point the whole time and just kind of stopped after awhile. I also found that even when I had 50+ chickens the 2 food and water feeders I bought at the beginning were enough to sustain them, so I was never worried about underfeeding or needing a well. I agree being able to buy things to harvest more eggs would be great. With a little polish you could release this, great job!

Super cute idle clicker! Makes me want chickens even more lol.
Like others have mentioned picking up the eggs got really difficult over time as my farm grew. I do like that I can hold left click and just scribble all around, but some cool upgrades like clicking and selecting a section of the map to collect what's there could really add a nice progression once the eggs get to ridiculous levels. But overall a really nice base for an idle game already!

having chickens is too big of a responsibility for me so i let them die... Although they are very cute and i enjoyed playing with them for a long time.. i missed audio... any audio. Even the clucking of a hen would be better than silence. But I had a lot of fun

So cute omg! Loved the art, some chill music would have been great. I've been till 35 chicken, And at this point it is really hard to pick up all the eggs :p Maybe you could have a robot to purchase that collects eggs automatically haha. I enjoyed it a lot, congrats!
Very well executed game! It gets really hard to put down after a while (:laughing:)! Starting out, it's very chill with few things to do other than just watching your chickens, but now that I've gotten up to *45 chickens* it's difficult to catch a break!
The art is really charming and I loved just seeing my chickens roam around and live their lives (uwu)... I wish there had been at least some audio to listen to while caring for my coop, but that was as easy as putting on a music playlist, so it wasn't game ruining for me! For a Compo entry, it's really polished and I loved getting as far as I did; I honestly had to force myself off to write this feedback! XD
Overall, super super great submission, keep it up! :smile:
This is such a good and complete game, absolutely astounded. The art is cute the music is nice (and loops well which is great as you end up listening to it a lot) so many nice little touches like the environment, the cute names on all the chickens (are they random or just iterating through a list?) I feel like some extra additions to the behavior to the chickens or maybe an affection mechanic you've basically got a complete pet sim type game. One of my favorites in all of LD51 :smile:

Great game! Such a fun experience! Just a lil tweak of the mechanics here and there, it get very manic as you progress( which I kind of like tbh) Some music and sound effect would go a long ( post jam) but well done. A great game !

Great game, loved the idea and the kind of exponential growth that you get later in the game! I also loved the minimalistic, polished graphics. I think the game would benefit from a little bit of atmospheric background music, expecially since it's likely that you will play for a bit. I'd also like the game to be a bit harder, to get more pressure from the fear of defeat. All in all, a really strong entry!
