LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Delayed Gratification by jessekaz 2022-04-09T01:11:19Z

I had a bit of a rough start with this one, as I was just pushing keys and boxes around instead of picking them up and was still opening doors and switches that way, but after a bit I got used to the controls. I also ran into the black bar issue as well. I just have to say though, the level-ending void is such a fun charming thing. Its messages of affirmation as it comes to snatch you up gave me a chuckle lol

Fun little game, the voiceover made me smile every time lol. I would maybe consider having a smaller map so that you can see all the enemies at once, on my first wave the enemy spawned all the way on the right side of the map and I didn't notice it for at least a minute lol

The Snooze by krystofjo 2022-04-05T02:07:50Z

This one is fantastic! I literally said "Oh damn" when I saw the starting cutscene, plus I had a blast trying to find all the alarms with my eyes closed lol

Hey, not sure what happened but this popped up shortly after I started the game: error-screenshot.png

Pretty solid game, I'm honestly surprised you were able to produce a management game like this within the time limit lol.

Something I think would help a lot is a little bit more clarity in which order the disasters are occurring. When I first played, I thought whatever was at the top of the list was happening first until I basically forced myself to witness a flood when the node for it was at the bottom.

QUADRATORUM by Blue Pin Studio 2022-04-09T02:34:14Z

Incredibly well-put together game. With nothing more than a little polish and some more levels, I could easily see this being a full release.

I'm not normally a fan of rhythm games since they try to get you to stick to the beat, but having the bass dictate your shots being fired was a pleasant spin on that that I very much enjoyed.

Also the song was sick as hell, if nothing else, you should consider listing it on Spotify or something!

Spark Boy by Joshua Steward 2022-04-09T00:21:59Z

I definitely enjoyed the pixel art you made, and the background music throughout was pretty fun. I did have a hard time figuring out where to go at any given moment, which I think having smaller environments would have helped quite a bit. I also would consider mapping the talking/interact action with a different button, as I found myself jumping at the same time as performing those actions. But overall, not a bad project! I thought that things like the ladder burning up after you climbed it once was a really clever idea, something perfect for a game where you control a little fireball character like you have. Good work, and not a bad start for a bigger project if you want to keep going with this!

Conveyor Belt Attack by quasar098 2022-04-09T02:40:36Z

This game was stressful as hell but I enjoyed it lol.

I would maybe consider changing the way the boxes stack. Maybe make it more like 2048 or Threes where you can only combine like boxes, and then the score for that box doubles?

Also I feel like some sort of visual feedback for if you're actually hovering over a box or not would be helpful. There were a bunch of times when I was just a pixel or two off and got the banging metal sound instead of picking the box up

I Sink Not by eeldam 2022-04-05T02:17:57Z

Gave this one five stars across the board! I had a blast constructing my ship and watching it go, definitely has pretty strong QWOP vibes.

If I had to suggest one feature/mechanic change, I would make it so that when parts break, you have to replace them with a different part altogether, so that your ship evolves as it goes along and you have to change tactics between maximizing floating/flying/speed

Nuts and Volts by MeeseAgainstHumanity 2022-04-05T02:12:06Z

Not bad overall, though visual feedback on enemies taking damage could be a bit better. Most of the enemies dying in one hit made it clear that they turn grey when they die, but I thought the big brute enemies that take multiple hits were just impervious to damage until I shot them enough.

Colorful Love by Mikomoares 2022-04-05T17:08:53Z

This one is great! Absolutely brutal platforming, especially the purple/green level onwards, and I couldn't even finish the red/blue level lol. The art is great and I love the tandem controls!

@archimagus Sorry about that, try it now!

Doomed Spacequest by FulminDerek 2022-04-11T19:04:30Z

@firellon Thanks for your feedback! And actually each ship gets about 20 seconds before it explodes once it spawns, and once a ship has about 5 seconds left, it'll start beeping and flashing.

@outfrost Sorry you had issues with the menus! You also weren't the only one to think the music was too loud, so I definitely learned my lesson there lol.

Thank you for playing as well, I most likely won't do anything more with this game, but if I did, I would probably make it so that ships wouldn't spawn directly in front of where your ships were heading

Space Saw Defense by Hgaddy 2022-04-09T00:32:43Z

Not bad, I'm absolutely terrible at it though lol. Super trippy music too. Good job!
