Nice submission! The idea is pretty fun and the art style is nice, but there are some odd quirks - the jump is instant for me and pretty jarring, and having to restart right at the beginning of the level gets annoying fast.

@natpat thank you for the feedback, i noticed this issues but i haven't time to improve it since it's monday and i have to work, i'm very pleased to receive this good feedback from someone experienced like you since it's my first participation at ludum dare(i saw your previous submissions on your profile)

joonamo 2021-10-04 18:59

I really liked the toon shading effect you have going on! It gives the game a really nice, unique look that makes it pop :sparkles:

zookatron 2021-10-04 19:01

I found it really hard to get past the first part, it seems a bit too easy to slide off the edges of the platforms. The jump moving you upwards instantly was really jarring which made it hard to navigate too. The graphics and music was pretty cool though, it's hard to make a 3D game for a weekend jam like this, good job on that!

lucas-thomaz 2021-10-04 19:46

@joonamo thanks! @zookatron the challenge of this game is to keep character under control, for this reason the secret on playing this game is take the safest and straightest path ever, i wished to make the jump feels better, but it's the best i could do in less than 3 days, thanks for the feedback at all.

bobertsson 2021-10-04 22:03

The teleporting jump is driving me nuts, because this game has tons of charm, and despite the wonky collision the levels are pretty well-designed (well, I couldn't beat the second one, but what I saw definitely had potential)!

oliver-richmeier 2021-10-04 22:04

Fun little game, although death can be quite punishing. The music and visuals combined effectively, and while some others have noted that the sudden jump is jarring, I got used to it rather quickly and thought it actually gave the game a unique feel. I found the mouse sensitivity to be a little too low, which made some parts like the tower at the end a bit tricky, although the slowdown function helps to alleviate this. All in all, pretty good game

lucas-thomaz 2021-10-05 03:13

@bobertsson i agree with you about the jumps, i felt the same but this is what i could do in this amount of time i had to make the game, but depending on the jam results i can improve and evolve this project to make a better game, or even use what worked well to a new better project, thank you for the feedback! @oliver-richmeier i'm really happy you liked the game this much, the slowdown function is meant to work exactly like a "control mode" and the common character speed, sensitivity and movement are tough to control all by purpose, because the theme of the jam is "unstable" after all, i really wanted collision and jump to be better, but this sensivity part was by purpose, i even increased the amount of sensibility on the code when slowed down. I wanted the game to be chaotic, but not exactly the jump and the collision, in it i really wanted to make it better.

Cool! Good job!

cookie-chr 2021-10-05 19:55

Definitely unstable, but fun!

zackary-bazzle 2021-10-05 20:00

Nice Job! the controls were a little messed up and the jump kind of teleported you into the sky and let gravity pull you down rather than an actual force. The music was good and I liked the shader you used for the outline effect. Could use some work but overall nice job

fractale 2021-10-05 21:28

the camera is teleporting when the player is jumping. something a bit more smooth will be nice. I love the theme. nice 3d platformer

yodog 2021-10-09 00:44

I like the look and feel of the game, but the teleporting jump was an issue for me. I couldn't really get past the first few jumps after several attempts. I really like the music!

trusty 2021-10-09 18:59

Fun style, I was also a bit jarred by the jump but was eventually able to make it pretty far. Thanks!

sakura-magika 2021-10-09 23:55

i liked the graphics, reminded be of okami.

the gameplay would have been fun, except the camera instantly jumped upwards whenever i jumped, which was really jarring, made me dizzy, and made it really difficult to keep control.

weenie-walker-games 2021-10-11 01:53

Interesting little game. Loved the artwork! I couldn't get the controls to work, but that may have been the lack of an actual mouse on my laptop.

profugo-barbatus 2021-10-11 02:25

That jump is very jarring, the perspective/lighting made it really difficult at times to actually judge the spacing of platforms, and the character doesn't actually run straight forward, and drifts to the right - This proved actively uncomfortable, not to mention making it difficult to aim a jump at times.

jamphibious 2021-10-12 10:49

I liked the style of the environments / art overall. The jump mechanic did feel pretty jarring as others have said, almost like the character popped into the air instantly. I like that it is playable with just the mouse though, so I could see it being a fun little game with some refinement.

leyamez 2021-10-12 22:54

Those controls were realllyyy rough, especially the jump teleporting the player upwards. The idea was cool, just couldve used some polish. The graphics were jarring and felt slapped on with no real purpose to it.

gdesecrate 2021-10-13 22:11

Thanks for the game!

exmxpx 2021-10-16 11:13

It almost felt like the character was weighted to one side, combined with the jump made the controls feel difficult. Good job on your first submission.

Challenging jumps! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/x_dDMWkmRHA
