Nice graphics! Had to reopen the game everytime I died, would be nice to have a retry button!

Nice graphics! Had to reopen the game everytime I died, would be nice to have a retry button!
just tap r to restart
sorry I didn't mention that
Thanks for playing though
One of my favorite platformers so far. The camera angle makes it a bit difficult to see what you are doing sometimes but the simple physics makes it predictable and easy to learn. Picking up clocks to permanently increase your timer is a good mechanic that lets you feel a sense of progression that you can keep rather than having to restart from the beginning again and again. I didn't manage to beat the first area but I'll come back to it and try again.
@inanimatecarbonrod thanks for playing, and giving feedback I was thinking of updating it after the jam is over so I'll keep the camera change in mind. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Bit heavy on the neon colors and bloom for me but maybe that's just personal preference! Could do for some sound! Will come back to this and see how far I can get.
Thanks for playing @alex-zahn
I think its overall a good game. I do think that the camera made it more frustrating than challenging.
Thanks @n00b I kept it so low as to emphasize the players speed and being some slime in the bottom of a dungeon, but I will keep that in mind. Thanks for playing and giving feedback.
I enjoyed the lore bit at the start. However, I found the game a bit too hard, as I couldn't progress past the first 10 seconds or so. The concept is interesting, it reminded me of Minute.
Thanks for playing @tracex I intentionally designed it to be ridiculously difficult with speed running in mind, the game does have gamepad support and could possibly be easier on controller.
Agreed with the camera being somewhat too zoomed in! Seems like this would be fun to master and run through as quickly as possible, which is always nice to feel about a game in the first few minutes. Personally I found the physics on the jumping somewhat awkward to get a hold of, but after an adjustment it was OK. Fun platforming!
Hey, I am playing through your game and I really like the art style / how fast paced the platforming is. Although how fast paced the game is also one of my complaints. I feel like the time left just be incremented slightly more to give a more leeway. I am not stopping at all and I still run out of time.
Secondly, the gas walls that kill you need a little tweaking I think. Often times I can't tell if the collisions are active and going to kill me, or if its safe to jump.
Overall fun game that I'm gonna play some more of!
Pretty fun platformer with nice graphics and responsive controls, and I do like the fast pace of it. However the camera zoom in combination with the game being 3d often make it really difficult to intuit where/when you're supposed to jump, especially with the projectiles, where it seems like you have to jump before the window is even visible. Overall nice work!
Wow, this game is pretty difficult. It's pretty satisfying to learn to play, though. Especially since the time investment of each attempt is so low; there's no waiting, you can get right back in and try again. It's a little tough though when you eventually hit something just a little too hard for you. For me, it was the place where the spikey floating cyan hazards are first introduced.
Also, I was playing on gamepad, and not that it affected the gameplay too much, but there didn't seem to be a deadzone on the stick input that I could notice.
Anyhow, cool entry! Best of luck to you.
thanks for playing @unitedfailures , @oliver-richmeier , @awsumpwner27 I'm glad you enjoyed it. I am aware that the acid spitters are a little janky I'll try and fix them if I update the game.
I quite enjoy this game overall, including the aesthetic. I think the neon colors are pretty fun, and are actually probably the reason I clicked on the game in the first place
So far I have managed to get as far as the realllly long set of pink spikes past the first cyan spikes. I haven't managed to make that jump yet.
I think my favorite part of the platforming so far actually is the cyan spikes. The precision is pretty fun in my opinion, and there's a pretty good variety in the kinds of jumps you have to do in that section.
My least favorite part of the game is the green walls / acid spitters. There are several reasons. First, of course, is that their collision does not seem to correspond with their visual as everyone has discussed. Second, the window of time where they are safe seems extremely small--this may be slightly untrue, but the window is small enough that the visual problem becomes pretty hard to deal with. Third and finally--they are green, which is a color that is otherwise used to represent good things or neutral things (including wall decorations that are *also* spitting green particles!). The first time I encountered the acid spitter on the small platforms after the cyan spikes, I literally did not parse it as a hazard when I saw it, and so I died pointlessly, which was rather frustrating.
I'm not quite sure the best way to deal with that, as I admit I kind of like the green color aesthetically. Perhaps fixing the collision problem would be enough to make the unreadability less of a problem. And honestly, that one I died to after the cyan spikes could probably just be removed from the level entirely, as the camera angle also makes it hard to see it.
I think the fact that getting a new slime jar does not give you extra time for the current run is a very interesting mechanic. It is in some ways annoying, as it means you have to replay the same part of the game over no matter what. But on the other hand--it is kind of compelling, as it forces you to replay the same part of the game over no matter what. Seriously though--I'm kind of torn. I think that having to redo the same thing a couple times is kind of an interesting twist and even kind of fun.
In any case, this was a pretty fun platformer overall; the aesthetic is quite good and the platforming physics and level design were able to present a pretty substantial variety of challenges. And I do enjoy the difficulty overall as well, even though I haven't been able to finish it yet.
Hey! One of my favorite games so far! I could not stop giving it another try every time I died :). The Controls are really fair so that you never blame the game for dying. I also could not pass the wall spitters. Maybe fix these issues and I come back later :).
Good graphics and fun idea! I wish there were a way to start the game over without quitting. I'd probably play it a lot more if that were the case. Also some of the obstacles were unclear, like the torches in the foreground. I figured they wouldn't hurt me because they were also in the background
There really needs to be a way to respawn after death. Having to close and reopen every time really killed the enjoyment for me. The art looked decent and I really wanted to give it a solid chance. Good job though! If you can next time add some music, even if it's just a random royalty free song you find somewhere online, that would really help the game.
Thanks for playing @honey-pony @unfinished I'm glad you enjoyed it. The general consensus is that the acid spitters are janky and I would be inclined to agree with you both they are probably the most ramshackle part of the game second only to the UI and the method that I used for the acid spitter intermittent activation used a sine wave given Time.deltaTime which is decidedly not great for a high difficulty platformer. Anyway thanks for the reviews much appreciated.
I like the aesthetics of this game, as well as the sense of speed when playing. It is pretty hard, though, had to restart the level countless times.
I really liked the lighting and particles. Also, playing as a slime is pretty cool!
Some notes: It can be a bit hard to judge jumps due to the perspective. An orthographic view could maybe help with that. Also, the green shooting obstacles sometimes kill the player and sometimes don't, and it's hard to tell why.
I did like this game though. It has a lot of potential!
