You've got the core together. Sweet. I'd recommend a higher camera angle though.

Good base for an endless shooter, decent selection of upgrades and enemies. The shooting could have a bit more oomph and adjustable camera angle would be nice. but overall pretty fun

- could use a bit more initial fire power, or something showing when you hit/didn't hit. - the terrain following weapons were a bit confusing at first - the most deadly thing... at least until the really big bot spawns is trying to pick up pickups as they tend to be in the middle of other bots (circle strafing works fairly well to keep the enemies away from you)

Impressive selection of 3D models for a compo game. Even the powerups are 3D! The progression is a somewhat slow and completely random which makes replayability suffer. There is no gameplay strategy other than kiting the enemies and holding down the shoot button. I thought the soundtrack was unobtrusive and fit the game nicely. Same with the sound effects. I didn't notice any bugs. Nice one!

Cool game, there's a lot of drones at phase 15! I wish I had faster shooting or more damage up around phase 15

The game performed really well on webgl and clearly felt like everything was working well together without bugs or dropped frames. I really like the hover and how the projectiles run parallel with the ground. It seems like a lot of really interesting interactions can happen like this, especially if the enemies exist on the same parallel plane. The particle effect/ animation for getting hit by the baddie was very readable. It was awesome to have the feedback. I was missing the same feedback from landing hits on the baddies because it was a fun challenge and I was hoping for some explosions or sparks or something.

This was a fun one! It was addicting to collect the pickups and to upgrade your ship. I got to level 28 and felt quite powerful then! I liked how the game would explain itself step-by-step after you picked up each item. Some animation or other visual and sound feedback when killing enemies would have been nice. Also, I liked how the first enemies moved, they kind of stopped once and a while to look around. Some more interesting movement patterns for the further enemies would have been very cool too! Up and all, good work and nice game!

I really like the 3D models, and the controls feel pretty tight.

I found the controls and firing rate very unsatisfying at first, after some upgrades it felt good. Nice game overall, had fun over mu couple of playthroughs! Oh, and clever use of "LD50"

Ended up playing it twice, first time I thought the game was a bit too easy, but then I realised that the items weren't just random things to pick up, they were power ups and that made the second try a lot more, fun I actually would go in and try to pick up items instead of endlessly backing away. I have a soft spot for power trips in games and this was fun. I wish the game started a bit faster and escalated quicker, but it was still really fun, well done!

Fun game I played twice til death. I think it could benefit from camera control and juicier bullets. The enemies are more complex than expected and actually kind of fun to play against! I think that there should be less of a difficulty spike. Overall, I think it is fun to try to optimize your playstyle and gather more and more upgrades to see how powerful your ship can become. Although realistically you may be able to just try dodging all attacks to last the longest. Thank you for the game and good job!

Edit: I played again and got to 25 phases with 73 enemies destroyed! :smirk_cat:

Really struggled with the controls on my computer, I did however manage phase 59 and about 150 enemies killed. Half to one third of the time when I attempted to start firing nothing would happen, turning seems haphazard if it would work or not, and I found if the game wasn't in full screen before I started playing it was even hard to control. Once I had figured out the best way of handling these, overall the game wasn't too bad and very good for being done in 48 hours.

I really like the upgrade mechanic. It it's extremely motivating! A little bit of feedback when enemies are hit, would add very much to the whole feel of the game, I think. Maybe just a short flash. Pushback would be awesome! Overall: Very nice game! Had lots of fun playing.

It's always impressive to see a 3D game in the compo category - congratulations and being able to do that. Getting in terrain, trees, enemies, player, ship for a 3D game as a solo dev in 48 hours is really impressive. And music too! Well done.

lcstark 2022-04-21 07:40

Well executed shooter! I had fun running around destroying those drones, but they always seem to inevitably reach the lethal dose. There's nice enemy and pickup variety. Thanks for making the left mouse button work on hold - a lot of times compo games force you to click like crazy without any reason. The movement works pretty well, though I think it could be improved. Perhaps by making the player a bit faster, but giving them some inertia? Also, health bars on damaged enemies would help to see how much difference damage powerups really do, especially when the larger enemies start showing up.

Oh, and I love the music! ;)
